The world is ending and you have to find your lover, a mortal named Icarus. A slight detour: In the Greek mythology Icarus was a guy whose dad built him wings out of feathers and wax and warned him not to fly too close to the Sun; then he basically died. Nyx can fly and soar for short distances. She has to avoid environmental…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →NyxQuest is a great puzzle platformer. Sure, there are better looking games out there, but I like the style and the setting. I do admit they could've used more detailed textures, but it's a Wii port, so I can't really complain. Other than that, I can't really tell you much more about it. You have the ability to fly to get to higher places and during the game you earn extra powers so that you're able to move big statues and blocks for example. There's a bug that prevents the game from saving, so…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Meh. The graphics and music are nice. The level design and gameplay are lacking. Every new mechanic is presented over and other again in repetative, nearly identical scenarios. The whole affair feels like a tech demo or a console launch game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very Good puzzle platformer with a awesome greek god theme. great
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wow, i can't believe this game hasn't been reviews. It is an excellent platformer/puzzle game and you should give it a try! I have copies for all the kids as well.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A puzzle platformer that starts out a bit too simple and starts getting repetetive during the latter parts of the first hour until it starts switching things up by giving you more varied powers and obstacles. The setting is a post-apocalyptic version of ancient greece which is something you don't see every day. The graphics and music are both fairly simple but they stay consistent and work for what theyre meant to do. Overall an alright game, pretty short.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's an ok but forgettable platformer that doesn't do anything special.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wasn't a fan. My biggest gripe, which you will think is insignificant until you've played it all the way through, is the spawn system. You die and restart from your last checkpoint then for a few seconds you can't jump or glide. This leads to quick deaths and frustration if you do get stuck. It lasts about 2 hours with the main game but it also has collectibles you can go back and get so there is some replayability but nothing changes. I'd recommend it middle of the road, if you want a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →NyxQuest features a Greek mythology setting/story, and you control both the main character, Nyx (who has limited flying and gliding abilities, which form the basis of the platforming side of things), and the 'hand of Zeus' with which you assist her by throwing blocks around and such forth (oh yes, bow down before the awesome block-moving powers of the Father of the Gods!) It's a fairly relaxed kind of platformer, without any pixel-perfect jumping required (thank goodness), and I found the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This video game has the most broken and insulting save system I have ever seen in my life. First of, there are no manual save options. Secondly, auto save checkpoints are extremely scarce and few in between. But the biggest middle finger is this - if you quit the game after reaching an autosave near the end of a level, next time you boot the game, you'll be thrown IN THE VERY BEGINNING OF THE LEVEL!!! Yeah, I'm not kidding - the game ignores autosave checkpoints. So, basically, autosave points…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →NyxQuest is a basic puzzle platformer where you fly/glide a pixie across Greek lands on a quest to find Icarus. You get a few very simplistic powers like lightning. wind control, and the ability to move certain objects. There is a story, but it wasn't worth remembering. The music was the highlight of the game. There wasn't much else to really get excited about and I expected a little more. I'd say it's an okay dollar menu game, but you wouldn't be missing much by skipping it. Note: I was not…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice and challenging puzzle platformer. Originally released on Wii-Ware, this one offers high res graphics and fun to play. Plus it got some of the most challenging, yet not frustrating achievements out there. Check it ou! The dev deserve support :D
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've played NyxQuest 7 years ago on iPad but it started to charge after I gained all achivements and deleted the game. Months and years after I couldn't remember the name of it since I was totally a child then. The only thing I could recall was Nyx, which became part of my nickname. It was soooo surprised and moved to discover it on Steam 7 years later and the happy moments seem yesterday.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game starts really dull and simple but as you go on the adventure the puzzles and the platforming becomes more complex. The story is pretty cliché but which one isn't? I Love seeing the main character going aganst the gods to get her beloved. This game is a clear example of how to make progression in a game and avoid making you too powerful. BUY THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The started off as very fun, but later became very stale, slow and not fun at all. Besides, it crashes too often.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An iPad conversion, which kinda shows, although I bet it's much easier with a mouse than with my great fat fingers all over the screen. Not exactly a lot going on, and very basic presentation, but some neat level design, especially the Helios level. It passed a couple of hours well enough.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I beat this game... and have almost no recollection of it. I don't recall disliking it per se, but my almost complete lack of memory of it is not a good sign. There's just SO MANY INDIE PLATFORMERS out there. I'm tired of them. I have almost no interest in platformers anymore.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is very unique. It's a hate it or love it game. I loved it. Features achivements, including speedruns. This game is more puzzle/platformer. However, you don't really have any attacks through the entire(almost) game. Overall: 8/10(but i'd give it 9 for creativity)

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →10 #NINTENDO #WII #VIDEOGAMES TO TRY 9. NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits (2009) This platformer was one of the WiiWare standouts and has a very interesting asynchronous 2-player mode where one player controls god powers. The distinctive Ancient Greece-inspired visuals make this one memorable!

