60 of 113 · most liked firstThe Wild Case is a pleasant little casual puzzler with rich, charming graphics. Despite being reminiscent of Hidden Object Games (HOGs), it is a Point & Click title with a short, linear narrative and no actual HOG scenes. Pros + Smooth, rustic art. + Intriguing, mysterious story with a nice ending. + Intuitive puzzles, not too easy nor difficult. + Easy 100% achievements. Cons - No bonus chapter or replayability. Story: Strange paranormal beasts? The protagonist is a paranormal detective…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Wild Case is a fine adventure game with the look & feel of a hidden object game, yet stripped of any hidden object scenes or mini-games, and focused instead on telling the story of a remote Slavic village attacked by wild beasts with red glowing eyes. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2448573626 In some ways, the gameplay is very similar to a point & click game. The whole game is played from the first-person perspective of a detective summoned to investigate these…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →READ THE WHOLE REVIEW The Wild Case The Wild Case is a Point and Click game that sits right in the middle of a Hidden Object and a Point and Click game. This is a game that I would recommend HOPA or Hidden Object fans play as a bridge for learning to play Adventure and Point and Click games. It sits in the middle because there are no hidden object scenes and there are no puzzles that require much thought. You will spend your time going from point A to point B; you acquire the item you…

Russia, where in one of the villages mystical events related to the appearance of red-eyed forest animals begin to take place. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Wild Case is a well done point-and-click adventure played from a 1st person perspective in a 2D world. You have been called to a Russian village to investigate reports of crazed animals. You arrive by train and meet the various residents of the town, working towards solving the mystery and reducing the threat. Gameplay is primarily 'find and use' with inventory items. The artwork and inventory/usage style reminds me of the detail one sees in a hidden object game. However, there are no…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is okay for me. About 2/5. Wish there was a middle ground for reviewing. Pros, I can say the way the game looks. Its rustic-ly gritty which I think works for it. Cons- there's alot of back and forth. Seems like for every problem you encounter, (I don't consider them puzzles) takes too much to solve it. ie. you need a ride to the village, to do so, you have to get a car part, to get the car part you have to get some a picture of a girl for the guy with the part. to get the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →[url=store.steampowered.com/app/1178230/The_Wild_Case/]The Wild Case was rightfully destined to become a hidden object game, only without any hidden objects to find. Instead, it plays more like an adventure game, also with barely any puzzles to solve. The game's marketing blurbs mention "exciting puzzles" and "open world" but there's none of that. Although it starts with an intriguing mystery, the player will soon be sent on a series of linear fetch quests over a few remote locations,…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A wonderful adventure! An unnamed investigator from the city called to a village where wild animals with strange red eyes started terrorising the people. You have to question, help people around and solve the case of the wild animals. Some say it's the witch's fault, some others say it's demonic possession. Is it really? It's up to you to find out! PROS: - Beautiful scenes; - Good environmental music; - Interesting story; - Varied characters; - Able to do more mouse moves than just clicking; -…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Wild Case is a point-and-click adventure game by Specialbit, and it has gameplay similar to their other title, Stormhill Mystery. Both games play like HOGs but without hidden object scenes, focusing more on solving puzzles by finding items and a mystery-centered story. In this game, you play as a man investigating a rural village seemingly in Russia that is terrorized by mysterious red-eyed animals. Like their other games, this game has a great artstyle. It looks depressing and monotonous,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It was ok. The art was really nice and I found the ending hilarious. But I thought the game would have had puzzles, so I was a bit disappointed there were none. Most of the gameplay consisted of finding the right items to fix/unlock something or help someone to progress the story.