60 of 96 · most liked firstNephise: Ascension is the third and latest installment in the Nephise series, created by Tonguç Bodur. Since each of the three stories present a different chapter from the life of Nephise - a magical being whose main characteristic is collecting energy orbs, there is no requirement to play the previous games before trying this one out. The game is a walking simulator, therefore you'll spend most of the time exploring the surroundings and enjoying the beautifully crafted environments. As…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →3rd game of the serious and the biggest one. You have to collect 20 orbs, a few riddles and a few Steam Achievement Time challenges. I enjoyed this game the most & its good for Walking Simulator Fans & Steam Achievement 100 % Hunters :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →MY RATING: ✔ ✔ ✔ ✔ ✔ ✘ ✘ ✘ ✘ ✘ 5 / 10 Nephise: Ascension is by far the best part of the Nephise series or let's say it could have been if not... ... but more on that in a moment. So let's first look at what has changed with regard to the other two parts. One of the most noticeable changes is that Nephise gets a character model for the first time that can be seen in cutscenes. Other changes include having to pull levers for platforms, opening doors, and navigating labyrinth-like…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the 3rd instalment of Mr. Bodur's Nephise series and also the most ambitious one. While completing a walkthrough can still be done in a couple of hours this episode is much longer than its predecessors. As you can expect the game looks spectacular thanks to the latest iteration of the Unreal engine. Outdoor sequences cover all seasons (I particularly liked the snow-covered forest) and the zombie- and skeleton-infested dungeons represent a new addition to the already varied locales.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Since I have played all Tonguç's games I think I can make this review. The story so far: First she encountered the orb in the harpy's cave, then she searched acroos the snowy forest and now, in the third part of Nephise's story, she's trying to scape Dragon's Valley. You can appreciate the improvement in graphics and playability but it has pros and cons of course: Pros: - Beautiful scenery, but I think Bottle Pilgrim was far more beautiful than this game. - We see Nephise for the first…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →And again an awesome piece of art in which you can feel the love that was put inside. The wonderful music is creating a great athmosphäre. The small riddles and the searching are in a good balance - so they will not put you out of the mood the game creates. Even though I am not so much into fantasy, the journey of Nephise touched my heart. Only thing: she must be freezing like hell ;) As I am a fan of walking simulators in which you can simply enjoy the music and the setting and that are able…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nope, sorry. I don´t like the mix of walking sim and platformer. The physics aren´t polished enough to do this kind of stuff and it breaks the beautiful atmosphere.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a good walking simulator, good graphics and music. About two hours of gameplay. This chapter is better than the previous ones.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nephise Ascension is a very short walking simulator. I bought the game because I liked the music, the style and the atmosphere. I expected the game to be a little longer. I completed the game in less than two hours. Nevertheless I liked the experience. The game is mysterious, looks very nice and offers a charming fantasy ambience. I have to admit I didn't fully understand the story, probably because I haven't played the games predecessors, but I didn't really mind. For a while I accompanied…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You can get real drunk and have a fun couple hours with this game. Give it a shot. Great looking environments, nice music, and good narration. Nephise Ascension contains more puzzles and platforming than any of Tonguc's previous games but I enjoyed those elements quite a bit, they're pretty light and won't demand too much of you. There's no combat so if you're looking for a casual walking simulator this is still great, but technically there are some zombies and skeletons that can kill you in a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An hour into the third part of the "Nephise" games and sadly I've had to stop playing, because there are zombies in this game, which ruined the previous feeling of relaxation for me and replaced it with an anxious expectancy of jump scares and more horror elements. Which in theory wouldn't be a problem if this game had a "horror" tag with it. But it came as a surprise, since the other games were calm and relaxing with no fear of dying. This is just me, if you have no problems with zombies,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolutly beautiful game. Very relaxing , great visuals , & audio. One can see the good improvements from previous Nephise games. Although the game is short it is well worth buying & I`m glad I did . I am looking forward to the next Nephise insallment.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First off: I played about 1 hour, the rest of the time was spent idling for cards. The game is a walking simulator with a narrating voice. Overall it's enjoyable, but it's also very short and overall it felt like it was trying to drag itself a little longer than it should have. If you need ratings: Graphic: 7/10 Sound: 7/10 Longevity: 4/10 Gameplay: 5/10 Overall: 5/10 Buy it only if you want an easy game to play for an hour.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For those of us who love this type of game its sad to see some nagative ratings. As one that likes the style i would give it 8 out of 10. Ending was a little short and a third person view of the character would be nice. I bought the whole game collection after playing this one. What I like best is the character, music, voices and graphics. Cant wait for the next game, I will play this one again. Awesome!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Among all the releases by Tonguç Bodur, "Nephise: Ascension" is so far the most game to be played. Several large levels connected to a hub, each with an own kind of challenges, and some achievements not everyone will get automatically just by passing the game. If you want to do more than just walking, try this! But playing more game than ever is not the only reason to recommend it. As always, the levels provide a variety of beautiful landscapes, also with moving and even interactive elements…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →41st completed ✔️ game of 2025. #Nephise was a short tale about a lady and some Ale 🍺 check it out if you get a chance.
