Positive: + Steampunk atmosphere Negative: - Unskipable intro cinematics - Poor visibility and surprising physics, you often don't know quite well what you're shooting into - No manual save - No control remapping - Tedious menus (you need to walk to the meny items, then go sit in a chair and wait for a long transition to load a level... it's fun once, and after that it's boring) - The…

Restart hole button. It doesn't restart anything! Just puts your ball on starting possition, but all closed paths or hit counter stays the same. To actually restart you have to quit the map and start over. Guess what? That animation of your avatar being electrocuted is not fun to watch even once... And if you aim for better score you will see it…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Some neat looking stages but otherwise nothing about it is really worth a poo. The music is obnoxious, the mechanics are all wrong, and the controls feel awful!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Weirdly designed, constant droning 5-second loop of piano music in the background, the physics are somehow both too heavy and too floaty at the same time. Bad, even with friends.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Frustration, frustration, and more frustration. I actually like the setting and story, but trying to seriously engage with some of the harder courses feels like an exercise in futility, especially when I have to time my shot with the movements of an obstacle I can't see. I don't even know how this product got into my Library but I *almost* wish it hadn't. I did like the story, and it has value as a multiplayer experience to be shared with friends.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There are better mini golf games on steam but I still enjoyed this one.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A steampunk golfing game that's very charming, but in later levels the holes become extremely complex forcing you to rely on a little scouting bird that you have. Unfortunately, if the scouting bird gets deployed while in collision with the environment, it will fly off to the boundaries of the map becoming unusable. This makes the later, more complex maps, impossible to beat without trial and error rather than being able to look at the course as intended. This made the game too frustrating to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like minigolf, I like steampunk, I don't mind if there's some narrative in a game that doesn't need one, but this isn't just a bad minigolf game done badly (see other reviews for details), it has some of the worst stories and voice acting(?) ever.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Controls feel clunky. UI is confusing. I don't need/want to have to figure out a puzzle (sitting in the chair) to start a game. Should be able to aim without needing to hold down a mouse button. Did the tutorial, had a nice shot, then the tutorial makes you 'unwind' it, which is frusterating. I was looking forward to puzzle styled mini golf, but everything just doesn't feel good/natural with the controls and physics.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unpolished minigolf game with subversive communist storyline that has it's head so far up it's own arse it can see through it's mouth.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Vertiginous Golf is like banging the person of your dreams in an ant hill, sure it's great but the bugs are everywhere.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall the game is slow paced, controls are accurate but just feel clunky, and it's just not a lot of fun. The course design is interesting, but if you're making a mini-putt game ... it should just be fun. Course selection leaves something to be desired ... just odd, not good or bad.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's unique but unfortunately not in a good way. It could have been great with more polish, but as is, it feels clunky and the hummingbird is a nuisance.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Soft pass. Couldn't get past the controls feeling awkward. YMMV compared to mine. It's undoubtedly creative, but I bounced off its greens into the hazard course...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Vertiginous Golf is a minigold game with a steampunk skin and an overelaborate first person game menu. The skin is fairly well done, giving the game some surreal but quirky visuals. Once you get past the menu and start swinging your golf club, however, you're just playing a golf swing minigame. This is reasonably well fleshed out but the interface is slightly clunky. It does seem to be designed for VR and that is probably the cause of the clunkiness. You get multiplayer and you can create…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The way the plot is presented in this game is insufferable. Interrupting the gameplay, multiple times per hole, and forcing the player to listen to an overly long and flowery audio monologue is just bad game design that only serves to frustrate the player. As for the gameplay itself, the friction seems strangely high, resulting in the ball not rolling as expected, which can make timing the shot rewind tricky. The ball is also nearly as large as the cup, making it particularly easy to just…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i got this game for free from a friend with a spare key. i'm something of a minigolf aficionado and have been looking for some delicious putting content for some time. vertiginous(?) golf is not what i was looking for. -the controls are poor at best. fine control on the power of a swing is functionally non-existent, and it is impossible to change the angle of a swing once you've drawn your club back. to compensate for this, the game boasts a "rewind" function, using a limited fuel meter to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hate this game more than i hate anything else. It has no reason to exist. I'd rather die I didn't pay for this and i want my money back. I deserve compensation for the suffering this botched circumcision of a game has inflicted on me.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tried this for the first time maybe 10 years after getting it for free. Must admit, I didn't hate it. It plays like an over-the-top mini golf game, which is probably the intent, and the expectation. It also ran on Linux without any hiccups. But paying 1200 yen for this in 2025? Nah, probably not. Maybe if you really, really like mini golf.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game astounds me. It enthralls me. It deeply confuses. Is this because it's a good game? Not at all. The gameplay is terrible, and brings shame to the very idea of a golf game. The writing is nonsense a la carte. No individual element of the plot, story, or setting quite makes sense even in isolation, and gets worse when you consider other elements of the plot. You control a robotic hummingbird in order to change the camera angle. Each hole is interrupted several times by floating radios…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The best dystopian steam punk mini golf adventure game I ever played
