60 of 190 · most liked firstAlawar is known for their amazingly made HOGs, one of the best developers out there for this genre. This game is one of their best, aside from some of the minor flaws I'm going to mention in this review. The story is about a doctor who received a phone call from a patient who currently resides in a hotel. Once he arrived at the luxury hotel, he found it completely empty and to his surprise, the phone was ringing in his patient room, and when he answered it, someone told him 'The game has begun'…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of your patients is having an heavy health problem and you have to go to the White Wolf Hotel in order to save him. However, he's not here but the clients, all invited for the inauguration, are attacked one by one and killed. Everyone seems to be tied to an old fire that killed two children when the building was still a house for kids.... So why are you there? I must admit that I played the game in the Hidden Objects Bundle 5 in 1, that lazy as I am, I've not reviewed. Activating this game…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short version: 52% Mountain Crime’s repetitive nature and terrible voice acting hides a good idea of a murder mystery. If there were more puzzles and if the hidden object scenes would last more than 30 seconds, it could have been a really memorable hidden object game. Long version: In a secluded resort, the seemingly colourful cast of visitors slowly get killed one by one. But as our investigating protagonist gets to the bottom of the crimes, he learns that these victims are actually connected…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Information / Review English Mountain Crime Requital is a Hidden object Crime thriller developed by Alawar Stargaze. Gameplay / Story The Weather is bad, but what a good Doctor cannot be deterred from answering a Patient's call. But the Storm cut off your way back to Civilization as Jack. You will quickly find out: Your Patient is already dead, but not by natural circumstances. More deaths follow, but you can only slowly find out what exactly is going on. And worse, you're somehow…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In a nutshell: Don't go out of your way for this one. Even if you got it in a bundle, don't bother. It's boring, predictable, oddly-paced, and leaves much to be desired on many levels. And while I've certainly played much worse, the cons heavily outweigh the pros here, and it's just not worth wasting 3 hours of your time. Don't get me wrong, the game is not a 100% farm-fresh steaming pile. It sports some great background art, and a couple of game mechanics I haven't seen in HOPAs before (or…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A murder mystery written like an early Agatha Christie novel, presented like an Alfred Hitchcock movie, with the solvability (and continuity) of an Ellery Queen mystery. Engaging, intriguing, heart pounding. Keeps the gamer enthralled and guessing until the end. I felt like I had read a thrilling murder mystery without actually any reading involved. Excellent pacing with just enough time to almost catch your breath. Storyline: Dr. Philip White (one dark and dangerously stormy night) is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mountain Crime: Requital is the first 'hidden objects game' I played. I'm very familiar with the 'point & click adventure' genre but the idea of hidden objects never appealed to me because it sounds like a pixel hunt. I have to say Mountain Crime: Requital mostly plays like a point & click adventure game: you collect items and use those on items in the game world to advance the story. Occasionally, you'll get a 'hidden object' screen in which you need to find some items but they're always…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My friend who I play CS:GO with said if I post a review on Mountain Crime: Requital and it gets to 50 likes and 30 Awards that he will buy me a RTX 3060 and 1 Kilo of Lemon . So im just gonna leave this here. Help a brotha
