You do not need to play the previous games to understand the story. It is also heavier on the adventure portion than most modern hidden object games - I'd say about 50% adventure, and 50% HO scenes. Options include separate sliders for music, environment and sound effects, custom cursor, appearance (full-screen, windowed or wide-screen), attitude (normal, Southern or…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mystery Case Files: 13th Skull is an adventure hidden objects game and the 7th in the series. This game's story can be played alone as they'll not mention anything about the previous games. Originally developed and published by Big Fish Games, released back in 2010. The story about a family newly moved to an inherited house in Louisiana, where an old tale about a pirate named Captain Crown who hid his treasure in the swamps where his ghost still guarding it and attacking whoever trying to dig…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is not a new game but ran fine on my windows 7 64bit. For those familiar with the MysteryCase Files series it's second to the top in the whole series in my opinion. (Dire Grove comes first) (I have this game on another game site but couldn't resist a recent sale . I have played it a few times off steam and 2 times on. So it's that good. ) It is compatible with newer computers apparently, so yay! This is a hog game yes, but one that is very unique in that it incorporates live…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really love this game. It's a kinda like Mystery Case Files: Return to Ravenhearst. Some puzzles are a kinda tricky but you can use the walkthrough that's within the game itself. 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have to say, this was the most fun hidden object game I've ever played, so far. The story and real life actors kept me engaged and wanting more. I hope they go back to real life actors. The realism makes the game so much more immersive.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really enjoyed this game and the storyline. When you need a break from the stresses of life and to zone out and challenge your mind and listen carefully to the clues the actors give, sometimes having to go back and talk to them again to nail the clue they gave you and it hits you it’s very satisfying to put together the clues. This game is a winner and since it’s currently on sale you can’t beat the price!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was not a fun game by any stretch of the imagination. If you like fetch quests, this is the game for you. It's literally all fetch quests. Every single person you talk to wants you to go grab 6-10 items of their choosing before they will point you to the next person who wants you to pick up their stuff. Why? Because game, that's why. I can't even remember what any of the puzzles were like, if they even existed in the first place. I do remember going around to the same locations over and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played well over a dozen of the Mystery Case Files games back in the day before I left BF games and made Steam my gaming home. This is a great series with great storylines. This game, however, can be played without having played any of the other games as it's more of a stand alone game. You can right click on the Nvidia message that might pop and click to NOT show any more messages like this from Nvidia and then you can go 'full screen' with a black border on the left and right sides.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Excellent HOG, the use of FMV really highlights this game and made it a ton of fun. The game plays as a series of mini-quests which I find enjoyable and keeps you from feeling lost in such a huge map! HO scenes are decent and puzzles are a bit more puzzlely than normal but still enjoyable. Characters are awesome, they all have various crazy personalities, Cooter even farts! There was a very cool puzzle where I had to plunge the bar toilet and make some calls to learn the "secret sauce". My only…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've been playing MCF games for a long time, starting with Madame Fate, around the time that game came out. I've since gone back and played the first few games in the series, and also a fair few of the later ones. To me, 13th Skull is the absolute pinnacle of the series, my most loved game of them all, and possibly the best Hidden Object Adventure I ever played. The puzzles are good, starting with the "local" puzzles, and then also including the "meta" puzzles that span the majority of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's the 7th game in the series (6th one isn't on steam) This game has scenes using real life actors, so It's voiced too. The story follows a family from ohio. The game is set in a big mansion. There's no timer. The hints dont show the area where the item is, they just point at the item. In general this game has a completly different feel to it in comparison to the previous titles. I didnt like it at first, but it grew on me. I enjoyed the story, but I did not like the ending.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A good hidden item puzzle game, with a pretty decent story to boot. If you are aware of any of the other Mystery Case Files games, this one is more story driven than the others. I will always hold the Mystery Case File series in my heart, as the were the only games I played with my Dad.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I miss when games were genuinely made with love like this and not some corporate procedure like the newer installments.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Buri Hamachi! Master Detective from Mystery Case Files btw [the grapes is a running thing I've noticed where there's grapes in at least one hidden object scene in every game and it became a joke for me lol] #animation #mysterycasefiles #mcf
