60 of 138 · most liked firstThis turn-based roguelite takes the framework of the original game and improves upon it in every way. There's more content, more/better unit classes, more replay value and more things to unlock from each run (so each run is more rewarding). I think the difficulty curve is also more forgiving (but still very challenging to complete a run). If you don't have the original game, skip it and buy this one instead. If you do have the original game, you can buy this one for 50% off (that deal might be…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The same RNG ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ as it's predecessor, just with a few more additions and gimmicks. The core gameplay is still as flawed. Your runs and progression are determined by the loot you get, which on the other hand is based on brainless grinding. Strategy is secondary and thus the whole premise only an illusion. So it's one of those pseudo roguelites where it's absolutely impossible to beat the game, unless having grinded gear to a certain degree. If you have so much spare time to noddle it away…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is BROKEN!!! Or at least it feels that way, most of the reviews are extremely positive and praise the combat above all else. Maybe I'm missing something, but I've beaten the final boss after seven hours of trying to figure out why I couldn't make it past the romans. For six hours I tried distributing resources, positioning strategicaly, securing choke points, etc, but it was never enough. I would always end up with two dead champions and an almost dead tank. Then I spent an extra…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A perfect game for the Steam Deck. I was looking for a pick up and play tactics game, that immediately got into game play, and was easy to read on the smaller screen. Warriors of the Nile 2 is that game and I am having a blast. Art style looks fantastic, descriptions and info are straightforward. The difficulty curve is working really well... besides the last boss on Chapter 3. ++Love the art ++Well balanced tactics game play My few critiques -- I would like to see the mobility of the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm a big fan of Warriors of the Nile 1 and part 2 does everything that made the first one great and more. There's more heroes, more diverse levels, more tablets, and more strategic fun. If you don't know, this is a strategic turn-based rogue-lite with meta progression. As you play, you get further and further in and earn new characters and abilities. The game is just like chess in that every move carries significant weight and consequence. There is an element of RNG, but you can't get…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a great sequel Much more content that the previous one A huge extra mode after finish the game is a plus And much more less RNG that the previous one Can recommend
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Warriors of the Nile is a roguelike strategy RPG that has you take a party of 3 warriors across a series of encounters to eventually fight the final boss. Like most roguelikes, there is no real story or reason why you do this beyond the game itself. Combat plays in a way that is likely familiar to anyone who plays games in this genre. You control your party members, they can each move and then attack, and then the enemy goes, moving and attacking. Your goal in every encounter is simply to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am not too far into the game yet, but since it is a small indie game, I want to give my review in case people are wondering if it is good or not. So far the game is very similar to the previous one with some pleasant addition to the mechanics and lots of content. If you like a fast tactical rogue-like game resembling FF tactics and Disgaea Warriors of the Nile 2 is for you. There are not many games like this, so I recommend it without a doubt. I want to mention that the previous title was…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Warriors of the Nile 2 is a tactical rogue-lite game where you control 3 characters, a front line fighter/tank, a ranged attacker/glass cannon, and a mage for big brain moves. After every battle you get rewards, usually in the form of permanent power ups for the characters that can have a massive effect on how you play the characters. (For my part, I love how every run I seem to have a different MVP based on who got the best bonuses). You play through three chapters of increasing difficulty…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't usually do reviews, but I enjoyed the game, saw it could use something of a score boost, and I was annoyed when I saw a negative review from a person about getting "RNG screwed. I have had success with literally every character, playing around whatever options I get that look strong. Lost my first game, haven't lost since and now I'm at difficulty 40. Pros: Cute art Dopamine hits from good items Fun core gameplay loop Frequent updates No character feels unusable Cons: Maybe a little…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty good and interesting roguelike with a nice animation style and music. I can’t say that this is the game that you need to buy right here and now, but you definitely won’t regret buying a game with a big discount during the sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In one sentence, this is rogue-like game with grid-based combat mechanism, played on much smaller maps. Having clocked 20+ hrs, I would say that I'm a big fan for a few simple reasons: 1. the game is very easy to pick up. No steep learning curve 2. the controller support is perfect! I have not encountered a single bug 3. the game play is fun, with macro-progression and high replay value I would highly recommend lovers of strategy games to give it a try!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →9/10 amazing. so polished, looks amazing, feels so smooth to play. after each round u get a passive bonus, but it's smart stufff that forces u to change the gameplay, like a bonus if u move alot or not at all. really a gem, i recommend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is better than I thought a roguelite tactics game could be. It's incredibly easy to pick up and play, no real tutorial sections, but with a lot of depth. Must-play for anyone who likes tactics games imo.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is criminally underrated, one of the funniest roguelikes on the market. Good aesthetics, the characters are adorable, and the music is pretty enjoyable. The gameplay of each character is unique and interesting, and the replayability is good. A shame that it did not sell well.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its just a really fun game! I dont know if its "balanced" (whatever that means) it is just fun to get as broken as possible