unlabelledView post →Warning: This review contains no outright spoilers, but it contains critique on the salient themes of the game. It's been way too long since I've played a Tonguc Bodur game. Now that I finally have time to, I am warmed by the loving embrace of the Nephise series, and honestly, it's like I never left. Less than two hours of gameplay? Check. Collecting orbs of dubious purpose and worth? Check. Spinning statues around in mystifying different directions? You got it, baby. But wait, there's more.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This has all the wandering and orb collecting of the other Nephise games, plus a character model you see in cut scenes, and it has platforming. I HATE platforming. Hate Hate Hate, so this gets a no. Parts of it involve a lot of tedious wandering in catacombs that serve no other purpose than to pad out the game time wise. On a positive not, Grandma sounds nice and the music isn't bat. The environments tend to look the same from one end to the other though. In the end I was sick of this fiasco…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Indie game melting "walking simulator" and "action-adventure" mechanics in first person view. Appreciable graphics, aesthetics and animations for an indie production. By the way, it takes at face value the term "walking simulator". Initially it was introduced by critics as detractive term for not well understood games like Dear Esther, Firewatch, etc. Now it's a well stated and appreciated genre for unusual games trying the path of art and narration. Nevertheless, the "walking simulator"…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am a big of Tonguc Bodur exploration games and this one is the best of all. I have them all. As usual very relaxing. Good story and the world is always amazing. Just play these games to relax your mind when needed. A good break from Fast Pace games. Just waiting for the next one. As usual, good job. Keep doing it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yet another adventure in the world of Nephise. In this third installment our heroine is again tasked with collecting orbs and positioning statues just so. In addition, she experiences all four seasons, another rather large animal, and some blind skeletons. Primarily an atmospheric walking sim, with a puzzle to solve and platforming challenges to overcome. Your progress is saved at the beginning of each chapter. I enjoyed this relaxing romp through a magical landscape.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short casual walking simulator and the third part in the “Nephise” series, this one is three times the length of the previous two games combined, and finally starts to feel like a real game. Here we get to explore a forlorn but beautiful valley with ancient ruins, collect orbs to unlock adjacent locations (including dungeons with zombies and skeletons, and some elements of arcade), and in the few cutscenes finally see how our heroine looks (like a third-rate anime cosplayer, rather than outdoor…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Walking Simulator + 1. Nephise Ascension is the third and so far the final part of Nephise Trilogy creating a mysterious world with undead, giants and other magical beings. If you are familiar with Nephise games you might be familiar of gathering things until the next event opens, whatsoever it guaranteed that you get that more than enough with this game you also are introduced with platforming and simple minded puzzle solving and overall the package is pretty comprehensive plus you can jump!…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nephise: Ascension is the third in a trilogy of walking sims. It's an immersive and fun ending(?) to the Nephise trilogy. I especially loved the voice acting. Beautiful scenery and music as well. If you can get only one Nephise game, this is it. But I highly recommend getting all three for the storyline. Nephise is a short and simple introduction to the story, Nephise Begins is the next installment very much like the first, and Nephise: Ascension has more story, puzzles and zones ... and a fun…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Play as Nephise, an adventurer who explores hidden glades, deep caverns, and misty forests. While out exploring, Nephise has gotten herself lost in Dragon Valley; find four statues to unlock four gates, each with their own challenges and make your way home. Nephise Ascension is a huge credit to the entire series, 1+ hours to beat, beautiful graphics, fun gameplay, easy puzzles, fine music, it’s a good game to recommend. The weather effects could have been nicer but the huge open areas were fun…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game definitely deserves a recommendation and it is worth playing, Also the area is pretty good and its better than the previous Nephise Series. This game has more game-play and more story which i loved the most. Pros 1. Relaxing Music 2. Great story telling 3. Fun and calm game play 4. Great Graphics 5. ONE WORD AWESOME GAME TO PLAY Cons 1. Very Short Game you can complete in 60+ mins 2. Not much of a re-playable
