People are disappearing in Blackpool, bringing our detective back to the gates of the now-ruined Ravenhearst Manor once again. Options include separate sliders for Music, Effects and Environment, Windowed, Custom Cursor, Hi-def and Subtitles. Choice of Casual or Master Detective ("Quit Holding My Hand!") mode. What can I say about this game? Big Fish was once again pushing the envelope when…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was slightly excited there was a new Mystery Case Files game, Escape From Ravenhearst, released until I played it. I have played the other Mystery Case Files games and enjoyed them. This one I played for about an hour and could not take any more because the game play changed. Up to the point I quit playing, instead of finding hidden objects you now find objects which change appearance or morph. There was a previous game which had these morphing objects but they were specials. Puzzles…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In the first and second games the mechanism was a standard search-and-find, where you look for the named object and that's that. A lot of people were displeased that it changes to a game where you have to search for objects that shift in shape instead of objects on a list. I suppose some don't like change, but this did not bother me. I will admit it does get slightly easier than it was before, but they do attempt to raise the difficulty by replacing still, picture environments to search in,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It was a great, creeepy followup story, but the gameplay for the puzzles was really lacking. Every single find object puzzle was a morphing one, which were super easy. Hardly any objects to click on in most of them, so you could breeze through in 20-30 seconds just by clicking on everything. Your journal doesn't write down the clues you see anymore, so make sure you have some paper handy. If you're a completionist like I am, I'd say buy for the story, but if the hidden object was the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Creepier than earlier games. What anoyed me most, that searching for hidden objects is raplaced with searching for morphing objects (which was a bonus in some ealier games). You can locate first objects pretty fast, but when only few remain, you have to continue staring at the specific part of the screen to notice motion (especially with smaller objects) and object morphs like one every 30 or 60 seconds. Besides that, it would be an ok game if not the technical problems - the crashes a lot or…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game Information "Mystery Case Files: Escape from Ravenhearst" is a Hidden Object Puzzle Adventure game. The game was developed and published by Big Fish Games Studio. "Escape from Ravenhearst" is the eighth episode of "Mystery Case Files." Previous episodes: "Huntsville;" "Prime Suspects;" "Ravenhearst;" "Madame Fate;" "Return to Ravenhearst;" "Dire Grove" and "13th Skull." Even though the game is not labelled as a collector's edition, it has some extra features that are not available in…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't like this game, just how many times can you reuse the ravensheart setting before it gets dull? They also introduced morphing objects instead of hidden objects. So you have to stare at one spot to see if it changes. However there's one good thing about this game, the atmosphere in the 2nd half of the game does get creepy, disturbing and disgusting.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have played plenty of messed up games over the years, and Escape from Ravenhearst is certainly one of them. The content warning was inadequate. I didn't blink through any of the gross out or gory parts, but I don't think one has to be "faint of heart" not to want to listen to ambient child abuse sound effects while playing a casual hidden object game. I'm not talking about a scene within the *context* of the story - I am talking about using it as background noise. If someone on the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mystery Case Files®: Escape from Ravenhearst™ is a captivating hidden object puzzle adventure that builds upon the foundations of its acclaimed predecessor, offering an atmospheric and immersive experience that blends intricate storytelling with challenging gameplay. Developed by Big Fish Games, this title is a standout in the hidden object genre, known for its richly detailed scenes, clever puzzles, and a dark narrative that pulls players deeper into the eerie world of Ravenhearst Manor. The…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love MCF so bought this when on sale. Horribly buggy and has crashed three separate times in four hours of gameplay. Buy it from Big Fish's website, not Steam. EDIT: Had forgot how buggy this game was and attempted to replay it. Got about halfway through and after 6 separate red screens/freezes, I gave up.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm giving it a positive because it was fun, but this is also a frustrating game on several levels. As HO games go, it's along the more contrived and arbitrary lines of logic, sometimes leading to angrily clicking on a locked box with a pickaxe going "IT'S WOOD, JUST BREAK IT" while the game patiently waits for you to locate the item it WANTS you to pry it open with. I also had a lot of problems with the game crashing out when I moved too fast or did something unexpected, either red-screening…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Buri Hamachi! Master Detective from Mystery Case Files btw [the grapes is a running thing I've noticed where there's grapes in at least one hidden object scene in every game and it became a joke for me lol] #animation #mysterycasefiles #mcf

CHAPPED LIPS. CHUNKY MASCARA. KNOBBY KNEES. AI SLOP. Please someone bring back weird corny I spy games like this. I miss them so much. These old mystery case file games make my soul happy. Bad actors and all.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is really good story wise and what not but my god the amount of crashes and glitches make it almost unplayable... im still play it tho cos the story is that good
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is super buggy. I would have to force close and restart it just to continue moving. One of the puzzles only showed up as a red screen. Also I had to restart the game because of the blue pill glitch.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really good hidden mystery / puzzle game. The second and third one was really well designed. Very fun to play as a group - I played this with my family and we thoroughly enjoyed it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would love to recommend this game, but it is far, far too broken right now. My friends and I ran into some soft locking before I had to switch to a new hard drive. We gave up after the 3rd time it happened. So, new hard drive, still Windows 10 regular edition. Re-installing the game was a challenge because the first install would not work, the game window just kept disappearing. A few restarts and another reinstall later and it worked but I couldn't find the save data to restore. (It…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i've played all of the ravenhearst games and each is as good as the last. this one is challenging and entertaining with a gripping storyline to it that will keep players on the game for hours on end to continue the mystery to its finale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty solid game, but I am not a fan of the "changing objects" idea. They should've stuck with the original idea of finding objects. The ending was also a little anticlimatic
