If you take this game seriously, you're doing it wrong. The music is good and the art style is fitting. One gripe, the game almost requires a controller to play. The game will only let you move in four directions with the keyboard, so good luck beating the game. If you have a console controller, it is worth every bit of that…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this game thinking it was exactly like Air Zonk on the Turbografx-16. On paper it is, but something is missing... Fun. Vaves of enemies consists exactly of the same enemy, all shades of grey... Grafics are dull and washed out... Music is generic... Enemy patterns are non existent... Nope... I label this one "the game that tried". Avoid.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I literally hate this game. I made it to the final boss and just had enough before beating it. Why can I play bullet hell shmups like Touhou for hours and yet can't stand this game for more than an hour and a half? It boils down to the health system the game uses. This game treats enemies passing the left side of the screen as a decrease in hit points, which is fine; it's not the first time that idea has been used in a shmup. The problem is the enemy design. Because the player character has no…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good shoot 'em up. The graphics are sharp (and look cool), it reminded me a lot of Alien Hominid. The game itself is, like I said, pretty good but straightforward. You just press and hold Space to shoot, ocassionally press X to use your powers and Control to grab bigger enemies (and press Space some more). The goal is to keep enemies from flying past you. If you let 50 pass, it's game over. If you can keep them off you're awarded a medal. So nothing groundbreaking. However, I wish there was a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Taking everything that is fun about shooters, and mixing it with crisp looking graphics and solid gameplay, 'Who's That Flying?!' will make make you love the genre all over again. With a quirky storyline straight out of a dimestore comic book, this game is filled with win. You are invincible, but the world around you is not. Don't let the doom beasts past or the city (and your ultra egotistical image) will be hurt, and there is only so much they can take. At budget price, with substance out the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm more of a wannabe developer than a hardcore SHMUP player, but Who's That Flying had me striving to get better. The theme fits the mechanics well. An invincible avatar fends off invaders before they can pass into the populace. It's less about dodging bullets than shooting or bashing through targets. While the special move limitations are explained away with a character flaw, it works. Options are limited. There is no windowed mode. Keys can't be adjusted within the game. Xbox 360…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Who's That Flying?! short for WTF. This game is so fun and delicious plus it is nightmare for the players. This is game of the week for me. More sequel please! S0YxSauCe's overall score : 9/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →sadly, boring as hell. 02/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Reminder of good PSP games from 2010.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really fun, more fun than I thought it would be.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As the mysterious and powerful "Guardian of Earth" your steely eye and HYPER-POWERED LASER ARM have kept the citizens of Earth safe for generations (as well as proving a hit with the ladies). With all your awesome TALENT and FLAIR, surely it would be IMPOSSIBLE for a devastating invasion of Doom Beasts to descend on your cities and cause havoc without your knowledge? (Even if you were MAYBE showboating for a magazine photo-shoot at the time...) Now, you must not only defend your cities from…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun little shoot-em-up with some interesting finishing move mechanics as well as "super-saiyan" type of attacks. The main character looks a lot like Ultraman o_o.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is pretty fun, low price, nice graphics, unique gameplay but lacks of variety (no power-up items, only has three types of enemies per stage), very short game, easy to finish, hard to perfect. So, if you love shmup, add this game to your collection.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →-Totally simple and repetitive graphics -Lame humor -stupid little extras and..... FUN AS HELL highly recommend this game, for the small fee they're charging its totally worth it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →2D Flying Shooter, from left to right, kinda light Gradius and such, but not anywhere as fun or interesting. I played this like a milenia ago and i played through it once and got bored rather quickly. It's obvious this game was made in flash, by mechanics and looks, which i am not too much of a fan of.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unplayable. Tick rate is connected to framerate or clock speed so everything runs at 10x speed. Many report the same issue.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a bird! It's a plane! No, just my sanity
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Extremely funny and entertaining Shmup. The only problem I see it is that it's too short, but it's worth if you can get it with an offer or in a bundle
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its tooooo faaasssttt D:
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Way too manic, stupidly pointless and somewhat broken flash game. Not worth a single cent.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →suicide enducing game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lacking most of the basic options you'd expect (resolution, control rebinding etc)
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun for a short time - but then it's really boring. The same levels and enemies, more and more of them... it has its humour in cutscenes, but that's all. 3/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Was an awesome game on a friend's machine, but is UNPLAYABLE on mine. Some bug exists which causes the game to be far too fast on faster video cards or at higher refresh rates (or whatever the heck it is). The suggestions on the forums to set VSync didn't work for me, nor did using frame limiting of something like DXTory. Don't purchase unless the developer fixes this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bland. Very bland. I thought it would play like a modern Darius Gaiden, but I was sorely mistaken. Pass on it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a shmup (side scrolling) that looks like it's been made in Flash. It's not retro-pixel styled, which is about the only good thing going for it. Controls are oversensitive and don't seem to have been optimised for keyboard. There's no graphics settings to speak of. What's worse, if you have a 4K monitor it will display with incorrect DPI settings... disabling that for compatibility makes the game run both pillarboxed and letterboxed in the middle of the screen. If the developers…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a very fun game for a low price. Nothing ground breaking, but enjoyable. It's worth it a full price. Even better on sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a very funny and creative game. Its definitely worth it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You fly , you shoot things , things go boom . Fun game !
