Let me start from basics, I didn’t like the game. Mechanics is not intuitive, if it was 2014 game I wouldn’t say anything but it is supposed to be new… dragging objects you want to use instead of clicking and hoping you’ll hit just the right spot, moving back and forward to pick up the same item that is used in two scenes, map that requires 3 clicks before you can move to desired area, simply annoying. The description of the game says “unbelievable investigation” but I only got bored and…

Oof, this one is a bit complicated. Maybe a notch above 'meh'. I had a lot of issues that kept me from enjoying the game. It had potential, it really did. Not that it mattered but I have to mention that the game has a male protag which is rare in the genre. PROS: > The graphics look nice! The HO scenes were actually pretty okay! Hardly any stockphoto items so it was very easy on the eyes. > Windowed mode allowed! > A very handy-dandy zoom in mouse scroll for tired eyes! > A very handy-dandy…

I'll give this a provisional recommendation, as the story outweighs some of the clunky mechanics. If you get it in a bundle or on special, go for it, otherwise play something else. A 55/100 effort. The good Excellent story for this kind of game Superb backgrounds and visuals Some very challenging puzzles De-emphasises HO in favour of story Reasonable music The bad Clunky interface and mechanics A couple of tracing games that are way out of place in a HOG Amateur theatre society level voice…

Ultra-classic HOG game in the purest tradition of the genre. Nothing to complain about in particular. The puzzles are absurd until the climax: find a shovel to dig up a pickaxe, put a gem in a hole to open a closet that contains a key that opens a closet that contains a gem to put in a hole that opens another closet with another key, etc. etc. The positive points are the illustrations and the soundtrack as often in this kind of game, to note some other pros: Ability to zoom x2 on the screen…

This game has so many little problems that pills up that it's complicated to explain why and how you reach the point where you stop and say "no, I can't recommend that game, I'm done." The feeling for me began when I looked around for ten minutes what I was supposed to do with those mosaics with the roman numbers until I get that during the day there was a painting with the right number under. Then it became worse, especially with the map green indicator telling you "I should come back later"…

a good story driven HOG that ends up being frustrating. pros. good story nice art work i like the colored coded combinable items decent play time (around 3 and half hours for the main story) nice plot twist at the end cons. sometimes you have no idea on what to do as there are no clear indication on what to do sometimes the puzzles are just frustrating and make no sense the voice acting (apart from the main protagonist) is awful after sometime the game just gets boring as it wont grab u into…

This is a casual point and-and-click adventure with a few hidden-object scenes and puzzle mini-games. Skip this one. While the storytelling is OK, the game engine is rough, awkward, and buggy. You have to click and drag objects, which is already an annoying mechanic, but often clicks won't register and you will miss objects and actions even though you did the right thing. Map navigation is a nightmare. Even without the clunky engine, game design is unreasonably difficult. At some point I…

Avoid, too much nonsense, too annoying. Completed a puzzle, felt a sense of relief rather than a sense of accomplishment. Voice acting, I'll just say I didn't like it and would have preferred if it wasn't even in the game. Script: grates. The characters will repeat their lines over and over if you click them more than once. Hunt the pixel / patch or get tired of pixel hunting and just use the hints far too often because of very non-obvious puzzles like digging open some random bit of wall…

Out of all of the HOG I've ever played, this one is probably the most "intricate" and most like an authentic mystery game. It has similar gameplay to Nancy Drew, which is amazing since Nancy Drew is my all-time favorite game series, BUT, this game has a lot of issues that ended up with me giving it a negative rating. First of all, the game had a great storyline UP UNTIL IT SAID that Pagan rituals are "obscene". Excuse me, but clearly the creators and writers of this game have no clue what…

pros + a intriguing and cool story about family curse and a secret cult which worships to a entity. + nice looking background graphics + four difficulty options + a few enjoyable mini games and some puzzles. when you combine multiple items you can make new items in your inventory + some hidden object scenes enjoyable + protagonist's voice acting ok for an HO game + changing time of day is a cool mechanic + there is map + hint system helpful + cool background musics + game is not too short +…

It's decent, but compared to most other HOG I would avoid this one. Many things were designed in an annoying way. Some puzzles require very precise mouse clicks. Other things require pixel hunting. I skipped around 4 puzzles because they were buggy or made no sense. Considering they don't even have trading cards or achievements I don't think it's worth the time. The only reason I finished the game was because I played on easy and used the hint button a lot.

