SpellForce 3: Soul Harvest is a 2019 stand-alone expansion pack for SpellForce 3 developed by Grimlore Games and published by THQ Nordic. It was released for Microsoft Windows on 28 May 2019. Game updated character diversity by including gay background to few main characters who were from original game lore, they also turned dark elf workers, who originally used slaves as workers into dark elf workers to reflect the world we live in today,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →SpellForce 3: Soul Harvest is a thrilling blend of real-time strategy and role-playing game developed by Grimlore Games. The game is set in a fantasy world where players take on the role of a powerful mage, tasked with leading their armies and defending their kingdom from a mysterious enemy known as the "Harvest". One of the strengths of SpellForce 3: Soul Harvest is its deep and engaging gameplay that allows players to manage their armies and resources, while also leveling up their character…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"Welcome! Thank you for playing SpellForce 3 ! For the best experience, please sign into your THQ Nordic Online account, or create a new one for free if you aren't registered yet." This is a thing you will see when starting up the game. If you hit play offline it will try to guilt trip you to make an account for fear of losing out on some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ level or whatever. You will see this in the other SpellForce 3 games: Fallen God and Reforced. How about no! I am done with this series. The first…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Extremely good expansion pack The first expansion for Spellforce 3. The story takes place after the events of the main game, but you play a different main character. Just like the base game of Spellforce 3, this is a RTS & RPG hybrid. As I've said for the base game as well, this is like a literal better and more complete version of Warcraft III. It's everything that Warcraft III Reforged should have been, but wasn't. It's also extremely lengthy for an expansion. Depending on how you play, it…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The gameplay and combat is some of the best in the series, but the story and narrative direction is the worst I've seen in a long, long time. In short, they completely shat on the story established in the Spellforce 3 core game - Killing off (REDACTED) at the start, and making several core characters suddenly turn evil....- Wtf were they even thinking
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Main game is way better. Sould Harvest story is dull, dialogues feel lame and forced. RTS part is still unbalanced mess. RPG part is good, but is way better in main game. Overall I would say, it is enough to play the main game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Brilliant gaming experience, highly recommended especially if you are into a particular niche of gaming... good story telling, deep dialogues, tough but fun gameplay and refreshing combination of two genera of gaming that I personally love - RTS and RPG. I usually do not write reviews, but this is a hidden gem which needs elaboration - for a game it is surprisingly philosophical - touching on subjects like Minority complex in mixed societies, pacifism, the importance of suffering, self…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A continuation of the fantastic aesthetics and new factions that were mostly fun to play, however the story was much worse when compared to the base game. *spoiler* i guess Tahar dies immediately off screen, which is a pretty big blow to the investment in the story, especially when he's replaced by some random nobody. I enjoyed my time overall but i honestly wouldn't recommend it for the $36 AUD, get it on sale but don't expect the same quality of story
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played all 3 campaigns game is very good good story, base building not for every1 but i thorougly enjoyed it Big recommend to any1 wanting to play a good mix of RTS and adventure. Played soul harvest and fallen god in coop with my brother and was a very enjoyable experience. 1st campaign i m not sure if you can play in coop cause i played it myself before i got to play with bro. In these days of devs developing utter garbage this game is imo 10/10.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fantastic game, interesting mix of RTS and RPG mechanics. I wish there was more games like this.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After losing 7 hours of saves and autosaves after a crash, with the error "Not installed", I'm a) not tempted to start fresh to see if it happens again and b) can't recommend the game with a bug like this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game would be fine if it was just controlling your heroes, but the RTS sections are mandatory and the AI for your units is absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ abysmal. Catapults will decide to spin in circles on a spot rather than get into an open position to fire, you will right click to move, half your army will take a sane path the other half will decide to path through enemy territory (or worse - the mission we quit the game on has poison on the map, your army will also randomly decide to path through…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mature storyline. Makes you feel the feels.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great successor to the RPG-RTS series. Great story, beautiful graphics, voiceplay is AMAZING. Definitely recommend. One thing I'd like to have - controllable pause in single player.