60 of 181 · most liked firstKind of wish I didn't have to give this game a thumbs down, since it's not a bad game. But just that there's not enough content to stay interesting for long. The novelty of the idea seems to wear off pretty fast and there's nothing much else to the game apart from it. You play as a robot that travels from one office building to another with a single goal - to eat furniture. Not sure why exactly (we don't get a reason). However, there are dangers, ranging from unusually placed laser-beams which…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awesome little stealth game! Sneaking around eating furniture is a lot more fun than you might think lol. The stages are interesting and get more difficult as you progress. It starts off pretty simple but eventually you'll have many different objectives to handle. Has a good bit of stuff to unlock and some neat gadgets. If you enjoy stealth games you will probably like this one too!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Both frustrating & addictive // Recommended for endurance-gamers + Random generation of level design makes for a separate experience each play-through + Myriad game-types available upon unlock + Includes level builder + Audio logs are fun to collect and listen to; these also boast competent voice-acting and a cheeky script + Powerups, traps, and sentries all come together to enrich what is, on paper, a rather dull concept + Visuals are plain and practical; it isn't visually spectacular, but it…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love challenging games, but only the ones that are DESIGNED to be motivatingly difficult, not the ones that turn out to be frustratingly difficult because of DESIGN FLAWS. Unfortunately, "Not The Robots" belongs to the latter type, and it's tragic because I believe this could have been a superb game if only the developers had taken care of the details and weaknesses, of which there are so many that this turned out to be a very long review. The sentries (armed moving robots) have infinite…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you want to buy this game, you'll need to have absolutely no problem with going bald due to pulling all your hairs out. This is a rage game in it's purest state, it looks simple and fun, with lovely visuals that draw you in. When you play the game you start to regret it. The game features a wide variety of security features to keep robots like you out, but the one that's going to drive you mad the easiest and fastest is the Sentries. They have a completely random patrol pattern and can see…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a wonderful rogue-like procedurally-generated stealth-oriented game with brilliant mechanics, nice graphics and a good sense of humor going for it. The machines have taken over this office building and somehow you, an exclamation-mark-looking robot with a remarkable appetite for office furniture, are the only one able (and willing) to look into it and discover the truth waiting on the last floor. In order to beat each stage and access the next one you'll be required to consume a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →On the positive side - Game looks great, controls are good. NEGATIVE SIDE - The game is only fun for 15 minutes... after that its repeatative and boring. There is a group of people out there who loves the concept of robots devouring furnature will LOVE this game. The other 99% should probably pass.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Eat furniture, avoid sentries and get bored of randomly generated levels.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You play as a tall robot which can squat to become less visible, moving through floors of an office, sucking in pieces of office furniture and equipment until you've met a quota. You can pick up items like invisibility and upgrades like an additional item slot, all of which are lost if you die from being shot and burned by security bots and rotating lasers, respectively. You try not to be seen, and if you are and get killed, you start over from the beginning, and every level's layout and such…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is fun for the first few minutes but then it gets a bit repetitive. The game is rouge like and each level is generated differently every time. However, it's not a bad game and it's well crafted but it gets tiring after a bit. It's ok. 6/10 for me.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Finishing Games With ADHD Odd topic to start this review off with, but if you pay attention to any of my reviews, it'll be on par. Not the Robots is/are a great game, and there isn't much room for me to move on this. Completing games is a hard task if you have ADHD, I have so many games, and it's come to the point that, most of them I haven't ever touched more than 5 minutes, some not ever even opened, and It's not like I'm a game collector. I understand that at some point I won't be able to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game was fun for a few minutes, but it eventually became tedious and the controls are frustrating at times and mediocre at best. Good art, not a bad concept, poor execution. Probably would've been better off actually designing levels as well, procedural levels are typically uninspired and repetitive.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →When any major sales happen on Steam, this game goes 90% off. That means you can pick it up for $0.99. Yeah .... I'm not going to write a detailed review here. Suffice it to say, this game is a blast. So trust me ... trust me for 99 cents. You'll be glad you did. Still don't trust me? Get the free demo and try it before you buy it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ehhhhhhhh...... The game is fun and I enjoy it, but I wouldn't recommend it really. The game has randomly generated levels which I really like, but my problem is any level with the AI sentries is a fun blockade. The robots move in random directions instead of being preset, which could work, but there's just not any feedback. The robots don't have a cone of sight, and they seem to see infinitely anyways. Levels without the robot sentries are sweet, but the sentry levels just kill it for me.