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice concept and art style but unfortunately the game is riddled with long loading screen and certain unresponsiveness that diminishes the experience.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →2/10 - Boring and repetative!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I rather enjoyed this game. Just an old school 2D flying game with a few quirks. A bit short - at 90 mins I had already beat the game Silver/gold score on all levels and beat several of the challenge levels (not all.) I played with a 360 controller - I recommend this game with a controller, without it - perhaps it would just make you upset. This game is basically a super flash style 2D shooter. I had a blast, although shrot one. - P.S. The big laser makes you feel all funny inside. :-D
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its fun, easy, and a light hearted game. great for all ages. 6.5/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cheap, Funny, Fun, Classic FKing goodness well worth 6 bucks!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really like the art style, the Hero, and the cute simple story. But the game play is a mess. I am glad this studio went on to make Fall guys but this is just not fun.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So while I did beat this game and had an ok time, I wouldn't recommend. It has a lot of punishing mechanics that make 100% clearing levels with the highest score really tedious. Because making a single mistake can make you lose control of your character, multiple mistakes will be soon to follow as it makes it awfully punishing. Overall, the story was goofy and it reminded me of playing flash games on Newgrounds but I'd try other bullet hell shooters before this one.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A rather mediocre PSP scroll shooter. Little to no variety and unappealing flash vector graphics.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Horizontal shooter with an invasion theme. Focus on chaining. Fun grab and execution mechanic. Cute comic style presentation and graphics. Gameplay and audio can get a little repetitive. Listed on the [url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/40858110-Shoot-%2527em-up-Database/]Shoot 'em up Database
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"Ladies and Gentlemen, WTF is WTF?" RIP TB
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like the art, but idk, I just can't get into the game. Compared to other side scrolling shooters on Steam, it's just not that great.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →https://youtu.be/6E5Mm_8z-vY The tongue-in-cheek superhero story setup pushes to hard without earning the player's interest, while the gameplay is simple Shoot-em-up scrolling with limited actions resulting in too similar levels.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Same game mentality as the Nokia brick phone's game. Buy if you literally have nothing to do.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Whilst the gameplay of this superhero themed, side-scrolling shooter is fun enough, it's actually the awesome cutscenes that steal the show. Worth the price of admission for the laughs you'll get out of those alone.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →fine for the dollar i spent, but far too basic and lacking options for me to suggest it to a friend.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Definitely a fun little, short shoot'em up good for a couple hours with a funny little sense of humor in between levels. Much more entertaining than I thought it'd be. Nice controls and action, and I had no trouble playing with the keyboard. The game does get progressively more challenging, but never overly so and never felt like grinding away doing the same thing over and over. At the end I was thinking "that was hard enough" though :-) Certainly worth catching. 8/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Interesting twist on a shmup. Instead of "lives", you have a quota of enemies to keep from slipping past you. As you let more and more aliens get by the cityscape in the background gets more and more destroyed. My only major problem with the game comes from the fact that you're invincible. It makes the game seem too easy. The reason you get good at a Bullet-hell shmup is to survive and advance in the game. If you mess up, you die and the game ends. When you get good at WTF, you get…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is unplayable. It's play speed appears to be based on the frame rate, which is not limited, so it is essentially unplayable on my system. Ever try to play the arcade game in Final Fantasy VII on a PC before they patched it. It's that bad. This was a complete waste of money.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is about as clever as its name would suggest...and about as boring as you'd expect. 3.5/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun, fast, action-packed and brutal - for so little, you can get so much fun. Get it, it's worth the investment if you like hard but fair shoot-em-ups with real difficulty and timing required.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game runs too fast, no time to enjoy it. Better and more entertaining shooters out there.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →troll comedy shooting game flashy effect... or maybe too flashy... I recommend for the fun !
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great shooter, pretty much one of the best games you'll get for five bucks. Buy this! Now! ;) Pros: Great cartoon graphics, funny storyline, easy gameplay, chalenges that keep you playing for hours after you finish story mode. Cons: Short game, no character customization, hardcore gamers may find this too easy.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Full review: https://thegamehoard.com/2025/05/02/picking-up-steam-whos-that-flying-pc/ The city protection angle of Who’s That Flying?! makes for an interesting horizontal shooter but not a particularly deep one, because while taking out every little Ravager that comes your way is key to keeping the world safe, your own attacks are often a bit too good at repelling those simple foes. It’s not that tough to keep them at bay much of the time, but at least the larger foes and bosses do make you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Picking Up Steam continues as I clear out more of the Steam backlog with today's game: Who's That Flying?!. A horizontal shooter where you're an invincible superhero, but the city you protect takes the damage instead! thegamehoard.com/2025/05/02/p... #gaming #videogames
unlabelledView post →A limited and misguided shoot 'em up lacking meaningful content that is inadequate in structure and unsatisfactory in its mechanics. Positive: - The novelty of controlling a playable character that takes no damage is a welcome idea. As a replacement, the player must defend the screen from speeding enemies. If any bogey goes past the screen to the left, a health point is deducted. This is a fresh take on the genre that is partially effective. - Killing enemies fills a power bar that can be…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →one of my favorite games from my first android phone.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the price plays in its favor. it is... fine. not terribly exciting but not terribly great either. there's some fun to be had, but it's not the best shmup you'll play in your life. definitely very casual friendly though.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An interesting hand drawn old school 2d shootem up with a story mode and 2 different arcade modes. Not bad, every thing is drawn and animated by hand and looks nice.