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In Mountain Crime: Requital you play as Dr. White, who just received a phone call of a patient from the White Wolf Hotel. Upon reaching the hotel, your patient, Mr. Grey has been bitten by a poisonous snake, and the evidence points towards murder. Every single resident of this hotel is suspicious, and it's up to you to find out what really happen, as the number of corpses starts to piling up! Another adventure and this time, heavenly inspired by Agatha Christie's works, although not even close…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absurd and convoluted storyline, poor voice acting, and a completely ridiculous non-ending. This was a chore to play through. Glad I got it on sale for $0.59.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bad graphics, too easy HO, music sometimes try too hard to scare me EVERYWHERE and stupid plot [ending makes it worse]. Don't buy it, don't play it, even if you got it for free, it's waste of time.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"OH NO THERE'S A KILLER ON THE LOOSE AND EVERYONE AROUND ME IS DYING I BETTER FIX THIS LAWNMOWER." This game. *sigh* You play an aggravatingly dense doctor surrounded by a host of grating, forgettable characters in a mountain resort. A storm has wiped out the road. Everyone starts dying and it's up to you to figure out why. The reason for all the death and Saw-like traps is pretty obvious to the player after a few puzzles, but not to the aforementioned toaster-dumb doctor. 2.5-3 hours of…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Imagine you're a doctor that is called in the middle of the night to take care of a patient in a hotel. Yet, you can't find your patient and end up taking care of a different one. Which good doctor doesn't always casually carry in his medical bag several types of snake venom antidotes? Yes, you are that good! Also, you are such a gifted person because for a few hours you become an investigator, a police assistant, a firefighter, an electrician, a mechanic, a cutler, a seamster, a ceramist, a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What the **** did I just play? I don't even know where to start. Very random stroyline that technically makes sense, but is incredibly dumb. The voice acting is AWFUL, but it actually made it more entertaining. The HOG were a nightmare. The items were way too small and aften scattered in places that were almost covered by the circles that told you what to look for. As for the lead...possibly the most pumped dr the world has ever seen, has no real sense of urgency when peole are in trouble…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Still not complete the whole game yet but I can say it is a fair good hidden-object game. So far I do not see lots of hidden objects to be found. The hint option is very useful if you get stuck. The puzzles can be challanging for sometimes but you can skip those if the timebar reaches to the end. The story is quite good as a murder incident. The cutscene and voice acting are so far so good. Got it free but I think it is still worthy under a discount.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →PROS: -Pretty easy to beat -Trading cards -Quite short (Thank goodness) Cons: -Awkward voice acting -You'll get lost without hints sometimes -Awkward animation -I forgot how many times I said 'What the ♥♥♥♥' because of the storyline. -Awkward voice acting -More awkward voice acting. Would rate it: 4/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →(Contains Spoilers!) Wait.... WHAT?! Why did the game end so darn abruptly and on a darned cliff hanger with no further information given or a second game? In all honesty, I thought the MC (Peter guy) was the bad guy... Like he set this all up, hallucinated + memory loss = Bam! There is your other twist. Um no, don't worry that's not a spoiler... He isn't the bad guy... But the ending still... WOT?! Anyway, I liked the game up to the point of the ending scene... The puzzles were…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I thought maybe this will be about werewolves, very mistaken. Good story. Ending was not super for my liking. Puzzles and background graphics were alright. Animated parts were completely off but that's the only minus. In the end a lot of stuff with wolves - 9/10 cubs.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the better HoGs I've played. The puzzles are creative without being frustratingly obtuse or too easy. The storyline is intriguing and engaging. The voice overs are bit bad but the music is good.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →nice HOG game worth to try it if you like this kind of games.. you are doctor that is called in the middle of the night to take care of a patient in a hotel.. story starts from there.. i also found this game in store with another games if you search for "Hidden Object Bundle 5 in 1"
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cool Story, you gotta try it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is an OK-ish hidden object game with some UI flaws: - the map is in an inconvenient place to access and doesn't allow fast travel - the lock inventory button is in a very annoying spot and I have clicked on it accidentally while trying to go back one scene one too many times Works without issues with Proton (5.13-6).