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →let's start with what rocks: +fun running around, collecting furniture, dodging lasers +early on, you can feel awesome for dodging the sentries. And what doesn't work: -infinite robot sight range -hard to parse how furniture blocks line of sight (sometimes you're crouching behind a desk with no backing, sometimes you are seen, sometime not...) -Random robot movement, with little indication of routes I think these challenges would be fine in a game like invisible Inc, where you can guage…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really, really wish I could like this game. I love stealth, I love robots, and I love randomly generated stuff. The developer of the game is the guy behind The Company of Myself, one of my favorite games when I was a wee middle schooler on Kongregate. This game has a very inventive idea, a stealth game where you must destroy your own cover in order to progress. But this game shows that randomly generated rooms and stealth is NOT a good combination. It is frequently straight-up unfair or…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Starting out the first time that I played this game, it wasn't a satisfying experience that I hoped it would be, but I played it for almost an hour. I came back to it the next day and played it without the depressing, ominous, and unpropitious music (if you can even call it that), and instead played my own music, and I had a blast. Supposedly there is a campaign within the game, however, I have yet to get that far into the game, or I have over looked some things, but it is a very difficult…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Different, simplistic, boring. I lasted 3 buildings before it got old. You play as a robot but no one knows why. The robot eats furniture, no one knows why. There are other robots that hunt you. No one know why. The gameplay and boring graphics of this game is not enough. You need some kind of context to support what you are doing. "Because: Original idear!!" is not enough. tl;dr: Its booring, dont bother, move along.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You ever seen that show My Strange Obsession? Where normal everyday humans eat hair, toilet paper, diapers and other odd things? This game is kinda like that but instead you are a robot who enjoys eating office furniture. Instead of pesky psychologists ruining your guilty pleasure, you have sentry robots trying to destroy you. Tough love is tough.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A roguelike without combat. Highlights include one of the best video game soundtracks of all time, stylish presentation, strategic gameplay, and a better stealth system than every Ubisoft and Hitman game combined.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a 3D rendered 2D top-down stealth/block placement/pathing puzzle game where you need to cross a small maze/puzzle level filled with dangerous ray-shooting lighthouse enemies. You can destroy furniture to create your own blocks to hide behind. A few things are nicely done here, you can customise the controls and you can select the right resolution for your PC setup, and there's some performance tweaks too. The game plays well enough and has nice smooth framerates. The graphics…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Best way to describe this game... Pac-Man meets Metal Gear Solid, meets Office Battle... Let me explain. The goal is to eat the furniture in the office to progress. Sounds simple enough right? Wrong. You have seven buildings to complete, and with each building you complete, the level of difficulty increases. By the way... Did I mention... the levels are fully procedural. There are all types of obstacles to stop you from progressing. From lasers to guard robots with only one thing on their…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Eat furniture. Don't get shot. Hide behind furniture. Collect special items. What the ♥♥♥♥ is the point of this game??
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a game that I did not choose to buy, it came with some sort of gift bundle from a friend and I was kinda bumped and sceptical about it. To be honest the only reason I installed this game was to get the card drops...but then I started playing it. It's well built with humorous tips and witty stories. Engine looks great, no graphics issues, with smooth movement and actions. The story itself is quite peculiar and intriguing never seen something like that. Adding up the fact that everytime…

The incredible story, the wonderful characters, the graphics on par with the best games on the nintendo game play console. This is the best game. This is the best thing. This is my religion. I would recommend this to anyone. My version of heaven would be playing not the robots for eternity. I left my wife to play this game. I threw out my…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Only played for 5 mins and it has already set a pretty good impression, especially when it comes to stealth-based gameplay. Definitely gets challenging the more you play. Nonetheless, there may be some further graphic optimization needed. For some reason my health bar keeps flashing... Overall 9/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm somewhat surprised that I've played so little of this, but at the same time, the tension of knowing that I'm making it more difficult for myself just by playing it does get to me. I will probably never get very far in this game, but I think it's a delightful thing. You play as a robot moving through an office complex. Furniture serves as cover for you to hide from increasingly menacing enemy robots, but also as your only source of food. I've never played anything like it. Highly…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not The Robots might've just created a new genre of video game: the skill based stealth game. Let me explain, most stealth games have set enemy patrols and cover. You're encouraged to take your time and plan for the perfect path through the level. NTR has a section at the beginning of each level where you can attempt to make a strategy, but if you try to aproach this game the same way you approach other stealth games you will be severely punished. Not only do the patrolling enemies not have…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →SHORT REVIEW INCOMING: NOT THE ROBOTS is a great stealth-roguelike that impresses with its unique gameplay mechanics. The vague story and the game upgrading system, which expands the game with features after every death, make NOT THE ROBOTS to a perfect timekiller. One of the best roguelikes out there.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Like a lot of other players, I want to reccommend this. But I just can't. It's a game about stealth with a perma-death mechanic that gets really, really hard. The Pros The first few buildings are a blast. I can move around and practice stealth at my own pace, where I've got avenues to plan out how I'll avoid a laser or a sentry. Power-ups aren't as mandatory, which can suck later on, but can be lifesavers. The random generation of these floors was the reason I did a few runs, where I…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not The Robots is a little game that will probably entertain some puzzle/stealth fans, and those who are looking for a very challenging roguelike game... It's a neat mechanic. :) The biggest problem is that levels should progress in difficulty, but they don't... :( Anywyz i will recommend it :) (y)

