42 of 42 · most liked firstA classic point and click game. I think it remains my favourite of the 2 Chronicles of Mystery and City Interactives others, the 3 Art of Murder games... Beautiful graphics , intriguing story and smooth game play. (edited) There a couple of games by this developer which are re makes of the original adventure games . They are the ones with the hidden object scenes and are really NOT worth your while>
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →these are my favourite types of games and there just not made anymore which is terrible. i loved this game , great puzzles story and kept my interest for 10 hours,i dont rush through games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Thumbs down! This game is the second in the Chronicles of Mystery series. It’s not much different from the first game. It’s another disappointing point and click adventure with weird moon logic. What’s really bad is that there are two point and click puzzles that must be completed before a timer runs out. I’m not a big fan of timed puzzles in general, but I think they really seem out of place in a game where nothing else has a time limit. They might as well throw in a puzzle which is really a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →pros: + great looking and detailed pre rendered 2D graphics which also aged very well + good looking character models + pretty and exotic locations + great background musics + puzzles are mostly enjoyable. there are many inventory puzzles you can combine some items and a few timed puzzles. + well made cinematic cutscenes + decent voice acting + when you click to question mark, hotspots is highlighted. No need to hunt for pixels. + many different cast of side characters + with a intriguing plot…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game have some technical difficulties, first it did show up any visuals just black screen and some audio, after trying compability settings it run, show cinematics and what not but every sentence in voice over was cut in half, doesn't matter what settings I tried nothing helped and playing game where you can hear only half of every sentence is annoying as hell :/
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoyed this (moderate scale) point and click adventure, although it does have a few flaws. It's certainly worth the price, especially on sale. The protagonist is an intelligent, slightly adventure-happy young archaeologist (also in the first game of series, Scorpio Ritual). In Tree of Life, she travels from Brittany to Venice to Cairo to Gibraltar trying to unravel the mysteries of a Spanish conquistador's box and maybe even the secret of immortality. Suspend your disbelief and go along…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The graphics, sound, and voice acting were great. Interface and navigation were easy & smooth. The story line kept my attention engaged throughout There were plenty of things to find, combine, & use. The game keeps taking you to new locations so you won't feel claustrophobic. If you like adventure games that keep your brain and mouse busy, you'll like this one. Good adventure games are getting scarce.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My God I wanted so badly to give this game a thumbs up, and I Love Adventure games, but it was more frustrating than fun. I'm not quite sure where to begin. You had very limited locations and options. Without spoiling anything, the box puzzle early in the game, you'd never know what to do without the walkthrough. There were no clues or references or indicators. Nothing. Then the map puzzle was a complete washed out ugly mess. There were no indicators of how the land masses were supposed to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Running this game in Win10 the game goes through the initial load screens ok but the game area is offset and this is probably due to my screen resolution of 1920 x 1080. The game is then stuck in the first game screen and I am unable to play the game at all. I am left with no option but to uninstall and regret the loss of money spent on this game. I would be grateful for any helpful comments and suggestions.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun point and click adventure. It has great soundtrack. A few of the solutions are very dumb, but for the most part it's a great fun. Ending is terrible, though. 7/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very nice classical adventure game! The story got to me and opens up a great philosophical discussion. From this developer I have also enjoyed the Art of Murder series, and even though I prefer detective mysteries, I think The Tree of Life is my favourite amongst them. The first part, the Scorpio Ritual was not bad either, and is a good introduction to the main character if nothing else. I wish there'd be more such games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This point & click game just okey. Nice puzzles.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'd say this one is more of play at your own risk. So mostly neutral, it's playable and you can finish it. A stocking stuffer to the adventure game enthusiast. Luckily, old as it is, I personally didn't experience any game-breaking bugs. I did encounter only in one section, the part people said that the dialogue seemed to cut off towards the end but perhaps closing and opening the game fixed it for me? But it only ever happened in one section and not for very long. There are the occasional…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am Silvie Leroux, French archaeologist who, in the previous game "The Scorpio Ritual" from 2008, tracked down a conspiracy with Temple Knights and Illuminati. In the second game, "The Tree of Life" from 2010, the quest for the Fountain of Youth is central. The nice thing about this game is that there is always something to do. In many games you sometimes have to walk around for a long time looking for the current goal, for what you are supposed to do. Here you do not have to look everywhere…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →More challenging and significantly longer than the first Chronicles of Mystery game. I very much enjoyed the first 75% or so, but I felt it lost its way towards the end, with a silly plot and finale. However, well worth a playthrough. Puzzles were always fair and I didn't need a walkthrough at all.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →10 out of 10. I really enjoyed this game and the puzzles were not too hard.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Enjoyed this game from Start to Finish, the puzzles aint to difficult which i like, the stories intense at times, i like the art style and it was overall a good experience, Defiantly worth the 85p i paid XD
