At a glance, everything about this game should mean I loved it. It was classic Spellforce. Except, it wasn't. Firstly, unlike the other incarnations of Spellforce, I could not create a female character, and there doesn't appear to be a reason for this (no male only references in the storyline etc). Secondly: It was short. So very, very short. I…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is actually not worth it's price. It has what made the Spellforce franchise great, but it's short and i'll risk to say that it has the worst story of all the Spellforce series, based on the cliche that you have to do everything "because it's your destiny". However, if you like Spellforce mechanics you can still find this game enjoyable, and if you like the single player free mode it will be worth it for you. Beware, however, that you won't be able to play with your friends if they…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have a deep dislike for shinny remasters ever since SpellForce 2's Anniversary Edition randomly added shinny bump mapping to everything in the game... including the character's faces :P
unlabelledView post →SpellForce 2 - Faith in Destiny is a sweet RTT/RTS-RPG game. Though I can't say I was fully satisfied by the whole of the experience but I really had fun playing it and its features nevertheless. Graphics For an expantion based on a 2007 game they are pretty cool. You get sweet nature designs, accurate animations, fire-lightning-smoke and other effects. Not too bad water material for lakes and seas. Legit logic of terain designing combined with natural effects colors and mood. The characters…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Clocking in at 11 Hours, fair to say I´ve explored all nooks and crannies, but I am fairly disappointed, sadly the developers haven´t managed to capture the original Spellforce feeling which was still present within Spellforce 2 Shadow Wars and Dragon Storm. There was one mini game as far as I can remember everything else was just hack and Slash, go to a map build a base own everything due to the fact that your avatar (and the Dragon) kill everything on their own, leveling was too easy the army…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is quite fun, though the campaign is very short; if they'd fleshed out the single player aspect I'd have no problem recommending this, as it is - the RTS/RPG cross is quite novel and I enjoyed this. It took me around 12 hours to finish the single player, and that wasn't hurrying. If you can get this for cheap, I'd give it a go. At full price I'd definately give it a miss.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →26 hours i spent edging my way through its 4 maps. ...... wait what? 4 maps? ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ was that it? THAT was the ending? THAT wasn't my game crashing back to the title menu? Oh my that was embarrasing. Apparently I should go back and play the other Spellforce games and this was the one I should of left well alone. I enjoyed the style of play here but oh wow that was the single worst ending to any video game I've ever played. Even worse than Godzilla on the NES .....even worse…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you liked the base SpellForce 2 game, you’ll like this one too (or to be more precise, SpellForce 2: Anniversary Edition, as it’s known these days). This is basically just more SpellForce 2. And if you’re not familiar with SpellForce in general, it’s a game similar to Warcraft 3 – a combination of RPG and RTS. Just keep in mind that this is rather old, so it can be clunky and annoying at times. Still a great game. This standalone expansion unfortunately seems to have been a bit of a cash…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really liked Spellforce and Spellforce 2, so when I started up Faith in Destiny I expected at the very least more of the same, if not an improvement on 2's single player campaign like what happened with Dragon Storm. Well...that's not what this is. Faith in Destiny feels like it was hastily cobbled together in a scenario editor with a month-long deadline for a finished product. The campaign has no voice acting and doesn't even bother with the illusion of choice like the previous campaigns…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I must admit I did enjoy Faith in Destiny. I played all previous Spellforce games and it was a very long time since I played the last one, so it was rather nice to play again. That said, Faith in Destiny is very poor. It's short (4 maps), there really isn't anything new and the story is the poorest ever seen in a Spellforce game. You still dont know anything more at the end than after reading the synopsis... One thing for sure, if you want to discover Spellforce, this absolutely souldn't be…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A bit of a let-down compared to other Spellforce entries. While this one is more difficult than Dragon Wars and the core game, the campaign is EXTREMELY short. This iteration also introduces scenarios; which are paid DLC maps for little snippets of story and gameplay. Fun... but probably should have been included in the core game. While I do recommend the game for those looking to continue through the Spellforce storyline... I would probably wait until it is on sale. This truly does feel…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A disappointment. The game is too short, the plot is missing a lot of information. Once things start to get interesting, the game is done. Mecanics are uncomfortable. There are ridiculous thing with the controls such as – right click tells the character where to move, long right click while moving the mouse will move the camera. Half the time, you're making a wrong move, because no one thought about the controls. Avoid if you can.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is by no means worth your money unless it's heavily reduced. This game has 4 maps, all of which are very empty in terms of actual content and full of busy work and useless collectibles. You cannot play as a female avatar, apparently they somehow could not fathom that fans would want that and could not add the female voices later. And before anyone says, the protagonist is never even referred to by any other way than "you" and could easily be a woman. The voice acting is also very subpar,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This poorly written slop is so short it should be part of the base game and not a stand alone title. Just a cash grab.