I wish I could say I was impressed, but I wasn't. I finished in less than 2 hours. The plot wasn't that well written or great. Secret societies, ancient magic, saving the world from evil, blah blah blah, the usual. But nothing made the game stand out as unique among similar point-and-click games. It's a decent, casual point-and-click, but I wouldn't recommend buying it for full price (which is currently $10). Then again, I can be miserly.

Hotel - Collector's Edition (Cateia Games, 2010) While playing I planned on writing a recommendation for this game. Now that I've finished it I realise the thing as a whole has little merit and, aside from recommending it to long time adventure gamers, I honestly can't give a thumbsup to what I've experienced here. Why recommend it to long time adventure gamers? Because we'll play anything that is an adventure game, and so if you are one and you havn't yet played Hotel you may as well go…

If it's on sale for $1.99, then buy this game. I love a good point and click game because I'm all about a great narrative and interactive story. While Hotel may have soothed my craving for a good PNC, by no means did it satisfy me. Pros: 1.) Graphics are pretty decent (which you love to see in a good PNC). 2.) There are a few unexpected twists. Cons: 1.) The puzzles are so easy that you don't have to think very much, or at all, to pass them. 2.) The story goes from "weird" to "wtf"…

This is a very old Point&Click game so I'm not going to mention how outdated the graphics are even in the remastered version. Hotel game starts off with a young lady, a detective who is on vacation enjoying the beach, but her boss has a plan for her. Brightstone received a phone call which made her cut off her vacation and fly over to a 'hotel' where a robbery happened and the owner of the missing necklace fell into a coma. You'd think this would be a typical investigation but things started to…

More of a mixed rating than an outright downvote. This looks like a hidden-object puzzle adventure game, but it's not. There were no hidden object scenes. The closest was finding 9 parchments in a bookcase and items barely visible in the background. Puzzles were on the easy side but I liked them well enough. Originally, this was known as just "Hotel" and was a standard point-and-click adventure with a visible character you could move around. This was eventually changed to a more casual and…

Damn, I did not expect all that paranormal crap. The game is not what it looks like it wold be. I still hated the plot; it goes totally crazy like a total 180 of a normal detective game. The game wasn't entirely that bad imo, but still insane. Maybe worth if you're a hardcore fan of clickers and solvers.

If you like PNC adventure games, you might like this. It is mostly in 2.5D. The puzzles were just right: hard enough to be amusing but easy enough to avoid frustrating you. The story is a little slow at first, but gets interesting about half-way through. There are bits of voice acting at the beginning and at the end, but for most of the game you get the dialog by reading text. I got it on sale for about $3 and I feel I got my money's worth in entertainment.

From the beginning it's impossible not to noticed that the dialogue is atrocious. Not sure if it's a translation thing but our heroine says strange things. Every time she pulls off a task, she will congratulate herself and say things like, "I did that flawlessly. I should get a medal because I'm so great at everything!" Not even exaggerating here. Actual dialogue. Later when asked to be someone's friend she replies, "well you don't seem like an evil bastard." Huh? Who talks like that? The…

Game does not work in Windows 10; also it's so convoluted it's not worth trying. As of August 2023 the game works now, run it in Casual/Remastered mode. It actually looks pretty good. It's basic for a P&C Adventure Game, but I appreciate the developer's efforts in fixing the issues.

Super short, expect about 2 hours of gameplay. Unispired puzzles, mediocre graphics and cliche story. Probably not worth your time unless you are an avid fan of adventure games and the game is on sale, even then you may be disappointed.

Very Easy Low budget game with Good story. Well, as I try to critisize this game we have to start like this.. It is a low budget game from a company that uses to publish low budget games in general so... In graphics the things are like a little older from the starting 3D games. At least you'll see curves. The sketches are allright and the photos very good. The game does NOT support widescreen resolutions and actually NOT HD quality. Moving around is in good motion, not perfect but good and…

An interesting storyline, but really there is no challenge to this game. It was over way too quickly.. oh, and the 20 hours I have against it is merely because I left it open one night.. in reality you will finish this within a couple of hours

I think the mixed reviews are people who are confused, this game is 15 years old originally, and this is a remastered & og collectors edition. Someone such as myself who bought this when it first came out on disk back in 2010 I believe. I still have the original disk and I can always appreciate a remastered on a game I had good memories with. If there is one thing I would complain about, would be having all the 3d models stripped from the remastered version is sad, they are replaced with…

it's not a classic but it's an easy game for Point & Click adventure gamers. the puzzles are easy and the solution can mostly be found in the same screen or in the next one so there's not much back tracking which is good. the games has a cheap production value it seems. it shows in the short gameplay duration as you can finish the game in 3 or 4 hours. it also shows with the lack of voice-over so you only have a written dialog which is kinda boring. the story isn't that special also but again…

