You'll have 1 - 2 hour interactive story where you'll have to look for clues here and there, read some notes and newspapers. 2. The voice acting is great! I enjoyed it a lot! I think the voices were very nice to listen to and the voice actors did a great job conveying their character's emotions. Disadvantages: 1. The game does poor job explaining what you should do. It's so confusing at the start. I'll describe the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is 17€ for my region and max 1hour long, but to reach that playtime you also need to be lost a bit and just admire the forest. A usual movie has doubled length than this game and the cinema ticket here is about 6-7€. That means the game costs 2 cinema tickets and a big 2person pop-corn. Hmm, so the alternative for this price is a date and that could end up with some bedroom action… I guess you know what i'm talking about:-) There are some walking simulators with decent stories which…

Passion projects are always a mixed bunch. It’s kind of hard faulting a solo developer for trying to express and put his thoughts, feelings and meanderings onto digital paper and sharing his work. But when your work is a glorified, overpriced, about 70 minutes long Unreal Engine demo that just slightly comes off as pretentious art, some criticism is probably well deserved. The…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Alright. The Fabled Woods is done and dusted. This is a walking simulator with a fairly unique "remember" mechanic that I'll talk about later. I think my quick synopsis is that it was an interesting game and is pretty good as a walking sim. The story itself was good enough to keep the game moving forward but wasn't particularly noteworthy. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3430186694 Right. So, the story is told through the eyes of three different characters. Sort of. Or…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An Unfinished stone: The Fabled woods is part of these games which promises more than they deliver. The narration, at first was grabbing, the visuals were in harmony with the dark and hard tone of Larry. The bright colours, contrast and efforts put unto the foliage was like a potent cocktail attacking your eyes and imprinting fear and anxiety in your mind. The story quickly throws you in the mystery, blood, an abandoned camp and the elusive messages of Larry. Unfortunately the story also…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →€6? That makes the walk in the forest expensive.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →https://youtu.be/H8ABpKg4CAI I thoroughly enjoyed this game. Beautiful graphics and sounds, and the voice acting is superb. It is easy to get lost in this world as you unravel the story, right until the very end where it all makes shocking sense. A great story, and completed in around 1.3-2 hours for regular gameplay.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I beat this game in 40 minutes. 40. Minutes. Now, I'm usually a big defender of indie games that are shorter than their AAA competitors, with play times of anywhere between 4 and 10 hours, but $10 for a 40 minute game just is not worth it. On top of that, when I defend shorter games, they tend to have really memorable stories, really engaging gameplay, or really interesting mechanics. This game has none of those. Yes, there is a "hold space to remember" power that you use to find clues, that…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A decent walking sim with beautiful graphics, a great soundtrack and awesome narration. It's short, about an hour long, but often on sale for 1-2 bucks.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Beautiful story, beautiful graphics, I recommend it as a walking simulator.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As mentioned by other reviewers, the level design is VERY unintuitive. I spent ages walking around in and out of RED vision supposedly trying to follow clues. There was one blood spatter and the stuff on the ground was tipped over. I then watched the dev livestream for 20 minutes to see them walk all the way back along the trail which is apparently what you are supposed to do. (They spent half the time messing with Ray tracing settings...sigh) There is nothing in the game that would inspire me…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Only buy at heavy discount and consult a guide before playing because there are missable achievements and there is no option for chapter selection.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sadly despite I like this kind of games. I had a lot of problems. Specifically one upon which every click I made also work at my desktop. No matter how many times I changed the settings, this recurrent issue, make my gameplay slowly whilst my frustration go up. There is no way, I can replay this in the near or far future. Hope Devs fix this, because I am sure I am not the only one 5/10 (★★★☆☆).
