BEWARE! this game has been abandoned by CAPCOM due to their greed being hurt from nobody buying the predatory Micro Transactions disguised as DLC. the game is as of now Unfinished and lacks any and all real DLC or anything that would actually have players replaying it more than a couple of times. there is more content in the Original Dragon's Dogma then in Dragon's Dogma 2, which is completely unacceptable when you consider the price difference. ignore thisgame if you wanted it and move on.…

OK so I really have a love/hate relationship with this game. On one hand I love it for its atmosphere and combat, on the other its a tedious grindfest that I have bounced off of like 3 times. Mods make it more bearable, but the one thing that really kills this game for me is the save system. Resting at inns the the only way to hard save- and that would be fine if this wasn't a winding road "open world" that takes in some cases an hour or more to get to the town you are trying to get to. And…

Lot of good gameplay systems but so many bad, even baffling, game design choices. Playing DD2 feels eating the best slice of cake up until you find a dead cockroach in the middle of it.

I have almost 280 hours in this game, and reading through the reviews, I've come to the conclusion that a lot of people are just talking out of their ass. 1. You do not have to pay real money to edit your character or main pawn's appearance. It's built into the game - you can go to either of the large cities' Barberies (Vernworth or Bakbattahl) to edit your hair, makeup, or full appearance, including body type and gender. 2. The Eternal Ferrystone is a free update we got in June. You do NOT…

The state of the game as of December 2025 makes it hard to recommend it to anyone. The gameplay itself is fun. The world, the mechanics, and the style are all amazing - but the performance has gotten noticeably even worse over time. The fact that both this game, and Monster Hunter Wilds are both sitting at Mixed reviews goes to show that Capcom doesn't know how to optimize open world games. The game currently has a weird stutter that completely ruins the experience for me. It wasn't present a…

Dragon’s Dogma 2 isn’t a Soulslike, and it isn’t Monster Hunter either. Its closest relative might actually be Dragon Age, but without rows of hotkey skills cluttering the UI. Instead, combat uses button + direction combinations for "aiming" at the enemy, no auto-lock here, very Capcom-esque, and the interface stays clean and immersive without MMO-style hotbars. You feel like you’re fighting, not managing a control panel. What truly sets Dragon’s Dogma apart (both 1 and 2) is that there’s…

Pros: - Combat - Pawn System - Exploration Cons: (Everything else) - Story - Side quests - Weight system - Game doesn't tell you you're on the final mission until it's too late. No way of going back to your previous save because of atrocious game save system - Explored 70% of map and did most side quests in around 30 something hours. Planned to do more but finished the game unexpectedly.

I write this review in hopes that anyone debating on playing it before or after the dlc drops in October. Dragon's Dogma 2 is honestly quite phenomenal. The game itself is a marvel in just near every way. The combat is amazing, it has always been one of the best selling points in the series. The story is alright, but really the side content in the game is really what gets the core of the experience. The story really feels like it's happening at every moment when you're immersed in it. The way…

To satisfy BAYING HORDES, Dragon's Dogma 2 is making it so that you can do unlimited fast travel. For the love of God, if you're excited to dig into what the game is doing and HOW it does it-- Don't use that shit. DD2 makes repeated traversal meaningful and interesting. It IS the game loop. This is probably the most frustrating gaming experience I have personally had. Not because the game is bad mind, Its just that it falls well short of the absolute Masterpiece it should have been. For any who have played the original and enjoyed it, Dragons Dogma 2 is a mixed bag. The combat and skill tweaks are much better. Character movement is better. The world feels much larger and more full of life. Even using the lantern is easier. The graphics are beautiful when compared to the original. There are a lot of positives. However pawns are still largely useless and annoying, getting stuck and falling off of cliff faces for no reason. The stagger mechanic is just as frustrating as it…

Game is still heavily unoptimized, even on hardware that is above the recommended. Capcom doesn't care apparently. Sad, I was so excited I pre-ordered the deluxe edition, and I still haven't played much outside the first town about 2 years later. Star Citizen runs better..And that's saying something. Game is running on an M2 drive too.

2 Years later and still a unfinished mess First 10-15 hours were great, enjoyed the combat (although its way too easy) as it was fun levelling up, unlocking new skills and the boss fights were fun too at the start, especially since you didnt get them every few minutes and they were rare. I tried really hard to enjoy this game as the first is one of my favorites, but my god there's just so much about this game that is so mediocre or bad. I don't even know where to start exactly, the core gameplay - that is to say the combat - is fun. Nothing else is. This game keeps being almost good. Unfortunately it never fully delivers, except for exploration enjoyers. I think delivering so little improvement after 12 years since the first game is unjustifiable. It feels like incompetence or detachment from the community, but smells like haught. - Combat gameplay is good, but being limited to 4 skills strikes me as tedious. A lot of people have been comparing Crimson Desert to DD2 lately, but in a lot of ways DD2 is a superior game. I have over 300 hours in CD, so I'm not just being a hater when I say that IMO DD2's creative direction is much more complete than CD's. Gameplay systems are implemented much more consistently across the entirety of the game (even the slightly janky ones). There's actually a narrative that makes sense and doesn't vacillate wildly in tone and theme between missions. CD feels to me…

This game pissed me off when it was released. The narrative for the new continent was shunted, you get the mcguffin and then all that careful story telling just rushes to an immediate and disappointing ending. This game is so unique that you can only really compare it to its predecessor and I like that. If uniqueness was all the game had to offer would be worthy already, but this game does so much more. 1. Combat is heavy and satisfying like anything else. 2. Dragon's Dogma 2 is one of the best games I've played in years. I regret listening to all the negative reviews and comments that convinced me this game was mediocre. Lesson learned: don't blindly trust modern audiences if you're a REAL GAMER. Dragon’s Dogma 2 starts strong. For the first 10–15 hours, the game feels good — even promising. But the longer you play, the more its huge flaws begin to surface, and eventually they become impossible to ignore. The main story is extremely boring. It’s stretched across just a few major quests, with almost no meaningful explanation of what is happening in the world. There’s no proper world-building, no clear lore, and no metaphysics behind the main plot. You simply move from point A to point B…

I have no idea how this is an 88 on metacritic, it's a solid 65 for me, and that's coming from someone who is a huge fan of the first Dragon's Dogma. Combat is the only fun part of the game, but that becomes boring soon with the lack of enemy variety. There's basically only 4 types of large monsters in the game (drake, ogre, cyclops, griffin), and 4 types of small monsters (goblin, bandit, dogs, flying thing). The different vocations are fun for a bit and combat can be fun, but it just gets…

Hoy, Arisen! The September patch has made the game completely new. The new keyboard control options allow the game to feel as if it is no longer a bad console port but a perfectly acceptable PC game. Also, I immediately noticed the smoothness of the frame time the moment I loaded a save.
