EDIT : Alright, first run finished, painstakingly. But let's get one thing straight right off the bat : I have OCD and it gets easily triggered so keep that in mind while reading all this. tl.dr : Overall, an amazing game for its price, considering it was made by one guy (as I understand it) and one I will definitely 100% even though I already dread the achievement requiring you finish a run without destroying a single building... It's a great game, it was made with love and care and I have…

    16. The People of Sea, Sun & Salt is a city builder that promises to be chill and relaxed and pretty and it sort of does... two of those. The idea of a "low stress" survival colony builder is odd to me, with beautiful, gentle music and a "sunkissed-beach" energy where you are nonetheless told to -

Fun little city builder, I like that it is more objective based, kind of like Islanders. There is some planning required, and a lot of refactoring as you unlock new things. Pretty simple game overall. That being said, I beat it in 4 hours. Very short experience. I do wonder if $10 is a little much for this game. Maybe like 5-8 range is more worth it. That being said, it was a good experience to spend my evening. If you liked Islanders or other progressive city builders, I think this is totally…

It takes something special to build a sense of wonder into a city builder, but this one nails it. With a progressively unlocked tech tree that feels more like a narrative than a gating mechanism, a progressively unlocking map that rewards you for optimizing your precious space, and a frankly incredible UI for resource management at a glance. It's a city builder with a lot of the hardest edges filed off so that you can relax and enjoy your time. That's not to say that it doesn't provide…

I was surprised as the game went on how much depth there was. It seems simple at the start, but eases you into more complicated mechanics that all compound on each other. The game is very well-polished, and I accidentally played it for five hours straight instead of eating dinner or blinking. I'm shocked at how few people are on the dev team! Even after all that, I'm still not even half-way through it, so it's definitely more than worth the price.

really really lovely citybuilder-slash-puzzle game, gorgeous art style, great background music, satisfying sound effects. really really fun. just finished my first run, i think my only complaint would be that the map is the same each time and while some people like to play a map repeatedly to master it, i tend to prefer a new one each time. really really excellent game though, such a joy to play.

There is alot of content here for $10. Its one of those puzzle city builders, more puzzle than anything. You start with little land and the game slowly gives your more land as you meet the needs of your people. As you grow so do peoples needs and you need to clear old buildings to accomodate new amenities. Fail to meet peoples demands, the sea rises and destroys what you made forcing you to refocus. The visuals are nice, its a simple game, you are getting a ton of content for $10, the music is…

This is the most chill city builder I've played in a while, until you get a ton of buildings and you want to min-max everything. This ♥♥♥♥ is so good.

Just a short and sweet city builder. The land is cramped, but that's the entire premise of the title. Forgiving in that there's no death spiral, and buildings can be relocated at will. Enjoyable

It's a nice, cozy city builder. It avoids the vibe of being a grand 4X strategy games and focuses on just being a chill experience. It’s a relatively short but very pleasant game. The controls may feel a bit unintuitive at the beginning, however you quickly get used to it.

The people of Sea, Sun & Salt is a city-building and survival strategy game developed by Emerick Gibson and published by RockGame S.A. that combines settlement management, environmental survival, and cultural development within a Mediterranean-inspired island setting. Rather than focusing purely on rapid expansion or economic domination, the game emphasizes the delicate balance between survival, social stability, and long-term planning. The result is a thoughtful strategy experience where every…

Great aesthetic, fun, puzzly gameplay loop, and does not overstay its welcome! Which is refreshing in an age where any third-rate clicker game intends to have us playing forever. Well worth it.

The People of Sea, Sun and Salt blends city-building with civilization, balanced in a way we don't see often. Progression is smooth and increasingly challenging, as the civilization evolves to take more aspects of what makes life worth living, culture, beliefs, quality of the environment, balance of work and leisure. In each chapter, options selected by the player make the game easier or harder, but also change the People's priorities and course of the city's development, so the game can be…

Nice chill music. But I hate the embelishments system, and stopped the game at the 1/2 way point where it FORCES you to interact with it or get locked from further progress. So no more progress and no more playing the game.

A small but very satisfying city building/puzzle game. The aesthetic is very pretty while you're expending your island. Can be beaten in few hours but I'm sure you can spend more if you're the kind to like challenges and ultra optimization. Having to choose between optimization and building is a good alternative to have only one island.

This game has a lot of love put into it. It is a (mostly) relaxing city builder at it's surface but managing your resources in the later eras of the game can be incredibly (and purposefully) tricky with the limited island space provided. It becomes a game of tweaking your city to balance out consumption of resources for production of others. The visuals are beautiful (except the citizens, which stand out from the rest of the games art like sore thumbs), and the games progress feels fair and…

Did not expect this game to be so fun, imaginative and well formed. A city builder that knows its focus and is very much worth your time. So many city builders fall into the trap of wandering around the conventions of the genre, and they all start to blur together. This truly has a narrative, direction and original spirit. Would heartily reccomend!

The whole experience is cosy, with the right amount of challenge. It never tips into the intensity of a hardcore city builder. It’s complex enough to make you think about your choices, but never punishing, and it allows room for mistakes. The systems are simple and intuitive, with mechanics introduced progressively and organically. The controls are polished and responsive. There’s no configuration or keybinding support, and the game could definitely benefit from some keyboard shortcuts. That…

The People of Sea, Sun & Salt is one of those games that grabs you instantly with its calm atmosphere and clean, logical progression. It’s easy to get into — no overly complex mechanics — yet it still offers enough depth through smart planning and space management to keep you engaged. The gameplay loop feels smooth and rewarding, especially as you gradually expand your island. That said, it has a sneaky way of humbling you — just when you think you’ve built the perfect layout, the game…

Fun city builder. Not a puzzle game/point scoring by synergy game. Forgiving in being able to move buildings. Resource/worker management - with space being a resource.

A very cozy city-building puzzle game with amazing music. The gameplay is about building and expanding a city in a limited area. When playing it for the first time, the progression felt super smooth. Just wonderful, and I love it.