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just read some negative reviews about how the game disregards Spellforce lore ... and I have no idea. I don't really care that Isgrimm is gay. That was clear in SF3 as well. I don't really care that DE workers aren't slaves in this game. I'm just not deep enough into Spellforce lore to even care, although I do notice this diversity and political correctness trend, of course, and it's irritating me. Now, with that out of the way, Soul Harvest is imho definitely a lot better than the main game…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →SpellForce 3: Soul Harvest is the kind of expansion that feels large enough to stand beside the original game as its own complete experience. Instead of merely adding extra missions or small gameplay additions, it reworks and strengthens the entire hybrid formula that made SpellForce unique in the first place. By combining role-playing progression with large-scale real-time strategy warfare, Soul Harvest delivers a fantasy adventure that constantly shifts between intimate storytelling and epic…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The two new factions were interesting with unique gimmicks that don't make them feel like a coat of paint, meanwhile the story is more linear but you get side contracts to clear. The reworked skill trees feel more contained and I really like the signature skill depending on which dual type you chose. Fantastic game, interesting mix of RTS and RPG mechanics. I wish there was more games like this. he story picks up very slowly, then gets really good in the middle, especially since you don't…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Maybe i'm just too old of an RTS player, everything is too counter-intuitive and I didn't really enjoy any of the systems; against the ai is just a constant cat vs mouse with the hero's and "settlements"; felt bored and annoyed the entire time. Not for me.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →At the moment I have to give this a negative review because there is a gamebreaking bug in the first Windholm Outskirts village. The game ALWAYS crashes when I build the tunnel system as per the mission objectives.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game was fine till i found out that isgrimm was sacrificed under the alter of inclusive diversity and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ writing/story telling to please ESG/DE-I and the "modern audience". Base game you can ignore this. But DLC pushes it basically in-your-face making the story bad and basically gringe. Nobody was asking this again but here it is again.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game good, but few maps, editor not work, and is gay.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Seriously kudos to the team. After the base gaming being so good I immediately jumped into Soul Harvest. After a couple hours I gave up because the intro was just a bit slow. I thought it was a money grab. Wow was I wrong. This story is just as good as the base game and I got to relive this game all over again through a new story. I freaking love this genre.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Soul Harvest is, in many ways, a strong continuation of SpellForce 3. It preserves the core spirit of the series with its excellent blend of CRPG-style storytelling and real-time strategy. The addition of new races like the dwarves and dark elves brings fresh gameplay mechanics and variety, and tactically, it’s arguably one of the most refined entries in the series. That said, the removal of the logistics system — one of SF3's more innovative mechanics — strips away a lot of strategic depth…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Summary: Everything that is good about the Soul Harvest is what it took from the base game. The new things it brought were mostly making it worse (or stupid), which is pretty bad for an expansion. To elaborate: This expansion kind of broke it for me. The base game, I would recommend, even though that it breaks the lore in numerous places, but its inaccuracies pale in comparison to s**tstorm of randomness end bull**** the Soul Harvest presents. Lore aside, the game got more boring overall.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The second one of the games. It's more of what you got in the base game while being different. The two new factions were interesting with unique gimmicks that don't make them feel like a coat of paint, meanwhile the story is more linear but you get side contracts to clear. The reworked skill trees feel more contained and I really like the signature skill depending on which dual type you chose. There were a lot more puzzles. Too many quest items stayed in the inventory after usage unlike the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In your very first campaign, the enemy camp will spawn infinite horsemen like ~40 of them every 5 minutes. You have to explore the map to progress the campaign and unlock blueprints to make viable units, but these horsemen are constantly razing your camp so you can't even take your eyes off your camp to go explore. The balance of the game and the gameplay flow is garbage, or unfun. Basically, I survived on the first campaign for 1 hr making little progress bottlenecking the horsemen mob on…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Completed: 11\15\2024 +Story +Dialogue options +Some beautiful textures +/- A little more room for base building. Not much though. +/- Most voice cast is great. Others are good and then have really bad moments. Almost like AI was used for the voices. -200 unit cap. Morons. -Boring locations -These as.sclown devs did Tahar dirty -AI still cheats like crazy even on easy -End boss fights
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Excellent DLC, maybe better than basic game ++++
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Like in every Spellforce the gameplay is great, the story is great, the voice acting is good . Like in every Spellforce the dialogue feels written by a high-schooler. And like in every spellforce, the combination of RPG and RTS still is Unique and Fresh. And trust me that something being unique and fresh in this industry is a BIG FKN DEAL !