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I just have to recommend this part because its just such a cool and intereting story. Its just so sad and disappointing that this is the most broken game of the series. I normally have to restart the game like 10 times in a playthrough, But still its so worth doing it because the acting of the people is so good and makes so much fun too look at. So please play it for yourself and have the mental strength to play through it even if its kinda annoying. I think its the best part of the series. I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Folks at Big Fish Studios, you ok? I'm hoping that this was a brainstorming session that went overboard rather than someone's lived experience. This game is not for the squeamish: bodily fluids, childhood trauma, even a little participation in dummy abuse. It's also not for the impatient. With the switch to morphing object scenes, you could be waiting and staring and staring and waiting to get the last one or two items. Even worse, this game crashes a lot. Sometimes every few minutes.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i was able to get as far as exploring the house with the fat lady stuck upstairs i cant proceed to unlock another door releasing a person due to the game having a bug and not giving me the 5th blue pill needed to release the next key i love these games but at this point do not buy this game you will also have the same issues as i do its not worth it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I picked this up during the winter sale and was pleasantly surprised by it. I've never tried the Mystery Case Files games before and really liked playing this one. The live actors were good and well integrated with the graphics in the game. The morphing objects instead of hidden objects was a nice change. Even the credits were amusing with morphing job titles. I have windows 10 with wide screen monitor and had no issues with gameplay. So thumbs up!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Much as I enjoy this game, the developers really need to fix it. It's fun to play, but it's tedious the way I have to keep resetting it when it freezes or just shows a red screen
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a great game with some absolutely disgusting, stomach turning and horrible details and puzzles but... the game soft locks and freezes up so frequently in the 4th act, it's barely playable.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →good game but it kept freezing idk if that is a me problem or a game problem
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unfortunately, this game is incredibly glitchy. The storyline is fun, the locations are wonderful, but I cannot recommend this. I had to stop and start the game multiple times after it would freeze, the screen would go bright red sometimes, it crashed a few times, and eventually I was softlocked and unable to complete the game. It's a real shame.

unlabelledView post →Mystery Case Files seems to have the formula for hidden-object-puzzle-detective games perfected. Giant company ethics aside, Escape from Ravenhearst is another solid title in the genre.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First time i played it i was simply amazed of how complex it is, and the creative ideas just left me speachless. I loved it as much as the second Ravenhearst. I would recommed to anyone who enojyed the second one, to play this one.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a huge departure from the original series and that's why I don't recommend it. It is basically a "Telltale Games style" point and click adventure. For me, I wanted this to be another hidden objects game but it's technically not. It's really a puzzle solving game. The bottom line is (in my opinion), the publishers added more stuff fans don't want, and got rid of the stuff fans do want. The only reason to play this game is to uncover more of the story of the Ravenhearst series.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I dislike how they made the object search ONLY morphing objects. they completely switched the gameplay of the entire series. The puzzles were either way to complicated or way too easy, little to no middle ground. compared to the first two, this one is terrible. but, it is essential to understanding the overall plot to the ravenhearst arc, so if you're interested in getting the full story, i just recommend using a walkthrough through the whole game and save yourself a couple hours.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I thought this was going to be the Collector's Edition like the others, but it isn't. Fairly disappointed, but hopefully this can be remedied and updated later. I heard this game was buggy, but it never crashed for me. I was able to play all the way through to the end, no problem.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I Love this game don't get me wrong. I thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere it created and it felt like the stakes were higher in this game compared to the last. The soundtrack was good and the new places were creepy as all hell. It really made me glad that it was just a point and click adventure. The reason for the down vote is purely because the game crashes alot. If you love this series and are willing to risk it then I'd buy this game when it's on sale, perhaps you'll have better luck than I.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →so because i had nostalgia for the first 2 games i decided to purchase the entire Ravenhearst series, the first two games went well, played well, all a round fun time. then we come to Ravenhearst 3, this game is so glitchy and buggy, it kept crashing comptly locking up my computer until i did a restart, but i sludged my way through. that is until it wouldn't let me finish the game because i couldn't examine pile of rocks to get the final handle. in closeing: DO NOT PURCHASE! it is too buggy…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Friend bought this for me because I enjoy puzzle games, but this game isn't it. While some of the puzzles can be fun, they're not very engaging and some of them are incredibly difficult to understand with very little help to understand them. On top of all of that, this game is full of bugs. I've had to hard restart the game MULTIPLE times due to assets disappearing, (only showing bright red boxes where they should be), not working (not being able to advance through rooms or use items even…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great puzzles and dark atmosphere, very resident evil esque but in point-and-click adventure style.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Escape from Ravenhearst is one of the last Mystery Case Files games Big Fish Studios worked on. And while I REALLY wanted to be a fan of this game, it's simply not worth it. Pros: The game has some beautiful atmosphere—some of the best of the original Big Fish series. While it's not perfect, the game tries to expand on the Ravenhearst story and tie up loose ends in the series. Cons: Traversing in this game is a slog; there are sections that require frequent backtracking across many areas,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →THE best collectors edition I have ever played. The aesthetic in this game is what every one should have stayed as, ITS SO GOOD! Only problem is the excessive crashing, I think the game just does not work well on older devices. oh well..