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of Tonguc's better games up to the point of this being released, but I still think Bottle: Pilgrim was better.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Spacious beautiful scenery, delightful puzzles, no horror, no violence other than instant oblivion upon fatal mistakes. The musical themes are 'Renaissance' style, varied with chapter, but within each chapter rather monotonous. That said, the simple melodies are pleasant but not particularly creative. Only one puzzle stumped me (I resorted to a 'walkthrough' to solve it). The story line follows the 'fairy tale' style, narrated well. Many will replay it, if only to enjoy 3 hours of tranquility…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well, there's "more gameplay" in this one than the previous ones, some easy puzzles, but the environments aren't as beautiful. Still, a very short ok game. I do recommend if you want to play the entire Tonguç Bodur collection like I'm doing right now. My favorite game is still the Bottle: Pilgrim.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Einfach toll! Just great! I again really enjoyed playing another one of Tonguç Bodurs games. I love his games and will surely play his…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Decent game. Fairly easy but has some challenging platforming areas. Good storyline and the music is soothing. The scenery was beautiful. I had some trouble with getting my game to run smoothly and so I posted a question in the discussion as to what settings I should use. The developer responded right away and told me to lower my display and graphic setting. I did this and the game ran really well.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The addition of the action-like elements to an already perfect “walking” paradigm makes Nephise Ascension very engaging and one that I would recommend. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Walking Simulator. Guaranteed Tonguc Quality. It's 8y old, done with UR4, so it is a bit oldish by graphic. + Nice Scenary. + Nice Story If you are WalkSim fan, this is well worth to check! Maybe not with full 5$/€ price, but with some discount!? Achievements, 100% / ~2h. + Some idling for trading cards...

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Beautiful and short walking simulator. Treat it more like a project where the person behind it is testing their skills with the game engine.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →[url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/9686972/]Follow "First Person Exploration and Puzzle Games" for more games like this! This developer is known for making short, low-effort walking simulators. This one is similar to his previous "Nephise" games, in that you walk around beautiful but functionally empty open areas looking for glowing orbs and other objects. Like his previous games, this one is completely devoid of contextual clues, so you'll spend a lot of time wandering. The very…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lovely as always.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a stunning walking simulator with a relaxing atmosphere and stunning view. This is the third of the Nephise games and I do recommend that you play all of them. I also recommend that you have a look at this developer's other games as all of them are stunning and relaxing.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →https://youtu.be/5Xxf2aHeeM0 Collecting statues and orbs at a methodical pace with minor platforming is not a strong enough experience to bring players onboard to invest the time required to make progress.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't put platforming elements in a game if you're unable to do better than ♥♥♥♥♥♥ unresponsive as ♥♥♥♥ controls.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it's a beautiful, calm and relaxing walking simulator with light narration, a few easy puzzles and some stuff to collect. it's not special in any way but then again there is nothing wrong with it either. you can't save at all but that's sort of ok since finishing the game took 60 minutes plus some bonus minutes for 100% achievements. however if you totally need to quit playing for one reason or another there's a chapter selection option. so that's a plus. if you like the looks of it i guess…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →That was fun! Liked the achievements.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm no stranger to Mr Bodur's games--I own & have completed 4 or 5. I know what I'm getting into when I purchase one of his titles. The fact that I keep buying them says something positive about them, but every time I dip my toe back in these waters, the frustration overwhelms me. As other reviewers have probably said, these are walking simulators, and not of the What Remains of Edith Finch variety--think "Dear Esther" with some very light puzzle/platformer elements (VERY LIGHT). The…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Walking around a huge empty valley with only a few tiny points of interest. Got to the third chapter ? (Collected the ten orbs part ) but had no idea what or where to go next? Had to watch a youtube clip to find out. Too slow, Needs a map. Areas are just to empty to keep me interested.