60 of 89 · most liked firstI was torn between giving this game a thumb up or down, I mean it does have many good things but it also has a very annoying flaw, and first of all, there is no map. You'll keep going back and forth not knowing what to do, especially if you don't want to use the hint button to get the achievement "Everything is possible - Completed the game without using a single hint" So it was a real challenge. Although I like challenges and achievements, not this way which made me walk like a clueless person…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sometimes I can be a weird person. When someone says something is bad, I have a sick fascination to find out why. That’s why I decided to play Shtriga: Summer Camp and while it isn’t a horrible game it sure isn’t a good one. In this hidden object adventure game you play an unnamed female detective who is searching for a missing boy. However, the case quickly takes a supernatural turn and things become more dangerous than initially expected. The game was released in 2014 and it shows; the plot…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short version: 41% Shtriga is a storyless string of tedious item hunts and great hidden object scenes, but at least those scenes are good enough to recommend this game to anyone who likes some traditional HOG goodness. Long version: Shtriga: Summer Camp feels like a memory game wrapped in a hidden object game. Unlike most any HOGs, it uses two large hub areas, which means it is easy to get lost among its countless sub-screens and even easier to forget where to use any of the key items. It does…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got this game for free so I can't really complain - and thank you to user Lilly for giving it to me! I encountered a showstopper later in the game but the devs emailed me a fix. In saying so, it's probably not worth full price as there's less than 3 hours gameplay. The good Some challenging puzzles Music is subtle and non-repetitive Good visuals HO scenes are logical The bad Too short, less than three hours tops No replay value Some translation issues here and there
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short version: Pros: + Enjoyable gameplay (if a bit too easy) + Simple but solid attempt at a story + Visually interesting (apart from cutscenes) + Solid sound design Cons: - Several annoying puzzles, items to find and objectives - Some presentation flaws (mobile game vibes) "Long" version: Shtriga: Summer Camp is a point-and-click, hidden object game where you play as a woman (my understanding is that she is a private investigator) trying to save a young boy, who has been…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Boy howdy those people who gave this a thumbs up must have had the patience of a saint. The hint button recharges every single time you click on it. EVERY SINGLE TIME! So if your confused on where to go click the hint button and wait 1 minute for a recharge. Ugh. The game uses full screen however it looks fuzzy because thats the wrong resolution. There is no fast travel. The resolution for the game is 1024 by 768 so your forced to have bars on either side of the screen. If you click more then…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Welp. People already spoke all there is to say about the game in the reviews. All I will add is this: The game wasn't too hard or too easy. You don't get lost that often. (Phew!) I actually liked playing this and will take this game over any newer H.O.G. nowadays. >.> The only qualm I had with this game was that it was rather hard to click on some of the items in the H.O. scenes. I swear I clicked on that knife 7x and it still refused to pick it up... Lol... Otherwise? I'd play it…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hoo boy, where to begin... You play as a detective hired to locate a boy who went missing at summer camp. Upon arrival, you discover there's been some epidemic and the camp had to be quarantined. And then... Pretty much just chuck the plot out the window. There are clues to some questionable activities that are never fully explored, the quarantine subplot is completely abandoned, and the whole reason you're there is discarded until the very end. The game attempts to provide a spooky…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Note: I got the game for free, but from a kind Steam friend, not from the developer. So...not a crowning achievement of the Hidden Object genre, but it's still worth playing. :) In general, I'd say this is one of the easier HOGs I've played. As such, it's a good choice for somebody new to the genre or for a younger player. There were two puzzles that took some work (including a dreaded 4x4 slide puzzle), but the rest were pretty straightforward. The HO scenes were similarly…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Shtriga: Summer Camp is a pretty decent HOG. There are lots of hidden object scenes and many good puzzles. The story is lacking, but overall it's a pretty good game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Shtriga in your bed (girlfriend).
