Scenes from Awajima
Created by Morio Asaka
At Awajima Opera School, girls from across Japan strive to earn a place on stage. Wakana is driven by her love of musical theater, while Kinue studies with quiet discipline. Scholarship student Emi draws attention from all—but especially from Keiko, who struggles with admiration and comparison. Through shifting perspectives, their intertwined days explore ambition, friendship, and self-discovery. From TMDB

I hope this one will be better. * **That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 4** - Yay! More meetings! (please, don't) * **Classroom of the Elite IV** - I don't remember much about it. I'm gonna need a recap * **Ascendance of a Bookworm Season 4** - Aside from season 1, this was rather underwhelming, but hopefully the change of the studio will bring some improvements. The trailer looked…

I hope the adaptation does justice to Kamome Shirahama's gorgeous art. My only concern for now is that I didn't imagine Qifrey and Olruggio sounding like Natsuki Hanae and Yuuichi Nakamura; I'll get used to it…

unlabelledView post →Scenes from Awajima really is going to the hidden gem of the decade. Episode 11 blew me away. When it clicked to me that the structure of the show is part of the narrative itself, then it gave it another dimension on a metatextual storytelling level. Painful, sophisticated, emotive, hopeful.

unlabelledView post →I'm fully revue-pilled, so 100 Scenes from Awajima was a shoe-in for me, but it's shaping up to be a lovely little anthology series Which I guess makes for a nice top 10, not in any particular order past the first few. Watching a bunch more of course, but those are the highlights for me right now.

It is not known if the #magicalgirl series, Magical Sisters LuluttoLilly will have queer characters, but probably not. (118/?)

unlabelledView post →Yeah, I haven't read the book myself, so I have no opinion on it one way or the other. What is most exciting was the new adaptation of a series by Shimura, Scenes from Awajima, which you mentioned earlier this year in a post as well okazu.yuricon.com/2025/07/05/y...
