The base price is $13 USD. My point in mentioning this is to give the proper lens to my review, as I will “cut it a lot of slack” because of the above two points. I’ll have different kinds of expectations on a $13 dollar game compared to a $30 game. What is Warriors of the Nile? It’s a turn-based tactical roguelite game. The basic format of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Interesting idea, but too unbalanced to recommend. It's a rouge-like tactics game, which sounds very cool in theory, I just wish the idea was given more time because the mechanics often feel like they are trying to force a square peg into a round hole and the power level balancing is all over the place. To the extent that 1 of your 3 characters is so underpowered as to make them completely useless unless you randomly luck into a specific ability or gear upgrade. The random nature of the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"Leads god-blessed Egypt warriors for the glory!ヽ(=´▽`=)ノ" Intro Warriors of the Nile / 尼罗河勇士. This is a strategic roguelike SRPG developed by Stove Studio and published by Gamera Game. Set in ancient Egypt, the player leads the god-blessed warriors and aims to reclaim their sun for the great kingdom of Egypt by defeating the evil serpent god. There are quite a few roguelike strategy games on Steam, but Warriors of the Nile has quite the own mechanics that combines roguelike and tactical…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Holy cow, this is exactly what I have been looking for- an actual turn-based strategy roguelite tactics battle grid game. Easy to pick up and play. You will lose more than win, but you unlock things to help you later. This game focuses on the fights. No visual novel, dungeon crawls, or RPG stuff to take away from the point of the game- the grid battles. Even the iconic Final Fantasy Tactics had too much downtime with cut scenes and item inventory. Warriors of the Nile focuses on fast paced…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Warriors of the Nile is a fast-paced, turn-based roguelite. A run can take 10 - 60 minutes. It depends on how well you do and how much you unlocked. You start out with 3 Units. Every one of them is different and you learn how they work in the short but well made tutorial. You can't get more or different Units, but you earn gear and abilities throughout your run. Also, you get gold with which you can buy gear for example. After the first run you gain exp and level up. With each level you get…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is what a true rouge-like should look like. -Good RNG -Completely different builds every run -Unforgiving boss battles -Hard as hell -Just endless of possibilities But its not just that, it’s the small things. Like the animations are smooth and fast. The sound effects satisfying. And the game moves fast BETWEEN your actions. If you like turn-based games, you probably know the bane of executing and order and then sit and wait for 30 seconds as your characters or the enemy, strolls…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was very fun for the first 5 hours of play. Now it's far too easy. The difficulty doesn't scale adequately, especially as you unlock content. The hard modes aren't noticeably harder. I'm at the point where I can beat the game with a single character and let the other two just sit back.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TLDR: Just get the sequel, which is a much better game both in terms of content and design. This game suffers from multiple poor design choices. - Ranged enemies often outclass your heroes in terms of reach, They can cover 80% of their lane, with 3 moves and 4 trajectory tiles. - The warrior class is insanely overpowered. Packing not only high HP and DEF, but later on with the right tablets they can achieve larger AoE reach than your ranged heroes...like the what the hell is this?…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Warriors of the Nile was sitting in my library for so long without being played, and I'm sorry I didn't give it a shot sooner. It's an incredibly fun rogue-lite strategy turn based tactical game. You only have three characters, but you really have to plan out your moves and the characters' abilities. After each level, you're given a choice of a single upgrade for one of your three characters. This, too, requires some thought because most of the upgrades are good, but you can only take one and…

Warriors of the Nile is a tactical turn-based strategy game with roguelike/lite elements, created by a small indie group of 2 developers. It's such an addictive game. Masked by the adorable appearances is the high difficulty, so be aware that you will need to plan ahead in order to succeed. Gameplay You control a team of 3 fighters, each…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I might change my review later, but for now I can't recommend the game. + : It is good looking, the sound design is nice, the fights are shorts and it's quite user friendly. But... - : ... the game balance is completely off. You can't finish a run if the RNG decides you can't, and I mean it. Let's take Isaac for example : if you have really bad items/stats, you can still win, by playing really well. Here, if you are unlucky, there's absolutely no way to win. You can try to optimize your…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Didn't even know about the game until I saw it while browsing, the Egyptian themes instantly speaking to me I jumped into the store to see what kind of game it was. Surprising to see was a nice looking turn based rouge like strategy game. I picked it up the following day have have enjoyed it very much so far. Very nice art style, music and enjoyable gameplay. Lots to seemingly unlock, with even more once beating the game including harder difficulties which at first I was worried about as…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game was fun for the first few hours, but becomes extremely repetitive, because players are forced to restart the entire campaign (27 levels) every time they lose a level. This is not a bad feature for a hardcore game for the hardcore gamers, but considering that this is basically a mobile style turn-based tactical strategy game costing $13 (minus the pay-to-win gimmicks), the game is a bit simplistic and repetitive to force players to do Iron Man mode as the only mode. RNG is the real…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game mechanics are good and art is too, but balance is a real problem: The game is impossible to win while having no upgrades, then it's totally random based on which tablets you have at the end of each level.