unlabelledView post →This is one of the best point and click hidden object games ever made, and a very fun pirate themed adventure. It uses live actors which adds quite a bit of quality to the scenes. And it's also among the best entries of the MCF series, alongside Return to Ravenhearst and Dire Grove. This game also has trading cards, but for some reason the Steam store page doesn't show it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This might be one of the most robust HoGs I've played. I love the live-action actors, the puzzles are pretty good (I have had to skip one because it didn't work, and I had to look up one hint so far). Honestly, I highly recommend it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like the Mystery Case Files series, and I recommend the later games. But for this one, I honestly found some of the puzzles to be unintuitive, and occasionally frustrating. There is a reaction-based puzzle that is very easy to fail by accident (the number of times I had to restart that flower puzzle because I'd accidentally clicked too close to the bench and knocked the clippers out of my hands!!!). I liked the story, it was fun and over the top, but I just think there are better options.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've played a few of MCF games. This one and Return to Ravenhearst have been my favourites. I play them with my mother and it gives us one more reason to spend time together. The mystery is well thought out and pretty long to complete. The riddles are well balanced, not too simple but not frustrating either and fit very well into the story. We found ourselves stuck a couple of times, but that made opening up new areas to explore even more satisfying. Some of the earlier games in the series go…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →13th Skull is an interesting game, much like the other Mystery Case Files games to date, offers great game play, great story, awesomely unforgettable characters and the hunt and peck fun. The game chose even more challenge for players and has a great mystery in it for you to figure out, do you have what it takes?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like the premise of this game, but the plot is very slow moving and at many times uninspired. The puzzles in my opinion were not very difficult, however the hidden object scenes were absurdly hard. It seems the devs went out of there way to make each hidden object scene a jumble mess, with bland undiscernible items; that blended in with other objects and the environment. I love a challenge, however it was overkill. I also didn't like the fact that unlike other HO games you couldn't pick up…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Excellent game. I really enjoyed it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun from my childhood.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is just like all the other classic mystery case file games. It brings up a lot of nostalgia from when I played this as an adolescent with my mother late at night, eating cheese puffs and drinking soda (wine when I got older). We never finished it when I was young, due to changing computers. Now we were able to play to completion and solve the case, with a twist ending that never either of us were expecting and a truly enjoyable & creative collectors edition ending. This truly was the last…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mystery Case Files:13th Skull is one of the finest created by Big Fish Game Studios. It has the same great vibe as Dire Grove (not quite the same spookiness and no morphing objects). However, there are some fun puzzles (only one or two I would consider great) and the story is wonderful and plays well. The addition of real people is the icing on the cake and adds so much to the game. You can even choose an attitude level (I always like 'Snarky'), and play an actual game of checkers! All in…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The only thing that i dont like in this game is that you have to go back and forth all the time. Aside from this a pretty good game. Most of the puzzles are normal difficulty and the characters are both seriously mad and funny. All in one a pretty solid game that i can recommend. A little tip tap the mirror in the mansions bathroom a few times and read what the detective says about it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun little game. Brought back some memories. I think I played a lot of similar games when I was younger.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →played this since i was a lil kid because my aunt had it downloaded on her pc <3 pretty silly but enjoyable
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game. Nice story, lots of puzzles not just hidden objects. Wish there's more of these. Oldie but godie.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolutely cool game. I'm playing with my wife and we are completely fascinated from music, ambient, story. The small in-game games and puzzles are also very interesting and challenging. Searching for objects are really good to learn new words and practice english. The spoken slang is wonderful, hard to understand, but original.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is just beautiful. maybe not the best hidden object game you ever played but one of good ones.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has a lot to offer but the puzzles can be obtuse and the eavesdropping puzzle is the worst, it is unsolvable.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was the best MCF game I've played so far. Great puzzles. The acting was terrible and I loved it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Let's jump straight to bullet the points. Positives: + The live action cutscenes were pretty jarring at first, but after a few I found I actually liked them more than the usual CGI ones. + Although the direction is definitely hammy, I though the actual acting and voice acting was pretty good, considering. + The plot was better than most, as was the overall atmosphere. + The hidden object parts are some of the best I've seen. Some of these objects are well hidden. + Some of the 'slidy'…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I thought this would be fun, just like their old games. The instructions are very vague or hardly have instructions. Got me sitting here stressing out for nothing. Had to go youtube and google for the walkthrough and guide. Some of the puzzles are difficult to solve. This is not just another seek and find game, this requires you to solve puzzles. If you love solving puzzles that cracks your brain, this is a great one. I think this game has a bug or something, when I click the hint, the pop up…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another great MCF game! You will need to play it on windows, I have tried via proton, but it crashes when you change location.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →intriguing story, great live action character actors, great graphics, lots of fun, creative puzzles, mind bending hidden object iamages.... the list goes on. Loved every one of the games in this series so far. It's a pity the one before this 'Dire Grove'in not available on Steam. And the version I downloaded from Big Fish would not work!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mystery Case Files: Prime Suspects, FULL GAME #MysteryCaseFiles #HiddenObject #BigFishGames youtu.be/lEEaKUdbS_Q?...