unlabelledView post →I was strangely obsessed with NyxQuest for a while. I even have a physical PC copy which somehow came with a fancy cardboard cover despite being a small WiiWare game. Also I want a rerelease of My Life as a DarkLord.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awesome OST, nice graphics, literally painful controls, playing this game for a long time hurts your fingers, controller support would be great for the jump'n' run sequences.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very nice cheap game, thumbup.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A pretty cool side scrolling platform adventure game quite similar to Deadlight. Isn't that challenging and won't take long to complete but has nice graphics and music. Worth the few hours spent on it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the most underrated platformers on the Steam platform. If you have not done it yet, try the demo for yourself. It has Zen like feel to it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You're like a female Icarus who... tries to find Icarus. It's a nice little platformer.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Probably the best indie game I've ever played. Climatic music and graphics, great gameplay... one of my best purchases of indie games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great platformer with a nostalgic feel to it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its just a cool 3D puzzle sidescroller. Worth it if you like that sort of side scroller with physics puzzles. Only takes 3 hours to beat, so pick it up on a steam sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another stunning platform-jumper! This game is taking you to the whole new fantasy-world with many new adventures! Use your brains to clear out all the stages and recieve the victory!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Excellent physics-based platformer with challenging and unique levels, as well as a length that fits the gameplay well, a la Portal. Only once in the entire thing did I get frustrated enough to stop, and that turned out to be my own damn fault, not the game's. Wonderful.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a game you grab on a whim and complete in a night, then never come back for. It is only good for about 5 hoursof play. I wouldn't pay more than $10 for it. But those 5 hours are going to be beautiful and inventive. Fair warning: the savegame feature will leave you stranded somewhere, unable to continue and unable to die, forcing you to start the ENTIRE level over.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty fun lil platformer, couple hours 'o entertainment. ... farking eyeball level is evil.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Did not resist the test of time. Freed from Wiiware but there are better platformers to play out there.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I feel like this is one of the first games I bought on steam. I suppose I never reviewed it because I never finished it. Part of the reason for that is that after not playing the game for a while i'll load it up again and i'll have no save game there. I think this is my 4th or 5th time restarting it. maybe i will finish it this time? There's a lot I like about it. It's theme reminds me a lot of Kid Icarus. But i was terrible at that game. This game i'm also not great at, mostly because…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short and sweet, very enjoyable, the physics of objects can feel a little odd at times, but otherwise it's such an inventive and clever game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i love this game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Used to play it on the tablet. Playing with mouse and keyboard instead of tactile screen is kinda difficult at first. Music is as amazing as I remember it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Beautiful and clever.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolutely loved this game when I played it on WiiWare, and this port onto the PC is also great, especially with the better textures :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Beautiful art style combined with tried-and-true platforming mechanics.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this is a cool interesting platformer with some very nice level design that you don't see very often in video games. the game is based in some sort of ancient greece kind of setting where ♥♥♥♥ has gone down and the world has become a wasteland. The game is kind of short and shouldn't take more than 4 hours to be honest , ( and can be finished a lot quicker if you know what your doing). However what nyx quest lacks in quantity it makes up with a quite high level of quality. Nxy quest did…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The first time I saw this game was several years ago on the wii shop channel, I was rather surprised to find it on steam, let alone for only about 3-4 bucks CAD. The gameplay itself is simple enough to understand and rather easy to get used to- it's a sort of puzzle platformer that can be enjoyable for people like myself who don't really like having too many difficult puzzles- the puzzles are there, and they require a bit of thought, but are still rather casual and easily enjoyed. (except for…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing art style? Check. Greek Mythology inspired? Check Unique approach to platforming? Check. Piss poor price that even homeless people can afford? Double check. Requirements that would fit the 90s more than today? Check Basically, what you're getting here is a game which is very underrated and that many people don't know of, but that shouldn't be a reason as to why you shouldn't try it yourself. There's not much storyline, but Greek Mythology makes this an enjoyable experience that any…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Every other game is trivial compared to this. I am possessed by the charm of this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good visuals and music. Puzzles are pretty easy. Horrible save mechanic - you can only load at the begining of each level, it doesn't matter if you have already gone through 95% of it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Kind of physics based precision platformer where you control your hero (Nyx) with keyboard and alter enviroment with mouse (at the same time). It is a great concept/idea and it's charming, but execution is rough and has not aged well.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits is a captivating puzzle-platform adventure that draws heavily from Greek mythology while delivering an experience built around exploration, environmental puzzles, and graceful platforming. Developed and published by Over the Top Games, the game places players in the role of Nyx, a winged heroine who embarks on a dangerous journey to find her missing companion, Icarus. Rather than relying on lengthy dialogue or cinematic storytelling, the narrative unfolds through the…

unlabelledView post →A hidden gem. This is a port of an old WiiWare game. How odd to find it ported to Windows but seeing how it controls, it makes total sense. The filler plot is that you are Nyx and you have to find Icarus, that's it. There's a couple of cutscenes about ancient Greece, but nothing crucial. The game plays as a classic 2d platformer across 12 levels + 1 secret level if you find all 20 hidden relics. You can jump and glide at first, but more powers are unlocked as you progress including…
