20 of 20 · most liked firstThis is the finale of the Ashes of Immortality trilogy. It tries to blend all the threads left from the previous two volumes together and wrap them up. It does this well enough. Gameplay is similar to the prior two volumes, the plot is decent enough and the characters are amusing. Actually, there is an undertone of humor and 4th-Wall breaking in the game, so... Anyway, if you've made it this far in this series, may as well finish it.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would really like to play this game, but all I get when I start is a black screen. What are causes of that?

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand…

Ashes of Immortality II - Bad Blood is one of hundreds of low effort retro-pixel JRPG ripoffs spamming the Steam catalog, made with the RPG Maker video game construction kit... in their own words, "Our easy to use tools are simple enough for a child." Like all RPG Maker "games", this is essentially a bunch of low quality/canned assets from RPG Maker coupled with a cringeworthy high school anime club weeaboo fan fiction. Basically, these guys didn't make a game, they…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was enjoying this because the characters from the first game (which is great) are back, but I have the same issues with it as with Ashes of Immortality 2. Even worse actually as there is no Quest Log/Journal in this one. I make my own in spreadsheets, so first time thru any game is a "build" process for me, but with these two gamesyou don't know what you are supposed to do or where to go next. I try to follow the comments made by talking to characters, but if you miss anything - too bad!…

Shameless example of money grabbing by this developer, cashing in on the success of the first game in this series. It's a sloppy job, they didn't even take care to furnish rooms inside buildings properly and they rushed it so quickly that it came out with bugs like the one I had encountered. Features the lead characters of the first episode again + a Brazilian pirate like character, differs with the two previous games that you can switch…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Having played through all 3 of the Ashes of Immortality Games now I can safely say this was better than the second one, in that it did better to guide the player around to their locations but it relied heavily on you having recently played the second game to memories locations. However what is most disappointing is that this game came out many years ago and seemingly has no conclusion. The story was left wanting, the game felt like it ended at a very abrupt point with a black screen and "to…

Built around traditional role-playing mechanics and a retro-inspired presentation style, the game favors character development and storytelling over large-scale exploration or modern cinematic spectacle. It embraces an old-school design…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short third game in the Ashes series that ends in a huge cliffhanger. Some things are a bit confusing like the city of Collinsworth. I could not find a way to clear out all the enemies, they just keep respawning. It seems the only purpose is leveling up if you need to.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoyed Ashes of Immortality 1 and 2, but this game is a disappointment. There are no side quests. There is no quest log. You spend ages flapping round the world trying to find some elusive venue to further the story. The ending ... to be continued ... But it won't be.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the game ends in an absurd cliffhanger just after like 3h of gameplay. this is preposterous. Should have been a demo version at the very best. It's ridicoulous to even sell it as it is.
