Developer Re-Logic
Terraria ( tə-RAIR-ee-ə) is a 2011 action-adventure video game developed and published by Re-Logic. As a sandbox game, Terraria has no set goals. After creating the player character and choosing the game's difficulty, the player is placed in a two-dimensional, procedurally generated world where they explore, fight enemies, gather resources, and craft equipment. Players beat bosses, a tougher variety of enemies, to… From Wikipedia (CC BY-SA 4.0)

Relogic is one of the few development studio teams that I genuinely trust above all else. And now, officially after 1.4.5 has come out, I'm willing to say I'll never go back to Minecraft or Starbound ever again. Thank you Relogic, thank you Andrew, and thank you community. <3

Back then I couldn’t even afford the mobile version, but I still played it with crack version on android and enjoyed every moment. It was honestly one of the best games of my childhood. Playing Terraria with friends was something special. We explored, we fought bosses, we died a lot, laughed a lot, and funny thing is bee…

unlabelledView post →Terraria is one of those games where the price doesn't match the amount of content! For little money, you get hundreds, and I'm not afraid to say, for some people, thousands of hours of gameplay, a constant sense of progress, and a huge number of items, bosses, and fun. The game is addictive, so go for it!

unlabelledView post →The Best $10 You Will Ever Spend Terraria is, without a doubt, the best value for money in gaming history. Whether you pick it up at full price for $10 or catch it on sale for $5, the sheer amount of content you get is staggering. It’s also become a running joke in the community that the developers have "abandoned" the game—they have announced the "final update" about five times now, yet the updates just keep coming. Every time they say it’s over, they drop another massive "Labor of Love"…

unlabelledView post →At first, I honestly didn’t get Terraria at all. I was completely lost, had no idea what I was supposed to do, and instead of learning, I just kind of bounced off it and never gave it a real chance. It felt overwhelming and confusing, so I dropped it. Fast forward to one random day when my girl said she wanted to play a game together. All she had was a laptop, and Terraria popped back into my head. We decided to give it another shot, and wow, was that a mistake in the best way possible. From…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hundreds of hours of gameplay packed into <1GB for only $10 (often on sale for $5) and it has received multiple "final" updates across 15 years (that add tons of new content) all of which have been free. Other things worth mentioning: Officially endorsed mod support released as a free dlc. Hoiks kept as a feature rather than patched. Adding an item to restore removed movement techniques. $100k donations to open-source game engines.

unlabelledView post →The eternal debate: Terraria vs. Minecraft. For me, this battle is long over, and the winner is clear: Terraria. And it's not even that there's a bottomless ocean of content, or that mods like Calamity transform the game into a completely new universe. No, the main thing is something else. It was one of the very first games of this genre that I ever completely immersed myself in. And even though I've played it through and through, more than once, on two other accounts, I still return again and…

unlabelledView post →Ah, Terraria. This game definitely feels special. I was gifted this game in 2013 by a friend of mine, a friend who expected me to have as many hours of enjoyment with it as he did back then. And while I haven't even come close to the amount of playtime he had even back then (if I recall correctly, he was at around 4000 hours already), I still had a lot of fun with this game. I'm writing this review now, after over 10 years having the game, since I've finally, properly finished it. And yes,…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →terraria, oh where do i even start... At first glance, Terraria looks like “2D Minecraft,” but that comparison honestly doesn’t do it justice. The game evolves from chopping trees and building tiny wooden houses into fighting screen-filling gods, exploring corrupted biomes, crafting hundreds of weapons, and slowly becoming an unstoppable force of destruction. The progression system is insanely satisfying because every boss unlocks new materials, stronger gear, harder enemies, and completely…

unlabelledView post →I've completed this game over 5 times on all of the difficulties and even with some mods and yet the every experience I had playing on each class, was unique and interesting. For the amount you pay and for the content you get, this game could beat any other with a success, there are tons of bosses, armours, weapons, enemies, npcs, tons of blocks to build a base from plus so many more, and I'm not talking about the modding community of this game that could easily give you a hundred hours of…

Watching his adventuring, exploring, building, defeating, overcoming, excavating, accomplishing the impossible, and soaring to unknown heights, was one of the coolest things I'd ever seen to this day. I could never replicate his passion and ability to swiftly comprehend all the games mechanics. I learned this after adding it to my library and quickly realizing how slow my mind works as his. I still love this game nonetheless. This…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I launched this game, bounced off it completely within like two hours, closed it, and then didn’t touch it again for so long that when I came back to it I’d forgotten I owned it. Did that twice. Third time something just clicked and now I have an actually decent number of hours in it and a genuine emotional attachment to a slime that I don’t really want to examine too closely. The thing about Terraria is that it’s one of those games where the fun isn’t in the game explaining itself to you,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The progression and sheer amount of things to do in this game is INCREDIBLE... granted there is a bit of a learning curve early game, but once you get the hang of it you'll be entertained for HOURS. HIGHLY recommend!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun game that you'll want to replay a dozen times. There's also a large mods ecosystem to explore (tModLoader) once you're satisfied with the vanilla content. There's a clearer sense of progression and larger focus on combat compared to Minecraft. The game can be very linear if you choose for it to be, but there's a ton of optional content at every point of the game. The game is very large and doesn't have a tutorial, so expect to consult the wiki frequently during your first playthroughs.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't mind my hours, but this MIGHT be a good game. Except the fishing quest achievements, and legendary seed, playing those is reminiscent of the feeling of getting your skin torn off, just for hand sanitizer to poured on the flesh. Other than that, the games pretty good.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →(2/10) I reference Minecraft a lot on the comics because it's more well known, but 10yo's true love is a game called #Terraria (imagine Minecraft, but 2D and a LOT more stuff!) He's such a huge fan that his last TWO birthdays have been Terraria themed!
