unlabelledView post →MY RATING: ✔ ✔ ✔ ✔ ✔ ✔ ✔ ✘ ✘ ✘ 7 / 10 As the developer states on the store page, the game is a walking sim in the classic sense and the atmosphere is the main feature of the game.. That's basically exactly how I would sign it. The mood of winter is captured quite well here and you move relatively slowly through a beautiful snowy winter world. This game also consists of two parts or areas, with the first being much smaller than the second. And the second area in particular is quite…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Phile - when a person has a fondness for a specific thing and chiono as in referrring to the Latin word for snow (from the Greek khion). Following our journey in the rain in Pluviophile, Tonguc Bodur returns with a "sequel". Again, precipitation it is just in the form of ice crystals. Relaxing music, snow, poetry, snow, our good-old wolf from previous Bodur games and even more snow!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Chinophile is a decent winter themed walking simulator with a relaxing soundtrack, good sound effects and nice-looking landscapes. The game has two different chapters with slightly different looking environments in each. Hidden poetry and flower locations will add to the exploration of the game. The game is very short (30mins to 1hr) but the pricing is just right [7/10] https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2267685392…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice little walking simulator Gameplay-wise it doesn't stand out from other walking simulators, I like the fact you can get hints by pressing tab/RMB. Graphics are okay, nothing special, though you can take cool screenshots while you're on the go. There are barely any regions of the map you can explore, the environment is very similar everywhere you go with a few exceptions. Music sets the right mood. There is no voice narration or story to begin with, instead you get to look at various quotes…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Better than other titles from Tonguç Bodur. The game is less than an hour long and there are 2 areas to explore. Fortunately, there is a great soundtrack that will accompany you on this short journey. This game will not affect your Steam stats for completed games. My rating is 6/10.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Chionophile is a short (two chapters, approximately 30 minutes), but very nice, philosophical, relaxing and calm winter wonderland, first person walking simulator with decent graphics and peaceful music. An optional hint system prevents you to get lost in the roomy landscape. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2270422248 Gameplay wise, there are no puzzles, just easy tasks to perform, this leads to get all 6 achievements. Lyric epitome, japanese proverb: "One kind word…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Four months had passed since Tonguç Bodur’s latest Steam release, [url=https://store.steampowered.com/app/1322170/Pluviophile/]Pluviophile and just as the world changed seasons since, the game’s scenery also progressed from late summer / early autumn to winter. Chionophile is the direct sequel of Pluviophile, depicting a wintery environment this time, similar in beauty and structure with the one created in Pluviophile. The forest trees have shed their leaves, the fine drops of drizzle turned…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very slow and boring walking sim. Sure the graphics are ok because it's CryEngine, music is nice and relaxing. However there is not much story going on and you gonna loose your precious time wandering around in search for new paths to open after activating pedestals.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Chionophile ▬ This is another walking simulator with a relaxing soundtrack, good sound effects and beautiful landscapes. One-type and simple tasks for obtaining achievements. Another walker that does not stand out from the others. But she justifies its price. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2271025068

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →[url=https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asset_flip]Warning: Asset Flip! Chionophile is an asset flip, or what Valve calls a "Fake Game". The "developer" paid for/pirated someone else's Unreal environment asset, changed the name/reskinned a couple of things, and submitted it to Valve as if it was their own game. Another lazy asset flip from this guy. All he does is take existing Unreal Marketplace asset packs/3D environments, rearranges them a little (sometimes), and slaps on some basic walking…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Beautiful game, the kind of game that you can pop in and out of to just walk around, take in the beautiful winter scenery and listen to the soothing music as you walk along. Hidden quotes and sites to discovery too! The kind of game you jump into after a stressful day. ❄️
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you feel like walking in the snow while sipping your favourite morning coffee, this walking simulator is for you! I found the journey quite short, simple but enjoyable. I was a bit disappointed that the achievements gained from this game doesn't compile in your global Steam achievements. ---{ Graphics }--- ☐ You forget what reality is ☑ Beautiful ☐ Good ☐ Decent ☐ Bad ☐ Don‘t look too long at it ☐ MS-DOS ---{ Gameplay }--- ☐ Very good ☐ Good ☐ It's just gameplay ☐ Mehh ☐ Watch paint dry…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It´s okay. Easy 100% but the open area of the second chapter is way too big for the few tasks :3
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →🎼[url=https://youtu.be/KTmatjyd4KM]My second nature🎵 Is it still me or have I turned into a wolf? Ooooooorrrrr 🐺 🐾
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've played this developer's earlier games, so I knew what to expect. This was a nice little walk, I especially liked the realistic sounds of walking in snow, but the second Chapter got to my nerves. I prefer the more linear style of the earlier games. This had me wandering aimlessly, not knowing where to go until I just showed the markers on the screen, which really takes away the whole point of a game like this. Still, the price is not bad, so I'd say this is between "Yes" and "Meh".