unlabelledView post →A laborious, convoluted experience in which you waste lots of time searching for needed objects (voodoo implements, gumbo ingredients, wine glasses, ad nauseam) hidden just about anywhere over the large landscape, accompanied by unintuitive puzzles, many of which I skipped. I liked the colorful environments and the voice overs with a motley assortment of characters but this just became an exercise in frustration after 6 hours of mouse clicking. Even watching multiple walkthroughs didn't help…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Most of the puzzles make no sense.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →awwwugaaa!!!!! I really like this game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the greatest games I've ever played, life changing, opened my eyes buy please 100/4
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this game in my childhood and I loved to play it again. I've had a lot of fun in there and also laughed at some good dialogs. Puzzles are kinda difficulty sometimes but still possible. Except for that one puzzle on the door where you can open the chest: it's impossible to solve. Otherwise it's still a very fun and good game :).
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Had me laughing my butt off! very entertaining and i really enjoyed this game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →one of the best MCF installments.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was not nearly as fun as Ravenhearst. Tried to give it time, but was really just a walk through. Disappointed.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →IT IS FUN. MUST SET GRAPHICS CARD TO HD
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I should have listened to the poor recommendations that list, the quest type, inventory and poor information about the surroundings. The quests revolve around speaking to a NPC then gathering the items they request. Very linear that it becomes boring, no challenge to it. The inventory is two fold, 1 listing items needed and the other, holding the items. The inventories over lapped, and switched constantly making it difficult to obtain information about the objects. It is a dreary setting. I…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There were too many games I had to get several hints for, or skip altogether. This is the first game I've had this many problems with.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game, I love the hammy acting. The puzzles are easy enough to figure out in the first half, but I must admit I kept a walkthrough by my side for the second half. Great music and atmosphere
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I thought I was going to like this game, and don't get me wrong the game is great, but I don't recommend it to ANYONE. I put several hours of effort into this game, and the game crashed. The steam account says I have invested 3 hours into the game, but when I click on the icon to get into the game, the game is making me start over. Before anyone asks, YES I SAVED THE GAME BEFORE EXITING EVERY SINGLE TIME. Some people like playing games over and over, but I am not one of those people. I do not…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Please make Dire Grove available on steam!!! I'm begging you. It's my favorite and I miss it terribly. Love this game. It works on steam deck, but it kept freezing and I had to keep restarting, even with Proton GE. I finally decided to try an older proton ( I used Proton 5. something ) it works flawlessly after that. No issues. Also I would like to see nightfall mysteries Asylum conspiracy, and campfire mysteries the hook man and it's subsequent sequels. Also a bigger choice of these…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun detective mystery set in the Deep South, with fun puzzles and a strong atmosphere. I really enjoyed the FMV-style live actors.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The main game is okay, but it has the first and the best bonus chapter in the series.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a challenging hidden object game. you can drop into it and out as you wish. I played it some years ago with success. Playing it again now is just a puzzling as the first time. It is really immersive.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The doll thing got on my nerves
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The production value is higher on this than a lot of HOGs-- the actors are quite fun, in this game-- but the puzzles are often introduced with no sense of what the goal of the puzzle is. I had to rely on hints more than I wanted to compensate. Additionally, a few of the puzzles were a little too much for my tastes-- several were either too long for me, or just really boring overall. Of course hidden object games can have a puzzle or two you don't enjoy, but this one seemed to have more than…
