60 of 182 · most liked firstIt can often be surprisingly entertaining, refreshing even, to download and start an almost randomly chosen game obtained in some bundle, often a game which could linger in those large Steam libraties forever. Sadly, this game is not one of those. It promises to be a classic action-rpg with focus on combat, loot and character development. And although the interface is extremely big, the controls wonky and the dialogues rather uninteresting (and not voice-acted), I felt a certain urge to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Oh my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ GOD! After 38 hours of agony i beat this crap. This is the most boring game I ever played in my life. Pros: - Was free - Story is related in space, everyone likes space - Yep Cons: - Gameplay, main story, quests, enemies - EVERYTHING IS ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ BORING! - There are only two types of enemies - fighting and shooting, sometimes they change colours - incredible! - No respawns - There are only two cut scenes: Intro and Outro and doesn't work, You have to watch them on YouTube - A lot…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There are a few good ideas here but otherwise this was haphazardly slapped together. It's buggy, clunky, crash heavy, and all sorts of frustrating. Hard pass on this one.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've purchased this game just because of its price ($0.09 at -83%) and only at the time the game was launched I finally recognized Mercury-8 from 2005. It was just dug up and released back once again. Honestly, I didn't hope for better things from 'new realization', but screenshots were nostalgic and quite good, so I tried to play it. Let's start with pros: 45 levels with extensive locations (but boring and repetitive), virtual absence of bugs, epic loot. And cons: insipid gameplay, weak plot…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've been playing ARPGs for a long time. This sucks as an ARPG. These are my problems with it: No chest system. Biggest problem in my case. I like to save items I might or not use in the future in some place. This game didn't have that. I ended up using my base to save good gear, by the end I had over 50 items laying around. A lot back-tracking. Get this: the inventory is 10x5. A bit tiny except some items can be 2x4 in size, and as mentioned before, no chest system. So let's say you find 5…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →INSTANTLY tedious! It also crashes if you try to set the video res any higher than 1920. Here's the synopsis: -leave compound and punch (yes, punch!) aliens -after the 4th or 5th one you need to heal -rinse, repeat a half dozen times....now you can FINALLY buy your first weapon -hit aliens....run back to heal. -hit aliens...run back to heal. -hit aliens.....run back to heal. -by now you're getting further and further from the base, at which time you realize you have a run meter and you…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There’s some kind of curse on the genre that prevents good sci-fi ARPGs from being made. I don’t know if it was the Chernobyl-level failure of Too Human or a simple lack of interest but nobody makes them, and the ones that exist are almost universally no good. Space Hack falls right in the middle of that auspicious pack, a game blindly following the lead of genre giants like Diablo with zero comprehension of why they were successful. Every part of the design here is boring, obtuse, or…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An old game dug up and released back into the wild. I wouldn't call it "a classic", but it's solid. Because it comes from Ye Olden Days , don't expect the flashiest of effects, or particularly novel gameplay. If you're a fan of hack-n-slash, point-n-click, straightforward RPGs then Space Hack could well be the ticket. It's exactly what it says on the tin -- you're on a ship, in space, and you have to hack (or shoot) your way through all the levels. A generic storyline and a cast of basic NPCs…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game plays like it is in early development; the front end and menus don’t seem finished, the game play is repetitive and unrewarding also the programme has bugs just about everywhere. This could be a good game with a bit of work to sort these issues. I would not recommend this game in its current state.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's honestly not as bad as many people say, it's a budget sci-fi Diablo and for that it's pretty good.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall, after spending 45 hours grinding through this game and going through all 15 BioSpheres and all 45 levels, I can say for sure that Space Hack isn't worth the experience in present times or at least has aged horribly. TL;DR: This game is extremely tedious and repetitive and although I had fun in a few places I can't really recommend this to anyone unless they are looking to complete a random game and they are willing to spend hours and hours battling with the same stuff. Even for a 2005…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Space Hack is a Diablo clone, the clonest of them all BUT it's sci-fi, made in Poland, which came out in 2005. It's like a year after Half-Life 2 and Sacred and a year before Titan Quest. Just look at this, it looks like Earth 2150 mod from like 2000. Catching up with tech sure was a ♥♥♥♥♥, eh? But yes, look at it. Drab. Lame. Boring plot. You wouldn't want to play it. It's so low budget that intro movie just shows flyover around the ship model in space that has obvious cubemap sides to it,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great Taste, Awful Execution. I would love to see a fully-fledged remake / revival of this game, since the premise and the idea are fantastic, but more variation in terms of enemies and weapons or weapons time.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice Diablo-like game, but in space. Not too bad for its price.