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fabled Woods is a dark Walking Simulator tale about grim incidents in a beautiful landscaped forest. Three intertwining narratives to be uncovered, piece by piece, as you hunt for clues to what happened. Full Game Review Video https://youtu.be/DEv3DuF5NHU It needs to be underlined that Fabled Woods is a classical Walking Simulator. Which means you explore at your own pace in an experience built from the ground up for fans of the puzzle free, death free storytelling, comparable to games…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →EDIT: The game's an endeavour of a sole developer. The article I read seems to be a bit off and I must've misread the credits. I screwed up. REVIEW: It's kind of awkward writing this since I haven't had an experience like this in a while. Something that I was excited for, had issues running, got working, got excited again and was ultimately let down once again. It's almost a game where I think the left arm had no idea what the right arm was doing and they just cobbled this together. So to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's not like I regret having bought and played this game and what it has definitely going for it are wonderful woods that, especially with the RTX effects enabled, look really great. Beautiful reflections and the lighting in general really make the outside areas stand out. Unfortunately the same can't be said for the indoor areas, which mostly look quite low-budget and are a stark contrast to what the game looks like when you're out in the open. The start of the story is promising and I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a short game, so like others have pointed out, you'll want to wait and get it on sale. But oh man, what an experience! The graphics are gorgeous. The music and sound design are fantastic. There was so much care put into little details, like articles ripped from newspapers or generic whisky labels. The message about forgiveness and letting go is a little weirdly delivered but hey, I'm here for it. This game is a feast for the eyes and ears, and the coziest short horror game I've ever…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Best 99 cents I've ever spent other than buying a cold drink in hot weather. Definitely worth it if you can find it while there is a discount, one of the best 1 or 2 hours you will spend in your week when you play it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Been waiting nearly a year and a half for any word of a update to fix a bug. Even a comment explaining that the bug cannot be found to be fixed would be something but it's absolute radio silence. I see others complaining on the forum as well, and it's clear this game is not optimised or properly QA'd. Avoid.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For what this game is, It's amazing! You start off in a beautiful scenic forest with only questions, the story draws you in and makes you want to know more about the characters. If you appreciate fine detail then look no further. This game is short in story which is my only concern. I haven't completed it yet but I understand it's a small indie game. I just know I'm gonna want more, I promise you want to experience more of this beauty. I rate it a 4.5/5 overall. Keeping me occupied and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I just finished my first playthrough and I'll have to say it was an interesting quite artsy experience! The Fabled Woods is a classic walking simulator with a less classic or better: less conventional story. It has some serious Alan Wake/Stephen King vibes and I couldn't stop until I reached the end. Sure, it isn't that long but I'd rather have 2 hours of great story telling and overall a great gameplay experience than 10 hours+ of repetetive stuff. The atmosphere, the voice acting, the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good! Great graphics, performance, and story. Cool woods and camping/cabin atmosphere. Never got stuck. Can't think of any con's, it was all well done. Don't forget to look at the PDF of the notebook after you finish the game, it has a few extra little details. Includes DLSS, RTX, and Razer Chroma integration as extra nice bonus'
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As an avid fan of games like Firewatch and Gone Home, this game caught my eye as something that I would really enjoy. I will say though, not quite as great as Firewatch was for me, but still, for a small indie team or solo developer, this game was definitely worth it for me. The story is good, no it's nothing groundbreaking or vastly different to anything you haven't heard already; BUT I do enjoy seeing how different people approach telling a story, and visually this game really is stunning,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played the demo of this and fully enjoyed it, i purchased this for someone and myself. And sadly I must say that it was not worth it. The game can literally take 20 minutes to complete. For the price I don't think that its worth it, it is easily like a $5 game. I really had high hopes.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It surprises me how there are some people who hold smaller indie games, that were developed by very small teams, or even ONE person, to the same level of expectation to that of huge AAA games. For a smaller indie game, I feel like this was very well made. You can tell that the developer put in quite a bit of effort in the world design. It's really a beautiful game, with great music that brings you into the environment, and pretty decent voice acting. The mechanics are actually pretty cool…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First and foremost, there is a LOT to be proud of for the devs releasing this game. The environment is gorgeous and it does a great job of creating a mood/feeling that matches the story even without the graphics being set to Epic or RTX being enabled (My 1070 was choking on Epic settings but handled High just fine). The gameplay is reminiscent of What Remains of Edith Finch in that movement is relatively slow and works mostly just to advance the story. Since it's not *that* common of a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fabled woods a fantastic first-person story driven narrative. Rating of 80%. Pros: Beautiful atmosphere Story driven Amazing soundtrack Cons: Game is unstable on my RX 580 got multiple crashes see gameplay below. Clue vision only lasts a few seconds prompting to repeat activation. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29iSi8M-sNY&t=6s