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i review games on steam after i 100% complete them! check out my reviews to see all the games i have completed! vertiginous golf is a golf game with a twist. it's set in a dystopian cyberpunk world and features at the very least, the most basic of stories. it actually has pretty graphics and world design. there are a ton of holes, as well as a course editor to make your own. there's interesting concepts like a rewind feature or a free shot mechanic. as well as playing as a little mechanical…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Vertiginous is a game that really pushes the envelope on the concept of "necessary." Like is it necessary for the game's main menue to be delivered via walking first person through several shops? Debatable. But get ready to strap yourself in for that experience. Or would it be necessary to have fully customizable character outfits when the only time your character is visible is the several seconds you spend in an electric chair before you start golfing? Probably not, but you better believe…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The concept was far better than the execution.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First of all, I got this game for free. I still wish I could have my money back.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The best dystopian steam punk mini golf adventure game I ever played
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →enjoyable and passive game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I just can't get past the controls. I like the art style, but the mouse sensitivity is just too bad, and the settings dont actually do anything.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This minigolf game has an excellent physics engine, is rendered beautifully, and has great challenges. Lots of odd contraptions (like fans and conveyor belts) that will take a lot of time to master. A large number of different courses to play. This is a steampunk themed game, and everything is tuned to it. Immerse yourself and don't be in a hurry. After you practice a little, be sure to play the "backstory" holes to enjoy the, uh, well, backstory. Remember this isn't really an RPG so don't…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →popped a blood vessel somewhere important and I wont be the same again
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this is one of the most interesting games ive ever played; the actual golf courses are insane and borderline unplayable with me and my friends sometimes getting 20+ shots on a par 4 but its absolutely fascinating the whole time were doing it, from a story mode that was surprising captivating from start till end and a general world that is unique and clever; I would love to see a sequel with better golf mechanics
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this one a while back at a friends, just got it on sale though, I dig a good minigolf. For the price of a gas station hot dog you can go to a little steampunk golf world. Ok...you might be saying, what a deal! But know that you are getting the gas station hot dog equivalent of a mini golf game. I am a trash person, so i know what im eating. You however might want to read the ingredients. This game is pretty sick, but it can also be sickening. Aspects of the artistry here are just..not…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →piece of ♥♥♥♥ garbage turd.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Vertiginous Golf is a dystopian steampunk mini-golf game that isn't terrible, it's simply not that great overall. The physics of the game make it feel horrible to play after the first few courses. Obstacles in courses are more hassle than fun to work around, and while I certainly enjoy the aesthetic of this game the overall feel of it ruined the rest of the experience for me. If you're looking for good golf games to play either solo or multiplayer look elsewhere. Golf With Friends and Golf It!…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lost patience. Vertiginous Golf probably meant to be an arcade golf game with inventive level design, but the level design is actually the major flaw: the levels become quickly unreadable and labyrinthine. It seems that the devs wanted every level to have various solutions, but everything ends up being confusing and without logic. Sometimes you'll find yourself happy to reach this highlighted platform there, just to wonder if it is actually any beneficial to reaching the hole faster. In the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →How can a simple golf game have such ♥♥♥♥♥♥ controls? Your mouse moves to the other screen and the sensitivity is inconsistent af. 2/10 would sit in a electric chair and get shocked to death again.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There's not much to say about this game. I'd rather buy Golf With Your Friends four times instead of buying this once, even, if I had no friends. It ran badly for most of what I've played. The developer should focus their attention on fixing glaring issues with this game, like broken mouse boundaries, stuttering and other framerate-inconsistencies. Although, even then, the game is way too convoluted to present some nice minigolf.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Feels like they spent too much time making it fancy instead of making the basic gameplay enjoyable. UI and controls are poorly done, everything feels clunky. Courses have too many moving parts that guide your ball rather than letting you shoot where you want.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As others have said, mouse sensitivity is so low that I just cannot enjoy this game. I used the menu twice and got tired of the idea already, it's really just wasting your time.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Vertiginous Golf is a really bad golf game… Don’t pay for this. Buy Golf It or Golf with your friends instead.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly gives me a headache and depression but this game screwing my butthole is... soo good