I'll be honest. I want to say yes. I really do. There were mechanics I'd not come across before, or at least were executed differently (like how to combine objects) and I was invested in the story, mostly but. Several minigames just would not work. I tried for 15 minutes to get the checkers minigame to do anything other than have the piece I moved not just reset to the beginning. A few 'get this item to get the next item to get the next item' felt over done. And not the puzzle towards…

Very much intriguing and challenging "Hidden Object" Quest with its own atmosphere and thrill. 'Lot of interesting puzzles to solve and charming places to watch. Enjoy.

I thought this was a fun standard HO game. I felt the other reviews were harsh and undeserving. This is a good player on the HO stage. Played normal level. Felt the map traveling was clear. Was patient on paying attention to the cursor. It let you know where you needed to be. It was a bit longer than the usual HO games I play so that was a plus. I did skip 2 puzzles just because I was feeling lazy and didn't want to take the time to sit and do it correctly. This deserves a higher…

https://youtu.be/00bm1EA4X7k Offering locations at different time of day is a good mechanic thread to pull on but as used in this game it's just a coat of paint with no real hooks to switching between day and night.

Occultus - Mediterranean Cabal takes the familiar hidden-object adventure formula and gives it an appealing Mediterranean identity built around mystery, historical surroundings, and supernatural intrigue. Developed by Sylphe Labs and published by M.INDIE, the game is primarily aimed at players who enjoy methodical exploration, visual searches, traditional puzzles, and stories involving secret organizations. Rather than relying on action or demanding mechanical systems, it encourages players to…

Doesn't work on ultra-wide monitors - the top and bottom of the screen are cut off, sometimes including the inventory. There aren't any options for other aspect ratios and turning off full-screen gave me the same ratio but in a tiny window. I thought I soft-locked myself in the intro because I couldn't figure out how to stop the carriage, but it turns out I needed to talk to the driver that was off-screen and could only be seen by right-clicking at the top edge of the screen to zoom in. The…

There was some promising stuff in this, but many of the puzzles were nonsense and the instructions frequently were of little help. Also, the final revelation of the bad guys' plot is that it's utterly stupid. Only for truly hardcore fans of the form.

Game mechanics- Early on the game you are given the power to go from day to night (skip time in ~12h increments). This game is... okay. There's nothing stand-out about it, everything is simply... fine. The voice acting is more irritating than anything, however, and the puzzles don't make up for the poor story.

I played the easiest mode and have Windows 10. The game ran smoothly. IMO the game is a bit of a higher difficulty, but you can use the help feature or skip puzzles & mini games. I will definitely replay it. The HOPs were interactive and original which made them interesting and challenging. I recommend for those who like variety. There is a tool that shows you where you have an available action, and lets you jump to it. Since there are a lot of locations, this is a very good thing.…

Very atmospheric with good graphics and soundtrack ! OK , so the gameplay could be improved, personally I don't mind the drag and drop though . A bit more annoying is the fact that the map doesn't always indicate where you have to go, but if you're really stuck you can hit the hint button.

I got some mystery keys for a sum of money and this one of the titles from Fanatical.com that I ended up with. This is going to be rather biased simply on the premise that I can't abide games like these anyway. So I can't say I'm impressed. That said, I've never been impressed with hidden object games for a long time simply because I think the PC gaming market is simply awash with them and they are a blight upon mine eyes and have been so for nigh on just over a decade even though they've been…

Despite frequent freezing (which may well be my computer, I didn't feel like taking the time away from the game to trouble shoot because I just wanted to get back into it and restarting the game worked just fine since it autosaves after every action just about), I had a great time with this game, so much so that I ended up playing the whole thing in one sitting because I just HAD to see how it turned out, how these items fit together, etc. The story took me in a direction I didn't fully expect,…