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I honestly wish there were more. My friend i purely enjoyed the games and were excited to find this third one. I think this game is fabulous the atmosphere was fantastic. Overall gameplay fantastic. The 2nd part of statue collecting freaked me and my friend out when there were howling and roaring of monsters, things walking across the screen and it felt like a horror aspect was added to it. my only complaint is there is no more nephise. nephise feels like a story that can just go on and on.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So I have played all three of the Nephise games. Just enough tricky stuff to keep it interesting, not so hard I give up. They are essentially walking adventure with some puzzzles and a little bit of platforming / stealth / combat. I am not especially good at platforming or combat so for me this was just the right balance. Story is engaging, music / atmosphere is good. A little bemused at Nephise’s silly voluptuous figure, but hey, pretty sure she wasn’t designed with my preferences in mind 😉.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's ok. Though in my opinion one of the weaker games of Tonguç Bodur.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I do enjoy walking simulators and have played quite a few from this developer, but this one felt noticeably more tedious. The biggest frustration was a pretty tough “collect 10 of [insert item]” quest that’s mandatory to progress, which really bogged down the pace. The plot itself felt like a simple rehash of the same Nephise storyline from the previous two games, she’s still a mystery, and there’s no real explanation about why the orbs give her powers or what they actually are. It would be…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →collecting an Orb = getting flashed good game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice relaxing game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Although classified as a walking simulator it plays more like a light adventure game with very light platformer and puzzle elements. This installment also has a stronger story to follow and connect the things that are happening. The main problem with this game is the cheesy look of the character during the cutscenes. Why did she have to be half naked? Beware the game is only roughly 45 minutes long!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →30 minute walking sim story using Unreal engine to tell a simple story. Not much depth, straight forward run and jump and collect stuff while narrator rumbles on. Good artwork/scenes and passable soundscape, ultra thin plotline.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I loved it. The game is short, but it is certainly longer than the two previous installments. And the variety of levels is wider - there are of course orbs to collect, but then there is also a bit platforming, as well as a few enemies. Playing the Nephise franchise I've always felt like the story could've been expanded upon and explained better, but despite that it's a beautiful piece.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short, but thoroughly enjoyable walking simulator with some light platforming and monster evasion elements which make this one of the best offerings by this developer. The music doesn't wear out its welcome and the graphics are beautiful as always (with proper credit given as always to the makers of the prefab elements used) although the resolutions were rather lacking (unusual in a Tonguc Bodur game) for higher end PCs. The "find the orb" sequences weren't as drawn-out as they sometimes are…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This 'game' is one part tech demo and one part slop. I don't think it's worth anyone's time (except if you want some easy achievements).
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another journey unfolds in the world of Nephise. In this third installment, our heroine is once again tasked with gathering orbs and precisely placing statues. Along the way, she navigates through all four seasons, encounters a massive creature, and even meets some blind skeletons. At its core, this atmospheric walking simulator combines engaging puzzles with platforming challenges, with your progress saved at the start of each chapter. I truly enjoyed this serene romp through a magical…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For five dollars it isn't horrible compared to the other five dollar games out there. However, there really isn't much of a story here or even anything worth wild seeing. The best thing I would say this game has to offer is the music, but some areas if you take too long then the music cuts out for a good minute or two before restarting. The story? Well, your character enters an area yet to be explored to collect orbs. Why? I think to save her sister from her illness but other parts of the…
