The developer made no attempts to hide the fact, so if you read a review from someone who is particularly irate about this, they probably lack reading and visual interpretation skills. Heavy Fire: Afghanistan is the guiltiest of pleasures. It's more linear than a triple-A shooter, has a setting that's about as overdone as that pizza I left in the oven last night, and quick-time events that would make David Cage…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I can understand the negative reviews. People are used to FPS with a free movement, more weapons and more gameplay. I can also understand that you can get bored with the repetitve scenes. And well, it's true that in the easy mode, you have often sunlight in the eyes and being blind to any enemies. True, the fact that the controller can't be set for player 1 is also annoying as the default keys for the keyboard aren't natural at all for me (AZERTY keyboard...). However, I don't understand the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Alright... LISTEN MAGGOTS! Freedom ain't coming to this hellhole in the middle east if we don't deliver it with big buckets of ammo and loads of gallons of napalm... SHOOT AND BURN YOUR WAY INTO THEIR HEATHEN HEARTS and show them the true meaning of MANIFEST DESTINY! And remember, always just shoot, these poor bastards don't even speak AMERICAN!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Having actually been to Afghanistan, I can testify that: 1) Terrorists do, in fact, do cartwheels 5 feet in front of you 2) One bullet kills every bad guy 3) One magazine can take down an armoured vehicle 4) The over use of the phrase "tango down" 5) One Soldier can single-handedly rid the coutnry of terrorists So ya, if you want a real Afghanistan experience, play the hell outta this game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Low-budget on-rail shooter, made for the consoles like Wii and PS3 primarily, but adopted for the PC as well. It wasn't anything special even right after the release in 2011, and now in Steam it is just a cheap, easy and relatively fast "platinum" and steam-cards-farm. I started it first in the midnight, and fell asleep after 4 levels (about 5-7 minutes each). Then I've played it in the bright day time, fully rested... but still had the urges to fall asleep a dozen times. You know, those…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I always loved that kind of genre - shooter on rails - the house of the dead, and various other arcade machines were my favourite. So what about this one. This game definitely has a lot of problems: -Various camera bugs -Imbalanced enemies won't let you get out of the cover -If you pick up the ammo sometimes you won't change your weapon back from pistol and there is no button to switch weapons -Ingame options tell you to adjust brightness while there are no brightness settings at all…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A rail shooter that pulled me out memories from the old times Attractive graphics, enjoyable gameplay
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I thought I would get one of those bad "vote and get a free copy" action shooters. Surprisingly, it's FUN! Won't tell you about mechanics and gameplay. This is a decent rail shooter reminding me of old SEGA game called Lethal Enforces 1&2, but with smooth graphics, upgrades and you favorite Steam achievements and cards. For a $3 game (free game in my case, as like many of you got it that way) it's really good. Cheers! The only thing I'd fix - sounds. Music is alright but all the "dum-dum" and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →first of all this is an on rails shooter that was released in 2011 for Windows and consoles by Teyon. there is a few things I really didn't like about this game like the camera always moving and if your firing any weapon when the camera just happens to move you will kill your own soldiers and I think I killed over 300. the fact that you couldn't move on your own and fire on your own at any target you wanted too. the gameplay is ok the graphics looked really sharp the story was almost like every…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bad graphics, horrible audio, generic campaign. One of the worst on rail shooters I have played.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's like Time Crisis, but slower and boringer. Enemies are too dumb and easy to kill (1 shot) Suitable for male children around 5 with low reflexes (no joke).
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Heavy Fire: Afghanistan is an enjoyable on the rails shooter Gameplay You start off the game by creating a profile, and then you enter the world as a man named Will, who has just joined the marines, you go through a number of missions with you're new found self all while, shooting enemies, disabling traps, bombing grenades, hearing "TANGO DOWN!" a million times, shooting through planes and machines guns, as well spending skill points in your armory, which can upgrades things like weapons and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. I REPEAT, DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. It's basically a combo of CoD4MW, BF3, and TIme Crisis combined, except everything that made them good was badly executed in this game. It's hard (try the last mission, it's hell on earth.) This game is only worth it if you got it for free, plus the easy 100% and three free trading cards soften up the wound, but I wouldn't buy this game at any costs, STEER CLEAR FROM ANY GAME MADE BY TEYON, EVEN THE RAMBO GAME.

