Rocketbirds 2 Evolution
Developer Ratloop Asia
The original Coq of War returns in a glorious explosion of finger-licking fun; with enhanced controls, new upgrade systems, a full single player campaign in “Part 1: The Cockup” with full VO and OST - and a 1- 4 player campaign in “Part 2: The Rescue” with procedurally generated maps. Following 2012’s delightful Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken, developer Ratloop Asia has finally released the sequel, Rocketbirds 2 Evolution on PC. I was genuinely surprised by the first Rocketbirds and found it to be a great budget action-platformer that probably got overlooked by a lot of people. While a fine game in its own right,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rocketbirds 2: Evolution puts you - once again - in control of Hardboiled Chicken after the events of the first game. This sequel is a drastic improvement, fixing what were the weak points of the previous title (while being more focused on run 'n' gun shooting), and for that, it's a great indie title that shouldn't be missed. However, I do miss a few things that were present in the first game. + Rocketbirds 2 finally lets you aim freely in every direction with a much greater variety of weapons…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Basic Information Title: Rocketbirds 2 Evolution Status: Released Developer: Ratloop Asia Publisher: Reverb Triple XP Genre: Action Side Scroller Release Date: 26th of January, 2017 Type: Singleplayer & Multiplayer General Impression You don’t see 12GB-sized 2D platformers very often. I don’t think that all the other side scrollers in my current Steam collection put together, result in that sum. By comparison, Rocketbirds 1 only occupies 500MB of space. So you know just by looking at…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rocketbirds, this title is gaining space for the simplicity in the gameplay, allied to the run 'n shoot system with variety of weapons. Get ready for action. Gameplay An action 2D platform game with a nice variety of weapons and accessories that help you to move forward in the scenarios. In the game you can walk, run, jump, aim and shoot. You have shortcuts to changing weapons quickly and specific accessories to certain functions. The game is fully compatible with gamepads and the gameplay…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really liked the first game but this one is a disappointment. Fps drops, laggy backgrounds, bad aiming and mechanics, even the graphics looks bad according to the first one. Don't play it whatever the price this is come to.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rocketbirds 2 Evolution is the second game about the hardboiled chicken. Some mysterious space owls have revived iL Putzki, the enemy from the first part and it’s your job to manage this once and for ever now. The gameplay is as smooth as the first one. You can use different weapons, change them whenever you want, sometimes you get new devices for controlling enemies and things like that and sometimes you will meet some NPC characters who will help you out for a while. And besides a very…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I feel really disappointed about this game, I loved the original Rocketbirds game, I bought it in a point and time in my life in which I was trying every game that caught my eye, every game that I found even remotely interesting, I would try, and of the bunch, the original Rocketbirds remained one of the most memorable ones, which is why I bought it again for Steam after moving from console to pc. So naturally I was anticipating this one for some time, out of nowhere it seem to come out, and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rocketbirds 2 takes everything the orginal done and amplifies it tenfold. Amazing artwork accompanied by a memorable soundtrack that give the game an overall vive. the main meat of the game is divided into two parts. Part One is a solo adventure in a similar vein to the first, though slightly longer in length. The boss battles and enemy personalities really added to the excitement. Part Two serves as an introduction to the multiplayer, although it can be played solo, which I done. You go…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another excellent Rocketbirds game. If you liked the first one, then this is a whole lot more of the same. The "Part 2" co-op is very well done, with up to four players - each player's upgrade progress being tracked separately as well as gamepad configurations. I did have trouble getting Steam's Controller Tool to work, so I had to disable it. Otherwise, the game worked really well on my Ubuntu Linux desktop, with the Steam Proton compatibility tool. Lots of different challenging levels,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The first one was great, with a cool coop campaign. But this time, no coop campaign and the gameplay is really slow. They took away everything that was fun in the game, trying to make it more subtle, but to me, it just feels boring.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I paid $2.50 for this and even that is a waste of money. I remember the first game being balls out awesome but way too short. This game is apparantly twice as long but it sucks. The aiming controls suck (with controller), the graphics seem like they were downgraded from what I can remember, the level design is terrible, and the first boss was so cheap and so miserably bad I just alt+f4'ed out of the game and will probably never play it again. Despite the steam review system often being abused…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →- Fast Action Paced gameplay throughout the lengthy campaign with humorous dialogue. - Tons of weapons. Each with unique feel and distinct purposes. - UPGRADABLE weapons and items / cosmetics - Campaign does not feel repetitive at all due to the introduction of a wide variety of enemies. - Seperate multiplayer coop of up to 4 players. (Optional) The campaign is still very well produced if u are planning to play single player. - I dont usually play 2D shooters with keyboard and mouse but…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A worthy successor of the awesome first part with a neat soundtrack from the pen of New World Revolution. Keep on Clucking Ratloop!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing game 10/10, Though i don't like how there's a rigged part so not so nice about that...