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Typical janky adventure title that will frustrate more than entertain. Moon logic to solve obtuse puzzles? In spades. Poor translations that extend into the game's credits? Oh, yeah. Laughably bad English voice cast with no direction, resulting in many mispronounced words? Yup. The infamous sliding tile puzzle that no adventure gamer wants to see ever again? Of course. Ugly, disproportionate character models with stiff, handmade animations? All but one...and it's not the protagonist that…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →We spent more time looking a panning shots and talking. We spent all our time trying to figure out how to play one puzzle. Total waste of time if you want to do puzzles.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Story Puzzle game. Not as fun or as witty as monkey island but it kills time. Managed to complete the game without any hints or google. Only struggled on the last puzzle with the three rings. just kept spinning till i got it lol
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a much more polished game than the first one, and a decent sequel too. So chances are that if you liked the first one you'll like this one too.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →as with every other 3d point and click game from city interactive, the dialogue is atrocious, the puzzles are moon logic incarnate, and the plot is awful with a terrible ending. and for that reason, i give it my highest recommendation, as there is nothing more fun than sitting down for an afternoon to play one of these things with a walkthrough on standby
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great story and characters, real classic.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not bad I found out i was playing out of order i would recommend buying on all i purchased all of them in the series would say 7/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game! But there is a sound bug that cuts off the end of almost every vocal interaction. There are subtitles so it is still playable, but it is very annoying. Interesting plot. Good voice acting. Standard type point and click adventure. Decent length. Good graphics for the time. You don't need to play the first game to play this one, but there are mentions of the first one if you have played. A couple of the puzzles were super hard and I needed to look up a walkthrough a couple times. If it…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The story is better than the first CoM game, some puzzles are still too "moon logic" and there are also unnecessary dialogues. But still worths a playthrough for an adventure game fan.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun point and click mystery with some history thrown in. I love this series.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't mind the old school graphics, but there are some technical problems when playing. I had to scale down my desktop resolution to play this game. Otherwise everything is zoomed in and offset so that you can only see a small section of the game. The cut scenes look blocky and poorly rendered, nothing like the trailers. The writing for dialogue and voice acting are bad. They have poor flow and inflection, like someone reading a script out loud the first time they see it. Not sure if…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The story is a clichefest - something Causabon and Belbo from Eco's Foucault Pendulum would laugh about, and then send the author to Manuzio to be gently deprived of his savings. The Templars are having a rest this time (remember - we had the Hospitalers last time), so we chase the Elixir of Life with the immortal Count Saint Germain - here a grumpy, out of shape middle aged man who complains about everything and never gets anything done. The already shoddy writing is further muddied by the bad…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Finished! Overall I liked it, though some of the puzzle solutions were really obscure, plus there were a couple of annoying timed sections.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The pre-rendered backgrounds look really nice, voice acting was decent, interface and controls were pretty good although at times it doesn't seem possible to skip dialog (works fine most of the time) the puzzle design was also mostly okay although there was a few try everything with everything moments though and certainly a few I definitely tried that already moments. Story was quite engaging as well. Overall Its not exceptional but if you like point and clicks then you should definitely enjoy…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great old fashioned style adventure game . Nice story, artwork and voice acting. Game play works smoothly. Would definitely recommend for fans of the genre.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think I might hate this game. The graphics are horrible, you can’t change the resolution (which is terrible), the game is annoying and when I started playing I walked around and tried to click on stuff but it mostly just repeated “you can’t do this yet”. Such objects shouldn’t be clickable then. There are way better point and click adventures on Steam. Due to its technical problems and its boringness, I can’t recommend this game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →very good old style adventure game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The games runs fine on modern computers(windows 10). No tiny resolution issues. Plays exactly like Art of Murder series and Syberia. The game does not have over complicated puzzles except the Slider puzzle. I have added some Puzzle tips on steam discussion because walk through failed to mention them. This is the 2nd game in the series and no time puzzles except dog one. Puzzle tips. https://steamcommunity.com/app/837090/discussions/0/3109152828481968772/
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Chronicles series were very good because (and only because) we played The Scorpio Ritual and The Tree of Life. Whatever you do, don't soil these first two excellent games with the two jokes that are the latter two.... you have been warned..!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i liked it a lot! ... the puzzles were either super easy or super hard ... including a few sliding type puzzles that seemed impossible at first, as you had no idea what to do ... the dialog was excruciatingly drawn out at times, and was easily the worst part of the game ... (i did encounter a serious game killing bug, where i had to go back and replay a section from the beginning, only picking up the items i currently needed (or the elevator would not work!!!) ... this left me wondering at…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Interesting story and puzzles. Perfect for a rainy afternoon with nothing better to do.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am pretty tolerant of dated point-and-clicks, but this really isn't very good. I felt the protagonist was especially dense - and it just dragged. Plus the dialog clipping off in the middle was annoying. The hint "?" would sometimes show the available hotspots and sometimes did not. Sorry got to down vote this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the puzzles and the clues are appropriate, not too hard not too easy
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Standard point and click and double click for running. Nice story. Strange there is no reviews. newly released to steam?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i liked this game
