44 of 44 · most liked firstCall me old-fashioned, but if I'm playing a game called Mystery Castle I expect to spend my time exploring a mysterious castle. Hidden object games have a tendency to defy expectations though, and this one does so in some pretty unwelcome ways. The lack of a castle is one, but the lack of exploration or engaging puzzles or even functional object scenes are far greater issues. I'd say the real secret here isn't worth delving into, but we're here already so we might as well talk about it. You…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →IMPORTANT BUG PREVENTING FINISHING THE GAME IN LAST SCENE! Spoiler/prevention: Place the skulls LAST. Otherwise the puzzle for the last skull won't be available anymore. You will have to redo the whole game. Also, the game lack creativity in the last few scenes (very quick). It feels rushed near the end.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short version: 83% Great hidden object scenes, dozens of small stories to keep the player continuously invested, astonishing graphics… if Mystery Castle wouldn’t last this short, it could have been a perfect hidden object game. Long version: Whatever you are looking for in a hidden object game—good hidden object scenes, large puzzle variety, beautiful artwork, or writing that creates a memorable atmosphere and manages to keep the player interested—Mystery Castle: The Mirror’s Secret has it…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a decent hidden object game except for one issue and it is a MAJOR one. Relatively linear game play which I believe is the problem. As others have mentioned, at the end of the game if you do actions in an order NOT intended by the developer, you will NOT be able to complete the game. It is very discouraging after playing a game for 6+ hours that it cannot be completed. So, if you do break down and buy the game, BE SURE WHEN YOU GET TO THE SECTION WHERE YOU CAN FREE THE LITTLE GIRL…

Designed by Micheal Gottlieb and Wally Welch, art by Dan Hughes. This solid state features three flippers and three ramps. Located at Kidforce Pinball, Berea, OH.

The game overall is pretty mediocre to the core. There must be a hidden object template out there where you simply insert your own content; or at least that's what it seems like. The storyline is pretty weak, graphics are average but the hidden object elements were nicely done and that's why I really play these games.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Casual hidden object game about ghosts in mystery castle. It has linear plot, pretty graphics (although it isn't perfect). There is no mature content, it's definitely suitable for all ages. 3 hours is enough to complete it on hard difficulty with no hints whatsoever. Don't expect very original plot or puzzles. It's just a decent, relaxing, definitely casual, short game. GRAPHICS: 7/10 AUDIO: 6/10 GAMEPLAY: 7/10 STORY: 5/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this is an good looking but pretty bad, short and broken hog game with repetetive gameplay, cliched story and mostly bad puzzles. There's also a glitch in the game prevents to finish game. If you go to the table on the right, then leave, it won't let you go back. You need to do everything there at once. just skip this one and save your money for better hog games.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'am surprised by the quality of this game! It's the perfect point and click for a calm time or to show to your mother. With languages, tutorials and beautiful art and music.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Was a great game until I got fairly far into it and was in the kitchen scene making a recipe. Clicked on the last required item to plug a pipe and the game froze on me. As a quality assurance engineer in the computer software industry and former game tester, I know these things happen, but it did prevent me from continuing in the game and, in fact, required a hard boot of my PC (and an automatic check of the C drive by my laptop). After the hard reboot and trying again (with the same result) I…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →good game except for the bug in the end scene where you can't get back to a puzzle to solve to finish the game. I am assuming that if you do things in the right order at the end then you can finish it, but I am not about to take the time to start from scratch just so I can say I finished it. Good game with a bad ending because of a unresolved bug. Valve - why do you sell us stuff with bugs so we can't finish the game?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →creepy 0/10 Really fun game, graphics are good. Highly recommmend this game! AGAIN and AGAIN! P/S You are going to have to try the demo. http://www.bigfishgames.com/games/7932/mystery-castle-the-mirrors-secret/
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The last scene has a bug that makes it impossible to progress without changing some files around.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is a very meh hidden object game. I actually didn't mind you would have one scene at a time available, but the rest of the game is pretty dated and very mediocre. I couldn't get it working on Linux with Proton at all, had to play it on Windows.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →[mild spoilers] bugged in many ways. After many years of the game's release it still has lots of bugs. Most of the negative reviews talk about the ending not being accessible. But in my case I didn't even get to finish the game. Half way through the game at the garden part, when I did the flowers in the book puzzle the game froze for a brief moment and then the book appeared again and it won't go away (even if the scene behind it looked like it had changed??), making the game impossible to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If I could give this a middling review I would. It wasn’t all bad. I thought the art and the designs were really nice. The voice acting is very nice. And the game starts out well it is pretty fast paced and not a lot of mucking about and fun puzzles. But as the game goes on the puzzles get more obtuse and silly. Culminating in a puzzle that is match these foods with these colors. Which is pretty original and a neat idea for a puzzle except the execution of the puzzle is terrible. An…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short Hidden Object Game about a mother trying to save her daughter from an evil spirit. There isn't a map, you'll have to solve the puzzles and HO scenes of each location to proceed, so no backtracking. Graphics are nice, the entire game has a slightly "horror" setting and this is a good change from most HOGs on Steam, unfortunately the cutscenes and the few dialogues are nothing special. Achievements are in-game only, 4 difficulty settings, sadly there isn't a bonus chapter or other extras…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →negative, The game was enjoyable to play for the first day or 2 and then I try to open it back up and all it will do is give me fatal errors and close. No help!