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →EDIT: Bug issues appear to be fixed, and the game is now playable. Still was frustrating at the start, but after day-1 patches, was able to complete the game. Not the best story / walking sim, but not worth a thumbs down. So, flipped to an up. 90 minutes playing, got stuck for 45 in the 1st area (camp) and 45 in the 2nd area (cabin). Had to look at a video for each. In the camp area, there's a single rock that blends in perfectly with everything else that you need to click. Doesn't stand…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very short walking simulator. But... It's not its worst problem. Thing is, it's simply boring. The story is pointless (SPOILERS: A dude killed a few people "for science" and has a guilty conscience. How inspiring, fresh and unique! ), visuals are... Alright, I guess? Sometimes alright, sometimes not so much but lighting is a real problem here. Why the hell is it so dark? I can barely see a thing at times! And changing settings doesn't help. Oh, btw, some settings are broken, like VSync - no…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I finished the game and read it is made to memories of a loved one, it's impressive and respectful. The main reason for a negative review is the bugs. During my one-hour gameplay I quit the main menu 5 times and picked up from the last save because the game can't load correctly. Too many times it goes black/ white screen, once I was transformed to a rooftop and stuck there. The content could be richer. There are 3 people in different professions. It should be easy to go a bit deeper. One is…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →awesome game, great graphics, and fun to play.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Fabled Woods is a little gem that is clearly underestimated! From the first minute I was hauled into this wonderful world and couldn't stop playing until the end. The gameplay may feel linear for some people but the story and voice acting makes it a really enjoyable experience that I wish I could forget to play it again! You can clearly tell that the developer loves making games and that he has done everything he could to make The Fabled Woods an innovative game in the sea of bland…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Story driven game, beautiful rtx graphics and overall is a VERY well made game I haven't ran into many if not any bugs I'd say if you can run rtx graphics and are into narrative story games then try The Fabled Woods!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing game, beautiful graphics, RTX capability.. best game i've played in a long time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Fabled Woods is a story-rich adventure game with some dark twists. You explore around a forest, using your memory power to see what happened in the past and piece together clues to present day mysteries. This one is eerie and intriguing, please see this video for my full feelings: https://youtu.be/-NaAJjIHa6E Thank you!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It feels a bit like the tail wagged the dog on this one. I cannot explain precisely why, but I get the feeling that the design of this game started with the assets that they had available and that they worked backwards to craft a narrative story to support the objects that they had at their disposal. That feeling persisted throughout, as the visuals were decent and yet everything else felt a bit half-baked. This is not the most engaging or interesting walking sim / narrative adventure in the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got this for 90% off purely because I wanted the points shop background for my profile. From a distance it looks like a beautiful brief walk through the woods with a twist ending. Up close it's incredibly low-res, with impressively lazy animations and occasional screen-tearing issues. I beat it in just under 90 minutes, only because I was taking my time. I'm convinced it could be done in half that time. The story is decent, the twist ending is foreshadowed but I didn't expect it to go where…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Interesting ... The graphics, music and SFX create an atmospheric environment. I had to take a few breaks as the movement caused some motion sickness which I don't normally get. There are some missable achievements. I recommend looking at a guide before starting if wanting to get 100% on a single playthrough.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Based on the mixed reviews, I almost passed this game up; but really glad I didn't. You start out in the woods wandering around trying to figure out what's happened; then you discover you have an ability to toggle back and forth in a "vision" mode that allows you to "follow the clues" as a narrator reveals his/her story and what led to their demise. Eventually, there was enough mystery about what was happening to make me start looking over my shoulder as I progressed through the stories.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A lovely walking narrative game, with absolutely stunning scenery. I found the experience very relaxing. You can complete the game in around an hour. Whilst the story is nice, it's nothing new but it still kept me interested. The game play is very simple, I didn't have any problems working out what to do. I recommend playing this game, but I probably wouldn't pay over £6 for it simply because it's short.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →[url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/9686972/]Follow "First Person Exploration and Puzzle Games" for more games like this! This is a pure walking simulator with no puzzles. You walk around a forest while various narrators tell their stories, with all the threads coming together in the end. The forest itself is beautiful, and the voice acting is fantastic. But unfortunately the game suffers from a number of problems, the foremost being that the writing style feels kludgy and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A beautifully structured and well put together game. While I did experience a few glitches (an invisible wall stopping me from crossing a bridge causing me to end up reloading the game, and some texture discolouration flashing on and off at times) I thoroughly enjoyed the story and the style of gameplay. The graphics and music are definite highlights of the game, and the only real complaint I had while playing it was that it was sometimes frustrating to not have the ability to toggle the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There is not a lot of actual gameplay in The Fabled Woods. You walk around a lot and click on anything with a glowing outline. 