unlabelledView post →I guess the concept is kind of interesting... many people (myself included) quite enjoy rail shooters in arcades. So... why not take the concept, but allow people to play in the comfort of their own home. Unfortunately, without the virtual gun, and with a not-quite-as-intuitive cover system, this rail shooter falls flat. Whether you play with a gamepad or keyboard and mouse - the controls are slow and sluggish, and the movements and animations just don't feel right. This is exacerbated by the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Please don't buy this game unless you like rail shooters (arcade games).
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A funny and entertaining rail shooter. Mullah Mufti Taliban ass-kicking distribution. You only shoot the right people. Great fun for this price.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was actually suprised that i enjoyed the game. Its an arcade style shooter THAT IS WAY MUCH BETTER THAN RAMBO THE GAME!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Decent enough game. You can ignore the negative reviews from ree-tods who don't know what rail-shooters are.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Still better then modern CoD games... Dont spend your money on this one though

And now because of the game I started to love on-rails shooters again. Thanx for refreshing my memory! Pros: +Fun for 1-2 hours; +High quality for the rare genre "On-Rails Shooter"; +Voice acting (it's not horrible at least); +Achievements, trading cards, steam cloud, steam leaderboards, remote play... +-Plot of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →That's it, this is the worst game I ever played on Steam. I wasted 15 minutes playing this, but I am determined to waste another 15 minutes to write this review and try to stop anyone who would ever consider wasting their time or money on this game. Yes, I was aware this was a railshooter since the begining, I said, oh why not, this looks like "Rambo The Videogame" that game was moderately entertaining for two hours, and this one came within a bundle that did cost me 3 dollars, seems like a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Even on the easiest difficulty, can't for the life of me complete the last mission. Yet again, another example of moronic developers not understanding what the word 'easy' means. Don't waste your time.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →VERDICT: Heavy Fire: Afghanistan is a well polished, if short, rail-shooter with cover mechanics, unlockable weapons and equipment, and quick-time events. Full of quick-moving, adrenaline pumping firefights that occur in numerous fixed locations keeping you on your toes and forces you to take cover, acquire where targets are located, before shooting or blowing them up! Limited ammo and explosives mean you are always looking to replinish your ever decreasing resources as the sequence of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →5/10 Purchase if heavily discounted If you enjoyed this review, consider giving it a thumbs up! Pros +Gameplay Although a rail shooter is by no means an original idea this game does it well. Nothing special but also nothing particularly terrible when it comes to the on-rails gameplay. +Skill Tree There is a semi-interesting skill tree in the game using points you get from ranking up. You can buy one of four new guns, ammo upgrades or grenade upgrades, etc. Cons -Shooting The shooting in…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Heavy Fire: Afghanistan is a on rails shooter developed by the same people who did Rambo the video game but will this be a better game than that or the same mess ? In Heavy Fire: Afghanistan you play as Will who is re telling his war stories that we relive and play through shooting our way through a war. So how is this game ? This game is bad and thats pretty much all i can say about it. Now as on rails shooter theres not much to say about it. You are put on a track and as soon as you clear out…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another day, another arcade-style game. This time it's a rail shooter, closest comparison is definitely the Namco series Time Crisis. That's a good model to crib from, as most of the games in that series are great. Unfortunately, Heavy Fire: Afghanistan misses the mark. This is going to come off