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Incredible. Such an addicting blend of the tactical RPG and roguelike genres. Excellent meta progression drives you forward for at least a dozen or two hours, while the delightful variance of each playthrough could easily sustain several dozen more. I kind of wish I could erase my brain and go through the prequel and this game again -- they were that good, on a super fundamental level that is rare in gaming these days.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the the best strategy games I've played in a while. It has great depth, a very satisfying progression and is highly tactical yet easy to learn. The details they provide such as attack range, casting area, as well as skill/tablet descriptions are all clear in my opinion. I love the variety of heroes in this game as well. Underrated game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Is this a decent game? Sure. Is this worth full price of $15? Not really. The game runs more like a $4 mobile game and I can see why many people are saying it's a "grind until you can win" game. It has very little strategy, 1 or 2 S+ synergy builds with all other builds D/F in comparison, and the "map" isn't really a roguelike map in the STS sense; it's more a straight line with 1-3 choices at every single step (aka, there's no "planning" ahead to reach certain nodes, you will always hit…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Up there in the top tier with 'Into The Breach' for this genre. Lots of fun combos to try out among party members and it can get really crazy with 1 character wiping the entire battlefield in a single turn. Enough RNG that you won't be able to overwhelm the game all the time, since the skills you need would have to appear during the runs. Game is quite short with just 3 chapters and can be completed in like 7 attempts, but there's hard mode and unlockables that give it much more replayability.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Turn-Based Strategy + Roguelite • 9 different playstyle characters • Tons of combinations • Satisfying variety • Challenging
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The best game Rougelite played this year has a high degree of completion, which is a little hard to imagine. It is an independent game work of a small team. The click feedback is simple and straightforward, and the operation is extremely smooth after being skilled, At present, the first three person team has passed the customs and is studying the second and third teams. The Scorpid Priestess is not very skilled, but the skill design is very innovative. I am very happy to meet such a good game…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the best turn-based strategy games that I have ever played. Quite the hidden gem. Would love a third game in the series!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a cool little game. Tons of replay value; it's essentially a broken build simulator a la Path of Achra
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love this game. As the next installment is great, it keeps what was good in the last game (challenges, difficulties, game progression) and gives us more, with more characters to choose from, more challenge difficulties, and more play-styles. It really delivers! If you liked the previous game, you will definitely like this one. It's amazing!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's damn good if you like Turn based rpg like FFT or Ogre Battle. It's a roguelite, so you'll be lvling up your heros and unlocking new abilties, and it have challenges that will make the game harder and harder as you win, similar to Slay the spire ascensions. Works flawlesly on steam deck, and it's an awesome game to have on the go for quick plays. Buy it ;]
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hidden gem of the turn based roguelites. Fun and easy to learn with many abilities to choose from and talent trees. And it has a cool Egyptian theme. What's not to love? Only small downside is that game is not really compatible with Steam Deck which is a shame because this would be the ideal game to play on a portable machine. Edit: They finally added controller support, works great on Steam Deck now. Text is a bit small, hopefully they can also come up with a solution for that.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's the original, but better! More buildings, gear, better gear, more morphs and more creative ones, it's very good for turn based strategy, one of the best for sure!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very cool little game. Really happy that they have a bunch of goals, even not being EA. It's a total and solid game. The loops are very rewarding. Building the scorp mage is fun AF. She just annihilates the board when run right. Barely need the other units. xD
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Easily recommended for fans of turn-based tactics and roguelikes. No story but the battles/game loop are fun enough to carry it several runs. Buying characters and base upgrades lets you feel like you are making some progress even when the run doesn't turn out. Some of the genre-staple unwinnable battles until you unlock a few things. Great variety of classes that all play differently.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game. Start is pretty rough: have to understand all the mechanics, upgrade base, open new mechanics. Once you get the hang of it, game becomes fairly easy. Many broken builds and heroes/champs. Main advise - don't be afraid to experiment, just make sure that you are not running challenges, basic upgrades will carry you ;) I enjoyed playing the game a lot, maybe will speedrun this one later on.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A hidden gem. I really wished they'd make a third one.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just an amazing game really... I really hope they are making a warriors of nile 3
