Guardians of Hylore is a time-wasting real-time strategy game in the likes of a mobile game but without microtransactions. It's like it was made for mobile devices for sure. Battles A battle takes up to 10 minutes. You have a tower to the left, the enemies' tower is to the right. Enemies spawn every few seconds and one big boss after around 60 seconds. You…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Why you shouldn't buy this game: 1-The game is very problematic. 2-The game is fun, but it takes a lot of time to load. 3-A game like a mobile game is not worth all the effort
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Shockingly bad even if it were $5 instead of 20. The art appears to be sourced from multiple artists with no overall style, so random enemies look ridiculous. The amount of text on the overworld map is so large that you can't even tell popups from map labels. Gameplay offers exactly 0 fresh ideas to the genre and you spend most of each map waiting for the suffering to end. Game itself feels like an asset flip that followed some Youtube tutorials, and looking at the codebase with DNSpy…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well it is fun, I was enjoying myself but the save game files get corrupted and then i lose all progress.....not happy to restart and I requested refund but not sure this will be refunded as I just went over 2hr mark.....
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →reminds me of epic war on kongregate, so if you like that i would recommend it. campaign and arena are both very grindy and in slowmo. 7/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This review is further detailed in the video below. Guardians of Hyelore is a diamond in a rough for those that enjoy the defense style of games. I am impressed by the amount of progression options and the amount of work that went into this. For the right price this is easily a day 1 buy for me. ✔️PROS ✔️A MASSIVE amount of progression. ✔️Lots of customization such as account level, units, guardian, equipment, towers, guardian items and talents. There is even a separate…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Quite messy and flawed, but was still fun so I recommend it when it's on heavy sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I do not recommend this game at full price. Perhaps on a sale, but I won't be playing this again until certain technical and balance issues are addressed. https://youtu.be/6TNOW78qap4
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a really great game if you're like me and you want to chill, without having the game being "too-passive". If you like the auto-battler genre because they're relaxing to play, but don't want something that feels too detached from having active gameplay, well this is a really good mix. Plus, the price is really right for what you're getting, so I recommend having a go.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This dev is one of the worst out there, stay away from his content! I'm not the only one to think so, the publisher that had the game under their umbrella cut ties with him as well. First of all, this trash game isn't worth your time even if it was free to play. It plays like a mobile game, reeks of Unity assets, the controls are abysmal, the information given to the player is shady at best (example, you can't know how many HP the healer will heal with his spell and you have no idea what it…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not worth $20 at all, but if you get it in a bundle or at a MASSIVE discount it's fun. Feels and looks like a free to play flash game, but has a $20 tag.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun little game to play for a bit if you can pick it up cheap.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The content is inconsistent with the price
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →good auto battler without any micro transactions. better buy and play this game than a "free game" that want suck your bank account empty later.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →https://youtu.be/AsZcu-s1Uq8 Game balance is askew as healer spam is highly effective while the limited map variety and enemy types keep the problem space far to limited to be compelling.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well made game, fun to play
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Feels, looks and plays like a mobile game. There are much, much better games like this on PC. Like Minion Masters. Why waste time on this one?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing! Love this game and it works 99% on the steam deck, just 3 small issues: The modals for the spell upgrades get cropped, I suspect that it's due to the aspect ratio? There's a bit of slowdown in the most intense battles (doesn't happen terribly often and it doesn't affect gameplay much The loading seems to get stuck around 90% and takes a while to finish I'd say the description texts being cropped is the biggest issue but I was still able to play the game through to the 3rd world…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game was fun but VERY short and VERY buggy... I would recommend if they added some replayability and fixed the bugs. Short: I have beat the game on the 2nd hardest difficulty in about 5 hours Gameplay issues: Do not have that much control over what skills you are awarded and can upgrade (for example can do a playthrough wanting to focus on archers but never be offered the archer damage talent, or never being offered an upgrade for it, even spending all your gems rerolling the talents you did…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Guardians of Hyelore is a fantasy action-strategy game developed and published by Megaglope Studios that blends real-time combat with army management and gradual progression. Rather than positioning itself as a traditional real-time strategy game with granular micromanagement, it focuses on the satisfaction of building an army, sending it into battle, and watching strategic preparation pay off over the course of extended encounters. The game leans heavily into accessibility, aiming to offer a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →unplayeble ♥♥♥♥ been playing hard did first lvl swap to normal one hero ♥♥♥♥♥♥ your whole army 3/10 ♥♥♥♥ dont buy
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Devs claim they balanced the game play, but there are so many obvious flaws that I don't believe it. Traits cost too much to reroll, certain traits absolutely cripple certain classes. For example, the Guard trait for Warriors force them to stop attacking, preventing them from fighting entirely if the enemy spams units. That is one of many problems. It's mostly playable until level 12. Hard pass
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Harder than I thought and the game doesn't explain how to beat secdon wave... Not sure about repayment seems good but cant get fun for now.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I came in hoping this was like Endless War, per another review. I made it 3 matches in and was already bored due to the slow speed and uninteresting units I could use. Refunded, which is rare for me.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TL;DR: I can't recommend this game at its current price. I'm going to be honest, I wanted to like this game. I'm a fan of the genre, and there was a lot of potential to be had here. However, Guardians of Hyelore doesn't deliver in the ways I wanted it to. For starters, the balancing between players and enemies is off - even on Medium I was having trouble getting significantly far into the game due to the difficulty curve. While upgrading my own units happens slowly (and on top of that I'm…