90% of what you click on is superficial, despite being able to rotate and examine a wide assortment of objects, but then you will eventually come to an object that sparks some dialogue and advances the story. Exploration periodically ends at a blocked path forcing you to use your “memory vision” to hunt for clues. This usually transports you to a dreamlike world…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this was an excellent walking simulator type game, told an interesting story, the graphics were absolutely excellent running with RTX and DLSS. The voice acting/audio and music were also very well done. If you enjoy experiencing a story through a video game, this is a nice one to enjoy.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm not very far into this game but WOW the atmosphere! The red view needs to be extended. When I was first told to use it, it went away before I could understand what was happening. I'm loving the story so far, I'm sure it can only get better!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What an amazing short game, The graphics are stunning and the voice acting is great...and the story...WOW!!!! I would highly recommend getting this quick game. Excellent job by the developer CyberPunch Studios. Great game, I so wanted to play it longer and know more about the characters we meet and our character. Again I can't say enough good about this game!!!! Can't wait to see more from this team!!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Simply nice walking sim with a good story, graphics and the thrilling touch. No more than that should be mentioned for it is to be completed at one sitting. If you have a heart on that I do recommend the game - on sale! For one buck it is a bargain, but with whole price it is a robbery,
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Beautiful walking simulator. A bit weird story. Short Normal price is overpriced, but if you get this with good discount (-90%) then it's well worth. Easyish Achievements, 100% / ~1h. (+couple hours idling for cards)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was clearly made to take advantage of the Epic Mega Grant, not to deliver a whole game. I paid $0.99 for the game, and was able to 'beat' the entire thing in 56 minutes (9/12 achievements- I missed 3 but could go back after reviewing steam community guide). Was the game worth it? Um... barely. I guess. Neat concept. It feels like a pitch deck, not a whole game. If they worked on a full version they could really have something here.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I can't really recommend this game. It's short and has fairly easy achievements, but it bleakens in comparison to other games of this genre. It doesn't offer any uniqueness. It's just bland, uninteresting and below par.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"I am not impressed by your performance." A 2021, 45 minute long game that still has bugs and with a not compelling story/mechanics. Has easy achievements but you might still need a guide to find them.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game looks nice, but it's short. Took me 1 hour to play through and I was taking my time. The story is okay, not unique, but not too predictable. There is a headbob setting, which is off as a default, but even with that, I started getting slight motion sickness, but nothing too bad. I'm still saying Yes as I read reviews and knew what I was getting. I paid €0,99 for this on sale, and it's worth that.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very short walking sim, finished in 40min. Story doesn't really make much sense, and I am fine with that, but walking sims MUST really deliver in the graphics department because it is what captivates and immerse the player. The dev did a good job creating a forest at least, but overall this feels like a student project, very unpolished. The water looks horrible, the reflections are grainy, there is a lot of glitching. The lighting is very bad too, colors are extremely over saturated. The…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love the idea of the game, as well as the beautiful graphics and set and setting, but movement and gameplay is so linear, it feels like I'm just following the exact direction the devs wanted me to. Pre-defined movement areas are so static and narrow that it feels like I'm on a kids ride at an amusement park, and I can't get off the ride until it's over. I don't expect this to be an open world game, but I feel so locked in as I move through the environment. Kinda like a battlefield game, but…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was so super excited to play this after the first demo but after actually playing it, it leaves a lot to be desired. Lots of unanswered questions and I'm only missing two achievements. Most material in the released game is in the demo... please polish this game up. It had so much potential.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Graphics - 9.7/10 Story - 8.5/10 Controls - 10/10 Soundtrack - 7.8/10 Gameplay - walking-sim/10 Neat little game. Short. Nice warm environment in the woods. No horror elements but looks something like horror. Story of forgiveness.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a great game. I just purchased it last night, and played tonight and enjoyed it from strat to finish. No annoying bugs or glitches, no stress, just a nice walk through the forest with voiceovers. The sounds were so realistic I really thought I was in a forest. The visuals were relaly great too. The game was very short, I walked msot of it and ran a bit so took me 1h 20 to finish. The voice acting was great. What impressed me was the visuals of the forest and sounds. I thnik I read…
