60 of 68 · most liked firstI've played all games, and completed one of them (Detective Chirpums). Here is what I think: Test Chamber: After playing some levels, I can say this is, to me, the best game in this package. Very interesting puzzles that require seeing things from different angles, nice Fez-looking characters and clean, cool graphics. Roguelight: Really nice rogue-like game, which has a very interesting play with light, nice gameboy-like graphics and many upgrades. I've reached level 3, and I plan to try it a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Out of the 5 games in this, there is only one I've disliked. Roguelight is a fun and clever little Roguelike with a light and dark mechanic, hets is a really fun and fast-paced action game, Test Chamber is a cute and interesting puzzle game, and Detective Chirpums is a cute little noir-style adventure game. The only game I disliked was Laza Knitez, which I felt was sorta slow and poorly made. Overall, though, a really great package that is absolutely worth the price.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I spent my $8.50 not really expecting to get anything out of it, but i found this quirkly little spattering of games to be much more entertaining than I expected. My personal favorite was the mini-noir-like point and click "Dectective Chirpums" which had a smooth and spicy feel to it, with a story intriguing enough to warrant a playthrough. The art style was also very appealing to my anthro side, with all charachters being birds - in my opinion an under-drawn animal. The other titles on the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →None of these games were truly good games, most of them are unfinished or their premise just doesn't work. Can't recommend this game at all. I ordered them from best to worst. Test Chamber: Generic block moving puzzles, not super interesting but it is easily the best and most finished game in this bundle. Roguelight: The visuals look great and the movement and combat is enjoyable. However the core premise that it is dark and you have very limited light sources doesn't really work. Not being…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I suppose...it's a mixtape. So it's hit and miss. Some of the games are good. Some of them are bad. But overall, personally - I believe the bad outway the good (maybe it will change later, I don't know) I've played them all, and there's only one I liked. The other 4 are bland, repetitive and lack any depth. They have nothing going for them. No story. No fun gameplay. Nothing. The only one I liked was the puzzle game which actually has fun puzzles and a good story, the rest are complete and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is the year 2020 and the two most promising games of this bundle (hets and Roguelight) still do not support the standard WASD-controls. I don't want to go left and right by pressing the left and right arrow keys, jump by pressing W and look up by pressing arrow up. And I don't want to press Alt+Enter to be able to see something else than a completely white screen in Roguelight. LAZA KNITEZ!! could be fun with some friends, but should get old very quickly. I can't say much about the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →a nice, diverse and tasty mix of games that i'd highly recommend to anyone remotely into small things beyond the spotlight. not sure what those """laza knitez""" people were thinking but this bundle is definitely worth the price!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →controls suck😥😣
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Got it for Roguelight. Love that little game. The rest I didn't care for personally, they're all pretty ok. Wasn't worth full price for me since I was only targeting one game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The menu to browse the game feels sluggish and awkward to the point i feel like i'm using some pirated third-party software. The games aren't much better; each one has its unique flaw that will make the game annoying to play and get very boring within the first minute of gameplay. And the little cherry on top is that these are byte-size games and you probably would be hopping from game to game, but to do that you need to close the game you're playing, re-launch the collection because apparently…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For what it's worth, there's cool ideas here but I just don't think this package is worth £6.99, rather it might be an okay deal on sale. My favourite game was Roguelight, it had a decent overall gimmick and was a fun quick game to beat. The other games just didn't do it for me. Detective Chirpums is a story based point and click, which I didn't bother with since I couldn't get it it to work in widescreen and it had no music, so its charming presentation couldn't save it for me. The puzzle game…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love the aesthetic but controls sucks too much
