Live acting is not entirely unheard of when it comes to the genre, but it's rarely pulled of as well as it is here, usually because the games try to take themselves entirely too seriously. While the actors aren't the most "seasoned," you can tell they're having a lot of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Questerium: Sinister Trinity HD is a well-made hidden object game that I'd put up near my top recommendations in this genre. While the formula is familiar -- a mystery unfolds and is solved through a combination of cut scenes, hidden object hunts, solving mini-game puzzles, and finding necessary objects to progress through the story -- the execution is good and the game is fun. The use of live actors in the animated setting was an interesting choice that certainly sets this game apart. It's a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is surprisingly good, it does have a few flaws but this doesn't make it a bad game. The story about three men who used to be childhood friends, the grew up and each one practiced a different profession. A banker, professor, and a mayor. One day a meteor falls not too far from the city, and this sparked Professor Gustav interest as he learns that the meteorite is emanating some sort of unknown energy. He started his experiments without the mayor’s permission but he was supported by his…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Painfully average game with some major flaws. The adventuring consists of searching for missing objects or tools. Exactly one specific item can be used in every situation; you can't break a chain using an axe you already have, you have to find a katana. You can't break glass using a pickaxe, you have to get a stone. Why? Item locations are completely random. Often you have to solve a complex puzzle and get a key to open a safe just to find a simple knife inside (or something like that). The…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Questerium: Sinister Trinity HD ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Questerium is a hidden object style of game with a bit of a twist. In this one you have live characters. I personally like the mad professor Gustav with his great laugh and small inch to inch walk. Funny! You have to find objects from one area to another to help you progress within the story, as you would expect in that type of game. What I really like in Questerium is the challenging puzzles you encounter. This will get your brain…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In a nutshell: For every one thing this game does right, it messes up in another area. Recommended for the more challenging HOGs, difficult puzzles, unique collectibles, and goofy FMV acting if you like that kind of thing. Not recommended for the blah story, slow-as-hell pacing, far too much backtracking, and the many bugs that require fussing around and even deleting files just to get past unresponsive puzzles or locations. If you're the impatient type or don't like overly brain-taxing games,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First thought when I saw this game was "this will be just another game attempting to be as good as Artifex Mundi Hidden Object games". To be honest I was surprised that Questerium: Sinister Trinity is at least as good as AM games. Maybe even better. Some puzzles are not so easy, whole games is polished and have everything which good game like that should have. VERDICT: If you're a fan of Hidden Object games, you definitely should play this one. There is nothing revolutionary, but you won't be…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well this certainly was an interesting game! There are a lot of things happening in this game that might give you the impression it's a bad game, but it's not. Some cliche elements are present and it has other draw backs but over all it's worthy of playing. First the elephant in the room, the graphics. The game uses motion capture for the characters and it looks very weird and out of place. The actors are running around the game and they don't fit. However, this also adds a campy charm to the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Interesting Hidden Object Game. You either like them or you don't but as far as this genre goes I found this one to be well made and have it's own spin on things. It uses actors in some full motion video superimposed over drawn backgrounds and it gives it a fun B-movie feel, with a plot centering around a mad scientist and overgrown carnivorous plants, as well as being reminiscent of some old 90s FMV games like 7th Guest and Tex Murphy. There's 4 levels of difficulty here and at the hardest…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →questerium: sinister trinity is one of the few hidden object games using fmv, which is the only reason I wanted to play it, as I'm not a fan of the genre otherwise. I'd be royally screwed if every hog used real 'actors', though I doubt many would be this much fun. in this one an evil scientist does something evil that destroys a whole town and makes it look like audrey 2 took charge. you, a regular detective, are tasked with rescuing two kids, because apparently everything and everybody else…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Such a fun game. I played it years ago and enjoyed it this time every bit as much. More of a light adventure than a hog(I think there were only about 6 hog scenes in the entire game and they were interactive so did not bog one down.) LOVE the FMV sequences(yes they are a bit cheesy but hey, it's a game and added to the entertainment)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ok for a point and click hidden object game this one is rather decent. First the bad parts "Spolier Alert" There's the live action video characters running around. Which is so early 90tys. It's well done, but definately a what tha expeperiance when you see a clue photograph with a mix of live action image and oddly drawed fill in characters. "Spoiler over" The graphic style looks crude until you realize the heavy white line usage was a stylistic choice. Now the good parts It's fun. Nice…

