Terms of Use

In Short
Rotten Tweets is a free, unofficial audience sentiment tracker for movies and TV shows. It is not affiliated with the studios, networks or platforms it covers, its scores are produced automatically and will sometimes be wrong, and if you tell us about a problem we will fix it.
Who Provides This Site
Rotten Tweets (“we”, “our”, “the site”), available at rottentweets.com, is operated by Freedom Games LLC (indie.io). By using the site you accept these terms.
Unofficial and Unaffiliated
Rotten Tweets is an independent service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or approved by X (Twitter), Rotten Tomatoes, TMDB, OMDb, or the studios, networks, distributors, creators or performers of the titles it covers. All trademarks, titles, character names, posters and other imagery remain the property of their respective owners and are used for identification and commentary.
Scores, Accuracy and Their Limits
Sentiment scores are calculated automatically by classifying publicly available posts about each title. The classification is imperfect: sarcasm, spoilers, jokes and off-topic posts can be misread, and scores for titles with few posts can swing sharply. Critic ratings and metadata come from third-party sources and may be incomplete or out of date. Nothing on the site is authoritative, and it should not be relied upon for any decision that matters.
If you spot an error, our contact page reaches a person, and we will correct it.
Posts Shown on the Site
We display short excerpts of public posts, attributed to their authors, to illustrate audience reaction. Copyright in those posts stays with their authors. If you wrote a post shown here and want it removed, contact us with the page URL and we will take it down. See our privacy policy for how that data is handled.
Rights Holders
If you own rights in material you believe is reproduced here beyond fair use, or you want a page about your work removed, contact us through the contact page with the page URL and a description of the problem. We act on genuine rights-holder requests quickly.
Using the Site
- Reading it, linking to it and quoting scores with attribution are all fine.
- Automated access must respect robots.txt and keep to a reasonable request rate.
- Do not attempt to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site.
No Warranty
The site is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Freedom Games LLC is not liable for any loss arising from use of, or reliance on, anything published here.
Changes
These terms may change; the date at the top changes with them. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.
