Mystery of Neuschwanstein is a hidden object adventure puzzle game. You might love HOGs and still hate this one. My overall experience was positive but there was something I really hated in this game: Liked - When i play a few Artifex Mundi games it feels so i just doing the same puzzle over and over again so it was a bit refreshing to see some other ones. - More lore, background and story compared to other HOGs. I liked to get some info about the castle, about the Swan King (King Ludwig II…

I enjoyed playing Mystery of Neuschwanstein, I'm a bit of a history buff and also love castles, not too mention HOG, hence why I purchased the game. I would say this game is an average HOG/puzzle game. The graphics were good and the atmosphere played well to the game. The story could have been better, it's not horrible, but it would have really made this a nice HOG game if the story were a bit deeper. The HOG parts of the game were average in the challenge aspect, the puzzles were good, a few…

Mystery of Neuschwanstein is nice little casual hidden-object game . I got this game as a gift and I played the whole game (including the bonus chapter ) in around 4 hours . Gameplay 7/10 Traditional hidden-object game style . Nothing new is added to the genre , but it also doesn't fail anywhere .You combine a few things e.g. glue with another object and of course you riddle the hidden-object scenes . A bit short ( I finished the game and bonus chapter in around 4 hours ) Music /Sound 7/10…

This is overall a good enough game, but it also does have a decent enough amounts of faults. While overall I'm giving it a recommended because the good outweighs the bad, I'd advise to wait on buying for there to be some actual guides out there because this game sorely needs a guide. Pros: +NIce visuals. The style is very good and makes everything look really nice and prevents it from suffering from some of the issues that can exist in the genre. +Pretty good story. It's a nice mystery…

I usually like Hidden Object games especially ones with achievements but I can't recommend this one I'm afraid. I just didn't warm to it from the start. The acting seemed very wooden and lacklustre and the hidden object scenes appeared chaotic and dark. I usually have no problem finding objects but the objects they asked me to find were unusual and cluttered. I didn't like the artstyle of the game either and the whole feel of the game left me frustrated.I gave up after only 17 minutes. I just…

Neushwanstein is one of the most famous castles in Europe, and the inspiration of Disney's Cinderella castle. It was commissioned to be built by Ludwig II of Bavaria in 1869 and has been open to the public since 1886. The game takes place in this historical setting with a couple of conspiracy theories thrown in to liven up the plot. Storyline: Sarah Hamilton of Fact and Fancy (newspaper) stalled in her investigation of a credit fraud scam is sent to Neuschwanstein to investigate rumors…

To begin with, I have always been fascinated with the story of Ludwig 2; the Fairytale King. It's a mystery which obviously fascinated this developer too, and I applaud them for delving in and producing some interesting theories! But I digress. I enjoyed this game, it is almost more of a graphic novel than a true adventure or HOGA. It has a lot of discussion between the characters but I didn't find this bothered me . I enjoyed the historical back lectures given by Prof Adler and indeed that…

I had this one on my wishlist for a minute. I bought it through Amazon and activated it here. Turns out I'm really enjoying this game. To the people that don't like the new Hidden Object/Adventure genre, you may not like this game. They don't really advertise it as a HOG on Amazon . I'm thrilled with it. I love HOG's,they were my favorite for a long time. About this game: Voice acting-very well done in my opinion and it saves people from reading, which keeps many people from playing games that…

This game really disappointed me. The hidden object phases are too easy. Puzzles are cool though. Some phases are almost impossible to pass without getting a hint because the game has a habit of putting minuscule things in scenes and expect us to look at every pixel and guess if an item is pickable or not. The story and dialogues aren't that good either. I suggest you look at other hidden object games.

I really liked the style of the game. Compared to other hidden object adventures I played, this one has an unique look and an intersting historical setting. This very short casual point-and-click adventure has much better storytelling and characterization than is usual for this genre. There are some nice hidden-object scenes and challenging (but fair) puzzle mini-games. Sounds great, right? Unfortunately, this game fails because the game engine is unbearably clunky. Usually you have to point and click, but there are a few key moments where you have to drag items instead, and there's no clear logic as to why you would need to do so. The engine also…

An interesting point and click puzzle game. This was the first game I have played of this type, and I really enjoyed it until towards the end. The big problem for me is that the puzzles get diabolically hard, and there is no real explanation of most of them as to exactly what you have to do to solve them. There is only a single guide on Steam, for one particular puzzle, and no google matches for any of the other puzzles. Instead, to get past a lot of them, I had to resort to a Let's Play series…

