First of all, I would like to point out that I was one of the developers (and creative director) of the fan game called ‘Stargate Network’ that received a cease and desist order from MGM right after the Timekeepers announcement in May/June 2021. Although I am truly saddened that we have been forced to shut down Stargate Network after 14 years to clearly avoid any possible competition with this official game, rest assured that this is not the reason why I am giving a bad review. I also specify…

I really wanted to like this game. And despite the game being pretty awful in the beginning I still tried to give it a fair shot. I took a break. Took a deep breath....and then came back to it with a clear head. But I don't like this game. It's a STEALTH GAME. Don't come into this expecting it to be a tactical game or a strategy game like you'd expect. (Yes it does have some inkling of strategy and tactics) But the whole point of this game is stealth. You are severely punished for trying to…

Shal'kek nem'ron I'm not much for the stealth games but Stargate is my bread and butter and while I'm sure this game is great if you like stealth games like this but I feel like it missed the mark. I have to ask, why did you sideline the Zat'nik'tel? That thing is usually on most SG teams, especially during stealth ops. From what I could tell reading the manual only one character uses it. Why? Instead I'm walking up behind people and hitting them in the back of the head so I can tie them up…

This is a stealth game with the dumbest stealth mechanics I have ever seen. During the tutorial, you have to sneak over to a gun for one of your soldiers. So you stealth over, get past a guard, and then see two Jaffa discussing it. They are just chilling talking about guns vs staves, and one of them is saying that even our "simple" weapons can be effective. Side note, I love this bit of world building. The Jaffa are having interesting conversations in the background! That's pretty awesome! But…

Many reviews have said that this should not have been a tactical stealth game because that doesn't fit the Stargate setting, and I for one completely agree! How dare they do this? Didn't they watch the finale of season one, "Within the Serpents Grasp" in which SG-1 stops Apophis by boarding his flagship and clearing every single room with fire from their belt fed M60's, leading to a standoff between O'Neill and Apophis, which the colonel wins by making a "Duke Nukem" reference and blowing him…

Alright, so, this would be a 'Maybe' review if steam let you. I want to like this. Infact i mostly *do* like it. However. There are a couple of problems i would like to lay out, and one big thing that really almost turned this from a yes to a no review. So, bear in mind, the game has a Quicksave and Quickload bound by default. This is for a reason. Timekeepers can be quite trial and error, and it is *always* reminding you how long its been since you quicksaved, with good reason. The game…

Whomever decided on the controls system on this game sure as hell wanted to make sure this game fails. As none of the controls work, they're all set on stupid keys like spacebar is crouch/stand while pause is T. It's janky and badly thought out, it really feels like it's out to ruin the whole Stargate franchise. After 32 minutes playtime I could no longer suffer through it, how many times do I have to tell them to pickup an item, or tie the guy up. How many times do I have to tell them to sync…

I can recommend this game but only to a very specific group of players. First you obviously have to love Stargate (but that is why you are reading this right?). Then you must be into Real Time Tactics games like Commandos, Desperados, Shadow Tactics and let's be honest that is a niche genre. You should also be fine with the fact that it is less polished than the mentioned games. And you should be ok with the fact that they included timed missions/sections. Achievements should also not mean much…

I am a huge Stargate fan and was incredibly excited for this game. I really really really wanted to like it, but unfortunately I really can't recommend it. It is a stealth game that is begging to be turn based so badly, but isn't. It is not a strategy game, there is no base, no upgrades, no customization and no role playing. You are punished for playing the game any way other than in a stealth mode and are forced to sneak up behind the majority of enemies to knock them out and tie them up.…

For everyone not seeing this on the first glance. This is commandos clone so yea obviously no base, no upgrades etc. just trial and error to get through to mission objectives. After finishing the first mission and getting half way throught the second one I can say one thing, this is very rough around the edges or some may say poor man's commandos clone. I really wanted to love this game but frankly I can't. It's too slow, it's very much focused on hide and slowly sneak around and the Stargate itself is really not used in level. I kinda wish this was more open world like Stargate Worlds was going to be and you can traverse the stargate and complete missions. It doesn't make sense in the fact that there is rarely more than 2 people in a team in a mission (whereas in Stargate it was always 3-4+) I paid for it so I will eventually finish it but I…

