60 of 174 · most liked firstplayed this for years , the basic system is fine but after that its AI points dump with combat odds favoring the computer attacks , weather etc to a crazy degree turns it into a puzzle game that can olny be solved by saving every turn and only very limited ways of wining / solving the problem . It begines to feel like a complex rubics cube game of many hours wasted .

More importantly, I've played the OG Panzer General and various expansions for that well before getting this game. The copied campaigns from the original series are great, they operate as expected and do a decent job at what they are, which is modernising an old game. (Note that there now exist many different ways to play the original now with…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is basically Panzer General I remaster, with many Quality of life improvements (Units can now shoot and then later move, heroes were added from Panzer General II which is amazing, now the novelty is also medals, has much more campaigns for each side etc.) and many graphic improvements. Honestly the best remaster of a classic strategy game from my teen years. Cant recommend it enough!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →my favorite game is fun and simple to play and will capture your interests like no other.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Realistic and challenging with a variety of playing options.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Doesn't have fancy graphics and it's old school at this point but it provides very satisfying game play - the game version of comfort food.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a review for the Soviet campaigns. The problems are a) the game itself and b) the Soviet campaign specifically, which doesn't "feel" like the Eastern front. The game isn't bad, just old. Everything it does, Order of Battle's Soviet Campaigns do better. The main issue, predictably enough, is the scenarios are spam fests. Now, this can be mitigated in the options, but only mitigated. The main issue is that you are limited in "unit slots". One slot = 1 unit. The problem is that you are…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A bit dated now and definitely superseded by Panzer Corps 2, however in it's day this was an amazing implementation of the Panzer General in terms of look, feel and game play. Just saw that I racked up over 500 hours on this puppy and didn't even get to finish the full DLC series of linked campaigns. Definitely worth a look, especially if you can pick it up on sale (given that it is an older title)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the definitive ww2 TBS experience for me ! this game is taking you through the fiercest and most brutal battles in human history and does this with exceptional detail from the units to the locations and history behind them . As for the gameplay it is very simplistic yet incredibly deep tactical and strategic combat! you have to weight every decision you make because every decision you make impacts not only the current missions but the whole campaign of your command . you can ask me as…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you played Panzer General (I played over 2000 hours in the 1990s and 2000s this is its successor. Panzer Corps 1 has all the campaigns complete for each year so you can take a core army through the entire war. Fun game totally adequate graphics and lots of content. You can cheat and edit units if you like that. Excellent value if you like hex battles and WW2.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Updated version of a classic game, Panzer General.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played Panzer General 1 & 2 20 years ago and Panzer Corps is definetly the best successor. I will buy it for my 11 yo son and check the PvP too. :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Solid strategy WWII game. What it lacks in flashy graphics it makes up for with superior gameplay.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For old school gamer's from 70's onward who loved the board game Axis&Allies; onwards to the first iteration of personal computers in the 90's with early war games made by SSI's Panzer General I and II, you'll absolutely love Panzer Corps and it's various campaigns and scenarios. You'll play it again and again on different difficulties. I continue to come back to it at least once a year. Excellent value and re-playability.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very nice, close to the panzer general which was a fantastic game. Just waiting for them to release a remake of peoples General that was one of the best games made SSI.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was like rediscovering a lost love from thirty years ago, it's the perfect tribute to the SSI original.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a long time player of Panzer General I + II, I find this to be a great modern successor.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Too bland. Like playing checkers when you want chess when compared to other games in the genre.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Successor to the old Panzer General series. Unit count is too high for my comfort zone, I find it difficult to keep track of what everyone is doing. Otherwise a very good game. Don't fall into the trap of concentrating on tanks, artillery is the queen of battles.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Second life of the Panzer General