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Quality wise, campaign is awful. Free game mode is bugged and broken. Network issues mean that port forwarding isn't enough, you need to be using some sort of virtual lan software. Spellforce 2 is a favourite game of mine and I highly recommend it. Just not this version. Get Spellforce 2 Gold instead.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Faith in Destiny did not restore my faith in SpellForce 2 games... Faith in Destiny is one of two standalone story expansions for SpellForce 2 and if you, like me, did not find SpellForce 2as good as the first game, FiD will not convince you otherwise. It is a direct continuation of story from SP2 and Dragon Storm with a few addition such as new demon race and the fact that you can ride a dragon, albeit in a very lackluster manner. While it is a nice try, these additions do not make it any…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not very good to play. This is a weak compination of rpg and rts. You even can't do most of the side quests because it wonät let you revisit areas after leaving them even thou you get needed items later in the game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'd declare... Average good. This is an RTS with RPG elements. The graphics are still decent. The music is OK. The story is generic fantasy stuff but not the bad kind. No bugs, but some crashes. Overall, an entertaining franchise. The mix of RTS with elements of RPG was a winning combination back in the day and still is. This DLC, the first for Spellforce 2, is kinda of a bridge story-wise and it's not such a brilliant tale, just adequate to keep your interest going. The game is long enough…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is a good dlc to Spellforce 2, not great but good. It isn't so short - it takes me 18 hours to finished it what was longer than many dlc's to new games. The storyline is not bad, characters are quite good - the real trouble with them are sometimes embarrasing dialogue lines which don't exacly suit same npc (Caine for example). Graphic remember time of Spellforce 2 which isn't great, music on the other hand is fine. Of course dlc is far away from greatness of Dragon Storm but that's…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I absolutely love the Spellforce series, and this game does have the classic Spellforce feel, however the storytelling leaves much to be desired, and the ending infuriated me. If you want a short introduction to Spellforce and aren't particular about the storyline, then it is a great game to play.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Does not live up to the reputation of previous installments, not by a long shot.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played through SpellForce 2: Faith in Destiny. Well—almost. To be precise, I dropped it halfway, which is really out of character for me. I mean, I even sat through Saint Agatha to the end—and believe me, not many people did! This is an add-on to the main game, so I’ll focus solely on what’s new or different here. Overall impression My overall impression of this game? “Well, this is ♥♥♥♥.” That’s the short and polite version. Pros? Well, optimized graphics and a new enemy faction. And…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Faith in Destiny is sadly one of the weakest Spellforce entries, featuring an irrelevant storyline, very few maps and overall lacking quality in the writing department. Even for Spellforce fans, this standalone addon can and should be entirely skipped.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →got this in 2016 and only just gave it a try. played the first one right away and it was a hot mess. forgot about it and my backlog built up. gameplay 7/10 story 5/10 meh bugs, not as bad as 1 but still
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →LAME I bought this game because I'm a huge Spellforce fan. I loved Shadow Wars and Dragon Storm and I was looking forward this one, even if I was aware it couldn't be as great as its predecessors. Even so, I've never been this disappointed by a game. It's all Spellforce, but it seems created by a kid with no ideas at all. This is not the first time I try to play it for saga's sake, but I can't force myself this far: - maps are ridiculously big and enemies are thrown in them with no logic at…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Spellforce 2: Faith of Destiny is the second expansion of the Spellforce 2 series. It can be played as a stand-alone, but the story might be confusing if you choose to do this. Spellforce is game serie that combines RPG and RTS in one powerful blend. Spellforce 2: Faith of Destiny takes place a few years after the Shapers have been conquered by the Archfire. This lead to a decrease of portals which means the different lands are cut off from contact with eachother. As if that didn't cause…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mediocre gameplay. It has an okay-ish RPG aspect which makes me want to play a good party RPG instead and it has a rather bad RTS aspect which makes me want to play a good RTS instead. I haven't played any other SpellForce game and this one is supposed to be the worst by far, so I guess I could like the other games - I kinda had fun with this one. Apparently you can beat it in only 11 hours, but I can't tell, because I ran into a game-breaking bug after 9 hours. So, if you want to try the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolutely not a bad game, it's only problem was the RTS-RPG mixing ratio, cause when I wanted more RPG I got RTS, and vica-versa. Worth a try.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is short that is a fact but it does have some action which make the game fun while playing it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Confusing mix of RPG+RTS. Idea looked promising but execution was just not there. Controls are abysmal.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A poor addition to an outdated game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →mostly a replay of previous games in the series with little interesting story development, too fast leveling, very little content in general (4 mid-size maps) and only 1 type of enemy. Other games in the series were much more challenging and interesting. Spellforce 1 series was fantastic, Spellforce 2 series less exciting, became ok with dragon storm, faith in destiny was very boring. I haven't played demons of the past yet but honestly don't have high hopes for it. Spellforce 3 series on the…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Started game, wait why cant i create a female character AT ALL NEGATIVE 10 POINTS. Ok start game as male still frustrated i couldnt create a female character cause ya i guess i always wanted to me male. NOT. Game play was OK but nothing to write home about. I have to say i was extremely disppointed. This is one of those games that COULD HAVE BEEN but NEVER MADE IT. They could easily revamp this and make it 100 times better. SO no as is i cannot recommend. HOWEVER, if on sale like say…

