60 of 125 · most liked firstFirst off, let me say I WANT TO LOVE THIS GAME! SimGolf was a fun game. One of my all-time favorites. This game has potential. If you can get past the bugs it still lacks the fun of the original. Golfers are hitting fairway shots straight up in the air. There's no measurement tools except tee to green. There's no hole stats (looking at the avg scores per hole is a huge part of the "sim" game). You build a clubhouse and the first hole and there's a dozen messages already and your 2 staff…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Let me preface this review by saying that like most others who bought into this game I am a huge SimGolf fan. I'm hoping for this game to achieve a status of being the spiritual successor to the best golf management game ever made. I respect the developers for getting an early copy out for people to play and test and I hope they draw enough founding from it to continue development on it. That said, the game in its current state has serious problems. The UI needs a serious rework for one,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am an avid fan of the golf tycoon games that inspired this game. That being said, its full of bugs, has few features currently, and can be a tad frustrating at times. What I enjoy: - Building Holes - Playing the Holes I've built - Adding scenery to my course to make it beautiful - The aesthetic of this game is very nice - The music is cute and fanciful - The developer is extremely interested in what their players have to say What is Meh: - Buildings don't feel like they're as useful as…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I want this to be a good game. I loved sim golf and still play it today. This game though should not be out yet, I cant even get past the tutorial because of all the bugs in the game. It also is lacking many, many, many basic features that need to be in a sim golf game. hopefully devs get to work and make me change my mind. I do want this game to be good and I hope it will be. for now i might just get a refund and come back to it at a later date.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →ENG: I love Sid meier's simgolf game but, compared this game into this game, this game is not fully complete game so, currently i can't recomented this game because, this game not have or still have all features that i wanted or looking for & game have lot of small bugs that not was fixed yet. Most important or issue for this game is "game update schedules". When game was released this game get updates every week & then they planed to change this to make big patch that gonna released every…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This doesn't seem to have been finished. One of the clues that it should still be in Early Access is that the loading screen says "Early Access" - that's the level of polish that's there :( I loved Sim Golf. This game isn't it. The virtual golfers don't talk while they play, and they don't seem to think about the course the way Sim Golfers did. I quit the game and decided to do the refund when I noticed I'd received a letter from a patron complaining that the prices in the restaurant were…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →***GAME ABANDONED BY DEV. DO NOT BUY*** If you're looking for a Sid Meier's Sim Golf replacement, this isn't it..... yet. This game has HUGE potential but I can't quite recommend it in the current state it is in. Of course the game is in Alpha and one can expect lots of bugs and issues with the game, but here's a few issues I had in my short time playing: 1. AI Golfers really struggle to actually play golf. They're okay at getting down the fairway to the green, but once on the green they're…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Heavily inspired by Sim Golf, one of my favorite early Sim games comes Resort Boss Golf. It's got more things to manage and build then Sim golf ever did, but still being in EA a lot of things are not completed yet. It has a lot of promise and fun already at $15 price tag. I've built several resorts now, it's not hard to succeed in this game right now, it's just a lot of fun building the resorts and holes and trying to make everyone happy. The developer and publishing team have been very…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A complete buggy mess, not a game by any stretch of the imagination. I cant get further than building a second hole as at that point golfers will clog up play by continuously hitting shots into the out of bounds, regardless of what hazards are in their way. I can't play any hole I create no matter how complex or simple, my golfer simply stands in the corner apparently 'waiting for me'. I would not recommend this to anyone.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Admittedly it is in a very early alpha state with a lot of work required to build it into a proper game, plus many bugs to iron out. (but to be honest why would you expect anything less from early access) That being said there is the makings of a very fine game here and even at this early state its fun to play. The developers are very receptive to feedback and player ideas and I for one am eager to be a part of the early access and to support the growth of this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really want to love this game, and have been waiting for a while now to get it. As of right now there are to many things wrong for me to enjoy this game. The game is currently very buggy to where I cant even get out of the tutorial. the customization could be better such as more items to customize buildings. With this being said i only paid 12 bucks for it and am looking forward to many updates in the future and will continue playing in hopes of becoming better than Sim Golf. Things…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →WARNING! DO NOT BUY THIS GAME, IT'S BADLY BROKEN IN TOO MANY AREAS. This game is so hard to love when you used to play sim golf back in the day, the art style screams low budget and i hate it. I don't care about amazing graphics, but it would have been so much better if it looked something like the escapists 2 or similar, this just looks so sterile and flat, just awful. Game also has annoying elements and obvious bugs that should easily have been picked up on in pre alpha…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game no longer works right, hasn't been updated in a year or so. I guess the Dev gave up.