26 of 26 · most liked first7.0/10 - A Movie or a Game? Overall I'm really excited about this Movie. I mean game. I am pleased to inform you the story indeed doesn't take place in Toledo, Ohio. Phew! My initial problem with the first was the controls, they were much less fluid than this game. Everything seems to be so much better with this game. Loving it. It reminds me of a Telltale game without the decisions and interactive elements. There are some Point and Click puzzles and travel requirements, but for the most…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game won in a giveaway on Steam Gifts. AGON - The Lost Sword of Toledo is a captivating well-told point and click puzzle game. The story is top-notch and has a nice proper arc. People compare this game to a movie and I think story-wise that fits, though there is a ton of gameplay! I wouldn't call it a movie simply because there is so much gameplay. The voice acting fits the game well. The puzzles have a lot of neat parts to them, though some are too complicated for my liking. Few main…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There are good point and click games and there are bad ones. This is a bad one. The graphics are only mediocre. The dialogues are boring and tough. It gets bored very quickly. Too little puzzles.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Good: Rarely-explored setting is a welcome change; good selection of challenging puzzles; nice sampling of cultural music; another great vocal performance by the main protagonist. The Bad: Scenic possibilities under-utilized; graphics looking dated; some unfortunate puzzle choices; little connection to series story arc; waaaaay too much reading. 6/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a great game!! Tons of cutscenes to consist making this game a movie/game! The details in this game are amazing! Along with the animations of objects opening up. Voice acting and music feels well done for its time. If you are fan of point and click games get this game! Pros 360 degree panning Subtitles available Animation Steam Trading Cards In-game journal records most dialogue Ambient sounds and background music add atmosphere Voice acting Different type of puzzles (multi-stepped,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →pros + nice looking pre rendered graphics + decent voice acting + comic book style cut scenes + some hard to solve but enjoyable puzzles. there are also inventory puzzles you can combine some items + nice background musics + intriguing story and characters + game drops cards cons - first-person 360-degree view controls clunky and not comfortable - there are some contrived/obtuse puzzles that either you have to read too much to solve or you need to have some technical knowledge about…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is way better than the first AGON game (The Mysterious Codex, the Trilogy). It is a single story, full of interesting characters and puzzles. I dare say this story was more interesting even than Yoomurjak's Ring's story. I won't get too much into it, but the only thing I missed while playing this game was feeling like a tourist in Toledo, like I felt in Eger (in Yoomurjak's Ring). Regarding the puzzles, there are two or three really obnoxious ones that it's not even worth burning…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →AGON - The Lost Sword of Toledo, developed by Private Moon Studios and published by M.INDIE, is a traditional point-and-click adventure that embodies the design philosophy of late-2000s narrative puzzle games. As part of the broader AGON series, it follows Professor Samuel Hunt, a scholarly historian affiliated with the British Museum, whose travels once again entangle him in a web of historical intrigue and intellectual mystery. Set against the richly textured backdrop of Toledo, Spain, the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice game, adventure in the right sense - Travel around the world. I've played it only recently, but this was a very good game for it's time. I remember the good reviews, but I forgot about it, and I rediscovered it just now. I'm sorry that the final part never came out...
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tags: Adventure - WC - Walk Clicker Additional Tags: Delete Local Content & Remove from Library TLDR: Swimming camera between still scenes make for uninteresting and dated gameplay. Text heavy. Small environments with slow progression. Walkthrough required.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →interesting game not much of a game but a very interesting story the grathics look like potato but the story is interesting 7/10 have not finished it yet
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Lost Sword of Toledo.. episode 4 of the AGON series, is an improvement on the original game. The graphics have been slightly improved, but most importantly so has the controls. It is still the same silly panning / plotted-movement system.. though it feels more streamlined and forgiving this time around. Aside from that we have another plethora of interesting puzzles to project you through the (not-so-interesting) storyline. 6/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Chapter Four--The Lost Sword of Toledo: After a hiatus of two years, chapter 4 came out. This is a full game unto itself, about as long as the first three chapter combined. It should have been shorter, but it really gets bogged down at the start with reading and hearing the background story. Hardly anything happens that the player can control for a really really long time. This undoubtedly contributed to its bad reviews, which put the kibosh on any further chapters. Thus the game ends…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i dont normally review a game before finishing it, however in this case as someone who loved the prequel was hugely disappointed by this.. to much dialogue doesn't quite seem enough of a criticism, never ending strings of sentences that go on and on infinitum. By comparison to the last game its less indiana jones and more like a Agatha Christia novel, which is damn shame. Your suppose to be a professor of archaeology not a seasoned detective! It feels more like a soap opera, the excess…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm only 2 hours into it, and I'm royally stuck. I don't know at this point if I'll get a walkthrough & finish it. Pros: -Great and interesting story. It says it is based on a true story. -graphics and color very nice -movement is smooth. Less jerky than other games. It's as if you simply turn your head to look down, around, etc., so there are no awkward angles. There are no zooming in/out rushes to give you nausea. -Likeable and interesting characters. Cons: - I'm already stuck with 2…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The mystery and Toledo setting are genuinely well done, but a couple of puzzles break the game's own logic. Specifically, a kaleidoscope-order puzzle and an early password that requires appending an arbitrary Roman numeral are both called out as having no real in-game hints or logical basis — they're solvable only by looking up the answer online rather than through the deduction the rest of the game rewards. A separate reviewer's breakdown of the design also notes the pacing feels unbalanced,…