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wonderful Point and Click Experience! This might not be a game for everyone, but I found it quite entertaining! It is on the short side (under 4 hours), but the graphics and storyline are worth it. It does contain quite a bit of backtracking at times, as you do errands/quests for people to obtain items that you need to coerce them to help you, or to progress with the story. There is also no hand-holding, no hint system, and the map does not tell you where to go next. I didn't really mind this…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I play a lot of point and click games. This one really stands out! The scenery in the game was stunning (as I've noticed with other games by Specialbit Studio). The game immerses you in it's unique setting, and the personalities of the characters is very fun! There is no hint button in this game, which I was worried about. However, there was no need for concern as the game is easy enough to follow (there is a guide if you get stuck too). Another unique point is how you're encouraged to find…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →DISCLAIMER: I received the steam key for The Wild Case for free in exchange for a detailed and honest review. My opinions and the contents of this review are my own. The Wild Case is a 2D, first-person point and click mystery adventure game developed by Specialbit Studio with the Unity engine. Set in an isolated Russian mining village, the player is sent to investigate a mysterious plague of red-eyed forest animals. There's a lot to respect about The Wild Case, and yet there's something…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is little more than a string of fetch quests, capped off with an ending that falls disappointingly flat. Missing-object puzzles could have added variety and broken up the monotony of being everyone's errand boy.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short and fairly easy casual adventure game, in which you play as a detective coming to a remote village to investigate appearances of aggressive red-eyed forest animals, and in the process discover the mystery behind the nearby abandoned mines. Game features well-crafted screens with few animations that manage to give a good impression of a Soviet-Union-style village in the interwar period, items collecting and their usage is smooth, and puzzles are mostly logical and easy to solve. Story is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is made in the Soviet style and I have no complaints here. Everything looks very plausible (as far as a person who has never lived in the USSR can judge). But this is the game where you are asked for vodka for every service (I'm serious, it seemed to me that this is some kind of currency in this game) and you take the hunter to the bathhouse to rob his house (?!) In any case, this is a typical game of this genre. These games usually lack a good storyline. If you are not confused by…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Too easy, too predictable and got very boring very fast.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a great experience! Quite an awesome story that keeps you wondering what is going to happen next. This game has an assembly of very interesting characters, offering you the occasional funny dialogue with them. The sceneries are very beautiful. The puzzles are nice and logical, but they're too easy. The game is quite short, but, for its price, it's a great choice. I'm pretty pleased that I bought this game on steam. Great job, developers! Till next time, don't forget to point & click!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great puzzle game. Setting remind me of Hidden Object Game. But no HO scenes or puzzles to solve. And I never missed them, the game is one big puzzle. Got stuck a couple of times. Challenging to find the solution to move forward. Not a beginners game because there is no hint system and the map doesn't give you any clue where the next action needs to be done. Loved every minute of it and I am going to play again. Just because I missed two achievements. Wish there were more games like this.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Simple, charming story-driven puzzle(-ish) game. Most of the puzzles really don't take lots of thinking to solve but still enough to feel engaging. There's a couple moments where you have to visit a specific place at specific time, which makes it feel like you proceeded by accident instead of thinking, which is a bit unsatisfying. The game does outstay it's welcome a bit towards the end, which is funny for such a short game. For those who want all achievements, there are 2 you can easily miss.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is fine. I liked the art style, puzzles are not annoying and rather logical. On the downside - the story is too simple and predictable, it lacks emotional component and scale. Given the atmosphere in the beginning i was expecting more from the plot.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pros - Great art-style, the pre-rendered scenes look great. - Easy to use interface, game is entirely playable with the mouse, including exiting the game. - Simple but engaging point and click style game-play with the typical inventory based puzzles. - Interesting story and setting. Cons - No voice acting - Game gets very linear towards the end, felt a bit rushed. - No hot-spot reveal tool. - Very short. I left the game running at bit so my time is significantly overstated. I got this heavily…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Casual, relaxing and short HOG game with beautiful visuals. The puzzles were quite easy though in general.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Feels nostalgic to play these games. I used to play these Point and Click all the time when I was a kid and seeing one in 2023 was an instant purchase for me. If you're looking for a quick game to play and are a Point and Click fan, then I believe this game is for you. The puzzles aren't too difficult, the art of the characters are simple but they did a great job. I will say that there were times where I had trouble wondering what to do since there isn't a hint button, it made it easy to get…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good. Simple, relaxing, nice art. Good choice for a short casual gaming session.