The game was developed by URSE Games and published by Buka Entertainment. Since this is a collector's edition game, it comes with extra features that are not available in its counterpart; the standard edition. The Game Review Game Visuals I want to mention that the visuals in the game are well done. The visuals can be adjusted in the game's option menu. Game Audio I want to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Two children need your help to escape a town invaded by strange plants. However, a man manipulating electricity kidnapped them. And besides, there is a crazy doctor trying to stop you. So, what is really happening? The story could be resumed by a scientist being affected by a meteor and having used his own assistant as test subject and needed to be stopped before it's too late. However, the evil isn't always what may be at first sight. While the twist is welcomed, I suspected it when I got…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've settled on yes for recommending, because I did enjoy the game, despite a few major cons. Pros: - Some nice background art - The flower collectibles are pretty cool, and the secrets mechanic was a fun challenge - Decent story. I like the way it just throws you in as the detective without explaining too much like some othre games do. - Good HO scenes that weren't too easy - Unlike a lot of the other reviewers, I didn't experience any bugs (although I haven't played the bonus chapter yet).…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a good hidden object/casual adventure game with a quirky, but interesting story. The graphics look really good and it seems like they actually updated them for the Steam release. There are live action actors and while the dubbing isn't very good, the overall feel of the game makes the wonky acting feel kinda fitting. The music is decent, but also quite unspectacular. The puzzles are quite challenging with the exception of two or three that are just trial and error. The hidden object…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →7/10 genre: casual point and click/HO adventure game + the presentation is nice, with good implementation of live actors as the main characters + story is quite interesting in the sci-fi/mystery genre - you are afrer a mad scientist who's trying to use some king of energy for bad cause + casual adventure game, with inventory based puzzles, some mini-games/puzzles and hidden objects scenes - not much pixel hunting , scenes are clear and beautiful - secret places to discover where you collect…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is my type of game. I love hidden object and puzzle games like this. This one is done very different then most I have played. The hints are text hints instead of just pointing out where you need to go and I personally think that makes it more fun. It makes you think a bit more. The live action stuff also makes it interesting. I like the plot twist in the middle as well. Was not expecting that which is good. The story is good and fun. The only issue I had was with the bonus game. That…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great puzzling! Love the wacky areas :) If you like Puzzle games i think this is a must for you, im around 40min in, testing in on the hardest (no hints etc). And so far the puzzles and loco story is very fun! Well worth the 6bucks!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game's full title is Questerium: Sinister Trinity HD Collector's Edition but let's refer to it as Questerium for short. Questerium is a Hidden Objects Game (HOG) combined with Full Motion Video (FMV). It's not the best HOG I have played but it is worth playing. The puzzles are fun and even though (or maybe: because?) the acting is cheesy, the FMV really adds something special to this game. Story A meteor has struck near a town. It's emanating an unearthly energy and the resident…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another great addition to a small growing genre! Questerium: Sinister Trinity HD Is all I was hoping it would be! I was never big on hidden object games, until I played one of the House of 1,000 Doors games, then I was hooked. Needless to say, when I found out this game was coming out I had to give it a go. Questerium: Sinister Trinity takes you on a mixed journey of puzzles, hidden objects, and simple logic. Wrap it all up with a mysterious plot that will have your intrest just enough to get…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Meh, I play a lot of HOGs and I am usually pretty forgiving of them, but I found Questerium more irritating than fun. This is one of those games where nothing makes any sense and you have to spam the hint button every two minutes to find out what you are supposed to do next. For example, you find a lever -- and you have to throw it at a bird to scare it away? Or a pair of scissors which is used -- to pick a lock? What about the string you found a few screens back that needed to be cut? Nope,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Quite a solid HOG game that I enjoyed playing through. The graphics and music are fine for this type of game, though as is common for a HOG, the acting is kind of terrible, but its that kind of terrible thats amusing more than anything. Besides who playes a HOG for academy award winning acting? If you like HOG games there are certainly worse out there than this one and you will have a good time with it. If I had one gripe its that some of the puzzle minigames are not properly explained. One…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The terrible FMV just adds to this cheesy game. Occasionally it fails to register a click or has an inconveniently small hotspot, but that aside, it seems to be bug free for me. Puzzles are quite original and the HOG scenes are well themed, with fewer random junk heaps than most games. The story makes very little sense, so a typical HOG in that respect. Anyhoo, I had 6.8 hours of fun and consider this thing a bargain.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the game requires you to get a button out of the toolbox in the garage but wont let you even after you get everything else. cant go any farther in the game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is broken. The camera gets stucked all the time and it has some several graphic glitches. Do not buy it...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I thought Questerium would be a fairly standard Hidden Object/Puzzle game from Eastern Europe. That meant there would be some translation/dialogue problems, a story that would require magic mushrooms to comprehend, and a fair amount of random clicking to find the single, off-center pixel required to make two objects interact. What I did not expect was that the game would be an intentional?