positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What I liked: Voice acting and story Meaningful choices Fun gameplay tailored to the world of trolls What I didn’t like: Slow start with lots of exposition Lacking overall challenge RTS aspect is less fleshed out My Score: B Quick Summary The final standalone expansion of SpellForce 3, Fallen Gods, keeps the nearly dead genre of RPG/RTS going with its immersive and well, voice-acted story where you decide the fate of the Moonkin tribe. It tailors the gameplay to the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After playing the game. I can honestly say I never been this engrossed with a game's story and characters, especially one about actual TROLLS. You would think a RTS game where you play as trolls would be "basic" or bland. With its impressive and mature approach to storytelling and unique hybrid game-play, the amount of care and effort the devs must have invested into their game would have been nothing short of massive. An RTS/RPG hybrid that passes most tests with flying colors. It takes on an…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have been playing narrative RTS since warcraft 2 and starcraft 1 came out. While Fallen God and Spell Force in general might not have the cleanest RTS mechanics. Pathing is slightly clunky, the economy, particularly as trolls can be quite annoying in the early game etc, these foibles are all overshadowed by the excellent storytelling. Fallen God is a game that will draw you in with the relationships between the characters. I haven't been as invested in Characters since the Arthas'…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game. Akrog has spoken.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The second expansion for Spellforce 3 & it's about trolls! I honestly cannot stress enough how impressed I am with this one. The base game and the first expansion were good, but somehow this one is better than both of them in every way, which tells me that the devs really listened and learned from everything that came before. This right here is Spellforce 3 at its peak. Gameplay and graphics are polished and fantastic, but what stands out the most in a positive light is that the story is so…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →These trolls sure are a chatty bunch! You'd expect trolls to only grunt and smash. Instead, here your troll party will investigate betrayals in a secret religious order of brittlebones (that's how trolls call other races), slice through a slew of ethical dilemma, process griefs, ponder the paradox of time travel, question the existence of god, while constantly commenting and debating with each other. The RTS missions are few, the RPG missions many. With dialogues at every corner. The…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fallen God is perhaps the best of the Spellforce 3 games (and the last). What is different: In the other 2 SP3 games you controlled one main character and a bunch of merry followers you found along the way, some of them interesting, many of them boring, but all of them with 2 combined talent trees. If you wanted to be efficient you just took the ones that let you instant win any map by razing the enemy fortress to the ground in one fell swoop. In Fallen God this is changed. You have your…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"Welcome! Thank you for playing SpellForce 3 ! For the best experience, please sign into your THQ Nordic Online account, or create a new one for free if you aren't registered yet." This is a thing you will see when starting up the game. If you hit play offline it will try to guilt trip you to make an account for fear of losing out on some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ level or whatever. You will see this in the other SpellForce 3 games: Soul Harvest and Reforced. How about no! I am done with this series. The…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It constantly reminded me of Rexxar’s campaign from Warcraft III. The third installment leans more on RPG elements than traditional RTS. However, I really enjoyed the mechanics of the new faction, which seem directly inspired by Battle Realms.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A few hours of fun, then a few hours of frustration as the game doesn't even load a save without crashing. After crashing the game does not start and just stops responding on startup, prompting windows to suggest shutting it down. No error message, no indication what is going wrong and none of the solutions offered online help in any way. 3 years after the last major patch I expect the software to function, I don't mind bugs, but being unable to play is simply not acceptable. I cannot…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a beautiful and unique game that resembles a luxury car, but its wheels are square, so you'll struggle when trying to drive it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awesome game, gives me WC3 horde campaign vibes
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This expansion genuinely surprised me, in a very good way. I did not expect the quality to be a jump from the original and yet, there it is. To start, the gameplay is solid and I found the Troll Faction much more fun to play than the Dwarfs or Dark Elfs. Their unit roster is solid, with many feeling like a direct upgrade to the previous one which also adds a niche/mechanic to the fold specific to them, making the use of Tier 2 units in the late-game very viable. A great addition is the fact…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →SpellForce 3: Fallen God is one of the most refreshing fantasy strategy experiences released in recent years because it approaches the genre from a completely different perspective. Instead of focusing on heroic kingdoms, noble warriors, or large empires fighting for dominance, the game centers on a desperate troll tribe struggling to survive in a world that views them as monsters. Developed by Grimlore Games and published by THQ Nordic, this standalone expansion pushes the SpellForce formula…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →IDK anything about the campaign but multiplayer vs the AI is extremely challenging on high difficulties. It feels like Warcraft 3 without as much worker mico-management. Great game for single player or coop skirmish