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I hate winter but this walking simulator is just fine.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just like it's Pluviophile (lover of rain), Chionophile (lover of snow) takes us in a magic world of snow where we explore a seemingly endless region of mountains, woods, cliffs populated with cabins, foxes, wolves and squirrels! PROS: - Real-life feel; - Snowy mountains; - Calm music; - Wonderful poems; - Obtainable achievements; - Good thing for the map of elements, otherwise I would have been confused! CONS: - None at the moment. A simulation for those that want to take a walk in the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful walking sim. Enjoyed an hour-long meditative walk through a snowy forest. Well done, Mr. Bodur.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well, I wasn't as impressed as others with this title. I mean it's okay for .99 cents. Some nice-looking nature scenes that are nice to screenshot. However, the gameplay is super basic, even for a walking simulator. You literally walk from point A to Point B and keep doing it until the end of the game. Whole thing takes 40-60 minutes, just depending on your play style. There's no story, just some poems. The music is nice. This was made with pre-made assets. So there really isn't much here as…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A short and cozy walking sim with beautiful environments. The snowy woods and gentle music come together to create such a calming atmosphere :) It’s simple, but really lovely and I definitely recommend checking it out!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolutely gorgeous -- probably one of the best-looking games from this dev -- but entirely too short. When I finished the second chapter and realized that it was the end, I'd thought that I was just starting to really get into the game. I was expecting something more along the scale of Dizzlepath: Genie. So I enjoyed my time with the game, but it certainly wasn't long. Now, it's only a dollar, so that may still be a fair price for entry. Finishing in just 40 minutes (and taking my time…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gotta say nope to this one because it made me feel super motion sick. Maybe all the white and snow with the sun reflecting off of it? It's pretty and the music is nice, but not worth the migraine.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I start with a strictly personale statement: the snow made Chinophile my favourite of the authors' poetic short games. It's also a way more intense experience under musical side. I've found choirs and piano better fitting with the snowy landscape. Landscape, entwined by snowflakes and boughs, is richer and enhancing feelings by the placement of some isolated buildings, almost ruins, surrounded by the white. Under gameplay aspect here we have the ability to enable icons, preventing players from…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a very short walk through the snow with an original soundtrack and a beautiful landscape. Tonguc Bodur is known for his stunning walking simulators and this is the second game that combines poetry with a weather component (Pluviophile being the first with a focus on rain). The woods are wintery and your feet crunch through the snow or crackle on the ice. You find six flowers that activate stanzas of a poem in order to get the full set of achievements. Other than this, it is pure…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As usual, Tonguç Bodur give us a wonderful philosophic walk, with amazing detailed surroundings, beautiful music and sounds. I personally like increased speed, so we can feel ourselves running through the woods animal, not human out of breath. Also, the option to hide/reveal destinations is very useful and makes this experience perfectly balanced.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Snowy mountains
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A preview of what AI generated games will be. Totally pointless and nothing made sense. Just put together some assets and put some quotes.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Some pretty-looking wintry Unreal Engine environments to walk through, which is fine for the more linear first chapter. the slightly more open-ended second chapter forces you to do way too much trudging back and forth around a map that's just large enough for that to quickly become annoying. At least it was cheap.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good as always. The music, the visuals, the poems, the heartwarming ending. The whole game leaves an incredible impression as you are wandering through snowy valleys and mountains and are being in a harmony with nature, with animals. So touching.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Calm and pretty walking simulator where you walk around a snowy scene. I loved how the snow crunched under my legs. Only thing that kinda was a let down for me was the foxes and the way they were animated, like if you decide to add animals, at least make them move accurately lol
