I like the music, this game is still challenging. Some of my friends have played the first part of Seven Kingdoms years before. Sure, the graphic can`t be compared to latest high end games. But all other is finest art. For me, this game is a diamond in this genre. This rts ( indie strategic simulation ) part is one of the best games i`ve ever played before. short review: ( positive criterion ( + ) maximum 5 ) - single and multiplayer - no achievements - finally in HD music: +++++ (5/5) graphic:…

I actually helped to create this game as a beta-tester long ago. My main contribution was the random campaign generator and Fryhtans. I even helped write the manual and strategy guide. They named me the Fryhtan Master. One of my favorites. Trevor Chan is amazing as are the people he works with. Was not a big fan of the publisher however...lots of conflict and contractual issues. Glad to see it is still being kept alive.

Seven Kingdoms 2 is my favourite RTS game ever and this HD version added some much-needed higher resolutions. 7K2 originally came out in 1999. When compared to the major RTS game of the time, the Age Of Empires franchise has better quality graphics and more detailed combat with the sheer number of unit types and combat options at your disposal (however in 7K2, you can control multiple nationalities at once, allowing you to use their unit types for war and opening up more combat possibilities)…

It just doesnt work as it says it will, The Game is great I used to play the original back in the day and always loved it, it was never beaten. But this copy is glitchy, the campaigne gets a run error after 2 maps, the widescreen doesnt work (you have to run in a small window) And the in game mouse controls are unworkably slow. seems like they messed it up by updating it.

Seven Kingdoms II was truly a game ahead of its time. While most strategy games of its era focused almost entirely on military conquest, this one offered multiple paths to victory whether through diplomacy, economic strength, or espionage. It encouraged players to think strategically rather than just build armies, making every match feel different depending on how you approached it. The mechanics were remarkably deep for a late 90s RTS. Managing your population’s loyalty, trading with other…

Like detailed game play style. You need to control economy, espionage, technology, army, people, fryhtans. Actually the best strategy serie that I've ever played. I can't understand why they didn't continue development on new versions.

I had the old original one. When something like this get a steam version, you hope it works. First off all, it doesnt work on proton. (linux, steanOS) It Crashes trying to load a map. Every time. You cant really enjoy the campaing on w11 too. Every mission won there a 50/50 it will crash in the world map and softlock you.

I've won this game through steamgifts platform. Fryhtans! Fear! Flee! Fire! Foes! My childhood game. I've spend ages with it and the cherry on top is I hate RTS generally. This one gives hd resolutions to the game, other then that no changes, and it's as it should be, changing masterpiece usually doesn't end well. What I love about this game is: -royal trainable units (transferable between campaign maps) and artifacts -active pause -many nations -maps and campaign is generated, so one can play…

I can't tell you how much I love this game... I have been playing this game since I was 6 years old. I have been playing this game for 18 years... and I still love it and play it. I probably have easily 5,000 hours on this game if not more. This game is probably one of the best RTS games of all time. It has a lot more variety of features, things to do, and play styles than most other RTS games out there. All the meanwhile maintain an easy to learn streamline approach to the game. This is…

Playing on Win10 and game has ran for almost an hour with no issues. Game is meh so far. It's old-school RTS strategy. Which just means build more units than everyone else and attack. There are support towers and other items that would have very much benefited from a hotkey. Instead you have to click around on the map to find them. Feels not a polished as other games. 6/10

Originally had this game on CD, was excited to see this on here so I bought it right away. Don't get me wrong, the original game is amazing and a great time waster, however this "HD" version has a game-breaking "input lag" where even a slight movement of the mouse causes awful game lag. This has been a common issue as I've seen a lot of other complaints of this online, however the developers haven't even tried to help. They suggested some random solution that someone had posted on their forum…

This game has Heros, Demons, Economy, Espionage, Research, Diplomacy, and even Inns to hire new people for your Army. While yes it is technically lacking the traditional RTS build your own towers and walls around a base. There are a few random exceptions to this and other challenges to get around it. I could go on and write more about the game but there are somethings you just need to learn on your own. I will give you this though, right click on some buttons like bribe, grant, retreat..…