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Brilliant little tactical gem of a game. Each run you unlock more benefits that can help with future runs. With only 3 characters you have no room to be sloppy, but with a vast array of level ups to choose from each character has the potential to be your primary killing machine depending on how you build them. Hard, but not so hard as to be frustrating, and definitely rewards repeated play and skill mastery.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've been enjoying this a lot... it's a little bit like Into the Breach, but it's been a lot easier to get into for me. It also has a lot faster way to upgrade your units, similar to Slay the Spire. This has been my go-to game for the past month.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really want to like this game but... it needs some serious balancing. its RNG feels really bad and the characters you play feel really under whelming. the characters you play as a always the same, 1 tank and 2 dps, an archer and a mage respectively, but the tank can function because enemies will always target the weakest character closest to them and move as much as possible, so the tank cant be focused. the archer and mage also lack range to be useful, even more so for the mage, who cant…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Loving this game so far. I was sold on it after playing the demo. It's as if Slay the Spyre and chess had an illigitimate Egyptian love-child. Only a couple hours in so far but it is an absolute recommend. There is a surprising amount of depth to this and I feel like I still have a long way to go before I even come close to mastering it. No issues or complaints so far. Feels like a lucky find. Nice work Stove Studio. Two thumbs up.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Off the beaten path, we have a game called Warriors of the Nile and Warriors of the Nile 2, both of which are essentially the same except that the second installment offers more content. At first glance, the game appears to resemble a chess game in terms of its gameplay, albeit with a battle system infused with Egyptian history. The game begins with a typical strategy game setup, where you move pieces and initiate attacks in a turn-based manner. However, the battles are relatively basic, with…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rare gem of TURN BASED ROGUE-LIKE (caps for emphasis). Of course it's a matter of preference, but for me these 2 games (yes, there is Warriors of the Nile 2!) were so good, thus I played for several weeks *free* (*cough* *cough*) versions of them and finally bought them on Steam. Developers of such games should be encouraged.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I currently play Warriors of the Nile 2 and I love both of them. What I like most about playing this series is that after a long period of pain, you can reach your ideal composition and wipe out the enemies and feel exhilarated. To order the best choice in any scenes, you can take your time as much as you want as the game never urge you. Comparing Warriors of the Nile 1 and 2, 1 is more difficult and 2 has more added features. Both have their own merits and I don't think one is better overall…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I highly recommend this game if you're a fan of either: Turn Based Strategy games or Rouge-likes. Or hell, if you're a fan of both. Get on in here. I find a lot of the time when turn based strategy games have their mechanics fleshed out, it almost becomes more akin to a puzzle game and this is no different. It's definitely a 'one-more run' sort of game, where each run can be wildly different with a lot of build variety with the different stage rewards to gear your party to a certain way.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Finally a game that invokes the same feeling as into the breach. If you liked that game this is a must buy. You start with 3 characters with each having their own unique abilities. After every battle your get a tablet that can improve one of your heroes, these can be stat upgrades or special abilties or compeltly change how a character is played. I will tell you how my third and first succesfull run worked. At the end of the run my warrior guy was basically a god. He had 4 range, this…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This Game RnG Sucks Been playing like 30 times and no counter attack drop for warrior and recovery table very often come out when hp is 44/45 , if hp is 10/45 it never came
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought it at 50% offer. Worth every penny-! Graphics look easy in the eyes. Nice slimy miniature. Gameplay is super easy to understand, quick to execute and addictive (Hard to play at Lv 1 - 5). Audio is just moderate. Simple BGM. Overall : Satisfying for chillin and killin times :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one of the best turn-based tactics, that could be compared to the gems like Into the Breach. It is more focused on rogue-like elements and builds, instead of the tactics and puzzle-like elements of similar games. Quite compact and focussed, with runn averaging 1 hour. Could be rather hard, especially during challenges in the first chapter while you are still waiting for core abilities for one of the characters. Highly recommended for the fans of tactics games, especialy ones close to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's fun. It's