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Stealth game about eating furniture! To elaborate, this is actually a great game mechanic because furniture functions as both a hiding place and a game objective. To progress you must clear a room of furniture without getting caught, but removing furniture removes your options. Has a cool end game boss fight, sadly I suck at eating furniture. Not seen anything quite like it and that's a solid 2 thumbs up out of 2 here.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Most dynamic stealth game I've ever played. Features: Enemies that get harder the longer you play 7 level campaign 20 frustrating challenges A well thought out story/lore Custom level mode This is a game that will always keep you on your toes. Seldom does your equipment determine how well you will do, it's by your skill alone. As you get better at it, it will automatically increase in difficulty. There are many ways to play; you can stay quiet and play it safe or recklessly blast through…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So this is lame. I know. But I liked everything about this game but how serious it takes itself. I was hoping for a funny game and the mood music and story threw me. Maybe its just me. Everything else about the game was fine. Just not my tea.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Oh goodness. This game is really interesting. A mechanic in a stealth game where you have to destroy your own cover in order to progress is something I'd never seen before, but that is pulled off quite well here. I will say that on odd-numbered buildings, the game feels very arcade-y, what with the spinning lasers, timed floor traps, and sliding walls. That isn't a bad thing, but there's something to be said about the sense of dread that I get going into the odd-numbered levels which feature…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First Impressions in the Year 2025 - Poor controller support. Action buttons are only described with Mouse/Keyboard buttons. Controller works with some fiddling (enable Steam input before launching the game, have to set binds manually). The game was very confused with my DualShock 4's gyro, I had to re-calibrate it in Steam Big Picture Mode's controller settings and put the controller on my desk while setting the bindings in game. If the controller support was any worse, I wouldn't recommend…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is probably something I would have played through back when I was still playing games in my browser. The gameplay loop just wasn't exciting enough standards for me to keep playing this game, especially for today's standards - even though "The Binding of Isaac" was already released in 2011, two years prior to this which is leagues above considering a exciting gameplay loop. The sound design is pretty smooth though and the art & voice design is alright. The "difficulty increase" is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I loved this so much. Sure its cutesy MGS, bit its not too gay. But it broke and crashes everytime I try to start it, on multiple systems, hardware configurations, and OS installs, its heartbreaking. Please fix. Even with this, as it must just be me, the game itself is great and but it should be $5, maybe $2.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's an okay puzzle type corridor game. Not my cup of tea, but it's also not bad. It doesn't suck.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →3D stealth game. You are a robot in an office building that has various automated security systems set up. Your goal is to eat the furniture without getting caught. Follow the campaign, moving floor to floor and building to building. The offices you're exploring are cluttered with furniture, including chairs, desks, lamps, filing cabinets, plants, etc. Security measures include roving robot patrols, energy fields and sweeping lasers. The furniture can provide cover from security, but…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In the few hours that Not The Robots will last, it will provide almost equal measures of enjoyment and frustration, with Lady Luck usually deciding what it’s going to be each time one gives the randomly-generated levels of the campaign a shot. In the end, though, its main problem is exactly the fact that it will last for only a few hours. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Although not quite my type of game since its a rogue game, this game is VERY fun, addicting, well made and tense. Its a stealth puzzle game where the more furniture you eat to complete the level the easier it is for you to either get damaged by the laser turrets or to get spotted by the relentless guard drones. So every time you enter a level you have to think if you wanna go for the 100% or to get out of there as quickly as possible considering your health carries over and the more you risk…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Simple and charming, but sometimes too simple and not charming enough. This game has some intentional frustrations with some rouge-like elements, but it can be fun, but usually only in small doses. The graphics are fine, though the camera doesn't always make visuals faultless. Sound design is not bad, but it's drab and depressing, which I believe was intentional. There is some lore in the game that makes it more interesting for a time, but after you've unlocked all the story bits, the game…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →NOT THE ROBOTS!!! O_o I hate this game so much. Yet it's so fun, I'm recommending it anyway. Those floating skull-turret-things can go stick a fork in a toaster. 7/10 Maniacally Munching Machines
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hands down the best roguelike stealth furniture eating simulator I have ever played. but seriously I'm not much of a stealth game player but the roguelike style plus the humor hidden in the audio logs is great motivation to put some hours into this title.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty fun Hide and Seek game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was almost finished building 5 when the game froze completely. Besides that, it gets too difficult too quickly. Puzzles like the lasers are one thing but the number of sentries so early in the game makes it way too difficult. If you prefer to game to relax, and dislike games that make you frustrated, avoid this one. EDIT: Upon playing some more I have decided to change my review to positive. I stand by my above comments - freezes are unnacceptable, and a gentler intro would benefit the game.…