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a run of the mill hidden object puzzle game. There's no proper widescreen support on this one (4:3 stretched) but they're charging $10 for it anyway, it's unacceptable. Fans of hidden object games would do better to play one with proper 16:9 support.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice mysterious experience, with fun puzzles in the mix :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Do NOT waste your money or time on this game. I love hidden objects games and got this one joyfully and have played over 10 hours only to reach the end and the game is glitched!!!!!! It will NOT LET YOU FINISH! As far as I can find, there have been plenty of complaints regarding this, but no update has been provided to fix this problem. I am EXTREMELY disappointed and will NEVER PURCHASE another game from this company. If I find any other games from them that are similarly glitched, I will…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You know when you're playing a hidden object game, and every facet of it seems to have been done by the 'B team'? That's this game. The animations aren't quite up to snuff, the the voice acting is pretty poor, and the hidden object games and mini games just aren't as well done. The mini games are mostly super simple - move the objects to the side to see the picture, or place items into the slot that suits their silhouette (you know, like a toddler's puzzle), that sort of thing. There are some…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Story is super weak even for a HOG--bad guy captures girl, save girl--but the puzzles and settings are satisfying and fun. I enjoyed it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My only issue with this game has been the sheer inaccuracy of the things hidden in the puzzles. A funnel is NOT a watering can, and an x-ray film is NOT a recipe, for example. Sadly, this is a common occurance in every HOG I've played to date.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First of all thie games story was pretty interesting and I got my money out of it which I bought in a bundle and it came out to be like .30 cents in all. The only thing I had a problem with is it seemed like the ending was hurried. Maybe they had to hurry up and ship and the cash was running out. Good fun puzzle with hidden objects game.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mystery Castle: The Mirror's Secret developed by Meridian'93 and published by Fulqrum Publishing is a hidden-object puzzle adventure set within a cursed medieval castle steeped in dark magic and lingering spirits. Built around a classic rescue premise, the story follows a desperate parent searching for their kidnapped daughter, Jessica, who has fallen into the clutches of a malevolent entity known as Groth, the Soul Reaver. The journey unfolds room by room within the castle’s shadowed halls,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice and short. Mostly finding hidden objects. Very easy difficulty. Presentation is very nice and perfect for when you need a couple hours of chill.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A good game based upon a linear progression of tasks in a wide variety of themes.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not the hardest of HO games, quick to initially complete, but needs more than one play through to get everything. All in all, not a the worst way to spend a few hours
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A decent HOG with no truly great elements. Everything is done adequately, but nothing truly stands out in this game. The story is similar to a couple other HOGs here on steam and none of the puzzles are reinventing the wheel or anything. I did run into a bug at the end of the game as well, which prevents you from finishing the in-game trophy collection. Ultimately its a middling entry in the genre and not worth buying by itself, although as part of a bundle or on deep discount it could be a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pros +Unique puzzles +HO scenes are pretty good +Navigating via paintings is a fun idea for a HOG +Voice acting isn’t terrible Cons +Very linear (can’t even go back) +Game ends abruptly. Clear the ending was rushed +Trophy issues +No achievements / cards Mystery Castle had a little potential with some unique puzzles and interesting way of getting around via paintings. However, all together it falls apart and leaves a lot to be desired. The classic, super thin plot of a daughter taken by an…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Got the game on sale. I thought it gave both cute and creepy vibes which I found very enjoyable. I had no issue finishing the game like others mentioned and I was happy to have completed it. ^_^
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →best puzzle game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →https://youtu.be/k7qPnU30_98 Moving from from one disconnected room to anouther puts far too much pressure on the narrative connections that are not up the challenge of pulling together a cohesive story.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The end has a bug and most of the game is made hard by hunting pixels.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun if you like mystery games
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I completely loved this game. The locations were varied and full of amazing surprises. It's beautiful, creative and engaging. The puzzles were absolutely wonderful. There were so many of them in so many varieties that it was challenging and riveting. Locations were clever, ingenious, beautiful and fully interactive. The Hidden Object scenes were a step above most HOPA games in the way items are hidden and mini puzzles are layered within each scene adding a ton of game play time and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short but fun HOG, for beginners. Easy puzzles, fast gameplay, nice art-style. Cons: very short, no achievements (there are in-game trophies, not sure why they don't just integrate it in steam).
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolutely great hog game, beautiful, engaging and fun to play, it is pretty far up on my favorite hog games list :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tags: Tycoon&Simulator&Sim&City Additional Tags: Delete Local Content & Remove from Library TLDR: Pixelhunting. Simple hotspot inventory puzzles. Forgettable plot. Might keep you busy for a short while. Not worth holding on to. Decent scenes and art but story and puzzle design is at least on par with most hidden object games. This is a typical paranormal abduction type of deal, so you the game resorts to magic quite a bit to transport you from location to location and move the so called…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →a really enjoyable fastpaced HOG with good voice acting. pros. good voice acting ok graphics ok music fast paced cons. the second half of the game is "too fast" feels like it was rushed pretty short (2 hours and 16 minutes) there are some dialouge mistakes with the italian cook. he says some different words than the subtitles. overall i did enjoy the game but since it is so short i will give it a 5/10 i recommend this game but only on a heavy discount.
