30 of 30 · most liked firstI love these types of games, Desperados, Shadow Tactics, Commandos etc. but I can't recommend this one yet, I didn't even finish the tutorial before encountering bugs, the controls are a bit janky, and turning on view cones for enemies kills the framerate. It just doesn't seem as polished as other similar games, so it needs some more work before I could have fun playing it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Controls are not the best. Gameplay is not responsive enough. The tutorial is also not only kinda vague some times on what you should do but it gives you a second char at the start you don't really need and seems overly long and hard (for a tutorial). The setting is nice. There is also not a lot of story in it yet but it is early access so all of these issues might be fixed. Just not a great first impression for me. I would give this game a maybe if steam allowed it but as it is i would say…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Half-baked Early Access. But still a lot of fun. There aren't many games like this out there, and it's great to see some indie developers continuing the genre. Keep up the good work and listen to the community's ideas/reports and suggestions.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is not ready for the "full release". It takes a couple of hours to finish if you rush it, and the story is abandoned abruptly not only without any resolution but also with hardly any build-up to it. One minute the characters are searching for random chests with pieces of an artifact in them, then the player is slapped with a "to be continued" screen which promises continuation at some point in the future. It appears, the developers decided to release the game pretty much "as-is" when…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've always been happy to play games of this genre. I find the level of tactical planning and strategizing in these types of games to be a fun challenge. Frigato: Shadows of the Caribbean was intended to be the same. It was in the same genre and by a small development company. So I was interested in what they were delivering. I am not going to lie, I got a little apprehensive when I saw the reviews for the game, but I still wanted to try it. So let's start with the good things about the game.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Almost a year since release and game is still in tragic state. Looks like it's abandoned project now. My i7 13900 32 GB ram RTX 3660 wasn't enough to make this game be playible. Non-stop lagging and tragic frame drops while mouse-overing items and enemies. Returned after 20 minutes.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unfinished. Technically and content wise.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's basically a clone of Commandos, desperados or silent storm, except its with pirates. Its nothing special, the controls feel clunky and the characters are nothing special. The gameplay is exactly what you expect but i am more nostalgic than enthusiastic to play this. The game itself needs a lot more work, it's just the framework now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKGWggC6VR8 Sadly, it's biggest flaw is the simple gameplay loop and the lifeless graphics(or in 1 word:bland), sometimes i…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Warning: If you don’t feel like reading the furious ramblings of an enraged duck, just read this one sentence — this so-called game crashed three times in 20 minutes, forcefully restarting OBS. On the fourth attempt, which barely allowed me to record a 4-minute video, it crashed again — this time rebooting my entire PC. Right. I’ve played a lot of bad games over the past 35 years. Ugly ones. Boring ones. Unoptimized messes. Bug-filled disasters. Half-finished junk. But I hadn’t stumbled upon…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the game crashes hundred times in 30 minutes , Although I am running it on a super computer
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Controls are poor, switching characters doesn't move the camera to the selected character
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If there was a option to wait and see id select that. But for now.. its a no for me. Solid game, Does not deserve the hate. BUT... It prop should have been left in the oven a bit more to meet a solid EA game. Its hard to know that point, but its def not ready for pubic play. The price point is also steep for what the game currently offers.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is in early access so still has a way to go, but I really like the theme and the work that has gone into it so far. If you're a fan of the genre I recommend playing it. If you're a fan of pirates I recommend playing it. If you're a fan of racoons you're in for a treat. Updates and fixes are being applied regularly so I'm confident this will be a great game when they go gold.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Frigato is a real time strategy game with pirates. The game is now in early access, and with it, some problems arise, as expected; the controllers are very unresponsive and at times, hard to understand. The initial mission, that acts like a tutorial, is harder than it should. So hard in fact I couldn't beat it. As stated, the game is an incredible idea, and will be an absolute recommendation, given a few patches, but, at the moment, I can't recommend it. If you want to check how it runs on…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A pirate stealth game sounds like a great idea. Unfortunately, clunky controls, bugs and frustrating gameplay sink this ship before it ever gets going.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game concept is the best !!! But there are many bugs which make me feel annoy, bro !! just try to fix those bugs. For example: when I meet the second character first time, I didn't knock out the soldier, it triggers the video of their convention, then the soldier alarm and kill me :v it happens many times :v or If I go to main menu while the first and the second character are talking, then go to "continue". It's stucked ! Good game, but need to fix many bugs. you should add subtitle, too…

Pros: - Unique Pirate Setting: The game's setting and atmosphere are well-crafted, providing a distinctive pirate theme that includes interesting characters and environments. - Creative Character Abilities: Characters like Sir Deermouse, who can remain…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →sadly the game wants you to let it get in your computer for collecting data for the developers to help further fixes of bugs etc non the less the game since i bought it did not change it has bugs and crashes in times ... i miss the times when the people that did games and sell them where proper makers and sold a solid one even if it had some bugs it was 1000 times better than today standarts and they did not asked you for anything when they fix something did not ask for any extra money ,…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Since it's still developing, it would be more accurate to give a "neutral" rate, instead of "yes" or "no". Althoug I have no report of bugs in my first hundred minutes playing this early access (just one time the enemy saw me through a pile of boxes even crouched within the stripes of his eye sight, I did the print screen), there are some issues to report and feedback the developers: - It's really hard to pick up objects, as the bottle and the knife, because the point to connect with is very…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A disgrace to the game industry ! Not worth a penny! Bad bad bad.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Like Encased, Desperadoes, Shadow Tactics of the Caribbean.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The screen turns black and unresponsive when I click on the load or save menus. I wonder how the developers managed to miss that.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played the demo. I even left very enthusiastic feedback on Steam forums. I was super eager to play this and finally found time in my backlog. I'm terribly sorry, something must've gone really wrong here. Demo played perfectly and I loved it. Now I have even more powerful PC and game lags on mouseover on enemies, barrels etc. Framerate drops to 1FPS, but at the same time CPU and GPU usage drops to 5%. I tested also on different PC and it behaves the same. I wanted to play this so much. I don't…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Frigato: Shadows of the Caribbean is an ambitious real-time tactics and stealth game that takes the familiar structure of squad-based infiltration and gives it a colorful pirate identity. Developed by Mercat Games and published by FreeMind S.A., it places players in command of a mismatched crew of sea rogues operating during the golden age of piracy. Rather than concentrating on naval combat or open-world exploration, the game focuses on carefully navigating hostile locations, studying enemy…