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Why why why are so many of these "indie" games just half assed? Despite the horrid controls, boring gameplay, and repetive enemies, I perservered until my first death. The game just sat there, with no prompt, or option to restart, repawn. Nothing. Just an exit, uninstall, and nary a g lace back, ever.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't know how to feel with this one. This game was a pain to start, a pain to make it work properly, a pain to understand some archaic mechanics and a slog to play the really short time i've played. But i can't stop thinking about it, its like watching a plane crash on top of an orphanage, horribly mesmerizing, interesting in the wrongest way. I'll be not surprised if in a bunch of years coming back to this review my playtime would drastically increase.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Brief Space Hack, a hack and slash styled RPG, that takes place in the wonderful world of space colonization! After some disaster strikes, it is up to one person, aka you, to take out the alien scum and put a stop to the menace! Pros - Simplistic Gameplay - Simple Inventory - Decent Story - Non-respawnable enemies Cons - Currency taking Energy weapons - Non-respawnable enemies - No farming - Felt Short (See additional comments) Additional Comments Those with a keen eye, or reading this at…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →At the current price of 99c I would recommend. An old aRPG type game similar to Dungeon Siege. Very light on the RPG elements though, you can only modify your base attributes and there are no skills as such, it is purely increasing stat level to be able to equip stronger tech. Has the advantage of being one of the few sci-fi games in the genre. Though to be honest for whatever reason most of the weaponry consists of medieval tech ala, any fantasy game, with the addition of guns. Still waiting…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I recommend this game because I don't want to be the only one to suffer through it. Gameplay: boring and repetive. Enemies: 9 types, one that just runs towards you and hit same as previous but with more health, one with range attack, same as previous expect much more health and armor class, One that slowly walks towars you and hits you, big brutes with ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of health and armor class and other version that uses lasers also turrets. Weapons: You get all kind of them Blunt one, Sharp one and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't waste your money. For no achievements or trading cards, it's not worth the frustration. You have to run around everywhere, the camera angles you have to constantly adjust, your inventory space is small and the items that go in it are big, it is very easy to die, the sound effects are juvenile and simple. There's a reason it's cheap, you get what you pay for.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I remember playing this game a really long time ago. And I clearly remember not finishing it even once, though I didn’t remember the reason. Well, now I know that the reason is simple: the game is terrible. Poor RPG mechanics. Only a few stats that are basically locked to one singular weapon type - no real builds or anything like that. Dull maps with a bloated amount of enemies. 300 enemies for each small map make progress extremely slow. Enemy balancing. Do you like kiting each…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Kill 2 enemy and get low on health, run back, heal. Go back and kill 20 enemy, get low on health, run back...... Too tedious with no narrative or satisfying gameplay reward.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Space Hack (2005) This review should be a neutral review but Steam does not want to give people that option for some reason so I have to learn more towards the negative side. Space hack is a hack and slash style game where you play as a space marine. You fight alien monsters and weird stuff. Now my only problem with the game is that it plays sooooo slow its painful... The action is also a bit on the... well non-actiony side. The graphics is fine for the time, its got its appeal. But overall…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Probably one of the worst Diablo clones I've played. The controls are horrid. Everything is bland. There's no story. Garbage. 3/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Received in a bundle, gave it a try, would recommend to nobody. It's just a mess thats no fun to play. I read the reviews first and figured I'd give it a decent shot and found nothing of interest. Combat is boring, enemies are repetitive, no interesting skills or mechanics, items are mostly swords, shields and slings which doesnt at all fit with the space theme. Not even worth trying out IMO.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I actually like how this game looks and like camera placement and human designs. Controls, enemies and sound effects leave much to wish for. I do not know if good or bad is better in this and I am more neutral to game than recomending it. If you are game collector and have no high standtard then this is a good one! But if you just want good games then keep looking in other places.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is bad, realy bad, :(, Its not only the age that is showing...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Extremely poorly made. No reason to play this at all, even over Torchlight 1
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just don't. This game is: * repetitive * unbalanced * void of any mildly interesting content * forces you into essentially one weapon choice * forces you to deal with broken "spells" which crash the game * forces you to wonder why did you waste 32k of your hard earned money on an "artifact" that does nothing
