Pixeljunk Shooter Ultimate costs EXACTLY THE SAME, contains the base game and adds 3 extra chapters for about twice the length of the original game. Steam should disable the option to buy the original Pixeljunk Shooter and guide people to buy the superior version.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would recommend this game if it wasn't for the simple reason that a better version of it is available on Steam, for the same price, named Pixeljunk Shooter Ultimate. Pros + Easy to pick up, easy to master + Interesting physics for interesting puzzles. + Good looking while easy to run + Doesn't overstay its welcome. Cons - A twin stick shooter with not much shooting. - Levels can take a while and each death takes you back to the start of the screen. - No headscratching levels for…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A short but sweet shooter with a neat premise and a nice art style. The destructible terrain, interesting stage design, and smooth controls really bring this one together well. There's a little bit of an entertaining story to it and the puzzles were enjoyable. Great little shooter game with a fairly cheap price tag!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game: Pixel Junk Shooter Typ: Twinstick shooter (1-2 coop) Short story: Nice game with new ideas, clever mechanics & element based puzzles. Classic twinstick shooter but also physics based action: Water, Ice and Lava are elements that you can use to kill the enemies or clear the path to get to the exit. FEATURES: ■ Single player or coop ■ unique artstyle ■ puzzles ■ great physic engine ■ no violence (good for kids or your GF) Cute twinstick shooter with moderat action. Great COOP…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →PixelJunk Shooter is a 2D mix of exploration, twin-shooting and puzzle game. You control a small spaceship, and in each level, you have to rescue 7 scattered scientists. You must find your way to them, fight some enemies, dodge obstacles and solve some puzzles. It’s hard to explain how it works, but it’s enjoyable. Levels are short, but you only select stages, containing 5 levels each. With 3 worlds, each with 5 stages, that equals 75 levels in total. Plus, at the end of each world there’s also…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good old indie game for those who just want to sit back grab the controler and enjoy your night with friends or kids. Easy to understand and even stream it to your livving room. Fun levels and of course some thinking to do for your brain muscles. I sure recommend it for the good old gamers out there.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun physics twin stick shooter. You go into a mine and need to use your claw to grab miners, diamonds, and clear the way of debris. Multiple types of enemies, three different world with three different types of terrain, and different types of suits that allow you to change your ships attributes. Easy game, fun to play and really good physics as far as the feel of the motion of your ship. This can be played in two player mode, though I can't say that I actually tried it. A must play with a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't buy this - you want PixelJunk Shooter Ultimate. Same price, more content.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great controls/feel. Great couch-coop. Fantastic soundtrack. Nice polished look. Great use and mixtures of elements. Love the scientist-rescues. Highly recommended! One of my favorite games!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very solid rescue/explore twinstick game. Do yourself a favour though and buy Pixeljunk Shooter Ultimate instead - it has all this content and more.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's not terrible, it's just kind of boring and feels a lot like a mobile port. You might get some fun out of it if you buy it on sale, but I can't recommend it at full price.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is very good - I love the gameplay, the graphics and the twin-stick shooter aspect of it. Buy this game instead of the Ultimate version because the Ultimate version frequently crashes.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →8.8/10 - Another Pixel Junk Homerun It seems everything that is done by Pixel Junk is world class. I held off so long buying this at $0.99, but I'm kicking myself now. It's totally different than their flag ship "Monsters" but still brings some of the same great elements. The navigation really impresses me. You have complete control over your spaceship. There are simple physics based puzzles, temperature regulation and other simple but smart things. Everything down to the last detail has that…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Although the game was a bit on the easy side I found it really entertaining and cute. Really liked the fluid physics, animations for spaceship and the art. It was always satisfying to fire dozens of missles for no reason other than to watch the trails of smoke and the explosions.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just so you know what you're getting yourself into; This version only has the first half of the levels from Ultimate, since Ultimate was a combination of this game and it's sequel. The cool remastered visuals are locked to Ultimate. If you really want those, you'll have to go there. This game has local co-op, but if you want access to the (pretty much entirely dead) online versus, you'll have to play Ultimate. So why play this? Why not just go play Ultimate? I'm not sure if this is a…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a good game, but this isn't the version you want. Buy Pixeljunk Shooter Ultimate instead. Ultimate combines this game with PixelJunk Shooter 2 in to one much more comprehensive and challenging package, along with better visuals and UI. If you do buy this version, be aware that: - windowing/fullscreen is broken. The game will play at whatever resolution your screen is. So, if you're playing on a 4K screen with a potato, you'll be... playing at 4K. It's been like this a long time, so…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i would just go for PixelJunk™ Shooter ultimate. almost the same price and this has way less content