addicting. It's find the sweet spot among all the formulas of tactical battle, rouge-like and "one more round" flavour. You control 3 playable characters with distinctive sets of abilities: Warrior is tanky and all about armor. Mage cannot attack and move in the same turn, but powerful. Archer is flexible and long range. After every stage you get to choose a reward tablet (upgrade) for 1 of the characters, or buy items. The battle is the main draw, with numerous enemies,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is straight up incredible. Great, fast paced tactics, upgrades outside of runs that help you get stronger as you go, and even after you finish a run, it unlocks even more content to keep you going. My only criticism is that it is pretty dependent on RNG. Some runs you feel like an absolute god, sometimes you just get bad tablets and every fight feels like a struggle. There are a few minor cases of a few buttons not being translated from Chinese, but they're easy enough to figure…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great gem of a game. Is a lot deeper then it first appears and can be quite challenging at times
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not bad, but can't recommend it in the long run (I'll probably keep playing it, but just as an occasional distraction). PROS - Looks good. - Lots of skills and characters to choose from. - Fun(ish) game play loop. CONS - Not a lot of strategic depth (almost all maps are the same, not too much enemy variety). You're using some variation of the same strategy (turtle behind a tank/choke hold), with slightly different approaches coming from the skills you get and difficulty just means more and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very good turn based strategy which is rather hard to come by. Also makes the game interesting and new even after beating it multiple times by including different hero starting movesets. Also rare. The game needs a bit of balancing though - Unable to predict enemy AI, sometimes they will hunt down your low hp unit and sometimes they stand still - Sun warrior is by far the best unit and it's not even close - The crossover morphs are so much stronger than the normal ones, especially the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ancient Egypt, the only place you see a Catgirl and think it`s totally normal
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good Game. Sun Warrior and Guard are the real MVP....
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice, crisp UI with vibrant colours and solid presentation and tasteful art-style. Unfortunately, the choice of attack for your characters is pretty much down to just the one. Swing a sword with yer warrior, fire an arrow with yer archer and do a spell thing with yer mage. It's all dressed up nicely an' all with upgrades and power-ups and whatnot (not sure what the gear feature is, never got to see it) but it's really not enough to save it from the deadly dull game-play. I also experienced…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not a bad little turn based strategy game for the asking price. Worth a few hours game play. I agree with other reviews complaining that the game needs a few lucky drops to get the right items to enable your team to win. If you get a bit of bad luck you will loose no matter how much skill you have or careful you play. (fast units that do a lot of damage will just mow you down in later levels) You may also need to play and loose for a while to unlock the items what will give you a shot at…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The best roguelike you'll sleep on this year. Really tight core game, excellent progression system that rewards you without feeling like the game gets too much easier, gives weight to every choice you make. Perfect blend of strategy, puzzle, and light RPG elements with fantastic art to top it off. Buy it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love love love love this game. Very fun, with a lot of playstyles to choose from. Very addicting because it's a rogue-like and the runs are never the same. There's a lot of content to play, with challenges, characters to unlock, and difficulty levels to beat. And the art style is very pleasing. I love this game so much.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game, your team of 3 bronzed underwear models travel across the lands searching for jerks to smite. So far I've had runs where each character has been able to shine using the various items you pick up/buy along the way. The game seems to have some bugs that can ruin your battles though. For example, last run I picked up some Tablets (after every battle you choose a beneficial effect to grant one of your 3 team members) that seemed to conflict with each other. The [+Damage Radius] Tablet…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Everyone who rates this game seems to love it, for good reason. Simple, quick, fun, challenging, cheap. Definitely worth the price.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Super good idie game!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun gameplay, superb graphic!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Quite a fun turn based strategy roguelike. The battles play almost like an srpg. On each run you play through a series of battles on square maps with increasing difficulty until either you are defeated or you beat the final boss. After each battle you are allows to select 1 power up and spend acquired coins on other upgrades and equipment. While it's fun it's certainly not without flaws. There are a few weird translations, and some items have cut off text preventing you from actually knowing…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →fun game like Into the Breach