Already split from the group, sprinting toward a gang of raw yakuza looking murder orks 12lvls above him. Screaming 2Pac lyrics with his wooded broom in one hand and toilet seat as a sheild. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really like the Spellforce games, but this add-on is a bit of a rippoff. It is extremely short and not very challinging at all.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I 100% recommend this game for Spellforce fans. The nostalgia will be satisfied. For non-Spellforce fans, I recommend it only if you're curious and are okay with a few hours of simple role-playing (the first hours in the game) that will grow more and more as you go and end with a blast. Spellforce 2 is a blend of RPG and RTS. The old game played for over 50 hours, this one plays for 15-20 depending on your pace. You start with a level 1 Shaikan character and you get to choose, along the way,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →too short of a game like 5 maps tops
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's short but fun to play.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No! Keep away. The game mechanic itself isnt bad, but spellforce 2 is lame, from voice acting to a stupid "trust in yourself tale" haha. Ok, isnt THAT bad, i have seen worse, but the game is so...mediocre, that you get bored to play. Usually bad games with good tales hold you(even if you are suffering playing) just to see how the tale ends, but after 6h and 40% of game completion i simple gave up. Bad. 4.5 of 10 this RTS is really bad except for its concept art-style.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The story is short and the end has an unexpected turn, but It is fun to play if you like the mix of RTS and RPG
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →to short for a stand alone... nice resolutions
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I recommend you DO NOT buy this game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →God, there's a fifteen-gazillion-page ramble in me about how Spellforce was an rough, uncut gem of a strategy game, gleaming with potential, and how Spellforce 2 cut out everything that made it special and turned it into the most milquetoast Warcraft III clone.
unlabelledView post →A game I used to love, Spellforce 2, had a skill system where every level you get a point to spend in a skill tree. Every node in that skill tree has exactly 3 ranks, requiring 3 points each. The level cap is 30. That's ten complete nodes you'd think, right? You start at level 1 with no points.

You'll get parts of a chapter with your party moving around places and talking to people, clearing side quests and gathering loot. Then the main quest commence and you start building your base and army to defeat the enemy. RPG-wise, there are talent trees and inventories to manage for each character. The allied heroes…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm a bit mixed about it, it IS mostly just more Spellforce 2 with some of the positives and all the negatives, that comes with it, however, I cannot recommend it wholeheartedly, the story is meh and kinda nonsensical, also half finished, gameplay is the usual, but very rushed and not as fun as the base game or the Dragonborn DLC, also I encountered a bug, which made me re-play 2 maps all over, because a cutscene broke thanks to a badly placed tower (hint, don't place towers at the elf base…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →SpellForce 2: Faith in Destiny expands the beloved formula with a fresh story and refined gameplay. While it is a standalone entry, it captures the essence of the series by blending RPG hero progression with real-time strategy battles. The campaign introduces a new protagonist, ensuring that both veterans and newcomers can enjoy the narrative without feeling lost. The story is engaging, filled with mystery and twists that keep you invested. Your hero grows stronger throughout the campaign,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My least favorite expansion of the Spellforce 2 but what can you do. It is not that bad.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →SpellForce 2: Faith in Destiny Review Review is after completing the main quest, about 50% of side quests and forging about 75% of unique items. Tried and gave up on the DLC campaigns. Pros: I must have FAITH! In my DESTINY! X 12 times Familiar SpellForce 2 combat and skill tree and mechanics. New enemy faction. Familiar Shaikan skill tree. Familiar gameplay mechanics, loot and gear systems. Familiar camera controls and map navigation. Familiar companions from SpellForce 2. Weapon crafting…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This expansion is horrible. Short, kinda hard and drags on.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The story is a little bit cliche and it is nowhere as good as the previous DLC like Dragon Wars but it is still quite fun and captures the player attention while also retaining a very nice soundtrack, RTS aspects and graphics.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →4 maps!!! I've seen DLCs longer than this "game".
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am an avid player of SpellForce 2. For some time now, I've had a very special idea: I desperately want BigFoot to become available as its own race in the game, and even better - I want it to become the strongest race of all. I imagine myself effortlessly defeating my opponents in the campaign with my BigFoot warriors and not being afraid of any challenge. With the strength and unique abilities of my BigFoot people, I will progress through the game and accomplish all tasks with ease. I would…