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like all parts of Spellforce 3 quite a lot. They all have great and rather meaty campaigns. But I believe "Fallen God" to be the very best. Not only does it have the best character developement & interactions, but also the best pacing, level design and even the graphics seem better. I could write more, but honestly - this game is dirt cheap right now so spend less time reading my story and more time playing your own. It's absolutely worth it. Yeah, took me some years to finally pick this…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →+Unit upgrades are pretty interesting -Story -Voice cast -Annoying puzzles that aren't fun -Converting dropped items into elements over to buy other items. Super annoying. -Locations -Only 200 units can be created. One of the biggest issues. -AI still cheats like crazy even on easy -Boring troll bullsh.it -Boring and overpowered enemies -Characters -The worst dlc in Spellforce 3
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Spellforce 3: Fallen God is the second and last stand-alone expansion (so to play this expansion, you don't need to own the main game) for Spellforce 3, released in 2020. and already included in Spellforce 3: Reforced. You're playing as Akrog Bonecrusher, who after the death of the previous chieftain Narjak, takes its role and has to face the difficulties that go along with that task. One of which is that they are constantly hunted or taken as slaves by both light and dark races. To stop this…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Spellforce is my childhood game. I really hard to remember how many times completed this game. 15? maybe 20.. It's include SpellForce: Breath of Winter, SpellForce: Shadow of the Phoenix. Guys, be honest, if you want to critism, you could everything. I think this about your characher more than game. Ofcourse like everygame, you can't be happy everyone. But please, :) i read all negative reviews, mostly compere with other game experiences. Maybe it's about your age, i don't know. Especially…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The entire spellforce 3 experience has been amazing. The main story and the dlcs were really good. Will be treasuring this game for a long time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one of the best rpgs i've ever played. the story and the writing are really good. great voice acting. it is a bitter sweet story that stays with you. out of all Spellforce 3 this is the best one.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Boring DLC with a lot of bugs, my saves just disappeared and I had to start the game from the beginning!!! -----
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great fun and Great Story. Im sad its over
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →well it got me for my money thank god i got it on sale since i'm already uninstalling it. so many reviews about how awesome it is, they have to all be paid. no way anyone enjoys just a never ending spam of repair man why your troops slowly but surely get whittled away to nothing and still the building doesnt fall. i suppose if you're a masochist you may enjoy this but i didn't
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sharp tusk and strong hide.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A great story in a rare RPG/RTS mix. Not everything is perfect, but I enjoyed it a lot.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An underrated expansion for Spellforce 3. A fun blend of different genres; Decent rts side, great rpg elements, and an excellent story. I don't normally play unappealing characters in any genre but the story pulled me from the story.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a bittersweet experience and a blast the last expansion was, i have to agree with a lot of people that mentioned WC3 Campaign. What i would give for a 3rd expansion in this quality or for a fourth entry in the series.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another fantastic expansion of SF3 that focus a bit more into the RPG aspect of the game. Your choices will affect the ending you get, and how the last maps work out. While I enjoyed this expansion, I liked Soul Harvest a lot more. The devs tried to do something different from the base game and soul harvest DLC, while keeping things fun and engaging. I just think the final level is a bit overturned in difficulty, especially towards the end. This expansion felt a bit more buggy /…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Trolls are a nice addition to other Spellforce 3 races, they are not just reskins, have their own unique mechanics, units are promoted to different types (rather than buying stronger units outright), start of economy is pretty weak, but gets really strong with supporting buildings... The culture of trolls is very unique, expanding the world even more. If you liked previous Spellforce 3, this is more of the same and still plays great with these new additions.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Having played the original story and Soul Harvest, which I'd place in my top 10 of all time RPG games, this one fell way short. First off it crashed a lot, in weird places, with audio issues. The other two never crashed on me. This one also starts off kind of dull and way off the beaten path from the other two storylines. It's not a sequel at all. It's also not a race that seems all that interesting to play. The story doesn't draw you in nor does it have that high stakes appeal the other two…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →great RTS with funny twist to it. beautiful graphics, fun mechanics, great story. It feels as if its spiritual successor to Warcraft 3. please continue to make games!