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fairly short game collection. Here is a fairly quick review of the 5 games you get in this collection. Just a fair warning that most of the games do not list out the controls they use or have the option to use full screen. HETS: It's a shooty level based action game with a unique color artstyle. Not bad, but nothing too exciting either. LAZAKNITEZ!!!: Probably the best game of the bundle. It's like Joust, but in a top down perspective with random power ups. Roguelight: It has a nice pixel…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a bundle of 5 games. Though 4 of them didn't really interest me, Roguelight was fantastic. It is a mix of Spelunky/Downwell with Rogue Legacy type rogue-lite permanent progression. Roguelight is a small game, but I had fun learning the secrets of mastering the game and collecting the upgrades. Well worth getting this bundle on sale for that game alone.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Worth it for RougeLight alone!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Drowned in a mixtape of jokes, where each beat feels like a party hat and the visuals are a rainbow of pixelated joy. I can't stop laughing, it's pure indie bliss!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Quite frankly I can see why this got bundled. It's very bland, very boring, and I'm not sure why anyone would pay $10 for this at all.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not worth the price, games with 0 controls options in game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A little mix of indiegames from great to meh. Roguelight is definitly the peak in this collection. Controls in some cases not so great, and sadly no achievements. Grab it in a sale in case you´re unsure.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not good for PC players. The control is not introduced. It's assuming you know how to play.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"Tune In!" for The Indie Mixtape, now available for only 2400 points on SomeAwesome.com! 🎵 A unique mix of indie game vignettes! Grab yours ASAP, this key will go fast! 🎮 #IndieGame #RPG #Adventure
unlabelledView post →I played 4 out of 5 games and only remember detective Chirpums but he's goated so just for that i'll recommend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There are 5 weird indie games with messed up controls that you have to guess.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Every single game in the mixtape is lacking proper sounds, music, settings menus and other various options. Just because the games are in a mixtape on Steam, doesn't mean they were originally polished enough to be sold on Steam.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A decent collection of "old-school-ish" minimalist titles that do what they say on the tin. Get it on sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Did you know that writing & drawing are magical acts? Are you hip to the SECRETSPACEPROGRAM? Got mushrooms? Do you eat sushi? Do you wish Andy Warhol had developed video games? Are you tired of Corporate oppression? Want to stick it to the man? ewww! Well check out this mixtape I found. Your mom is going to love it. Remember you have to flip it over before the tape stops because the cassette keeps getting stuck if you let it reach the end of side 1. Other than that 1989/1989 'nuff said.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Indie Mixtape is a collection of 5 small indie games of various genres and styles. As such, I'll split my review into sections for each game, and I'll keep it brief for each. The order I'll talk about these games is from best to worst IMO. Roguelight I'll be perfectly honest: The Indie Mixtape is worth buying just for this game! That's how high quality it is. Rouguelight is a roguelite game where you traverse deeper and deeper into a dungeon that gets progressively darker. Your way of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A good pickup if you can get it at a steep discount. All 5 of the games feel closer to game jam games or demos than complete experiences but you can easily get an hour out of each depending on your tastes in games. The two roguelites were where I spent most of my time. Test chamber I believe is an actually complete release and has/had a mobile storepage. The adventure/VN game 'Detective Chirpums' is the most like a game jam game and is over by the time it gets going. Mileage from the arcade…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Indie Mixtape (2015) The Indie Mixtape is a collection of five different games: #1 - Hets Hets is a platformer game where you run around and shoot statues in a world that keep randomizing. There are power ups to collect to fight the enemies with. The game got this funky rainbow colour setting in the darkness. #2 - Laza Knitez Basically an oldschool knight on a horse in space where your lance can shoot. Shoot down the enemy while you collect power ups along the way to do more insane stuff…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The indie mixtape is an underrated game that consists of 5 small games in it, i love the games and appreciate all artstyles, get this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →THE INDIE MIXTAPE 5 indie titles all in one, not a bad deal. They are all very short as I played a couple levels of each. Worth it on sale for 1$ but I wouldn't really pay more. Good deal at that price. Support Indie!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Definitely worth it on a sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This one contains 5 games of varying length and quality, so let’s do them in ascending order: Hets A rogue-like platformer about shooting statues while avoiding enemies. It’s kind of annoying because there don’t seem to be any invincibility frames whenever you get hit, so you can die in seconds whenever enemies gang up on you. Other than that, the mechanics are competent but nothing to write home about, which is par for the course when it comes to rogue-lite games. The art style really isn’t…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I see what you did there.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →kinda cool collection of games but id rather just buy the ones i wish to play like rogelight and hets on itch menu was kinda janky and i hate how if i wanna switch games i have to reopen the mixtape manualy u should prolly buy one great $10 game over these tho
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Worst collection of indie games I have ever seen. Yall should be ashamed that you even allow this slop.