Mixing history, conspiracy, journalism and the Holy Grail is something that can keep me up all night. Mystery of Neuschwanstein is a classic Hidden Object Scenes game, with casual puzzles and mini-games. The plot isn't very exciting, nor sophisticated, as most games of the genre. At least it's not full of monsters, beasts or other unrealistic creatures and fantastic events. And it refers to real historical figures (mainly Ludwig II of Bavaria who commissioned the construction of the splendid Neuschwanstein castle) and some true facts about them, which is a good informative and educational…

A good old HOG with a history theme. You have a tablet to interact with for notes and emails. It eventually gets a UV light and night vision goggles. The puzzles can be quite challenging. The HOs have some tiny things to find that can be a challenge too. In some HOs you have to use items from your inventory, so that is a cool feature. On easy mode the things to interact with and pick up sparkle, so you shouldn't miss anything. Except you still can if you rush through each screen! Things are…

(Not sure how to get the "Mechanic" Achievement and sadly... Not going to try and figure it out). I am guessing that this game wanted for you to feel like a detective and investigate things on your own, solving the mystery in the end. That's all good and all, but... The game has glitches and a few... Annoying things. For one, at times interactable objects/people would move with me from scene to scene or even into a puzzle. I mean... It's hilarious at first... Cardinal rule of hidden object games: When you find the "object", there is no doubt you found the right thing. This game has 5 different brown-tinged metal keys and it asks you to find the "Brass Key". No way not to have to guess. Bad game! NO! Bad!

Unfortunately i won't recommend this game. Not because it was an awfull game, but mainly because it did not met my expectations. I hoped to have a nice hidden find game with an interesting story. In my opinion the story line was very weak and not that many puzzles to solve. Content including bonus is good for roughly four hours of gameplay.

If you enjoy clicking on the same item over and over again before it will register in a HOS, this is the game for you. There were a couple of items that required clicking in a precise spot before they would register. Also, since when is a fork a comb? And when did a chess pawn become a 'peasant'? I had to use a hint to figure that one out. The diary is also frustrating. As far as HOGs go, I didn't find this one terribly enjoyable.

Mystery of Neuschwanstein is a hidden object game where you play as a journalist investigating the real, titular castle, home of Bavarian king Ludwig II with the help of a professor. It follows the same formula as Artifex Mundi's HOGs, but being made by a different company it has some differences as well. One of the more noticeable ones is that sometimes in HOG scenes you have to combine it with something from your inventory and not from the scene itself. While the levels look pretty, I notice…

This game was very disappointing. Visually, it should have been stunning as it is set in Neuschwanstein castle. Instead, it was very visually bland. Most of the settings were not in the castle itself but in mundane places like a construction site or a trailer. The few rooms from Neuschwanstein that were used were in muted colours and somehow managed to drain this legendary castle of its beauty. I don't know why they bothered to set the game in this castle if they weren't going to make better…

Personally, I found the game dull. The gameplay is fine, and the art is neat, but the story and voice acting is lackluster. Of course, not a lot of hidden object games are anything grand—with a few exceptions. But even compared to other games of the like, this one feels pretty meh. While not a bad game, I’d skip it or buy it cheaply.

The innocent characters are complete idiots and the culprits a bit obvious, and the German characters all have English accents. But damn, it was a fun game. I love historical stuff, especially when you get to find secret rooms. Some of the things were hard to find, because the cursor didn't always change when it moved over something of interest, so I had to use hints. Also, some of the puzzles were stupidly hard, in a tedious sort of don't-want-to-spend-an-hour-on-this kind of way. But…

I'm glad I picked this title up at one of the sales - it was a great historical mystery with many twists and turns and my inner historian was quite intrigued by the subject of King Ludwig II. Tried to get my money back from Steam but was over their 2 week refund policy. Contacted the publisher who asked me for my computer specs. Don't be mistaken: This is a Visual Novel disguised as a HOG. It is not a bad story, not at all, but it is not what I signed up for. And dear Lord there is SO much dialogue! And all the character drawings just slide into frame, just like a visual novel. Yes, there's puzzles and such, but none of them are difficult in any way. I had some problems with the hacker puzzles, they can be quite a challenge. The hidden object puzzles are (luckily) not to difficult, I do not like to use the hint function. This is a good HOG though there aren't a lot animations. People are just static images shifting in and out of the picture. Of course this game reminds some of us to Gabriel Knight (created during the golden age of adventures) but obviously it doesn't come anywhere near that for story, atmosphere or animation due to the low budget for these type of games (i.e. adventure/HOG). I enjoyed playing this game. Interesting story line and an opportunity to learn a little too

Boring story, as a mystery it sucked the bad guys were obvious but then there are only a few people involved. Puzzles were okay but the plot was junk and voice acting and cheesy graphics were disappointing. More silly ahistorical Templar, Catholic Church secret society garbage that Brown made a fortune off from the gullible. I thought that had gone the way of the dodo by the date this was released