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →pretty good game. also keir starmer is a dictator, the uk is totalitarian, the wef is behind it and they will bring new lockdowns and a global economic crash in order to force exclusively digital currency. but the game is good.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Much better than PC2. Runs on toaster and much better maps than PC2, AI, everything really. AI doesn't cheat. Graphics are fine for a game like this.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Excellent reboot of the old PC classic Panzer General, on all levels, with graphics, scenarios and layouts of the battlefields. They've made this much more challenging- maybe too much so in the more advanced campaigns, with it being all but impossible to get that final decisive victory against the Soviets (Prokhorovka '43). Same for the Afrika Korps campaign, with the Gazala assault, which again, seems all but impossible to finish without having your forces gutted. I've played both on the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hard to say I'd "recommend" it, because I'm on the spectrum and this is like a soothing coping mechanism for me. I have played versions of this since the original Panzer General on Sony Playstation in 1996! So, basically I've been playing this game for 30 years. So you can imagine my surprise to see very few people have played this long enough to get the (meaningless) "achievements" Steam insists on games having. I say 'meaningless', but they do tell me not many others find this game either…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Coming from Armageddon (which was based on this), it didn't feel good. I bought the game based on PC2 reviews and for this price it was idiotic to leave it behind... or so I thought. I came back with open mind to see if I like it more this time but nope. Weird crash-but-not popups and freezes where my units move as if I clicked on them (weird stuff but highly annoying) Combat isn't satisfying at all for me. Not just unit movement and combat but also information regarding tiles and modifiers.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Here is your chance to change history.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Highly unrealistic game mechanics alas . Capital ships getting sunk by fighters , heavy tanks destroyed by MG or 20mm armed vehicles , planes staying in the same hex without using fuel etc ... There is far better games from Matrix Games if you're looking for more realistic stuff check their website , for example some Gary Grigsby game :)
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Perfect fit for Steam Deck. I always liked this game, but had a feeling it would be best for handheld, not PC. Previously, it was only available on iPad which I did not own. Lot of fun, I also recommend this gold version, because it has all extensions, that do not have dynamic campaigns. Because in the original campaign, you go from Moscow to conquering USA, which I find stupid. Music here is great, it reminds midi from 1992, very nostalgic, but it seems to be some 3 minutes long loop so after…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A great "Beer & Pretzels" style wargame. Panzer Corps is a blend of Panzer General 1 (visuals, submarines, strategic bombers) and 2 (heroes, surround bonus and move first-fire later mechanics). A lot of campaigns and scenarios. It is possible to play on Steam Deck, but only in Desktop Mode. If black screen is displayed after the intro, press the power button a couple of times to enter and exit the sleep mode. You'll need a mouse. (Edit: works great in Gaming Mode with the latest Proton…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolute bargain. About 200 odd levels that take 30-60 minutes a pop. Crazy good value.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Review from a tabletop wargamer. TL:DR - this game has as much character as bathroom tile. Based on tabletop games, hex based. Every unit has values. When you move one unit into the hex of another, they compare values and roll a die to see who does more or less damage. Nearby artillery units can help by lowering values of other units (suppression) so that your units have a better chance. Aircraft do the same. And unless you really enjoy chess + math, this game gets boring quickly.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gold is an ancient game from 2011. It's a whopping 13 years old at the time of this review. The game lacks support for the typical features of modern gaming PCs, hasn't been modernised or updated to run smoothly on contemporary machines. The game looks and feels dated. Despite this lack of modernisation, it carries a pretty high price tag for such an old game. This seems to have be lingering on Steam with an inflated price to try profit from abandonware. As usual for Slytherine (I really…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's really good and addictive. Panzer General on steroids.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Similar to old school SSI/Avalon Hill board game. Not a fan of the chess approach to combat as weight of fire should matter more but if you want that old War Game feel with a reasonable interface and pieces you can't lose it is an enjoyable time sink.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I loved Panzer General as a child and I love Panzer Corps now. Hex based strategy wargame is exactly my jam.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a classic, not much else to say.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of my favorite strategy games of all time