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was honestly a huge ripoff. It is filled with various annoying bugs. The loading times were painfully long. And everything just feels incomplete. With the base price of 12€? A ripoff! Do not buy this abandoned garbage. Not until Gus Martin fixes the issues. Who knows, maybe he won't fix 'em. All in all, it's just a very buggy game. I absolutely do not recommend this. Currently it's just a waste of money. And I had to give a negative review. Even the tutorial section had bugs!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've played this twice now, I have had to alt-F4 out of the game both times because the interface vanishes and even ESC produces no menu. From what I've seen so far I'm not sure if the price is worth what I've received. Hard to tell when you can't keep playing. Is there a hot-key that is doing this? No key presses brings back the interface, and I tried them all. I pick the NO decision, as I had to pick one to post this, was planning on remaining neutral at this time. Game developers, am I…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The principles of this game are very fun and it starts to scratch the itch of playing a modern Sim Golf with a few tweaks to make it new. However it falls flat as a sale of a complete game. There are not enough pre-made buildings. I have spent hours making versions of my own buildings when all i wanted to do was construct a 5 star hotel to meet an in game achievement or advance to the next level. The building editor is possibly the most disappointing part of this game. It has great potential,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I only have 1.8 hrs in this game and I recommend you don't get this game for a number of reasons. 1. The AI are completely brain dead. Literally the first golfer to go to my first course on the first hole couldn't finish the course. I probably could have kept it running for a couple hours and he wouldn't have done it. His stats were below average but his IQ must've been like 5 cause he was using a 3 wood on the green and shooting it back toward the teebox. 2. You can't connect existing lakes…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ok so my first draft was very long and I think a little too on the mean side so I'm going to try and keep this shorter and nicer. TLDR; A very buggy game that is not an enjoyable experience. Would recommend you look at Sid Meier's SimGolf for a better experience. This game is very buggy to the point of it probably shouldn't have been taken out of Early Access. There are bugs for just about everything the AI bugs out consistently, sometimes you can't play parts of the game without restarting…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sid Meier's Sim Golf is one of the greatest tycoon style games of all time, and this game urinates all over it while kicking it in the crotch and setting it on fire. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. Please, please, PLEASE do not buy this game. Let's start with the exceedingly obvious. The game looks ugly. I don't mean that the cutesy art style is bad, that at least feels like it's trying. The terrain, however, looks like bruised, warty splotches dabbed randomly over a lumpy sheet, and the buildings…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sid Meier's sim golf reboot. Honestly when I first saw this game being developed I got excited as I remembered playing Sim Golf, and I would believe this would be a great nostalgia game for me. So far I like where the game is headed with their idea, and it's clear that the developers got a stable version for people to start playing with the mechanics. Some bugs I've encountered so far is texture glitching, windows not showing/opening, shot analyzer being stuck on, and building glitching. As…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →active devs, weekly/monthly updates. Very fun golf management game mixed with tycoon type game. LOTS LOTS LOTS of potential.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this game after reading several of the thumbs down reviews mostly to support the developer, but I'm generally happy with the game as it stands right now. It's definitely in an early access state, and I want to highlight some of the negatives: - you use only the keyboard to move the camera, which takes some getting used to - it's not clear when you can change elevation around the perimeter fence or the lake - it's not clear if golfers use trees as an obstacle - there's a big grey…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Updated Review: It has been over half a year since my original review. And the little issues I had originally are all but gone. There has been a lot more content added to the game fleshing out its systems, customization and management of the golf resort. The content definitely deserves a replay for those that were early adopters. The developer has continued to stay active and informing the community of the development roadmap and taking opinions and requests. For the price of this game, I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was so excited to find a game like SimGolf that I jumped at this and bought without reading reviews or watching gameplay videos, and I regret it. This game only does landscaping well - everything else is just frustrating. Frustrations listed below: 1. AI is dumb. They all take the same route on a hole, which is usually wrong. Forget having an offset tee box or a dog-leg, the AI just tries to yeet the ball around/over the rough/trees of your dog leg. 2. AI will just seemingly break and stop…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dont waste your time or money on this game it is a piece of garbage. Can someone please remake sim golf properly.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The aesthetic is really nice, and the concept is really cool, but it's just not done well in many ways. It actually makes me a little sad, because I would love for this to be an amazing game, but it's just got too many flaws, with not enough going for it. EDIT: Not just flaws, there are multiple completely game breaking bugs. I just had a bug in my main game, where I've spent many hours, with a total networth of 3.6 million, and it's now a useless save, because a bug happened where I won't be…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →not much content in this game, gotta build everything yourself. 2/10 80% of playtime is afk card farming