This game was alright. I am glad I got it part of a bundle and didn't pay too much for it. It is definitely not worth the full price. The storyline and plot was average and the graphics aren't that great. The gameplay could have been better, it was quite boring actually. I thought the game was going to be interesting, but it just.... wasn't. Do not buy this game at full price ($10), it is definitely not worth it. However, if you can get it really cheap then it might be worth a play through but…

For point and click adventures, this one was pretty dull. The mini game puzzles are ok but not as challenging or unique as I would have liked. The storyline progresses so linearly it seemed hardly worth it to keep going. So, in short, don't bother.

Brightstone Mysteries: Paranormal Hotel – Collector’s Edition is a supernatural mystery adventure developed and published by Cateia Games that blends hidden-object gameplay, puzzle-solving, and detective storytelling into a classic casual adventure experience. Set within an elegant yet unsettling hotel built upon the remains of an ancient Templar stronghold, the game immediately establishes an atmosphere of intrigue and suspense. What begins as an investigation into a missing necklace gradually…

I beat this game but honestly, after about 10 minutes of gameplay, it was out of sheer spite. The puzzles, what few there are, either aren't challenging or are barely coherent in what the objective is. There is little to no plot and what plot there is happens to be a even tackier version of the Mummy (the Tom Cruise one too, not even the so bad it's good Brendan Fraiser version). The decision to force the main character to walk through the very few very sparsely decorated areas is one I can't…

A short little game with some very interesting puzzles interspersed with a forgettable and excessively railroady plot, some each of really straight forward, "guess the item", and "I did something elsewhere which silently enabled this" puzzles, and pretty-but -grainy graphics. I do have to give the game props for having a "speedwalk" button and supporting double-click travel to rooms you've already visited. There are some games I've liked much better overall which I found myself giving up…

Recommended, because i like the early 2000 charme of it. Its pretty mediocre in terms of puzzles and story, so don't expect too much in these regards. What stands out is that the developer polished or modernized the user interface and refreshed the game on the technical side. They say they want to give a complete overhaul and port it to a new engine. Thats pretty impressive for them to care so much for their lirbrary of games. Theres two versions already. Hotel Collectors Edition is an old school 3D point-and-click adventure game where you play a detective from the NYPD and you're tasked with investigating a spooky old hotel in a castle. While the game has working support for 4K, it's pillarboxed and doesn't support 16:9 aspect ratio (despite being released in 2010!). The graphics are a little dated. For fans of older point and click adventures who are still using a 4:3 CRT monitor with 4K resolution, I can recommend this. For everyone…

"Lame" would be the best word to describe this apology for a game. Lame, lazy storytelling. Lame, cringey dialogues and characters that make you wonder what the hell the authors were smoking. No voiceovers, except for the opening and the final scenes. The puzzle "difficulty" is a joke (putting together an eight-piece letter, picking up the only collectible item and using it on the only active hotspot in the room, etc.). 95% of the time you're just running back and forth to perform one mundane…

The game overall was entertaining, but I regret having paid $10 for it. The full game only took me around 3 hours to complete and the puzzles/mysteries were not challenging enough to get me fully hooked on the game. However, I loved the old-style graphics and cut scenes!

Full disclosure: I got this in a bundle for roughly .56 cents USD, so I'm honestly basing my review on that price. I have to admit, I am not the target audience of this type of game. Point and click games usually require patience and a willingness to fetch quest, both things that I lack. Also, they require critical thinking skills, and I'm about as smart as a toaster. So I freely admit to spending the first hour wandering around and accomplishing things, even though they made no logical sense…

Short, easy, full of cliches, but if you like adventure games you should play this one too. I give 7/10 . + Nice graphics + Hotspots + No tedious movement in this game ( doubleclick to move to next location, spacebar to speed up walking ) - No voice acting (except in two cutscenes) - Crashes on startup (just keep launching it, it will run eventually) - Lenght (about 3,5 hours if you examine everything, dont skip dialogues etc) - Only 4:3 screen format

Well, it's a pretty easy game, very linear, but entertaining enough if you got it on sale for a few bucks (6,99 euro current normal price, is too much IMHO) (I got it in a bundle if I'm not mistaken). The biggest thing I missed was the speech, the intro and the final video do have spoken lines, but that's about it. The story is simple but likable, the puzzles are pretty easy, and no 'dead' ends..