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the best roguelite of all time. It flows perfectly, has great balancing and the animations are extremely satisfying.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First few runs were bit of a slog but once you unlock a bunch of stuff it gets way more fun. High replayability.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →WoN 2 is a rogue like grid based strategy game. It is kind of like Slay the Spire mixed with Fire Emblem Heroes (yeah the mobile one). It is a sequel to WoN 1 and it is quite polished. In terms of contents, pretty much the same game as the previous one but with expanded buildings and different characters/traits (tablets)/equipment. The best part of this game is to create totally broken characters with different combinations of traits that allow you to beat the broken enemies at the end. So if…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A neat tactical casual game, a game you don't have to get too invested to enjoy, but if you do, you'll enjoy the wonderful incremental bonuses that add up to make your heroes the champs.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun turn based tactics - easy to learn and lots to unlock and improve
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun little tactical roguelike. Keeps it pretty simple, not too deep, but that makes it really easy to do another run after you finished one.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There is too little strategy for strategy game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really fun turn-based tactics rougue-lite! Colorful graphics, quick snappy gameplay/missions, small maps, easy to jump in and out of. Honestly just a well done game perfect for shot sessions, with a decent amount of strategy still involved. I can highly recommend it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →so addictive, it's fun. unfortunately there's no wiki or website about this game, so you have to figuring yourself how the item or skill works here. and it suck because some items/skill didn't work at all.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is a casual tactical rogue-lite. It is perfect for the steam deck. One of the main selling points of the game is the simplicity in it. You have three actions, move, attack and miracle. You also only have three characters, so the optimal, or semi-optimal plays are relatively easy to figure out and that rather quickly. The strategic gameplay, which is the "map" that connects the different battles you have to encounter, is also extremely simple in terms of what you have to do, so you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →(Edit: Flipping this review to positive since while I've not verified that they've fixed it I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt as indie devs.) I've been having a fun binge with this game - it hasn't got a ton of content and can get repetitive quickly but is fun for what it is - but the translations has UTTERLY CRIPPLING problems that mean I can't really recommend to this to anyone as a casual pickup in its current state. Mistakes include... Saying "once a turn" when it means…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I loved the first one for its simplicity and brevity, this one is way more complex and way more time consuming. I beat my first run through and thought that the devs had lost their curveball to be honest, but once you get into some of the harder to use characters it does develop into quite a challenge. Great animations and fun music, a good game I highly recommend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really fun SRPG roguelite with plenty of class variety. Not too much to say about it but this is a good buy if you're into the genre!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a bigger sequel to an already great game, so, it's greater.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A great combination of roguelike and warchess.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I 100% the first warriors of the nile game and this game is honestly the first game but even better, more progression options, better balance (priestesses are one of the strongest classes now, they where so weak in the first game). if you liked the first one, well why didn't you buy it before you read this revieuw. If you are complelty new. well there isn't much reason to but the first one now since this better game exsists now. it a rougelike micro strategy game, a run useally takes…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I loved the first one and this one is more of the same -- in both the good and bad ways, honestly. The gameplay is a unique and *very* satisfying combination of turn-based combat and roguelike deckbuilder. After each battle, you draft one of three tablets that augment one of your warriors, which opens up tons of fun and cool synergies. The biggest knock against both Warriors of the Nile games is that the English is terrible. In many contexts that's no big deal, but when you're not even sure…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Turn-based + Rogue-like = awesome
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is incredibly addicting and offers many interesting builds that keep you trying and trying. The characters all feel unique and you can create a team of 3 in many interesting combinations. The only real downside to this game however are the English translations. Some of the effects are misrepresented by the descriptions of the abilities; you will have to use a bit of deduction to understand the true powers of each ability. That being said I highly recommend this game if you have even a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolutely fantastic turn-based roguelike. It's got everything: cool character abilities, fun things to do power up during a run, interesting progression, unique and challenging boss fights, and satisfying aesthetics and game feel. An unquestionable must for tactical combat fans.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you've played the first game, know that Warriors of the Nile 2 expands on pretty much everything that game had to offer! There's just more of everything. If you're unfamiliar with Warriors of the Nile, it is a roguelike (There is some meta progression, but it is not the focus) tactical game where you control a party consisting of a warrior, a hunter, and a mage. Each of these three types have three subclasses that vary wildly in terms of playstyle. Each run has you set out with a party…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My kind of chess. The first game felt great and this one delivers as well. Please make it a trilogy. 8)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good machanics, good setting, good visual.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lovely game that I have been enjoying a lot. Some relaxing background music with a pleasing to look at egyptian setting spiced up with some roguelite gameplay. It can be a bit on the more difficult side at the beginning just like the first game, but there is definitely some depth in how you build your warriors as well as positioning in the turn based system that will quickly see you breeze through the early difficulties once you get the hang of it. Definitely recommend for just a little over…
