54 of 54 · most liked firstSometimes I wonder if the beatemup developers of today were actually around for the 90s. I keep thinking that they spent the decade hibernating, possibly in some cryogenic sleep-tank. I mean, how could they understand so little? Did they even play 90s beatemups? How is it possible to screw up so badly and not care at all? When I play games like Arson and Plunder: Unleashed, games that are so shockingly bad, that tears of blood stream down my broken and hollow soul, I just want to pluck out my…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Im looking negative reviews and 99% of these people didn't play even 30 minutes, and yet they find themselves compatible of writing review. Such a shame... ok no trolling here ^^ Arson & Plunder is a classic sides scroller 2D beat'em, not that I would called it classic since of beatufil textures and models. Sound has cool rockish music that wont bother anytime soon. Gameplay is fun in SP, its easy to start but, each next stage is harder than one before, you will always encounter new enemies…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Excuse my bad english (greetings from germany) but I decide to not review in my language. So, I bought that game, cause the feedback seemed very good, but... it really isn't my kind of game. Pro: - Nice looking graphics and backgrounds - phenomenal soundtrack Con: - there isn't really any depht to it... you just mash or using screen-clearing magic... it's like a "Dynasty Warriors 2D Edition" without leveling or other interesting aspects - classic Beat Em Up? You just walk forward and kill…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not terrible. Not worth $7, maybe $1 TBH Thought it looked like castle crashers, was kind of let down. It kind of looked like it was slapped together in a couple hours. Cute kids game, but for season veterns you might want to steer clear.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awful game, at first it tempts you with its co-op, without saying clearly that it's only local, battle system at its worst, which is basically a button masher with zero strategy and entertainment. Levels are boring, enemies are boring, bosses are boring, everything is boring. If you want a hack n slash platformer, go for castle crushers or rampage knights instead
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rather simple beat' em up with only a few attacks to choose from and very repetitive nature. Quirky story included. At least it's not that long and somewhat playable. Visuals are ok.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game could probably be a lot of fun. The joystick controls are just awful, so it isn't. A bit overpriced at $6.99
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Boring beat em up with an ok story and artstyle shadowed by the tedious controls and gameplay It doesn't really have any depth compared to other games of the same genre, it's not worth your money let alone your time
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game has a lot of good ideas, but poorly implemented. The first level or two starts out fun, but then you run into random spike traps. No way to see them, no way to aviod them, leads to cheap and unfair deaths. Overall the game is just poorly unbalanced.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The combat is terrible.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It plays and feels more like a mobile game. The character animations are stiff and controls are a little bit clunky. But I could live with all that if there weren't for the game breaking bugs. Sometimes the game would simply get stuck on loading screen, or it would stop scrolling to the right even though all the enemies are dead and new ones are not coming. If you want a good action beat 'em up, play Castle Crashers instead.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Old styled 2d video game. It's almost same as little fighter just with better quality. Overall rating 7/10. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-EGYMA6Ons https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NYi8EXpozmQ
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really wanted to love this game, I truly did. I even slept on it before writting this review. + Love the art style + Blue hair elf with violet eyes - Delay in attacks easily getting you stuck between enemies attacks so you can't do nothing. - Elves highest energy skill requires placement which without pausing enemies a bit to do so makes her so easy a target the skill is useless. - Feels very limited - Story line is bland * Could use more things to break and beat up randomly even if they…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Presentable side-scrolling beat 'em up, with dual character synergy attempts. Fighters go through bite-sized challenges, each with draining special attacks and a limited health pool. Some clunky attack choices, but overall decent variety, if better in co-op than alone.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't let the other reviews trick you into buying this. You'll be stun-locked by cheap attacks, bombarded by self-deprecating humor, and be forced to tolerate badly designed strategies. It looks good but is awful with everything else that can be measured. 3/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not sure who thought to dig up what should have been Capcom's 90's arcade landfill, but they really shouldn't have - awful controls, dull levels, a whole lot to be desired as far as play variety. There's so much out there you can do better for cheaper (all the Golden Axe and Streets of Rage games, the Double Dragon Trilogy for starters) or even for free if you wanna play Dungeon Fighter Online. Just get away from this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mediocre, repetitive gameplay, no thanks
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rock music is cool, visuals so-so, gameplay and difficulty are meh and easy. Really doesn't inspire you to play neither alone or with friends. No matter how I look at this game, it really doesn't bring memory on those great classics form the 90's...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →IDK... I don't think I would tell people to buy this game. It just feels super cheap. I am honestly surprised I finished it, and I doubt I will play it again. Go get Dungeons and Dragons instead. Much better beat em Up style game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Arson & Plunder is an action packed fighting game, that reminds me of the old classic "Golden Axe". With his unique artstyle and several gamemodes as "Survival", to name one of those, this game brings fun and nostalgia to your system. If you wanna remember the old days of gaming in an unique world with love put into details, this game is totally worth it's price Have fun M3TOXI