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After the rave (?) review I gave Pluviophile for being a simple, pure walking simulator with decent ambiance, I had high hopes for Chionophile, the frosty version. In this game, you walk around (I named the protagonist Georgino) and find crocuses, put them on pedestals, and then read some poetry. This gameplay cycle loops until you just wander out of the map. I don't know where to start with this game, other than to contrast it to Pluviophile. It has snow instead of rain. It has quatrains…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well, its not exactly a masterpiece but the price is reasonable. I wish the graphics were better and the environment wasn't so boring for half of the game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Chionophile is a short walking simulator. Very easy to get 100% achievements and relaxing while you do it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After "Dear Ester" I wanted to get more into 'artsy' games. Budur's "Bottle" was the first of his games that I played - I didn't like it too much to be honest. "Chionophile" has a promissing beginning. In fact, when playing the first chapter I was set on writing a positive review. The game is linear in the beginning and leads you along a straight pth from which you cannot stray too much. The quotes are set at points where they cannot be missed and the music is amazing. Chapter 2 beginns with…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Chionophile, a charming and short 40+ minute walking sim accompanied with a poem by Archibald Lampman, an 1880’s Canadian poet and lovely instrumental music by Pınar Karabaş. Explore a beautiful winter day in two chapters, find glowing Crocus flowers and place them on their pedestals to reveal the next part of the poem and unblock the next area. The first part of the game is very linear, but the second is a very big open area. Certain flowers go to certain pedestals which unblocks an area…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A lovely Frozen Paradise by walking Simulator expert developer Tonguç Bodur. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SnEeRHXewHo&feature=youtu.be
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As usual, beautiful landscape and beautiful music combined to an emotional experience. Different this time: A little game to match flowers with the correct pedestals to enable access to previously locked world areas, in the correct order. To achieve this result quickly, you should take the hint of the second chapter serious and follow the simple maze of paths in the snow closely — which appears to be contrary to the usual expectations of such narrative games: Looking around, finding pretty…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"I wander through the frozen trees, The snow drifts high, the biting breeze. Faint flickers dance, a city's glow— Or is it just the moonlit snow? My breath escapes in fleeting sighs, The path ahead, a blur of white lies. I chase the lights, but they don’t stay, They fade like dreams that slip away. Footsteps sink, the world stands still, The forest wraps me in its chill. A city waits, or so I trust, Yet in my heart, I know I'm lost."
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you don't like walking sims, avoid this at all cost. But even if you like walking sims, I struggle to recommend this. The environments look pretty at first until you realize that the entire game uses the same set of assets and with little rime or reason to their placement, suggesting autogenerated terrain, and it gets dull very fast. Making natural outdoor scenes look good is hard, and while the screenshots suggest success, in game it's underwhelming. Worse, however, is their attempt to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tonguç Bodur does it again. A sequel/spin-off to Pluviophile gives us another walking simulator with no plot. I've seen reviews ask for a plot, but again, fail to see the reason for this. There is no plot! It's about the feeling and the mood, not the story! This game truly tells you to give it up, burn the story to the ground, destroy every branching path, because this game is not a game. It's an experience.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This review is specially made for those who like to get all the achievements in games. Minor spoilers ahead. Description: Chionophile is a very short walking simulator set in a snowy forest. The only gameplay elements are light objects you need to pick and deliver to a location to trigger a sort of cutscene. Clicking the RMB shows the icons with their locations. The world’s graphics are impressive and look very good, especially more distant elements, the horizon and the sky. Up close the…