/unintentional? journey into full-motion-video game camp. It all started when that guy on the cover art,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amateurish, clunky game. Some decent graphics and scenes are ruined by game play and 'acting'. Bonus chapter is very buggy and appears to be unfinishable due to bugs.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First impression: Sensational! Questerium warps the Hidden Object genre into the 21st Century - finally :-) More interactivity, more 3D, more everything. I am looking forward to a very enjoyable game. Even gamers who prefer other genres (e.g. I'm basically an FPS player) should take a look. The pricing seems ok.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Breaks a lot of the HOG and point-and-click tropes that I don't especially like (like assuming the target audience only knows what lipstick and thimbles are, and not taking the time to do a really good native-language localization, neither of which Questerium is guilty of). The first person POV is, perhaps notably, gender-neutral. A lot of the HOG mini-games require constructing items before finding them. There's some clever, imaginative plot; definitely more than the average HOG. Great voice…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoyed it. A fun hidden object puzzle adventure in the vein of the best of the Artifex Mundi games, with some collectibles and secrets to discover throughout, as well as a bonus chapter. The live actors were absolutely terrible, as was the voice acting, and the decision to mix live actors in a computer game, reminiscent of games like The 7th Guest, was very misguided. However, it can't really take away from the simple charms of this kind of game. And the game itself is well designed and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Interesting storyline with refreshing live actors, great voice acting, and crisp modern graphics in a quirky Hidden Object Puzzle Adventure.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not normally a huge point n click fan, but this was pretty well done. Nothing was too unfair, and it was good fun to play with some 90's style compositing, cheesy acting and a decent amount of atmosphere.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I haven't played that many hidden object games in the past, so I'm not sure how they normally are quality wise. That said, I really liked this one. Pictures are sharp, colorful and pretty well drawn. I liked that they also added several logic puzzles as well. Played on hard for the achievements, so no use of hints or object highlighting. And that was quite a challenge. Puzzle elements were good. Nothing too obnoxious. And then there is the in-game fmv's.. Snippets of live actor performance…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Your typical and somewhat average HOG game, with oddly designed city, typical lack of any logic in the story and presence of common face-palm situations (like finding unblemished pistol bullet within burned-out ashes in a fireplace), and cutscenes with live actors whose performance is so bad that they’re downright hilarious. Nevertheless, the game has nice graphics, well-designed hidden object scenes and puzzles, obligatory secret hidden bonus items, and a minigame where you, as the detective,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game just annoyed me to a point where I don't even want to bother with the bonus content. It certainly is not the worst game, but it does lack logic.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Entertaining. This is an HO/puzzle game with all the traditional features. The story is kinda dumb but is funny. The graphics are modest but fine. No bugs, rather some glitches that are not game-breaking. Runs fine on Win 7. The game is pretty casual. There are a few head-scratchers but if you run out of patience there's the option to skip them. Several cutscenes with real actors that are so cheesy that you can't help but laugh. That's not bad, it adds to the fun. Overall, is just like any…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A bit of a toss up as to whether to recommend or not and eventually decided not for a few key reasons: 1. The acting is just AWFUL. That could make it funny, now it just makes it tedious. If it had been made in the '90s then I'd understand it, video capturing was a bit more primitive so characters had to gesticulate wildly so you knew it they were talking, but now it just feels like the game developers really couldn't be bothered. 2. Because the acting is so terrible, any cutscenes are…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Instead of animated cut scenes, they filmed live people who are terrible, terrible actors. It seems like they also hired voice actors, or recorded the voices very badly, because they don't line up with the people. The puzzles are unique and challenging, and there are a lot of hidden things to find (money, secrets, masks, flowers). If you play hidden object games for the puzzles, this is a great one for you. If you play it for the art or the storyline - pass this one. It's a mess.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →bonus play dont work
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a HOG game, with real actors filmed with green screens added in the scenes. The graphics are very beautiful, animated, colorful and dense; a bit comics style. Some inventory objects are shown in 3D when used. The voice overs are good. This odd mixing of different styles gives an amazing result which perfectly matches the strange and thrilling story. The mini games are okay and the search scenes are beautiful and fun to search through, with a lot of interactions. Moving around is not…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So a competent and potentially fairly ambitious hidden object game with the feel of a 50s B Movie, acting that Ed Wood would have demanded better, decent gameplay and pretty decent graphics (minus the oddity of having fmv embedded in cg scenes). The hidden object scenes are decent if a bit over-using multistep objects, the puzzles are mostly straightforward as is common in this genre, and there is a fairly large amount of point and click parts of the game outside and less hidden object/puzzle…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The real person full motion videos are my favorite parts of this game. Reminds me of late 90's nostalgia. As of this review I am still completing the game and It's actually pretty decent. The puzzles are good, challenging, and for the most part unique. Very surprised with this game. The little extra things to find is a nice touch as well. Great job to everyone who was involved in making this. I tip my hat to y'all.