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →CREEPY AND SUMMER CAMP SHOULD NEVER GO TOGETHER Brenda Livingston is a paranormal detective who has been hired to find a young boy named Peter Wilson, who disappeared without a trace. A few weeks before Peter's disappearance, he began acting strangely and became fascinated with the strange phenomena surrounding the closure of a local summer camp. The camp was quarantined and eventually shut down after campers were stricken with a deadly epidemic, and three campers went missing; all three were…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Full disclosure: I got this title on sale for .99 cents USD. For that price, I had a lot of fun. It's an older HOG, so there's no voice acting and not too many cut scenes. But the hidden object scenes and mini games are plentiful. You can even skip a mini game if you get stumped and the setting was certainly eerie and atmospheric.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is mainly hidden objects with some puzzles. I would prefer at least equal amount. There is no bonus game and there is no map in the game although the puzzles and hidden objects are usually near by. So, many times you don't know what to do next, which it forces you to click hint. The hidden objects and puzzles are not hard. The story is ok. I think if you like hidden object games, this game probably will fill your crave. Better wait for the discount.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am a big HOG lover and couldnt wait to add this game to my collection. It is an HOG with a little horror element in the story and the music helps a lot to point it more out, but here are my thoughts: Pro Music Art (The HO-scenes are especially beautiful. Achievments! (I am an achievment collector and love to get them even if they are autocollect like in this game) Con Story. For me it isnt only important that the HO scences are great but also the story need to be…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Thumbs down. I didn’t like the story and there was too much pixel hunting to find the hotspots. This game could have really used an interactive map to reduce all the backtracking. I had some hope when I found a map of the summer camp, but I soon realized that finding the camp map didn’t actually activate any helpful functions like instant travel. Once you’ve played a few games with an interactive map, it just seems like an obvious feature to have and it’s disappointing when not available.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The horror setting of this game with dark evil the Shtriga is not so usual, maybe really original. But I think they did not used the potential as much as they could. You can feel some thrill or connection with the place but only in the first half of gameplay. Shtriga has no effect on you and her obstacles you can solve in a few steps. The game is a bit too linear and you can notice it in the second half especially. Yes it is typical for HOG but it is too intensive here. Nice animated parts.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a bit short, but the story is great. Wouldn't buy it for full price though I feel it's to short for that price tag.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'd recommend this game to those who have played HO games before, as it is fairly complex, with no map and loads of areas and many items at a time that you keep in your inventory. The graphics are great and I love the theme of a kid's summer camp with mysterious disappearances. The game is lacking in terms of an ongoing story through cutscenes and it doesn't offer much narrative - which personally doesn't bother me. What it does have however is loads of HOG scenes and easy-medium difficulty…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →NOT WORTH BUYING! One of the worst HOG Games i ever played. This game has an absolute borring storry, with bad music, no voiceacting (not even in the "movies"), the puzzles are absolute illogical, the whole gameplay is absolute trash. you have to wait ages for the hint button and if you use it to find a direction, because the game is not logic what to do, then it leads you not direct to what to do, you have to click-wait-click on every screen till you are on the right direction. and you have…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While it worked, this game doesn't even have the excuse of decent puzzles or a really dumb but fun plot to get me to recommend it. The game boots up, doesn't stutter, and has puzzles, but to what end? It's just such a nothing experience. I guess it's under 5 bucks, so that might be motivation to try it, especially if you get this in a bundle with some other games you actually want, if it's on sale (I originally bought it for under a dollar, which was about right for how much I got out of it),…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another decent B movie experience, with everything you expect from a HO game. The only thing that kept getting me stuck is when HO scenes would repeat and in order to progress you need to back track to an area to do them again. Also managed to miss some objects early on and get further into the game without finding them than I would expect to, also causing me to get stuck for a bit. Puzzles are okay, nothing too annoying or obtuse. I did one run without hints so my experience is probably a bit…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Too old to play enjoyably these days. The terrible 4:3 CRT resolution makes the HOG scenes too blurry to make out well enough to comfortably complete them.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →a short enjoyable HOG that is worth trying. as far as google has told me Shtriga is some kind of a demon from Albania? seen enough of those in my life...... Pros. plain and simple. not much of back tracking as almost every item will be used within 2-3 scenes cons. short (a bit more than 2 hours for the main story) no bonus chapter very very easy. due its short game play time i only recommend it on sale. it is a good frustration free time waster. 7/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An old HOG with no voice acting. The story is mostly told through the journal. The music and atmosphere is spooky. You need to know your tools for a lot of the HO scenes :P There is a nice variety of puzzles. There is no map, so you have to walk back and forth and remember where things are for yourself. The remaining achievements popped during the credits for me. Even though this is old, I do recommend for anyone who likes spooky HOGs and is up for a challenge (I played on expert).