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love hidden object games as both a relaxation method and brain workout. This was an edge lord slog of terrible puzzles, bugs, and waiting for objects to morph in order to get a ghost to help me out. It's also gross. Like, one of the puzzles involves toe nail clippings, nose hair, and pus. The only way this game makes sense is that the team behind it escaped from a mental hospital.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is meh at best. Why they decided to change how finding objects works, I'll never know. Progressing through this is a slog and I have 50 clues that don't help in any form or fashion. Got stuck looking for a way to progress after I messed up the lighthouse, and it feels like there's no clear way forward with anything I have in my inventory. There's no 'ah hah' to it, and it just feels like I'm wandering around aimlessly trying to figure out what the hell I need this water filled bucket,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →About the story. Comparing to the previous Ravenhearst games this felt like someone's unresolved parental issues. Not optimized for modern software, runs poorly on modern windows and kept crashing. Had fun, was entertaining but issues overwhelm the experience
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unlike previous games that were quite light-hearted this one is quite uncomfortable at times taking on issues of domestic abuse, childhood trauma, human experimentation, all seen through the eyes of a twisted individual who wants you to suffer as they did, simply because you put an end to their activities in a previous episode of MCF. Standard HOPA mechanics are replaced by morphing objects, so it's quite tedious simply sitting and waiting for something to change. The puzzles are quite taxing…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the game where Mystery Case Files officially jumps the shark and loses the plot. There are no hidden object sequences, instead the game introduces morphing objects - which are much less fun to search for. Additionally, the game is ridiculous and very dark and the atmosphere I enjoyed in the old games (great music, good artwork), is lost here as I have to mute the volume in some places (I don't love hearing children abused and childbirth while I'm trying to solve a puzzle). Not fun,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's enjoyable game with a well developed story and very good gameplay. 🎮 4/5 ⭐ 🎮
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unfortunate bug encountered completely stopped my game. (spoilers) once i got to the nurses station i was unable to go past the second letter in puzzle. Looked up name
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Сhallenging puzzles, an engaging storyline and a hauntingly atmospheric soundtrack. Please note: this game may retraumatize individuals with complex PTSD caused by a difficult childhood.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →PROTIP: DO NOT PROCEED TOO QUICKLY FROM ONE LOCATION TO THE NEXT, ELSE THE GAME WILL HANG This game runs worse than the other games in the series for whatever reason I would also recommend using the Bigfish walktrough if the games gets too cryptic Other than that, this is probably the best game in the series
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The absolute best of the Ravenhearst games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a very disappointed fan of the series it's hard for me to say it but don't buy this game - it crashes A LOT! Although a great story, really creepy and filled with great puzzles - it's simply broken and barely playable.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I remember playing this game as a kid and absolutely loving it so I decided to replay it. To be honest, the story still stands as one of my favorites in the series.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →ok. time to stop #FoM for some #hiddenobjectgames as the new #MysteryCaseFiles game is out!! woohooo! #gamergal www.bigfishgames.com/us/en/games/...

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I loved it! Very spooky, good puzzles.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The story of this game is great, but with the constant freezing up and having to close the games well over 10 times just to continue on I cannot recommend this game as it makes the game play super frustrating. I don't know why this one is so bad compared the the previous 2 games as I had no issues with those.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its a fun game but it freezes A LOT.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mystery Case Files: Escape from Ravenhearst, is of course a really great game and I had no problems playing it in Windows 11. There are some disturbing parts, even disturbing to adults, but remember, it's a game, not reality. This game was a real project to produce and the quality shows, a very thorough gaming experience that doesn't leave you disappointed or unsatisfied.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →interesting story and fun puzzles. a bit annoying how it continuously stopped responding towards the end so i hard to restart the game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Interesting that the game is split into episodes rather than one continuous game. Enjoyed it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have loved the Ravenhearst series since I first played the games in the early '00s. The Rube Goldberg-esque master puzzles are fascinating and engaging and break up the common seek and find standard areas. The ambiance and world-building is grounded in reality with just enough fantastical elements to engage those who love some good fantasy/magic in with their historical fiction. The story line is way more engaging and better written than a lot of others I've played, too.