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Endearingly pretty design, reasonable (for a change) puzzles, an engaging story. In all, an enjoyable, challenging enough indie game, which keeps the player's interest alive till the end. If the dialogues were actually voiced over instead of just showing the subtitles, that might enhance immersion in the story. A list of credits would also be nice. But even as is, The Wild Case makes for a lovely little mystery excursion in a semi-abandoned village and its surrounding forest, with likeably…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While the game was pretty simple and I wish there were voice overs, it was really cozy. Other than the abandoned town feeling, each and every house or storefront had someone to interact with. Everyone had a mission, something to say and something to exchange. You almost always knew what to do next. It was simple yet good and fun. I would highly recommend it, and while it starts off simple, it gets better and more involved as it goes. Definitely check it out.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wanted to like it. I play and enjoy many mystery/detective games. This one was too short, too much useless dialog and unfortunately, just boring. Very disappointed.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →That's rather a neutral review, but it's closer to positive, since game is fine actually. The artwork is really good, puzzles are mostly logical and not overcomplicated. Story is ok in the first half, it starts slowly and kinda interesting, but the end feels stupid and rushed. Third act feels like developers were short on time and money, so decided to finish game quickly. Overall it's a decent puzzle game for casual users for a decent price (regional price in my case). Additional thanks for…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Quite short but very nice game. Drawings and sounds were perfect, game loop very smooth. I never got stuck more than let say 5 minutes.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a great point & click adventure game, focused on telling the story. Not for beginners, because it's not easy to find some solutions. There's no hints and clues where is the next action. I love games of this kind, but I got stuck a couple of times. ;C Very atmospheric graphics, nice climate, challenging puzzles. It's short, but sufficient. I recommending The Wild Case and waiting for more :D
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A great little game, not the longest, says i only played just under 3 hours but seemed more, atmospheric graphics, good story-line thats easy to follow and good puzzles, found all achievements but one but only cos I didnt know you had to ask everyone about the maths puzzle, Would recommend it to all my friends, well done developers cant wait for your next game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Some give thumbs down on this game because it is a "trail of errands"....but that is exactly why I liked it, as that's what escape rooms are and I always loved doing those too. Superior graphics (akin to the Syberia/Myst genre), humorous interactions with the locals (smith, moonshiner, butcher, etc.) and a mystery of the red eyed forest creatures to solve all make for a highly enjoyable experience. Other games from this developer are now in my queue.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Finished! A decent adventure game with nice scenery. Very short though, and the text speed is soooooooo slooooow...
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Got mentally triggered by the first "puzzle" (its a mind numbing trail of errands) and apparently based on other reviews; that's how it continues to be a "puzzle" game all the way to the end. It's literally a "If you give a mouse a cookie" book with a beautifully gritty art style and annoying hints. If you enjoy errand-heavy puzzles this might be for you...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Okay, cute game with an interesting little mistery. Story is good but simple, I really liked it bc the ending is worth. Puzzles are easy but I don’t know why some of them were automatic and I did not like that (like the slingshot and the horsekey puzzle to open the blacksmith door). Despite this, in general I liked it. Perfectly playable with the steam deck.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice visuals, and UI is reasonably good. I would wait for it to come on sale as it was under three hours playtime. Characters aren't very personable, no one really stands out and some of the dialogue is weird, may be due to translation, Since the game is not originally in English, you do lose a bit of the "color" found in similar games, like not being able to read any of the posters or newspaper articles, but it doesn't affect game play. There's no hint button so if you get stuck go back and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Surprising depth to this very short point and click adventure game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is so different from the other adventure games that I wanted to leave positive feedback. One writer said it has elements of a HOPA without the HOPs. That is true. The story is strong and cohesive.. I did not find myself asking, "Wait, why am I doing that?" Once I started, I didn't stop playing. There are no hints or helps. I don't think you'll need them, but Steam has a walkthrough. I got stuck 2x and that was because I needed to go back & talk to a character. It has a map, but I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Loved it! Especially the art style. Would be great to see a sequel one day!