The game is built around a poem called "Snow" written by Archibald Lampman, as we progress a new verse unfolds before our eyes. Through the map, there are also some famous quotes mainly about winter. The game is divided into 2 chapters, the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a exploration walking simulator about a winter in the woods. This game has a few poems you need to find until you find the end of the story. There is no puzzles or real gameplay. It is more poetic, atmospheric and spiritual, than story driven. Visually the art style and all the details put into the game are just stunning. I enjoyed every bit of scenery and also enjoyed the animals running around. The classical music playing through the game is really relaxing and definitely sets the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After playing Pluviophile it's nice to go through a similar game. The creators improved some features of the game play, which makes it nicer to play than Pluviophile, but I liked the ambient sounds in Pluviophile better. They missed an opportunity to add the eerie, but beautiful sound that ice makes in frozen lakes. I'm also sad to see that you leave no marks in the snow. I did like this game as it's mostly walking with very few game mechanics. I just want a relaxing experience walking around,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice short little game, fits to a glass of wine on a winter day :-)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Chionophile A pretty winter theme walking simulator, with good phrases throughout the game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An ok game for 30-40 minutes. The graphics aren't exaclty great about this game. Your walking through snow and winter trees. Its basically a collectathin or fetch game walking sim. Find the ross flower and bring it back to the pedestal to read the poem, wash rinse and repeat. You can use right click to reveal the locations of the flower and the pedestals which is a nice touch but keep in mind you can't take the flower to any pedestal it has to be the right one, which I discocvered during my…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Like Pluviophile it isn't long, but it is again, lovely. It's relaxing, and beautiful, and such a perfect way to relax. You'll certainly get your money's worth given how cheap it is. I suspect I'll be coming back to it again in the future when I need a place to feel safe.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →+ "Pluviophile" in winter + gorgeous environment and landscape + piano background adds to ambiance - no plot - obnoxious footstep sfx, can't be disabled * buy cheap, read the poem, walk
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is what every one said. It is a walking simulator. I guess if you like that sort of thing you might like it. But I found it boring. I finished the whole thing before my dinner was done cooking.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Eexceedingly short but beautifully sweet, Chionophile is exact as advertised. A short experience about winter. You walk through wintery woods and snowy cliffs, finding flowers that when placed upon plinths of stone give a fraction of a poem. All you have to do is walk around, enjoy the views, and get shown poetry. It's a salming and relaxing experience, for a very low price. I honestly might make it part of my routine to play this at the first of December every year. It just has the perfect…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just nice walk in the winter woods. The game is really about the atmosphere of the place and the winter is quite specific for its light, snowdrifts, ice and generally the mood of that days.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Traveling through an ice-cold mountainous winterlandscape in games is often a great experience. Most of the time though, there's something trying to kill you. So, if you are not in the mood of getting killed, get 'Chionophile'.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →[url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/9686972/]Follow "First Person Exploration and Puzzle Games" for more games like this! This developer is known for making beautiful but low effort walking simulators about walking through the forest. This is yet another one. This is basically the exact same game as Pluviophile, his previous game. You walk around a forest while classical music plays, looking for glowing flowers. When you find one, you put it on a pedestal and a poem appears.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Chionophile is an exploration game, where you walk around in the snow, looking for pink flowers, meanwhile appraciate the snow, the mountains and the enviroment around you. This game is simple as it's price tag. You just go walk around and explore this beautiful world, meanwhile you collecting flowers, to finish the game. The game looks really good, Unreal Engine 4 really do wonders with the game, controls are simple, music and sound effect are beautiful. There is no story in the game, but it…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a mellow walking simulator, filled with gorgeous (though low resolution compared to his earlier games.....a trend lately for this dev......I assume it has to do with making the levels work on even average computers) scenery, middling to embarrassingly amateurish bursts of snow related poetry, and some fairly simple fetch quests to access the poetry/achievements, and advance the game. It doesn't break any new ground for this dev, but it is a return to form in many ways, and isn't bogged…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A typical Tonguç Bodur beautiful and calming game. It's brief, it's short, but it's in the classic Drizzlepath style. Mr. Bodur I am a huge fan of your games, own *nearly all of them, some yet to play tho. But I wish you never stop making these amazing gems of games as well as that I hope they get picked up by more people as your games absolutely deserve more attention! With the only Turkish word I know: Aférin / Good Job!