as a really unfair comparison review. I don't care for writing these, since all too often they boil down to: "Why play this? When you can play this instead?" Also, what's the alternative? The PS2 has…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This a fun, classic "rail-shooter" just like you would find in an arcade. If you like trying to "beat" games like this, they you will have a blast. If you are looking for a FPS, please understand that is not what this game is. A lot of the other reviewers seemed to be expecting something that this was not meant to be. Graphics, sound and action are all good and will keep you busy. Doesn't require a super-powerful PC, but the game is definitely more fun on a machine that can keep up a good…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rail shooter with plenty of action and decent flow.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →How are you gonna make a rail shooter and then make the guns sound like politely knocking on a f-'n door?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Today's Review: Heavy Fire: Afghanistan Wow i mean... just... Wow... I've seen some horrible ♥♥♥♥ in my life, as some other state i've played Ride to Hell: Retribution, Rambo the videogame, The Slaughtering Grounds and The walking dead: survival instinct and even when those titles suck, i've enjoy them, but this game it's a total pile a garbage. This game it's like the product of a hobo and dump cannister having a child's puke, a dog eating that puke and the ♥♥♥♥ comming out of the dog it's…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sorry Developers of this Game but I dont have many if anything good to say about this game. It is a walking disaster, a horrible wreck, needs overhaul on all gameplay aspects or just a REDO. The character design is decent and that is about all I have good to say, I would never waste my money on this game, good thing I got in a huge bundle so it was like 20 cents. STAY FAR AWAY from Heavy Fire if you know whats good for ya. Im rating this game a 1.5/10 which is probably the l;owest score I have…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wanted to love this game, but I don't think I can suggest picking it up. The on-rails, arcade-style gameplay was my narcotic throughout grade and middle school; that's transferred over well enough. I forgive it for the uninspiring story, pitiful voice acting, and Stormtrooper-grade A.I. The fact that guns barely make a sound troubles me most. A close second is the fact that you seem to swivel around on a turntable whenever you're moved down the "rail." I wasn't expected spectacular…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In this game, you play as a brave Marine that overcomes the sun perpetually being in his eyes. I've always thought on-rails shooters were kind of fun, but this game made me question whether they'll ever have a place on PC. After all, playing an on-rails shooter with a mouse rather than a light gun eliminates virtually all challenge. And you probably couldn't play this game with a light gun even if you felt like going to the trouble to configure one, because it utilizes five buttons for its…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game looks and plays like a bad port of a bad mobile game. It might just be the worst game I've played in the last 2 years. This is not an on-rail shooter, this left clicking on cardboard cutouts that are so abominably placed that they perfectly blend in with the bleak background. There's no indication on whether their bullets are actually hitting me, my own weapon is blocking the screen and keeping me from spotting enemies. I was eagerly awaiting the end of the level because it just…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Heavy Fire: Afghanistan is a super fast playing on-rails shooter set in modern-day Afghanistan featuring tanks, assault vehicles and helicopters. The graphics are DX9 so the shaders used are mediocre. Teyon still managed to get this game looking decent with very easy system requirements. This game is also available on the Xbox 360. Played this on my Dell Latitude 5440 with Intel ARC Xe graphics. Game is very playable.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I actually bought those Heavy Fire games in the last Steam sale. It's interesting how those games were basically the foundation for their Rambo game.