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Solid game for WWII turn based strategy gamers.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game, reminds me of PG series.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Turn player with realistic results. Love it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've been enjoying my time. worth picking up.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Old game that still plays great.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very addictive. It plays like any normal hexagon game but the dept of units and historic scenarios are interesting so much so that I always come back to play this game despite having other new games to play. I am hooked.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The old Panzer General redone in more up-to-date graphics, and improved mechanics. Developed by a PG fan. Truly even better than the original. Highly recommended for turn-based strategy fans.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →True tactical masterpiece. More history-friendly than sequel.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Finished the German campaign (on easy lol) and the Allied campaign. This is certified my comfort game. It's casual yet challenging at the same time. It can run on potato PC and has a vast range of gameplay. Well for the replay value tbh it's not that much, but I can guarantee you'll never have the same gameplay for each campaign since you can build up your own force. Hence, the game will worth 100+ hours (me myself not finished the soviet and north african campaign, this doesn't include the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I agree with other posts that call this the successor to Panzer General II, an early turn-based strategy game. Panzer Corps is highly playable because of its intuitive interface and gameplay. Although it lacks the glitz and action of modern games, it makes up for that by forcing you to puzzle out your next move. The actions taken on one battlefield will impact what you can or can not do in future engagements. It's these features that have kept me a fan all these years.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's nowhere near as good as the original from back in the day but it's a very playable strategy game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The nearest game that I have found to the ultimate war game: Panzer General11.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Timeless game. I still enjoy playing it and loved its predecessor "Panzer General" as well. Been playing the series since the mid 90's. "Allied General", "Fantasy General", "Star General" and "The Peoples General" - loved 'em all. I was really glad to see the series make a come back with the "Panzer Corps" series about 10ish years ago. The heroes, scripted events and Campaign DLC's were a nice addition. My hours played won't show here but I've got thousands of hours playing all of these…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am more of a turn base gamer which this game is. The only thing I don't like is the air force and it returns back to its original base which does not allow your planes to cover all the battle maps. Once you take new airport you should be able to move to that location to operate your air force.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very, very good. BUT! Go on if you are patient. Every move must be following a good strategical plan that YOU must conceive yourself. Progress is slow and demands precision, something that action games players find VERY boring. So, away with reflexes and readiness for analysis, time to figure out the outcome of every SUCCESSION of moves and their possible effects and consequences. Knowledge of each unit's qualities, weaknesses and terrain influence on movement cost and range is fundamental:…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a blast. This was originally called Panzer General, and I played it on my Pentium 95, 75 MB Toshiba laptop while stranded for work for weeks at a time. I loved this game, and it's great to see it alive here. For newer gamers, this is what it was like, post-Atari days. Before modern stuff. I happen to like a straightforward game with fewer graphical flourishes. This game might be why.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Get it on sale as it is basically panzer general and if you have played that you know what your getting. Love how you can do the year campaign (more battles) and take core units to next campaign year.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its like Panzer General but with extra balls and nicer graphics whats not to like?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you played the old Panzer General 1 or 2 in the past and want to relive those days, this game is exactly what you need. It's very close to the old game, but everything is better; UI, controls, graphics and sound. And the grand campaign... wow, so many levels, so much to do! Absolutely love it! The only little gripe I have is that dice rolls for certain matchups can be very frustrating, but luckily there is an option to just get the predicted results without the (not so) random factor.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoyed revisiting the many hours of fun I got playing Panzer General in the form of this remake. Updates to how the units behave were a wonderful idea that made several of the ones I used to ignore actually useful in this remake. However, the game has exactly the same problem as the original. Decisive victories severely limit the number of boards you can play, and after just 7 decisive boards, the player is teleported from Moscow 1941 -> to the USA 1945. I always thought the original…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is great for those are into WWII. The battles are on actual battles. I have a lot of hours playing it. Les C.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Straight forward mechanics but the strategy can be pretty complex (infantry has it's uses, etc.). There are excellent mods for it and it is very easy to make modifications yourself (if you want more realistic attributes, etc.). Excellent game that is very flexible and surprisingly realistic (when you modify the equipment files).