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It has KKK with roosters.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Less chapter if excluding part 2. less kind of enemies compare to rocketbirds 1. May be spend too much on 3D
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Zero optimalization, disapointment from the beginning.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolute Cinema, I love the Art-Style and the Soundtrack is amazing! Last time I tried playing it years ago, it lagged pretty bad & I stopped playing, but this time it didn't and it ran smooth.. not sure what exactly was causing the problem but I am glad the problem didn't occur again and I finally played the game! 10/10 I would love a third entry
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →controllers don't work. don't bother with this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lots of violence and good storyline that follows up with the first game. Definitely a one-of-a-kind gem.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love this game, and I think the multiplayer would be fun for those teaming up together
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Terrible frame-rate and stuttering during combat. I spent almost an hour trying to remedy this but I couldn't. I have a GTX 1060 6GB, i7 3770 3.4 GHz, and 12 GB RAM. I should be able to run this without a sweat! I can't make sense of this at all. I don't recommend this just for the bad optimization. Maybe the PS4 version performs better....
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Major improvements from the first game which I really enjoyed. I don't have the best computer so these lower requirement games are nice, but don't let that throw you off. The first 6 chapters playing as Hardboiled were very, very fun. Way more skill and action-packed then the first. It was hard to get used to the new art style because I did like that from the first one but you get used to it. It was a very fun game, very smooth and good music as well. So many more guns you can interchange while…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Totally different from Rocketbirds 1.Not sure if I will like the change of gameplay. But! The online co-op mode is great!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rocketbirds 2 Evolution is the sequel to Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken. It's essentially the same game engine and a similar story, so I'll supply my review for the first game in the series to begin with: This is a 2D platformer/shooter with a slightly surrealist theme as you fill the role of an anthropomorphic chicken fighting various communist avians in an alternative universe Russian cold war. First up despite being a largely 2D game the visuals are tight. Very clean graphics, slight…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For some reason, I didn't really "feel it" anymore. I liked the first game, but the entire first chapter here felt more like an annoyance. I don't remember having to do twin-stick shooting, and the controls felt weird with their excessive use of the shoulder buttons. Then, the chapter-boss came up -- a big robot. It took forever to whittle it down, and then... nothing. It was just standing there, the small fry kept spawning, and no matter how long I kept killing those (eventually loosing what…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Alright 2d platforming shooter. Like the humor
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rocketbirds 2 is an honest continuation of the first game. We have back our charismatic and unstoppable hero (Hardboiled Chicken) who must continue his great campaign against the forces of evil. Getting the story into an even greater threat by keeping the atmosphere of an action movie was a challenge that the creators of Rocktbirds were not going to fail. Knowing the quality of the first story there would be no doubt that the second would be as good as the first. The gameplay and soundtrack are…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i love this game rocketbirds 1 and 2. the second rocket birds is funnier to me because of there corny jokes
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It feels like the devs have kept everything that made the first one enjoyable intact. Good controls, lighthearted humor, nice artwork - winning combo in my book. And right now they give you the first game free with a purchase. Honestly, can't beat it if you are new to these developers' work. The 'stacking' mechanic in part 2 is giving me flashbacks to Serious Sam DD with the amount of options that could be possible. However, part 2 becomes kind of a grind to progress as far as I can tell, with…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is incredible...Just as the first...but so much better, happy I waited for the pc release.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What you see is what you get. Somewhat gory bird on bird violence with "humor." Could slap for the proper age group. Did't have a fun enough game loop to continue for me. Fights overstay their welcome. If you want to "give it a chance" then pass but if you are like "this is hilarious!" then it is for you.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The first one won me over with its thoughtful map design and did not wear out its welcome or its simplicity and ended at the right time. This one took all of that, turned the already absurd story into something even more insane, but removed a lot of environmental puzzle solving it had in the prequel. The combat is still snappy, although it does feel more like a shoot-em-up rather than the more limited first game that gave a more stealthy feel to the game. The controls are a bit awkward on a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really fun game that reminds me of my own real life adventures as a penguin abusing rocket powered bird
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →awesome fun, great soundtrack, low brow humor here and there, not enough to annoy, but it's still there. also, multiplayer is still cool, but I discovered this game too late and the multiplayer is inactive... "why me?"
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Did not present the looks in the portion I played to nearly justify the install size. Controls feel off, possibly input lag from a vsync that there is no option to turn off, but the result in a lurching pause between pressing a button and the character responding. The free aim feels pointless and results in some hilarious animations as you constantly run past your own cursor and your character instantly does an about face while running at full speed and/or jumping. The level design is just bad…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The second game does everything better than the first game! The gunplay is alot more enjoyable with a inventory system to choose your arsenals throughout the game. You have alot of more free movement when fighting enemies or going platforms to platforms. The music is still amazing as always but i don't personally like the sudden change of the artstyle, making the characters look very cartoonish doesn't seem to fit them well nor the world of rocketbirds but aside from that they are well…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game disappointed me. Storyline is now sounds more like it's one of those stupid tv show for kids. But gameplay is what makes me happy. Now this game became twin-stick shooter and the intresting one
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A lot more strategy is required in this game compared to the original. i.e. there's actually aiming now. I haven't gotten to the second part yet, but part 1 is a really good time and I highly recommend it if you liked the original. My only issue is that it no longer has that cute art aesthetic the original has, but it's a not a deal breaker by any means.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rocketbirds 2 Evolution The sequel to Rocketbirds Hardboiled Chicken is a direct sequel to the previous game. It has series of improvements and new game mechanics that were needed, Rocketbirds 1 had the problem of being pretty wonky, you couldn't aim and enemies just tanked damage. It had a pretty terrible combat, that ended up being an obstacle. Rocketbirds 2, solves this by letting you aim freely, giving you a double jump and introducing a inventory system. It also has... ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ JAPANESE…