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Incredible writing, characters and the world feel alive. Voice acting is stellar and one wonders why this game is not more popular. Underrated game, that still looks great today, well crafted and the story that drives the game is just so well done. The blend of RPG and RTS is just splendid and the transition always feels very natural. Gorgeous sound track to boot. Any RPG players who loves story and character driven games should most definitely play this game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Might be okay if you just want to play it for the story. There is a ton of dialogue and they are all voice acted, but pretty much every singe dialogue option you select has no impact at all on the game. The skill trees are interesting and there are lots of combinations to experiment with. The real-time mechanic didn't add much to the game. More focus on looking at health bars and ability cooldowns, less focus on watching your heroes fight. Micromanagement of heroes wasn't important since they…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →wanted to play co op, it needs you to make an online account for some reason and the only fixes posted by the company 2 years ago are someone in development telling you to add them on steam lol
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i like Spellforce but i dislike the start from soul harvest. they killing offscreen tahar a interesting character (and basically extinct his/her unique race) for me connecting to the characters i create and play with, is this a big slap in the face. based on this i never really warmed up with spellforce
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hey i played this game 13 Hours, And honestly it was long time ago i played and i have already forgotten what its about so its not really something you'll long to get back to. i know i finished the game and moved on to next
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well, honestly it's pretty short. Although the story and gameplay is okay, you don't get much.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →(+) still good writing (although they started stating the obvious/repeating stuff here and there) (+) voice acting remains excellent (+) the story felt a bit weaker/less crisp than in the base game but covers a more interesting theme imo (the base game takes on outcasts & refugees. soul harvest goes into 2nd chances/recompense/personal guilt) (+) one of the best final resolutions/boss fights in quite awhile, thou tastes may differ ofc (reminded me of the pathfinder kingmaker finale which I…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →insane game, better than base game, which is already pretty insane
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Twas just as fun as the main story, but Hero skills are more streamlined and THAT IS A GOOD THING!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Constant stutters
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoyed this game's campaign for it's party based rpg gameplay, but I dreaded/quickly grew annoyed by it's campaign rts loop. What is here is a nice and decently long rpg rts hybrid that continues on with some characters from the spellforce 3 campaign, and I really enjoyed some of the characters again, but some of the new party members were a bit generic. You also have access to mercenaries which you can create, but since they lack the characterization of the established npc playable…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a worthy addition on sale if you're a Spellforce fan as it's an entire game into itself. It didn't wow me with the story or quality of characters, but it was enough to compel me to see it finished.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you liked Spellforce 3 Reforged then this is a nice DLC introducing two new races (Dwarves and Dark Elves) also introducing air based combat. I would say pick it up on sale and enjoy

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My main review is under SpellForce 3 Versus. The odd thing is you have to individually download these expansions. And Steam sees them as their own game. This is a first for me. As for a review...the summary is: it's not for me, but I don't think it's a bad game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The story is dumb. The new races are great.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Super game for coop, highly recommended. Most of the new mechanics really worked well. I like the ability to create mercenaries. The two new nations look great. The gameplay is much simpler than other SF3 installments. Just build 1/2 heroes with the skil to destroy kow sheds and you speedrun RTS scenarios - the main base falls on two use of the skil - along with the skill to shorten cooldowns and regenerate "mana" from eq - it is literally a moment. As for the storyline, in my opinion, it fared…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly don't even remember what this was about that how bad it was but since it was spellforce had to complete it. But how is it i can remember Spellforce 3 Reforge moments but i can't remember anything from Soul harvest? That Bad...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Essentially, this dlc removes your progress from the main game, replaces your main character, nerfs various skill trees and makes them less fun, and adds in customizable minions that don't have any real character. But hey, you get to mix and match the worse skill trees with them! Sarcasm aside, this dlc doesn't really add much of substance to the main game and I don't recommend it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Feels much more polished than original Spellforce 3. They added 2 new races that are real fun to play with, especially dark elves with plague beetles, basilisks and spiders. Also I feel there is a little bit more focus on the RTS side than the RPG one (which tend to be boring after playing it for too long) and that is a good thing. I enjoyed playing RTS a lot more.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →CONCLUSSION: Only get It at a very steep discount. Main Game: - Dialog-System is almost complettly useless, because es changes almost nothing - Gameplay and unit control is more converluded and cluttered than in the SF2 - RPG element are bare minium and the Charactermodels look all the same and pretty ugly - RTS-Element are a chore to get trough - Found only 2 of the 9 or 10 companion interesting. + Graphic of the maps and units is better than SF2 + Story of Main Character Tahar is good with…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A great RTS/RPG hybrid with a suprsingly good story and memorable characters. Dark elves and dwarfs were both great new races to play with and imo maps were better than spellforce 3.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love this. There's not... There isn't much more to say. It's everything I wanted from Divinity. It's everything I wanted from Skyrim. The combat is perfect, the story's incredible, The world's beautiful and the voice acting puts every other game to shame. It's a perfect level of engagement in fantasy roots while branching out into it's own story and world. It manages depth and meaning without being bleak, rewards exploration without making it mandatory, and hands you a world that…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Easily one of the most interesting and unique games I have ever played
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I hate what they did to the Dark Elves in Soul Harvest. At least, they are not called Norcaine anymore... If only they said at the end of the game that all this happens in an alternate universe and I would give it a positive review... but as it is, this is a awful Spellforce game although one can say that it's a good game on its own.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Spellforce 3 Soul Harvest is really good game. I personally recommend playing the main game of Spellforce 3 first, but in theory it is a standalone title. Like all Spellforce titles the game is a mix of RTS and RPG elements. There are missions which play entirely as an RPG with your party of 4 heroes and there are missions on bigger maps which at some point (after an introduction and doing some scouting with your heroes) blend over to an RTS game with building up an army, HQ and outposts. I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing Game! What an excellent sequel! I'll keep the campaign review for the last to avoid spoiling anyone. The gameplay is an improvement, definitely liked the two skill trees on heroes more than three, the new factions are amazing, they're strong and definitely fun. The OST is as always great, RTS and RPG mix is such a blast, Spellforce 3 and Soul Harvest definitely deliver both are amazing, still got Fallen God to play hopefully it's as good. Spoilers Ahead !!!! The campaign is a 10/10,…