unlabelledView post →Heavy Fire: Afghanistan is a rail-on linear shooter that contains 12 missions. It’s a relatively short game (about 2 hours for one playthrough). If you want to earn most of the achievements, you would need to play it twice — first on Normal difficulty and then on Veteran. It’s a simple game, but overall I enjoyed it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rating 7/10 Intro Time Crisis and Virtua Cop have their place in the history of on-rail shooters. But quite frankly, their home platform versions were so lackluster, that they still kept the limited credits system. That of which basically erased all of your progress, if you lost them all. That's not fun, to say the least. This game effectively fixes that issue, while also adding unlock-able upgrades and a higher difficulty. Positives + Simple to pick up. + Campaign cooperative. + Failed QTEs…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i bought this cause the reviews said it was a cheap but ok rail shooter. yeah, its a rail shooter. yeah, its cheap, esp on sale. but is it okay? eh... its pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mediocre. and i mean PAINFULLY so. like, it's REALLY sloppy, the story is terrible, i feel uncomfortable shooting just generic sterotypical middle eastern guys while the game waffs on about how it's fine 'cause we're marines and they're rebels. it has dumb but easy quick time events. i mean... it's a rail shooter? i guess?…

unlabelledView post →Heavy Fire: Afghanistan is a thrilling on-rails arcade shooter that delivers intense action and immersive gameplay. From the moment I started playing, I was hooked by the fast-paced combat and dynamic environments. The graphics, while not groundbreaking, effectively capture the gritty atmosphere of a warzone. The controls are straightforward and responsive, making it easy to jump right in and start blasting through enemies. I appreciate the variety of missions and the chance to use different…

Those people posting negative recomendations. Heavy Fire for me a big surf of flashback. Positive flashback. Two thumbs up! You guys need a sequel, something like Heavy Fire:Fallujah or smth like this.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wrote a long review that gott lost, so let's summing up. A ps3 port who hasn't aged well. Developers didn't make this game thinking in keyboard and mouse, because aiming with a mouse makes the game terribly easy, even more for a game that's already very very very easy and short. For a "shooter on rails" I liked how they've portrayed afghan cities and caves during conflict, however the IA is so bad that it can be quite hard to maintain the belief that you are in an actual conflict. Not…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A decent rail shooter with a reasonable storyline and good gameplay, although a bit on the easy side once you have the hang of the cover system and how to use it. There is a reasonable variety in the missions, in the open, villages, tunnels/caves, on a helicopter, in a tank, etc. so it doesn't become too repetitive. The difficult ramps up reasonably well through the game, with an initial easy mode that unlocks a veterans campaign which is reasonably tough although it can be a bit checkpoint…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My time on this game is skewed due to leaving it open for the cards and forgetting that the launcher counts as "time played." With that said, this game is pretty poor. It is similar in quality to the Rambo on-rails shooter video game that came out some time ago. Dialogue is clunky, the story isn't engaging, aiming and the "feel" of the guns is off. It probably doesn't help that I played a much better on-rails shooter (Blue Estate), but this game is a harsh step backwards. The only saving…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Why play Call of Duty when this game basically distills every COD game since Modern Warfare into its gameplay for a tenth of the price? Go here, shoot these guys, go there, shoot those guys, blow up this APC. Oh no a helicopter! Grab that rocket launcher. Etc. As a an added bonus, you can even play it with a sandwich in the other hand, because only wimps really need to duck for cover. Seriously though, this is a great nostalgia trip for anyone who remembers virtua cop/ time crisis light gun…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Heavy Fire: Afghanistan is a game that really wants to be Call of Duty on rails, but it simply lacks the budget and creative license to pull any of it off. The game is just a cheap cash grab in every sense of the word.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's like Point & Click version of CoD.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game totally reminds me of the arcade lightgun games like Time Crisis and The House Of The Dead. The graphics are a lot more modern than either of those games though. It looks pretty nice, and moves fast. With the different vehicles and the different weapons, and the equipment upgrades there are a lot off different ways to play. When you're shooting outdoors on foot, use the assault rifle. Indoors, use the shotgun. Either that, or upgrade your armor (Life on the life bar), and take…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well I got what I was expecting a cheap, mediocre on rails shooter, cant really complain
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Heavy Fire: Afghanistan isn't a good game in the traditional sense, but it is weirdly charming in its low-budget Double-A-ness. I've always felt like rail shooters on PC are kind of a moot point since being able to aim with the mouse makes them piss-easy and this game doesn't refute that theory in the slightest, but I wanted something dumb and loud where I could pour bullets into bad guys and I got two-out-of-three from my checklist. Basically if Call of Duty is a summer blockbuster, this'd be…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →better than the open-world shooters these days use the environment to kill enemies mission briefing voice lines QTE + turret shooter taliban bois would do a cartwheel before opening fire please keep this franchise alive
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is good. Most of the bad reviews don't understand what an On-Rails Shooter is and are too used to COD / GTA. The graphics are good, and the story is alright. The game mechanics are O.K., no trouble there. The difficulty of the game isn't too easy, but it's not impossible to beat. However, the gameplay, for the most part, get's repetitive. I also wish for a second campaign -- perhaps playing the side of the Taliban, or some other extremist group?