As a long time Stargate and strategy game fan, I really wanted to like this game. Unfortunately, I didn't. The game feels rushed in many respects. Up to a point that the basic game mechanics do not work well, yet. I say yet, because I feel that the game could actually be pretty good if the developers would rework the underlying mechanics a little. It plays like a proof of concept or early test, as many of the flaws can be traced back to a lack of feedback from actual players. Stargate…

Plays like Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun. If you liked that game you'll probably like this game. If you like XCOM and not tactical stealth go check out Jagged Alliance 3. The Main menu and chapter select is pretty bare bones but the gameplay in-mission is good. They tutorialize how to use each of the characters' tools via interactable points on the ground so you can read it when you want to or skip them entirely. It's up to you to remember to use what's available and if you've reloaded…

Upsides: - only stargate game we’re going to get - stealth tactics genre fits the show far more than action or walking simulator. - generally fits the aesthetic of the show (see downsides below) - as a slitherine published game post launch support is more likely even if sales are not amazing. Cons - Really should have been released as an early access title, as it’s half finished as of this review - Lack of side missions really undermines one of the most basic themes of the show: using the…

This game could have been so much better you could have created Stargate system to explore created new system or just added some from the show. the SGC would have been a mini base building armor, weapons tech, rooms that could make you command center bigger and better. you have everything you need from the show enemy difficulty. but that is not what you get. i would not recommend this game if you are a fan of Stargate SG-1

I love the franchise, but this isn't it. The game is simple, repetitive and could be improved a lot. I finished it in 9 hours, there are seven missions, including the tutorial mission, however, they were still introducing new mechanics through about six of them. So it always felt like you were in a tutorial. The game has potential, but is not a real time tactics game at all, it's more a puzzle game. They have set a map with challenges and you need to figure out how to overcome those…

TL:DR - If you want a difficult stealth game, this is a good buy. If you want a Stargate game, don't bother. --- This is a stealth game with very, very little room for error. Enemy visual cones fill up quickly when they spot you and take a while to empty if you can get out of sight in time. They are also very quick to call for backup the moment they register you as a target. There is also no autosave, which makes sense because you need to save almost every couple of minutes, and after you…

Not worth the $39 Canadian price tag. Don't waste your money on it unless you're a die-hard Stargate fan. At this point, if I'm only going to play it for the story, the gameplay is really 0. The controls aren't fluid, there's a huge delay before you can pull them out (I almost get the impression that the devs have no idea how a P90 work or any firearm in general). Otherwise, enemy reactions are terrible: for example, you can shoot right next to them without them even noticing. A big 0 for…

Stargate Timekeepers is a stealth/tactics game within the Stargate SG-1 universe, following a parallel story after the end of season 7. One can see from the get-go that it's not a high-quality, big budget production: writing, voice acting, animations are all a bit lacking, and the game is not the blockbuster Stargate fans may have wanted. At the same time I thoroughly enjoyed playing it: the gameplay is polished and fun, the story was engaging, and, most importantly for me, it was…

Simple stealth game, I wasn't hooked by the game mechanics so it was unplayable for me. Edit after reading other reviews: I have played Desperados and Desperados 2 back then and also shadow warrior shogun, these games are far better stealth games and make indeed fun, I also got hooked on the mechanics, this game is no match to compare with a Desperados.

I'm a fan of both Stargate and stealth tactics games but after four missions, neither aspect is working for me. I've yet to see anything go through a stargate, the staff weapon is only usable in melee, and the team's scientist is a moron. It could have been such a nice game... You're constantly reminded of how long it's been since you last saved the game and that's for a reason: almost every action you take fails the first time and you'll need that save. The Tactical mode is iffy, because you can barely stack actions. The controls are bad, because you constantly need modifiers like shift and when attacking an enemy while crouching, you can't stand up until after the attack, or by cancelling the attack, standing up and attacking…
