Grindy Achievement(s): Yes (~3 achievements that take ~0.3h to finish). Optional Achievement(s): Yes (6 achievements). Pros: - A lot of levels…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →NightmareZ - very dynamic platformer in the style of Super Meat Boy, but only with a weapon The game has many levels not similar to each other on the structure, all varied, and for each needs its own approach. The gameplay understandable without any tutorials. We clean the the level of enemies, collect coins along the way, we pass to the next level. At the end of some levels will be bosses. Classic! Good graphics Done! Good music. Done! A variety of levels. Done! Bosses. Done! Achievements.…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Warning: Rage reaching critical levels Story You play Razor, or RaZoR as it is mostly written in the game, who is a demon set out to save his family. When you come in, a Dooms Day has already started with the residents of Hell on the loose. In fact, it has been five years. Five years since his family was taken. Five years of trying to restore human to their rightful place. While NightmareZ advertises as a story driven game, it has a basic story that it really does not come into place till…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →https://youtu.be/hkIjytWGQsw Constantly spinning a nearly uncontrollable speeds is no way to get through life kids. When the world is plunged into darkness by demons a demon who isn't so cool with darkness but wears a cool hat decides to fight back against the demons by twirling in the air. The core criteria for making a platformer game of any style is how the player character controls. For 'NightmareZ' that character control is at best greased frustration. The lack of animations shows…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →NightmareZ is a side-scroller that has adopted elements of all the genre's past successes with some definite nods to Mario and Sonic. I've seen other reviews compare it to Super Meat Boy, but aside from some blades and drop tunnels, I'm not seeing how they are related. The game utilises keyboard controls, and after the first couple of minutes I was really wishing for at least a partial controller option. It takes a bit of knack to get the controls to operate how you want them to, and even then…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Same as this devs new game (Keatz: The Lonely Bird). Have bugs, looks amateur. In the objective list there are 3+ things, but usually only one is an objective (usually "collect rings"), the others are hints. This is more than amateur, man! Some sound-effects sounds weird (mission start button, the sound-effect when You die, etc.). The game is boring and not just looks, it feels unfinished/amateur too. At least the controlling is not as bad as in the new game. Also, crashes after quit too (like…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not really good. Game's got a retro shareware-ish "charm" to it so I was curious, but the gameplay apparently is just "collect all those shiny thingies in this level". Levels are poorly designed and boring. First level even left me trapped and I couldn't figure out what to do until I killed myself and noticed that I had skipped a collectible. Controls are.... really weird. They're okay, but you more super fast left and right, it feels really unnatural, Overall I just don,t see any appeal to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played for maybe an hour and enjoyed it apart from the audio (new update version will fix this) From a first time indie developer and game this i would say is better than 50% of the stuff that has been greenlight approved. Fasted paced side scrolling platform game and it delivers. It's still a work in progress where the dev has said next version will have the audio sorted along with a few other updates to get it to a polished game. My review of the game can be found here.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun little game, needs a bit of work to make it a little bit better but the base is solid. Once you get the hang of moving around it's actually pretty fun. It's not physics based so you can move left and right all you want when up in the air which makes for some interesting gameplay.

Game audio is really loud and has no ingame option to change it. The gameplay seemed repetetive but I only finished the first two levels.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →NightmareZ, developed and published by Anamik Majumdar, is a side-scrolling action platformer that draws heavily from older generations of arcade-inspired game design while delivering a darker fantasy adventure centered around combat, exploration, and demanding gameplay. Built with clear inspiration from retro action titles, it embraces challenge as one of its defining qualities. Rather than prioritizing accessibility or heavily guided progression, NightmareZ focuses on rewarding patience,…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →NightmareZ is a retro 2D pixel platformer/action game that feels like it's a template flip or it's been slapped together lazily with a video game construction kit. They chose to use obsolete retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. Resolution and controls are locked. These flaws push this game far below minimum acceptable…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not as much fun as Knock-Out Daddy (the game that everyone knows). It controls like... actually it doesn't... at all. Tries to be sonic, if sonic had a crippling addiction to methamphetamines and nerve toxins. Personally I think the full RETAIL price is abhorent BUT if you can get it in some sort of bundle for say $30 with ~20 other game then I'd say go for it. Overall 4.20/1000 (Blaze it, and by that I mean burn your copies)

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Terrible, boring gameplay made worse by unresponsive jumping and a 10-second music loop. I wouldn't recommend this garbage if it was free.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awful platformer. Bad MS Paint visuals =/= retro visuals.