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I’ve been playing an older ARPG today, Space Hack, while waiting for Torchlight Infinite’s new season to start, and it’s holding up better than I expected! Definitely simpler than Diablo but still a fun sci fi romp
unlabelledView post →Bad game. Boring. Bad story. But the graphic is good. Sometimes crashed.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got this game for free, and I still feel like I overpayed for it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's dirt cheap. It has stable great graphics. It's strickly Diablo 1 with future space theme. Those are all you get from this game that you won't be disappointed. But NEVER expect any thing greater. The gameplay is tedious and extremely monotonous; as it should be for its genre? I don't know, and the story is just pointless and quests are very vague while fruitless. That's it. If you just expect a faithful Diablo 1 type of game then you won't be dissappointed. I also own the CD version of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This has the potential to be a good game, but the control scheme is terribe and there's no way to change it. This makes it a bad game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →boring and limited its now in my hidden folder
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →space hack frauds
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is simply bad due to the lack of dynamics. It seems clanky and like it would be made 15 years ago. I realize this is indie game. I just couldn't play it due to slow speed. You constantly run out of stamina. It could be good as easy time killer. But I'm not interested.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Started a bit of a new challenge. I love diablo likes. Loot finding, making terrible character builds, absurd mechanics. First game was Space Hack, and it set a good bar for maybe what the bare minimum a Diablo Like can be. On game 2 right now! Out of 170+ www.twitch.tv/Peebs
unlabelledView post →What could've been a mediocre but serviceable ARPG becomes completely unplayable once you find out the game has enemy auto-level. Every time you level up, the enemies also get stronger. Killing any sense of progression and turning the game into an unbearable slog.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nostalgia factor: 8 Fun: If limping over 75 miles of a dusty road while having a headache was supposed to be a joyride outdoors experience, than this would've been a 3 Replayability: -3 Shallow, boring-beyond-comparison diablo-like experience with horribly behaving camera, yet still, it's one of those games you cannot tear yourself apart from playing. Probably because dopamin circuits go tick, tick, tick with each, painstainkingly slowly killed monster, and something unfathomable, somewhere…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Where do I even begin with Space Hack? If there were a black hole for bad games, this one would be at the center, sucking in all hope of fun and enjoyment. I was genuinely excited to dive into a sci-fi hack-and-slash, but what I got instead was an unplayable mess that left me questioning my life choices. First off, let's talk about the performance. You’d think a game from 2005 wouldn’t be so demanding, but I struggled just to launch it on a moderately decent PC. The minimum requirements seem…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Space Hack pros: //fast game with modern day graphics with easy controls that moves from location A to B to C and so on cons: //some difficult battles //some enemies are overpowered //upgrades/gear/repair/recharge cost a lot of resources //good game Personal Suggested Purchase Price: $0.49 Or Less During Sale
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There's a reason the publishers give this game away constantly. Budget diablo 2 clone that's insanely sluggish and not very fun. If you want to play a cheapish diablo 2 clone from this era that's at least kinda fun, play Torchlight.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Childhood game but i had russian version called mercury-8, I remembered i played it but couldnt find the game because i forgot the name for it. :D
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Weak Diablo-wannabe game that lacks plenty of its features and offers clunky controls, poor English translation and visual glitches in exchange. Writing is simplistic, feels like a creation of a person with poor imagination.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Space Hack is a complete slog of a game. It's ugly, repetitive, and lasts far too long. There isn't an engaging story nor compelling gameplay. It has far too many enemies (rising to more than 400 per level by the end) which scale to your level, so you'll never truly feel like you're taking control of the situation. It has not held up well. It becomes a chore by the end.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not recomended. It's boring
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this game for the first time about 10 years ago, and it was one of my favorite games. If you play it on a new computer, it might lag very badly since the game is pretty old, and you will need to download some plug-in files to fix that. Download dgvoodoo 2, copy the three files under the MS folder and paste it in the game directory. It took me a while to figure this out, hopefully it will help, and please be patient and forgiving to those good old games!

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've won this game at Steamgifts platform. The mixed reviews are quite about right, I'm giving a positive only because low price. The game looks like a clone of first cRPGs, but with somewhat better graphic (nothing spectacular, mind you). The title is solid, but simple. You got missions and you go killing. I'm missing some few obvious things like player's chest, alternative weapon, also at the beginning magic weapons and hi-tech items sells for less then the cost of identify and recharging.…