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's really good. I have played a lot of rogue-likes, and this is a top 5 IMO. Art style is simple but very good. Combat is simple but very good. Upgrades make an impact on how you play, keeping things fresh, but they're never so complicated that they bog the pacing down. One of those games where really the only negative I can think of, is that I wish there were more.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Serious lack of content. Once you do a few runs, you basically seen all of the game. Variety is really lacking. Feels more like an early access than a full game. Not worth the price.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bom jogo, com uma jogabilidade simples e intuitiva.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This gameplay is simple. You just have to beat the final boss. Every run, you gain exp until max to build camp. Everytime you build, you get an advantage for another run. You can unlock other character too if you complete some challenge. I love this kind of game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Addicting and fast paced! The 3 units you control also have additional variants that can be unlocked trough gameplay, enabling different builds and tactical depth. Only problem i have is that some things are wrongly translated or sometimes not at all but that is rare.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Super fun roguelite. It's a little brutal until you get some buildings built, after several awful runs. When you have some good options to throw in the RNG pool, the runs are considerably more fun. The game is quick, runs well, and is fairly decent at the strategy early on. Generally I've found if you beat the first of 3 stages, you'll steamroll the 2nd and 3rd. Early on Warrior is OP, carries like 75% of my games, the Mage (which I loathed at first) has carried about 25% of the time, and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game combines elements from a lot of great games into something that is unique without losing the joys of its source material. Combat plays out more like Fire Emblem than Into the Breach in that you are generally trying to lure your overly aggressive AI opponent into disadvantageous positions. However, each run (which generally seem to take 1-2 hours depending on speed of play and how deep the run is) is really defined by how you upgrade your units between fights. You get to draft one of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Proper turn-based tactics game, focused on position and not taking damage. Not something to binge. I found myself playing it once every day or so.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Think Fire Emblem, but bite-sized, and more about tactical fighting and not soapy drama (not that I don't appreciate some soapy drama with pretty boys, but a change of pace is nice). Or Into the Breach, but prettier and Egypt-ier. Or XCOM, but tiny and without the endless bloat. Warriors of the Nile are a delightful small piece of tactical play, perfect when you want an hour of unwinding without having to deal with the bigness of large SRPGs and tactical games, and you have already goldened out…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it's deeper than it seems at first. The loop is very tight and addictive!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A really satisfying little tactical roguelike. It has a run progression similar to STS in that you advance in difficulties, and unlock more resources to find on the run with each difficulty unlocked. I think the game is a bit solveable once you've played it for 10+ hours (I left the game on overnight, so deduct 15 hours from my playtime), but thats a side effect of it having very little RNG during other than loot and mapgen. Its been a lot of fun playing through the existing content, and I'm…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice TRPG, fast, intuitive, rewarding, challenging. One of the best in my opinion, the character haven't the personality of Fire Emblem characters but the fighting part feels better. The customization of skill is replace by a rogue like system. Only very sad that doesn't support mod ... yet ... I hope.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun, fast, fun, challenging, fun, variable, fun. I didn't go deep into the game so far, but it feels very solid. Not the new word in gamedev, but worthy. P.S. My gf threw hysterics on her third run, though she have perfected Wintermoor Tactics Club :) Update. Totally worth it. It is a bit easy and some minor bugs appears here and there, but it is a great addition to "intstatactics" like Into The Breach and Mortal Glory with refined gameplay and intended absence of the plot.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Warriors of the Nile is a well-made turn-based tactical squad combat game with a few flaws. You have a fixed set of three characters (one fighter, one archer, and one mage) and battle through three worlds of nine levels, each capped by a tough boss fight. The gameplay is fast-paced and simple without being simplistic. Each character can move and then attack (except the mage, who can only do one of those per turn). After winning each level, you can choose one permanent power-up tablet out of a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I absolutely love this game. With a focus on ancient Egyptian warriors and challenging, strategy focused, turn based combat it truly is satisfying to play. I've run through over 20 times at this point and it doesn't get old. I've just started to delve into hard mode and unlock the final set of characters. Each run through is unique. Between stage generation, enemy combatants, gear, and traits; you never quite know how your next run through will go. Pick it up and try it out!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Despite the wacky mobile-like graphics, the game mechanics is surprisingly deep and I was pleased to see new features and new characters getting unlocked as the game progressed. A similar game of this nature will be monster train and I can feel certain aspects of this game inspired by it. In conclusion, it is a fun and interesting (and cheap) game that offers more than what meets the eye initially. Give it a try and finish the first run before you decide to refund as the game only unfolds…