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Arson & Plunder is a very funny game with a 2D style. It reminds me a lot of the 90's Beat'em'up with an horizontal scroll, so it's a very advisable game for those who like Retro stuff. Also, it's hilarious story and the different mechanics and abilities of the character make them a very good (and cheap) choice! It would recommend it to all who likes to have some fun and laughs. Ah! And don't forget to take your friends with you. The gameplay in Local-coop improves a lot, even if you don't know…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"Arson and Plunder: Unleashed" is a very poor attempt at creating an arcade brawler/beat 'em up (think Vendetta, Double Dragon, Golden Axe, but if they were crap even by 1990's standards). And it's bad... real bad. There's mediocre cartoony graphics, a crap story, and some of the worst gameplay to be inflicted on the old, dead, obsolete genre. The brawling, the core gameplay loop, is very shallow and repetitive... the first couple fights you have are bad... and there's nothing else to the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you can get it for a dollar, it is probably worth it. Mostly because it is quite short. Do not expect it to be good. There is a survival mode if you want more of the jank. Just do not try to master it because your moves root you in place and it is difficult to escape from being surrounded. There are no i-frames. It is about 70 minutes long. The walking speed is so slow you will get hit if you try to move away from an enemy. They have that Goldene Axe enemies' jump attack pattern that is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Arson & Plunder: Unleashed by Chainsaw Syndicate is a colorful throwback to the golden era of side-scrolling beat ’em ups, where brawling through hordes of enemies was the heart of the experience. The game takes a familiar fantasy premise and injects it with a tongue-in-cheek sense of humor and a bit of chaos. You play as two unlikely heroes—an orc warrior and an elf sorceress—who, due to a magical mishap, end up sharing the same body. This quirky narrative twist allows players to switch…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Arson and Plunder: Unleashed is an exhilarating action-adventure that combines explosive gameplay with a compelling pirate-themed storyline. The game’s vibrant visuals, dynamic combat mechanics, and expansive open-world environment create an immersive experience that keeps players engaged for hours. Whether you're battling rival pirates, exploring mysterious islands, or uncovering hidden treasures, the game offers a perfect blend of strategy and adrenaline-fueled fun. Its intuitive controls and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Arson and Plunder: Unleashed pros: //fast game with modern day graphics with easy controls that moves from location A to B to C and so on cons: //a lot of difficult battles //good game Personal Suggested Purchase Price: $0.49 Or Less During Sale

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Arson and Plunder is a 2D arcade/beat-em-up very challenging and entertaining game. Graphically, it's very "cartoonish", something that can sometimes be very different, in a good way. Mechanically, it's easy to pick up. But this time, although I'm not very friendly to controllers, I'm thinking that this time, with the Steam Controller, would be a perfect match. It was a very pleasant surprise.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Keep your hands away from this trash !
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Orc and elf share one form Fists carve through forest and stone Fused, they fight as one
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Can't help, gfx are ok, but the game itself is simply boring.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Controls (movement, attacks, everything) are so bad that it's frustrating, unplayable. You have been warned.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Downgraded version of Golden Axe- exact same playstyle- brawl while you walk. Switch characters. Light on strategy, heavy on action, bland in narrative, although I can see where the developers were trying to be funny. 4/10 Good for the fans of the walk and brawl genre, though it looks like a flash version of a game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →+ Such a cute game! + I'm in love with the soundtracks! + Nice arcade graphics! + 3 Special Skills for orc and elf + Excellent Lore, loved it so far - No leveling - No talents or skills or points - No upgrade system - No point in playing more than once Verdict: 5.5/10 -> Would buy if developers upgrade the game and add an upgrade system that can actually keep the player interested. However, nice and simple story.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →2d brawler. Graphics are pretty cool, gameplay is pretty fun, nothing out of the ordinary and sound is ok. It is what you call, easy to get into and hard to master. You fight in waves.. RECOMMENDED for the money this will cost you.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i only bought this to get the traffic cone emote on steam :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played the first three chapters (out of five). Game deserves mixed reviews. It kind of just sucks. Controls feel very awkward, and (some people may not like this but) there's a reason beat 'em ups are a largely dead genre. Do not recommend.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →https://youtu.be/hfAG8562aaY With a limited enemy pallet the experience quickly runs out of engaging encounters exacerbated by a thin move set for the player characters.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Clunky, slow, and awkward. Lacks any sense of flow needed for a good side scrolling beatem up. Just don't do it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pros: Its easy to pick up and play The graphics are not bad Storyline is pretty unique Controller compatable Cons Controls feel clunky Unbalanced fighting Plunders (A) attack is rather jumpy Arsons (A) attack sucks eggs Not a good example of a 80s-90s beatemup Would suggest only buying on sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tags: Sidescroll Brawler Additional Tags: Delete Local Content & Remove from Library TLDR: Sprites oversized for small screen. Perspective for illusion of depth has flawed execution and looks janky. Objects in foreground obstruct a lot of the background. Dubious balance. The engine looks like something that was designed for mobile. The characters do not look all that balanced with some of them having a focus on ranged and other on melee, and an odd mana system. Enemies immediately crowd you…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice game. Funn to play.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Most of the reviews claim this game is clunky as well as looking and feeling like a mobile port and honestly, they aren't wrong. The combat feels slow, the character feels unresponsive and unruly. Whos bright idea was it to have the jump and attack be the same button? Moron I do admire the game for one thing though, it knows how bad it is as at the end of every mini level the default selection is to exit, that's brilliant.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →very fun.... 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game kind of completely kicks ass. It's challening, and it's the kind of challenging I love in beat 'em ups. It holds you down and hurls hordes of enemies at you and screams "deal with it". If that's your thing, this is your thing.