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Story is remarkably good and well staged. IMO way more depth and seriousness than the story of the main game. Gameplay is classic Spellforce. Nothing redefining but fun nonetheless. For people who enjoy a good story with nice voice acting and tons of lore through dialogue and are less into stressful RTS-APM stuff.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly, one of the best games I have ever played. The pacing, combat, RPG elements and RTS elements were just wonderful. The story is also amazing. Compared to the other Spellforce 3: Reforced expansions, it is a much tighter gameplay experience. You get 4 hero Trolls, plus the Troll faction to play with. They're rather unique. I really liked how one hero changed during your journey based on how you chose dialogue options. In my opinion, Fallen God > Burning Blood (base campaign) > Soul…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →All three Spellforce 3 campaigns were interesting, even this chapter dedicated to trolls. I enjoyed it way more than I anticipated!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Seems like a good game if you like these sorts of games. I appreciate being able to just buy this as a stand alone game to give it a try without having to buy the prior games. It was definitely worth it for $5. While this game wasn't for me, it looks excellent for those who like this sort of game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you're craving for Warcraft 4, this is it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The third and final part of Spellforce 3. Surprisingly fresh and interesting for the formula. A lot of established mechanics are shaken up, like trading becoming near obsolete for crafting, you get to store resources for your main base upgrades, characters are a lot more defined and locked, even the way things are said, and more. My previous complaint of not having as much faction progression tied to the campaign was alleviated with better gradual unlocking. The final mission deserves to be…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Enjoyed the game and story. This was my first Spellforce game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →one of the best game i've ever played
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hidden Gem. Voice acting, writing, story are top tier. Runs well, graphically decent, lacking in spell effects imo. Micro and Macro get progressively more difficult. A must play in the RTS genre
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Spellforce 3: Ooga Booga 60 IQ - Slow Edition
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a blast , the flawless gameplay RPG x RTS set in Universe of Witcher x Warcraft , Spellforce just make it perfect like the good ol golden era fantasy game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is incredibly buggy and unoptimized.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game, but I played Journey mode more than the campaign.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played all 3 campaigns game is very good good story, base building not for every1 but i thorougly enjoyed it Big recommend to any1 wanting to play a good mix of RTS and adventure. Played soul harvest and fallen god in coop with my brother and was a very enjoyable experience. 1st campaign i m not sure if you can play in coop cause i played it myself before i got to play with bro. In these days of devs developing utter garbage this game is imo 10/10.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had overlooked Spellforce 3, in the past. I overlook it no more.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Might even be the Spellforce 3 Campaign
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Spellforce is still one of those games that just keeps giving. Great world building, fun RTS elements. Gotta love it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the single greatest stories I have ever played. A true beauty.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great writing and great game, want to speak like troll now.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A weird mix of RTS and RPG that has some rough edges, but ultimately work really well once one gets past the learning curve. The story campaign is one of my favorite for any RTS in my opinion and definitely is underrated.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I Honestly disliked this one. On nearly no map I used any of my armies but the heroes. That said I also never really cared for them, I can't tell why, but never connected to them. Also just about 11h of playtime isn't that much. Overall they reused very little maps (if any, can't remember one).
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →rushed third act leaves a bad taste in the mouth
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i was going to give a thumbs up but theres a bug towards the end in where at the end of some conversation your whole squad dies out of nowhere and u cant continue, the things that are posted online didnt work, so f this game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is you basically RP'ing Thrall (i know trolls not orcs, bug off) and it's absolutely glorious. Honestly the game itself is OK-tier (RTS is meh, combat is meh, graphics meh) but whoever wrote the scripts and designed/voiced over the dialog is a bloody genius. The RPG aspect is better than most of the crap Blizzard has been putting out in the past 5-10y. 11/10 would worship Mugwa again "Sharp hides and thick tusks"
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →great rts/rpg, developers please keep making games like this.