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really want to like this game, I really do. Playing the old Sid Miers SimGolf is really hard on Modern PCs as it opens in the smallest window possible. Then I saw this. It was EA when I bought it. So I knew it would hopefully change. Now not that it hasn't. I really cannot stand the colour scheme or the artwork. Why can't it just look Normal? I am not sure what the yellow bits are? are they sand? no I can add Bunkers.. So it's not sand. The colours confuse me, it's really hard to navigate…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Early Access Game being sold as a finished product, which it certainly is not. If you want a game you can play, ignore this title.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wanted to wait until an update was made to this game before giving it a review. So far, this game has a lot of promise to it. Building holes as well as buildings is very simple, and the UI is very user friendly/ easy to navigate. When I bought this game about a week ago (of this review), I played it and didn't run into any bugs. However, I noticed when replaying the tutorial earlier, that when it came time to play my hole, I tried to use a wedge to get out of a bunker, and next thing I know,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →When I purchased this game I was expecting a game with most of it's features which worked. I thought this because, quote - “Ultimately this will be led by our community of early adopters. We believe we are launching with a great version of the game, and if our players agree, then we could be in Early Access for just a few months.” Instead, you get a pre-alpha game with features that hardly work and a lack of content. The most fun you will get is creating your first hole and then it pretty…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So I bought this thinking it might be a good replacement for Sim Golf. So far it falls short. I know it's early access so I am not telling anyone to avoid the game. Things that need improvement.... A way to bulk delete the in game messages. They happen too frequently to go through each one. The golfing is unimaginative. The ball flies to a spot and stops. Will not roll off a higher elevation. Let's add some golfer skills. Allow them to master parts of their game like draw and backspin. The…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Had the potential to become something good. Clearly abandoned without cause.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had so much hope for this game. There are very few games like this on Steam, and I was hoping that it would be a chill experience where I can just build a golf resort. But, one thing prevented that. Bugs. This game is one of the buggiest games I have ever played. Some examples include, - Golfers constantly hitting the ball into the water while on the edge of a water hazard - Golfers constantly putting the ball into the hole without stopping, backing up the whole course - Terrain bugs -…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game could be good. It is currently plagued by a ton of bugs. Sometimes play will stop during tournaments. The participants will have scores of over 3000. Tournaments should last 3-5 days depending on the number of participants but if you start a tournament don't expect it to end for a year or so. Sometimes you will see your income completely broken. The game will show you are making 90k a month and only spending 60k, but you will lose tons of money constantly. This would be a fun…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Go play Golftopia.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly, don't use the tutorial. Fails to explain a lot of things and is more confusing than helpful. Spent 45 minutes going through the tutorial because I couldn't do so many things that should just work (rotate rooms, seating etc for the buildings). Spent ages making an awesome clubhouse, tried to place it, and was clearly way too big and had to get rid of it. Playing your course isn't explained well at all, I still have no idea. Hoped to be something like Sid Meiers Sim Golf, but fails…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don´t buy this game, I tried building three different courses easy or hard. Players just quoue up and you lose money. Bug after bug and the person that designed this game probably never set foot on a golfcourse.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is a very good game but i can't reccomend it because it takes ages to load and half the time it doesn't work.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this game one time and then everytime I try to play the game again the game wont load it just stops on the loading screen and. I don't know what happened help