Man... I love this game! One of the most entertaining strategy games to date, but not well known from gamers community. This HD version is a rarity! It's amazing how fun is the play system, expecially playing with the Fhrytans, and how balanced and well done is playing with humans. You can summon gods to help you, hire heroes and spyes, use diplomatics in your favour and protect yourself from the biggest monsters out there. Or you could just rip out everything using your magic spells, special…

One of Trevor Chan's greatest games, unfortunately the series was ended after the disaster known as Seven Kingdoms: Conquest. A game with many complex systems that is still easy to pick up and learn, but hard to master: an exact formula few games can master, but Seven Kingdoms does. Espionage can turn the tide of battle, and siege engines light the ground with crimson (and pixely) flames. You make more money than Venice, and summon Thor to smite those who dare invade you. Also you can make an…

Played this before the first game, and it still holds up. Yes, after so many years and even without nostalgia! I remember when I first played it, it impressed me with its depth in espionage, diplomacy, economy, and real strategy. Besides the typical army building, it just engaged me in a fun way with running a complex empire. Outdated in some ways, sure, but still one of the smartest RTS games out there. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3515855674…

**IMPORTANT** Game will not run unless you put it in compatibility mode for an earlier version of windows, and toggle "override high DPI scaling behavior" this must be done in the steamapps folder. That being said onto the review: This is an old-school rts game that is quite different from many of the new ones you play today. That said it strikes a balance between having many of the quality of life improvments that the oldest rts games didn't have, while still feeling like a classic. For the…

It is really great game. I recommend it. This game is fun, espionage, politicks and unlike 1st game, it allows you to play for monsters. :) Game is not that complicated and has simple mechanics, just manage your kingdom. Trying to balance your budget, managing food so your subjects dont starve to death and diplomacy, so your neibours and monsters will not crush you. It does not seem as much, but it is suprisingly entertaining. However, there are few things, which always bothered me about…

The HD edition of this classic game is just beautiful. This RTS of the '90 era is not well known, but it deserves to be in the hall of fame of the best RTS of all the times. At €.10 is probably a bit pricey for a vintage game, but indeed the money is well spent. PROS: - dynamic campaign with the best units carried in the next scenarios - scenario editor - espionage, advanced weapons - simplified but working economy - every soldier can be trained and equipped with powerful objects - if your…

If you played SK2 before and know what's it about: get it! The HD graphics are great and they added a new extra-large map mode, which also brings a nice touch to an old formula. If you never played SK2 before: SK2HD is basically one of the very few strategy games that mixes politics heavily into the fray of warfare. This is a game in which diplomacy counts as much as troop movement. I fully recommend playing with the whole map visible and no fog of war, since this makes the game EXTREMELY…

Having played this when it originally came out, I'm glad to say that this is a faithful rerelease of the game. Everything is as it was with the exception of the graphics which have been properly updated. I have mixed feelings about Seven Kingdoms 2. On one hand I like the expansions and updates to the roster, tech trees, and the game making spies a much more useful tool for achieving victory. On the other hand, I'm still a bit bitter about losing access to water maps. Though, it was probably for the best that they were removed considering how much the AI in the first game struggled to deal with them. After all, it was pretty easy for the player to isolate themselves on an unoccupied island…

Don't be put off by the old-school graphics and animations, this game is one of the deepest and most unique Real Time Strategy games ever made. There is way more here than just gathering resources, building an army and killing everything. You can win with many different non-violent strategies including using spies to overthrow your opponent from the inside. The game has a higher learning curve than others in this genre, I recommend starting with the tutorials first, they are very helpful.

Hoy, nemi I absolutely loved this game in the 90's and it is still a great game. My favorite aspect of this game is policies and espionage. Kingdoms can be bought with gold or blood. Someone declare war on you? Well, wouldn't it be a shame if you already bribed their Generals and their army becomes your army. You will have to manage economy and happiness. If you're about to go broke, remember that you make gold with each enemy unit you kill. Sometimes war is a necessity for…