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Disregarding autistic acting, somewhat questionable production value and one of the minigames that hardly makes any sense, this game is quite enjoyable. Art is good and appealing, all puzzles are very, even suprisingly comprehensible with no random senseless decisions that you are required to make, mini-games are mostly fun, environmental sound is especially pleasant. Luckily, the game itself is not very lengthy hence certain repetitveness that puzzles has won't have enough time to get to you.…

When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Some will be put off by the cheesy acting and bland story, but the gameplay is generally quite good. Hidden object scenes are fun. There's fast travel on the map. There are secret money stashes and collectibles spread throughout the locations; you can use the money to decorate a garden. The main negatives are that some of the puzzles are fiendishly hard (you can skip them but will miss an achievement) and the bonus chapter is very poorly constructed with a broken hints system. I didn't…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I’d probably go with a mixed review if I could. This game is a combination of hidden object scenes and a point and click adventure. The story and the hidden object scenes were okay, but the point and click part sometimes used really weird moon logic and I didn’t like most of the mini-games. It does help that there is an instant travel map, but I’ll go with a thumbs down because there are achievements for finding collectibles and I’m not a big fan of pointless collectibles.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In all honesty, it's really not the best HO game in history, but... It was SO funny. If you like 'movies so bad they're good', check the cutscenes that game have, you'll be here for a treat. The puzzles were decent except two that were tedious for nothing, the HO scenes were ok, secrets and collectibles are in for a little challenge (a welcomed one, as the game in itself is easy if you forget those 'what in the what' puzzles), graphics are average to meh, the story is beyond ridiculous but I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The plot of this sci-fi "dramatic" story is original and fascinating. It is a little stupid as the main nagative character the Doctor is crazy too much. But it is typical part of such thriller. Generally it is made really well. The movie part of the narrated story is integrated quite well but I think there is too many repetitive scenes of electro man and the crazy doctor during the adventure. All the actors are a little funny but not in negative way. I prefer animation. Nearly all of the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Loved it. It has stuff that the usual HOG doesn't have. Liked how you could search for money and then buy stuff with the money to pretty up a garden. Also liked using real people for cutscenes , that adds flavour to the game ! The hidden object scenes contain stuff that belong to that scene. Many HOG combine totaly random and unrelated stuff. The story was good, the music was very much part of the atmosphere. This game gets in my top 5 !
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this is an better, longer and higher budget hog game than many hog games in Steam. i quite enjoyed and recommended! pros + good looking and detailed graphics + puzzles are mostly enjoyable + background music is good + story is intriguing + hidden object elements are fun. + hint system very helpful + there is auto save + there is bonus chapter Cons + awful acting from real actors + mediocre voice acting + some mini games can be really frustrating. fortunately you can skip if you don't want…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I cannot recommend this game for these reasons: - You cannot alt-tab out of the game on Mac - If you play on a Mac laptop, and close the lid during normal gameplay, the game screen will be pure black (with only the cursor visible) when you open up the lid of the laptop, but, because you cannot alt-tab out of the game to exit the game, you have to restart your whole computer - Once you open the game again, your progress is saved, but, the in-game map is missing some of the locations you have…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gret point and click hidden object game, it has lots of great puzzles which actually make you think. The main game was fun but when I got to the bonus chapters I stopped getting achievements and the task and hints got stuck on the prison cell which is the first room in the bonus content...I was able to complete it but it didnt record the achievements in steam and the bonus minigames show as locked still.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is buggy. I stucked in 3rd location because after inspecting one area I cannot do it again and take the object necessary to proceed. Wasted money

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It would be one of those many nice HOGs, with meticulous graphics, good puzzles and interesting setting, however there are also terrible voiceovers and even more terrible "acting", as the characters are unfortunately played by real people with mediocre acting skills at best. The guy playing the professor is one of the worst I ever seen in games. His character is simply ridiculous and cliche, and his "acting" is oh-my-how-exaggerated. Then goes the standard "mad scientist" plot which makes me…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Summary Decent HOG puzzle game with a laughable story, but okay puzzling. Extra episode appears to be broken. Get it cheap if you’re a HOG enthusiast that doesn’t care about the story. Makes me wish Steam had a “meh” rating rather than just recommend/not recommend. Story You play as a detective trying to locate two missing children after a series of seemingly natural disasters has forced the evacuation of a city.