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game works but everything seems subpar, no pun intended. Every system feels extremely basic. Terrible optimization.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Broken? golfers shoot every were but the green.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Spiritual successor to SimGolf? Yes. But it is miles apart from it. It is not fun, and it is plagued with bugs.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I used to adore SimGolf and this looked very similar but with the kooky voxel-style graphic. And it really is almost identical, but yet also somehow far far worse. I picked this title up somewhere for only a couple of quid and still feel mugged off. It is a testament to this game's unplayability that (at the time of writing) 37 out of 38 achievements have been attained by less than 1% of players, despite many of them being extremely basic. (Side note: I managed to get a fair amount of them…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While I hold out huge promises for this game. At its current stage there are a few bugs with it. Like others have stated, they golfers only shoot straight for the hole and not how the course is designed. They would rather shoot into a forest or rough than follow the fairway. With that being said, the AI needs a whole new brain or reprogramming. In their current state, they are just down right brainless with no real logic to their thinking. I can see this game, becoming great and with the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this game and it was alright gameplay wise but there was tons and tons of bugs when playing. Went to start playing second day and the game never started up, spend 8 minutes loading the game but nothing happened. Refunded and sorry to not recommend this game solely based on how buggy and broken it is.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This sounded like the kind of game that I would be interested in but it still needs a lot of work. This is beyond disappointing. My first course has the sound of a golf swing repeating, tee boxes not loading correctly and other bugs. There is what looks like a link for a patch for the game but the link only opens a picture of the game. Others hopefully will read this review and not waste the $13 like I did so foolishly.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Going in the right direction after the first updates and is now very playable. Obviously still a long way to go but am feeling more confident this could be the worthy successor to Sid Meiers Golf we have all been hoping for. Keep up the good work devs and this can become great.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TL;DR: If you are a Sim Golf fan hoping that this is the long awaited Sim Golf 2 then don't bother with it yet Currently a disappointment because it is not Sim Golf 2 or anywhere even close to it. The single most disappointing thing is that playing your own course is not fun. Not fun at all. Sim Golf was amazing because you could create a golf course that was fun to play. Do the balls roll at all in this game? I've not really noticed them doing so. I enjoyed making holes in sim golf that had…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Resort Boss: Golf is a game where you create your own golf resort. Resort Boss: Golf doesn't have any campaign to play as you just make your resort and expand from there. Making the holes gives you three ratings to help make its par score, but when you place the tiles, not all of them will mesh together to make it look neat and they sometimes look patchy, which doesn't look appealing. You can play your holes, but you must also wait for the guests to finish, which would normally be fine if it…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Appears to be abandonware now. I had massive hopes for this game, which have since been dashed. Avoid, not worth the money at all.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is incomplete and unplayable. No matter what game mode you play, inevitably the npcs get stuck and the game breaks. I have played 10 hours on 2 occasions trying to get the game to work. I meet the minimum settings. This game is trash.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I hate to be THAT person, but the game never loads, the 10 hours i have on record are me going AFK, waiting for it to load. Wouldn't recommend this at all.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a absolute scam of a game. SAD!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Was hoping for a replacement for sim golf, but it just isn't quite there yet. Will keep an eye on it going forward but for now..i'd just rather play sim golf. I can see effort has gone into this, but it doesn't seem polished enough. Maybe it's an engine limitation.. i don't know. The course building is a bit too technical, for some reason i can't even play round of golf, the building creater makes no sense and I cant really follow whats happening with the AI. they just end up doing nothing not…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well for starters, for the life of me I do not understand why this game has mixed reviews. So far, I've had lots of fun with this game, it does have a few bugs related to the AI (like players sometimes never ending tournaments) that could be easily fixed in a future patch, even tho I'm aware that the last content patch was just released. Perhaps a little bit of motivation would get the developer to publish a final patch. Game is fun, there's quite a bit to do, controls are solid. I have not had…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had high hopes for Resort Boss Golf. Maybe too high. What I wanted – wish really – was that this could fill the void left by the lack of Sid Meier’s Sim Golf on Steam or other services. Oh man, that was a great game! This one? A big shrug. This does have a ton of customization. You can create your own buildings – like walls, roof, floors, inside rooms, etc – and every hole can be adjusted. You hire and fire people and try to make money. You can play the holes you create, but in a very…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →crap...just play it and you'll see This game was in no way ready (nor is it now) to leave early access, it's alpha at best with bugs, and lack of features. It feels like the developer basically sold out the game to a publisher that doesn't have the means to fix it themselves and have to rely on the original developer to "volunteer" some of his free time to put out patches that can take up to 3 or more months. It should be avoided.