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well done point and click adventure with a good story and ending. As some others have said, this game could serve as a good introduction to adventure games for hidden object game fans. I really enjoyed this game. And it ran flawlessly under Linux with the native version.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fairly short point & click game, with a passable story, nice audio and graphics, cool atmosphere and easy to medium puzzles. It's pretty linear for the most part, but in certain stages you can gather clues/object in a non-specific order. The translation is mostly pretty good, but the use of text instead of actual voice acting takes much out of the experience imo. Another con is that there's no replay value once you finish it. There are no alternate endings or anything like that, plus there is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Wild Case: 8 out of 10 Gorgeous art style! Good short story. No voice acting :/ Puzzles not too easy nor difficult.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was a simple yet entertaining point and click that exceeded my expectations. I loved the graphics and that the story. The tasks and story were cohesive and everything you were asked to do made sense. No mini-games or hidden object scenes, but it was actually refreshing to play without them for once. Only downside for me was that I wished it was longer because I was enjoying it so much!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cute little budget adventure game in the same style/engine as many hidden-object games...just an adventure and no random minigames. Kind of reminds me of a certain cartoon mystery series in how obvious the story was, but overall short, fun and cheap. Achievements are mostly unmissable with just a few outliers. Perfectionists may want to check a guide ahead of time as there's one near the very start that will be highly annoying if you miss. Also like the average HOG, there is just New Game…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Was fun and what I expected. Win in my book.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm giving this game a "yes" recommendation because Steam has no "maybe" option and it's got enough good points not to rate a "no". This is a decent enough game. The story is interesting, the graphics are good and the puzzles aren't difficult. My biggest complaint is how short the game is, I finished it in just over 2 hours and that's it, there's no more. I can't see myself playing it again for at least a year or more, there's very little replay value once you know the story. I bought it on…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game, though it took a total of 103 minutes to complete everything other than one achievement. It's a nice distraction for a bit.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is a beautiful game, i dont even get to the end yet but the game hooked me up with really nice art and very good atmosphere. To me the game is worth to buy.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Loved the adventure without hand holding. Get your thinking caps on! Great story, characters, and scenery that was highly immersible. Enjoyed my trek within The Wild Case, thank you!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice little P&C game to pass 2-3 hours with. Nice drawings and atmosphere, decent story in a rural russian village, okay animations for this genre. There aren't really any puzzles here to solve tho, you just have to use common knowledge and basic logic to progress, like put X and Y together, oil the rusted lock etc.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Excellent point and click adventure. It doesn't have moon logic problems and it respects your time. Had a lot of fun with it. Easy recommendation!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A casual 2D adventure game with a pretty art style but basic story and gameplay. I got this during the Steam Detective Fest thinking it was a mystery-solving game, and there is a mystery in the story but you don't do any detective work in the gameplay. The thing that attracted me was the art, and it is a very beautiful game with a combination of static 2D environments along with minor animations to bring the illustrations to life. The reason I'm giving this a positive review is for that…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I can recommend this If you want something very easy and very short. Good for an unwinding and relaxing, easy as heck game play.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this is a mysterious, relaxing 2.2h game about a village. good point and click. greyish but beautifully drawn scenery. i love how this game has slavic things in it. its just fun to me as a russian person seeing people around the world play this game.. i also appreciate that the developer decided to show other people what slavic culture is like.. banya, vodka, old houses and stereotypical villagers. hahahah!!! 10/10 for that. thanks for the good hours, enjoyed it. lastly i would like to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Quick little adventure game, reminds me of those children games where you can't really lose and it's just a series of logic problems to continue the story, but they are at least very approachable, beat it in 2 hours without a guide. For the sale price it's worth it. I enjoyed the unease and the killer animal aspect of it. The ending was a very Scooby Doo-esk twist.