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Now this is a fun little gem, it truly is a joy from start to finish... The game is simple to get into, to play and just have a blast with. The controls are simple and quite easy to use which ultimately just adds to the fun of the game. The game has a few nice pro's that really makes it a excellent game to play. You can destroy certain environmental items such as soft terrain, you are able to shoot out chunks of the cave walls making the game even more appealing, it is always nice to see…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I normally do not like twin stick shooters but I really fell in love with this game. The controls are tight, the fluid puzzles are fun and there are a lot of easy to see ways to better your score after a single playthrough.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is a somewhat simple action space platformer. The interesting part is the somewhat destructible environment where you can strategically destroy stuff to help your goal. It is an interesting gimmick worth to experience.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Loved this on PS3, nice to be able to play it on PC as well, only issue is that the music playback is bugged which is a real shame because it's normally really dynamic and well done.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →loved playing this on Ps3. Glad its on steam now
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a perfect game, and the soundtrack is one of the best electronic OSTs I've heard in a long time. It stands on its own as an album for sure. Especially the song "Hidden Foto Banks". Give that a listen But buy PixelJunk Shooter Ultimate instead. It contains this game, plus Part 2, both with enhanced graphics (even though I prefer the look of the original version).
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A physics-based twin-stick expedition shooter up with incredible elemental manipulation that is extremely enjoyable, unique, satisfying, and a joy to experience from beginning to end. Positive: - Being tasked with rescuing marooned scientists on a hazardous planet is fun, harking back to '80s and '90s classics that pioneered the salvage operation shooter subgenre. They will wave their arms in distress, clamoring for salvation, enduring dangerous situations. - Environments in each and every…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a 2D "maze swimmer" style game where you fly a spaceship thing into caves and rescue stranded spacemen. Rescue all the spacemen and shoot the evil baddies to move to the next level. Weirdly, despite coming from shovelware purveyors (they admit it in their own name!) "Pixel Junk", this is not a pixel game, it's low poly/2D style. Anyway, it's all irrelevant, the developers superseded this game with "Pixel Junk Shooter Ultimate" which costs the same, but they left this on Steam…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Extremely mediocre. You run it once, play for an hour, then quit and uninstall.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Neat physics based twinstick shooter
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TL;DR: Takes a minor amount of skill, almost a fluid physics puzzle (every level felt the same solution but slightly different order), mediocre "story" attempt, very low stakes, basically a repetitive children's game. But charming enough for me to play all the way through. And cheap enough on sale for me to not refund. Nice 5/10.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For any Linux users wishing to try it, be warned that this game doesn't seem to work, I ran into issues like [url=http://steamcommunity.com/app/255870/discussions/0/666826069112757759/]link and [url=http://steamcommunity.com/app/255870/discussions/0/2592234299527367213/]link that makes the game unplayable.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I used to play this all the time on PS3 with a friend of mine. It definitely still holds up (even in singleplayer) as a good physics puzzle game, as well as a twinstick shooter. Movement could be considered a bit sluggish, but to me it's not that big of a deal. For its price, I'd say it's worth a purchase even if you have just a slight interest in doing so. You'd be surprised at how addicting it is.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Strangely addicting. Always had me coming back when the internet was kaput, until i completed it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The overall difficulty of the game I would say is below average (it's up to you whether that's a good or bad thing) and it really needs to be played with a controller. It's heavily focused on achievements and there is a lot of variety in the levels, it never feels repetitive. Thoroughly enjoyable 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Semi-mindless shooting, floating around trying not to hit walls, various puzzle solving aspects. Add to that, a truly great retro feel that inspires nostalgia. <3
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game means alot to me, especially because i've had it on my PS3 for so long. It's such a hidden gem. Not enough people have checked this game out. It's a very unique kind of game. Its graphics have held up incredibally well due to its 2d art style. Not to mention that if its vector graphics work the way I think they do then it literally looks better as time goes on. The gameplay is really fun, and I can't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stop coming back to get that one gem I missed (The games main collectible) I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've played this through (mostly co-op with a buddy via remote play but with some solo replays to mop up gems, secrets etc) and it's been really enjoyable. It's a nice cavern-set twin-stick shooter/light puzzler with some nice fluid and physics/environmental elemental aspects to toy with, as you deal with and manipulate water, ice, magma, gaseous masses etc. You navigate your way through caverns, rescuing stranded scientists, looking for gems and being "diplomatic" with the planet's natives…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cool game for local co-op. Playing around with elements is fun and the physics are solid. You will have to plan your movement and direction of shots instead of spamming bullets and kiting like a madman. Better than expected.