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a routine hidden object/puzzle game with a supernatural theme. There are literally hundreds of these games on Steam. This one is not a good one, there's no widescreen or high resolution support. It's impossible to recommend.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game, great fun. Achievements add extra challenge.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Because Steam doesn't have a "Maybe" option for recommending, this one barely squeaks by as a recommend, although in my opinion it's kind of a "meh" game. The story is... not bad? You play as a PI hired to investigate the abduction of a child, which takes you to a closed down summer camp. It turns out to be a Shtriga (surprise! Hope the name of the game didn't spoil it for you), a witch from Albanian folklore. The game stays sort of true to the folklore of it. The visuals are pretty nice, but…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a bit too easy, but at least it isn't too cheesy A quick, fun experience for newbies to the genre of hidden object games make this one passable for me. The achievements are easy to accomplish, expert mode isn't forced upon you if you're looking for a faster finish, and there isn't too many video fluff sequences to interfere with your flow. I was surprised by a few slightly tougher objects in the hidden mess scenes, but overall it's pretty easy. There are a few confusing terms too -…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Qualitywise it's OK. It plays like work tho, the story is trash, the animations are trash and it's no fun. Can't recommend.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A pretty short 2 hour run-of-the-mill HOG that doesn't seem to have anything new to the table. It works pretty well if you're just here for the gaming aspect of HOGs, I've encountered no bugs or issues others have voiced out. Fair warning though, both the puzzles and hidden object scene of this game pose no challenge which could equate to a very dull experience. There are maybe 1 or 2 puzzles that pass the time enough, but again it might fall into tediousness than actual difficulty. There are…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Average to okay story but the number of bugs means it hasn't been playtested properly before release. Issues include the Smiley Face Tokens which can prevent you from progressing if you fail to pick them up at the right time, a full screen bug which affects the cursor and some of the later messages appearing as ascii characters.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A short and easy HOG with a simple but decent story.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The story in this casual point-and-click adventure won't wow you, and the hidden-object scenes and puzzle mini-games are quite easy, but the adventuring is nice, varied, and satisfying. All in all, not a bad game and would be a pleasant, if easy, experience for fans of the genre.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a relatively straight forward HOG. There's no map or fast travel but you really won't need it. As other's have noted the story is paper thin and you don't really know why your doing some things. If you've play HOG's before you'll pretty much know what to do in any situation. Only problem I got was getting stuck where the statues are at the end. There a section of one of the bases that pops open. Once I noticed that everything else went smothly. Some item descriptions could have used…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is not an awful game, but it was a lot of shortcomings, so I cannot recommend it. Pros: - Almost no backtracking. Although it doesn't have a map, you won't really miss it. - It could have been a very good game, with a little polishing. Cons: - It could really use more of a story, throughout the game. We get a let of story in the beginning, but the rest is boring. - Because of inadequate story exposition, most actions seem irrelevant. I guess they would make more sense if we followed a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a fun little horror Hidden Object game. The animations are a bit naff, but the atmosphere is good and the puzzles are fun. It's well worth the small price.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The item I was supposed to get from a HO scene is not in the inventory and I cannot continue without it. I had to find a walkthrough video to figure out what was going wrong as I got totally stuck. I am definitely not going to start this buggy game again.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Shtriga's only problem - it is content to sit in mediocrity. Everything about it can be described as ok. The puzzles are ok. The story is ok. The graphics are ok. The sound is ok (although there are no voiceovers). I mean, I guess I can stretch to find a few positives... they don't make you replay the gain to get achievements... the puzzles are pretty straightforward and nothing out to lunch. There is no map, so you do tend to wander to find what to do next, but you never have to wander far,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its OK, there isn't a map but most of the items you need are in a close area to the end, you basically finish an few scenes and move on (but can go back if you want) I needed to find a couple of things on a walkthrough. art was Ok. atmosphere I liked. wasn't fussed about the story. puzzles were ok.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There's a bug that stops you in your tracks in the first bit. I had to restart from the beginning to get that to work, but could complete it after that. Get it on deep discount. Not amazing, but not terrible.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Meh, it's okay. Sure doesn't have the style & polish of the newer games, kinda skimps on features too (no collectables, etc). Still finished the game though, so it wasn't that bad overall.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An older HOG and as such is missing some QoL features you may be used to in modern games like instant travel, map, etc. It's also a short game, someone experienced in hidden object games may be able to finish it in 2-3 hours. The story is good enough, the art is well done and does a good job at setting a nice, spooky, atmosphere. If you particularly like horror in your HOGs and are looking for something you haven't played yet try this out. I will also say wait for a sale, I got it for like .60…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not entirely bad but a little bit boring for my taste. The HOS´ and the minigames are pretty easy, but there were a few moments were the protagonist threw stuff away that you need a little time after. Still i can really recommend it, due to mostly beeing boring