Consiglio
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall: 3.2/10 Random game key: 38/152 This is just a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ collection of demos that have no point to them, no reason to buy or play it. Hets: 3/10 Visually nice, but mechanically and control-wise a mess. Lazaknitez!!!: 5/10 I mean it's not bad but not really worth playing either. Roguelight: 5/10 Same here as before. Test Chamber: 0/10 Don't even touch this one, it made my entire PC lag for one minute before I could turn it off. Detective Chirpums: Pi: 3/10 Boring as ♥♥♥♥
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A handful of crappy games that neither entertain or do anything interesting. A worthless package even on a deep sale.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love all of the games but I wonder if there will be an indie mixtape 2
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Worth it for Rouge Light
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Indie Mixtape consists of 5 small indie games, assembled by Publisher Curve in this neat little collection. There are 2 rogue like action plattformers, a game about knights in space which is a bit like starwhal, a puzzle game which requires you to push around cubes in an infinite universe and an adventure game, which puts you in the role of a private detective in a town full of birds. Expect the mixtape to entertain you for a couple of hours. Price is okay, maybe buy it on sale if youre…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Only really got enjoyment out of one of the games, but it's a cool concept!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its worth it just for rougelight. havent played the others yet they will hopefully be just as good
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Indie Mixtape is an experimental anthology collection developed by Daniel Linssen, Detective, Ditto, Glitchnap, and Shark Jump Studios, and published by Curve Games, that serves as a celebration of creativity within the indie gaming scene. Instead of presenting one long unified adventure, the game delivers several completely different experiences bundled together into a single package. Each section introduces its own mechanics, visual style, tone, and gameplay philosophy, creating a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Some of these games have good ideas, but none of them develop it enough for the game to be good.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a compilation of developer's "likely" practice games that they've done when they get overwhelmed rom working on a big project. in discount it becomes 57 cent, so 5 mediocre game for 60 cents seems like an amazing deal.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There are two games in this pack that are worth it: 1. Test Chamber - interesting and minimalist puzzles that revolve around infinite planes and sokoban mechanics. 2. Roguelight - an excellent small platformer. The movement feels good, I never felt that failures were due to anything else but my mistakes. The main thing is that you have few sources of light and your limited supply of flaming arrows serve as both weapon and a torch.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Out of the five games on offer, the only one I enjoyed was Rougelight. It’s a decent little roguelike platformer where holding your bow emits light in an increasingly dark dungeon. Managing your arrows is key, and collecting coins during each run allows you to improve your chances of success on subsequent attempts. I’d suggest picking this up on a deep sale—it's not something I’d recommend at full price.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got this for Roguelight which is a wonderful little game. The rest of the games on here are all absolutely wonderful too!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Boring and unfinished demos that should be free
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Worth the purchase!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Interesting little game. Really liked the colors and really struggled with the controls (at least in the game I played).
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →control scheme is a bit confusing sometimes i personaly dont like the aesthetic gameplay is basicly just standard platformer gameplay
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Five games, some of which are more beefy than others. 1. Hets: a 2D platform shooter with rougelite upgrades in between levels 2. Laza Knitez!!: An interesting 2D asteroids meets joust game, could be fun for couch multiplayer 3. Test Chamber: a beefy 2d box pushing puzzler with a twist, the world wraps around infinitely 4. Rogelight: a 2d platform rougelite with very limited ammo 5. Detective Chirpums: a visual novel/point and click adventure starring a hardboiled owl detective Overall, a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →not many fun games
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Roguelight is the best thing here,Hets is kinda like GoNNER but good,Detective Chirpums looks fine, and the other 2 games are hard to look at
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →All of the games are decently interesting, the detective story was the big highlight.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Test Chamber and Detective Chirpums are the only two of the bunch that are actually games with a proper gameplay and mechanics complex enough for release. The other three are very rough sketches of games that need a lot more work to be properly playable. Obviously, this is something one expects when playing an Indie Mixtape like this, so it's quite alright. I have seen better games on many game jams, so The Indie Mixtape is definitely not the best of the indie talent out there, but I like…