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →-Sluggish, unskippable animations & controls -Not the prettiest game in the world -Physics are ok though
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A steampunk golf game with mediocre at best performance and irritating at best controls. Perhaps a hardcore golfer could look past the flaws, but with the bizarre sky bound courses, gimmicks, overly sensitive controls, etc., it all barely feels like golf anymore. I did not find Vertiginous Golf enjoyable in the slightest.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I picked up Vertiginous Golf some time back with some mates when it was on a free weekend, and we’ve only just got around to giving it a go. At first, it’s a little confusing, as you start the game in the street outside the golf accessory and game “stores”. In one, you can spend money earned playing the game on in game items. Considering you only see your avatar for a very brief moment, it seems fairly pointless, but I’ve only played multiplayer, so it might feature more heavily in the story…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good idea, bad execution
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →More golf with a class struggle story . . . which I find strange that I've encountered multiple golf games tackling this theme.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Worst game ever. The developers should feel ashamed, How they could grab a nice idea and make it so bad, They did not even try to make a half decent game, Do not even try to play it. It is the worst game I played so far, Bad controls, a Bad hub for multiplayer, Weird keybinds for the powers and boring levels, Sorry forr my english (not native speaker).
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →- There is an introduction scene every time we start a stage, and ti has a 2D person siting alone on a chair with an eletrical bolt going through their head as they tremble uncontrolably. But the real problem is that it flashes lights and hurt the eyes. - The gaslight cyberpunk 3D place that serves as a menu (a brillant idea) is depressing, empty, static, and boring (please, if it's going to be like that, just give me a 2D menu). - The huming bird's animations are weird and make it look like a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Best played with a few mates, would be nice to be able to explore the hub are further
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Please buy this help ol gill out
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It has too much going on and not enough of it is fun.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is strange. on one hand, you have a decent mini-golf game with ok physics (sometimes stuff behaves oddly and it's generally difficult to predict what will happen) on the other you a series of oddities that really ruined the experience for me: the courses are over-complicated and often difficult to read even using the provided hummingbird view, leading to confusion; controls are strange and not re-mappable (also my x-box controller didn't work); the eastethic is cool but feels out of…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →after the end of the world, filthy ground dwelling peons go to electric opium parlors to sedate themselves with hallucinatory golf. but this is actually what you the player are doing, since we're all living through the apocalypse. the servers are still up (09/2020), but no one makes lobbies anymore so it's really easy for friends to find your game on the list. honestly like an 8/10, this game is sidesplitting
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →unpolished and boring
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game! The maps are really well designed and complex. Multiplayer is really cool as everybody is playing at the same time. Different types of clubs is a nice option. There's even a story line. The rewind option is actually cool and well designed. Couple of glitches here and there, but it adds to the fun
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ive played the game with 2 kids, and the game was a fun experience overall. Few minors game design issues: The game is not telling well which player turn is it, since you can make new attempts if you have failed your shot it is quite complicated. The color on the ball is barely perceptible, and i would have enjoyed more a big popup saying which turn it is. If you use two controllers, they are interchangeables at any time, so good luck telling kids to respect each other’s turn which is quite…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Interesting steam punk style mini golf game. Seems to be a little bit overly complicated for what it is but worth giving it a try if you like mini golf games. Camera is annoying and graphics are very blurry.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought it in a bundle of games with unusual storytelling. I was disapointed to find that the storytelling in this game is minimal, the graphics look amaturish at best and the controlls are just bad. 3/10 at best
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So buggy it's barely playable. Focus system glitches so game goes blurry randomly. Menus don't respond properly. Graphics glitch out heaps. If this was a pre-alpha test of a game in development, I'd still be disappointed. It has potential... but it would need a LOT of work to be worth spending a single cent on.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just buy golf with your friends or golf it.