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Shtriga: Summer Camp. Worried mother Emily Wilson sends help wanted letter to investigator Brenda Livingston (You), about their 13 year old son Peter Wilson who went missing month ago. Turns out Peter was taken by a witch called Shtriga. You explore the summer camp site & dive in to spooky caves until you find Peter and take them safely home leaving witch behind! I was split between this, do i give it a thumbs up or down. It was close thumbs down, but i think it is still decent, nothing…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While there are some graphical glitches and click-box issues, this game is a decent HOG. The story isn't that interesting, but the atmosphere is on-point and the puzzles are (usually) fun. It does have some of my least favorite puzzle types sprinkled in, but that's what skip buttons are for! Worth a play. Just wish you could actually take the map from the sign in the beginning and use it as navigation!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a perfect PnC for first timers and young ones or. It is on the easier side. For well versed players - this can be utilised as a wind down game. Achievements were easily achievable.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not bad, has a TON of areas but needs a bit of polish. Hint takes one full minute (not adjustable), and has a click penalty on puzzles as if you're a grade schooler that needs correction for misbehavior. Overall an interesting game especially if you get it on sale.

I do play in 2 different devices, so that counts against the game for me. it doesn't have VO which is not good in my book. Especially given the supposed release date of this game. I do like that it keeps a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'll keep it short: It's one of the "not so good" hidden objects games. There is no reason for you to pick up this game as long as there are so many better games of the genre to play. It features a story delivered with zero emotions, no logic (even for a fantasy setting), and a disappointing ending. The game generally moves you forward from one set of rooms to the next with no need to revisit previous areas. Except for a select few cases that make you backtrack. For this reason it's impossible…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An enjoyable H.O.G. game with decent horror atmosphere
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Only play if you've exhausted the majority of the HOG's on Steam. Why? Because there's no map, it's often unclear what you're supposed to be doing next and important items/activities that you need to progress can only be found by roaming the pointer around every scene waiting for it to change into a magnifying glass. Also there are multiple instances where you need something to progress, already have something in your inventory that could be used for the purpose but doesn't work because it's…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'd definitely recommend this for the current price of $3.99. It's a basic Hidden Object game set in an abandoned summer camp where children have gone missing. The plot is... pretty ludicrous. But on the plus side, the artwork is terrific and the HO puzzles look like scenes you'd find in a more or less real setting. In other words, you don't find pianos on the ceiling and that kind of silliness. The scenes look like you're rummaging through old buildings with a lot of debris around. The puzzles…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Surprisingly lengthy and enjoyable HOG.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it's not bad. it is a good game just slightly boring in some areas. But it was worth it in the end.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After playing this game for about 3 hours and getting towards the end I needed to find 2 pieces of a gate locket to continue. There is no second piece to the gate locket. And clicking the hint only tells me to place the one I have in the gate which you can't without the second piece. After looking the issue up online I discovered that this is a common issue with this game and there is no way for me to complete the game. I'm now annoyed. It was fun up until that point. I'm just glad I only paid…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is fine, It can be enjoyed, if in the right mood. But it is a total failure, if you are a hardcore puzzle fan. @Mini-games are no challenge at all Repeating a 6-step pattern in a ''Simon says'' like game is no puzzle. @The logic is lacking Why do I have to work my butt-off to look for a tap, to make water flow and fill a jug with water, if I could have simply carried over some water from the screen before, where I LEFT A WATER FAUCET GUSHING OUT GALLONS OF WATER? Yes- I am very…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was very entertaining to play, I've played through it twice now.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just don't bother with this one. It has annoying arrows on everything showing you exactly where you need to go or where you should go even if you pick expert mode. This is just terrible.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very good HoG game. Good puzzles and good HoG sections. Graphics are fine and the story is OK. No quick travel or speech. 9/10.