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really good take on the shoot 'em up genre! It mainly features elements physics simulation, turning the game half action shooter half puzzle game. The music is really unique and cool. Really fun and satisfying game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fantastic local co-op. My son and I wish there were more.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →RANDOM STEAM GAME I look all over Steam for random / unknown Steam games to play. This was one of the chosen titles this week! If you'd rather watch than read, you can do so here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TBSwx5QF1sk [Thoughts and First Impressions] I went into this game 100% blind (and I know I am way late on this considering that it came out in 2013 but here we are). In Pixeljunk Shooter you control a small craft and have to puzzle your way through each set of stages and rescue…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it's one of those good ol' arcade games - Well made, simple design and simple mechanics constructing pleasurable puzzles (of sort) with a nice soundtrack. You fly about, rescue the little dudes in yellow and manage the flow of the fluids...be it water or lava...totally physics based so it can get a bit stressy at times but overall a great game for evening play or sleepy sundays!! i love it...it does what it does very well! 8/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I guess the closest genre is puzzle/platformer, though there are no platforms. This was surprisingly fun. The levels are not overly challenging, though if you want to perfect them you'll end up repeating a few times.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Despite playing this game on PC, the Pixeljunk brand is one I can’t help but mentally associate with PlayStation, largely due to the acclaim it received on the PSN platform all the way back in 2009. I feel the ‘console wars’ of the PS3/360 era were the most prevalent since the SNES/Megadrive days, and I expect this played no small part in an indie game getting heralded as much as this was. It took a year and half to appear on PC in any form and, evidently, another decade after that for me to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a game that rewards and encourages exploration. If it looks like there is a way off screen, that's probably a secret area with the game's main collectable diamonds. Well you need diamonds to progress past a certain stage. You will have to go back and play each stage a few times in order to collect enough hidden diamonds. While it might seem like a downer to replay stages and levels, its all fun. Nothing seems like a chore. Its soothing, relaxing, nice to look at and with the incredible…

So now I'm challenging myself to try a new game for a day, and this time it was PixelJunk™ Shooter The choice was made by [url=https://servc.eu/rsg/]Random Steam Game Picker, which does exactly what it sounds like. Overall impressions PixelJunk™ Shooter is a physics based 2D twin stick shooter, where you play a small ship that shoots its way…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like the smooth gameplay in PixelJunk Shooter. I like the visuals, and how different it is from your typical Twin Stick Shooter games. But I absolutely hate forcing people to explore everything in order to make any progress. Afaik, you can't select and replay one section of the level and pick up missed gem, you need to replay the whole set of levels. It's really anoying if you are missing 1 of these. If you don't mind it, go ahead and buy this game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →https://youtu.be/HjHfI4q2FQI The basic twin stick shooting won't wow any players, but the fluid mechanics and reactions create a volatile mix of fun times, that's even better with a friend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I started this game a while ago, but then stopped because I didn't really get into it. I tried going for all the items, but it was kinda annoying because there are plenty of one hit kills and you have to begin the level from the beginning. The game is not particularly challenging, but you can still die pretty easily if you're not paying full attention, which is kinda hard to do because the levels are not that interesting. Enemies like to pop up from nowhere, some of them spew lava all around,…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Surpirsingly interactive with smooth graphics. Gives some puzzle elements along with some stories. Also has splitscreen, sadly no multiplayer.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not many games try to combine shooters and puzzles. This is a great game to play with a friend
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →play time is a little short but fun to play game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Initially I liked this game…until one day when I started it up, and all my saved progress was just gone. It was as if I had never played at all. Not worth the time to replay the levels I already beat.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is decent but it gets boring very fast.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After beating the spider boss, I played the first few levels of the Fire and Ice part and felt like I was seeing the same thing over again. You can't even progress just by beating the levles..you have to backtrack and collect treasure in order to proceed to the next area. Not much depth or variety.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's not bad, its just really really dull.