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's correct but the story isn't complete at the end of the game and the devs don't plan to make a mountain crime 2...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is a little different mystery HOG and as for me it is not so typical to meet such type. I have to say that it absolutely does not look for its age (Release date 2011). The graphics and performance remainds modern game. I was suprised in HO part because it has unique form but it was more in positive way. Items are big and clear. No dark area. The minigames was average. The strongest thing about this game is the story. You can read a lot of notes and you can put the story together step by…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →3/10 other hogs that are more well made, and its got a meh weird story
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have played a number of this HOG mystery games and this one was different in a few ways. The puzzles weren't too hard, and the hidden object parts were unique in their format, which I enjoyed. The ending though.... omg SO BAD! There's kind of an interesting murder mystery that unfolds, where you learn about the history of a place, and discover many dead bodies. But the ending happens and you're left literally going "WTF???!!!" While the unique aspects were kind of cool, it was…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A surprisingly interesting game as hidden object games go. Good story and many scenes to keep you vested in it for quite a while! ▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▱▱▱ Well worth a try if you're a hidden object games fan.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Terrible (but hilarious) voice acting, predictable (but not juvenile) plot, simple (but solid) gameplay. I loved it! Murder mystery spoiler alert: Everybody dies.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a hidden object finding game with minor puzzles with point and click elements, you are here because you either like what you saw or you are a fan of these types of games, if you are a fan this game is for you.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a murder-mystery game with hidden object scenes and various puzzles. The puzzles are doable, but if you get completely stuck you can skip it. There is also a hint button that will show you where to go/what to do next if you get stuck while playing. At the beginning of the game you can also choose between regular or expert mode that will change the difficulty of the game. The graphics are good considering how old this game is, but the voice acting is sub par and the character animations…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is one of the best puzzle games i have played. Nice graphics, intuitive puzzles, interesting story. 9 of 10. Great game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Convoluted story, bad voice acting, and I'm fairly certain the protagonist is literally mentally handicapped, despite somehow having a medical license, with how often he throws away useful items, that he ends up needing to find replacements for later. Seriously, how many screwdrivers do I need to find... Crazy amounts of seemingly needless backtracking (y'know, cause I needed another new screwdriver, or box-cutter♥♥♥♥♥♥♥sharp-object)
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Needs a sequel. Enjoyed this one. It's nice to play a HOG that doesn't have magic and mystical this and that going on for a change.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Finished this last night and enjoyed the experience overall. I was a little disappointed with the ending, which seemed a little abrupt but for a couple of bucks, you can't go wrong.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A Chilling Thriller with A Killer on the Loose! It’s been a while since I last played a hidden object adventure game, so it felt like the right time to play another. This time, I picked one that was okay when I played it a few years ago. In Mountain Crime: Requital, a doctor named Philip White has been called to come to the White Wolf Hotel to tend to a patient. But, a rock slide collapses the only way in or out of the resort, so you become trapped. Moments after entering the hotel, a man is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Recommended. This is a well made HOG considering how old it is. First off, the graphics, scenes and puzzles are all well done. The atmosphere, story and suspense kept me interested from start to finish. For the not-so-good, the voice acting was a bit amateur and the animations were just bad. I would have preferred still images to these poor animations. That aside, the length and price are a great value for this fun experience.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a routine hidden object casual puzzle/adventure game with a detective/mystery theme. Solving various puzzles and hidden object minigames reveals the plot and unravels the mystery. Once more we see greedy mobile devs trying to screw over PC gamers. On Steam, this is $4, on app stores, it's completely free. Mobile devs must learn PC gamers are not here to be gouged, and can't be expected to pay a premium for a free mobile game just because it's been lazily dumped on Steam.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Horrible voice acting and animation make this a must play.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just meh. Puzzles are somewhat varied, but none are very original. Most of it is just go with the flow, very little thinking required if that's what you're after. Half the time you don't know why you're even looking for hidden objects yet. Story felt cheesy, voice acting could be better, text is sometimes displayed behind the menu button... overall, could use more polish.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Byer beware: This game is also in the "Hidden Object Bundle 5 in 1". I bought this as part of another bundle, and because "Hidden Object Bundle 5 in 1" uses another executable, Steam did not detect that I owned that game already and didn't display me a warning message that I already own an item from the bundle. Therefore, I payed twice for this game. The publishers rebundeling is not okay, because the bundles overlap each other but that is not displayed by Steam. The game itself is mediocre at…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not a very good one we have here. Storywise it's predictable and weirdly-paced. (Also the ending makes it even worse) All of the puzzles were way easier in comparison to other games of this type. I've got it on sale, but I really don't think it was even worth the money then, since it was probably the worst HOG I've played so far. If you're considering buying this one, think again and possibly switch to getting one of the HOG that are actually good :'D
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In "Mountain Crime: Requital" you play a doctor called out to a hotel to help a patient. When you arrive you find yourself trapped in the middle of a serial killer's murder spree. This was a fun hidden object game with no paranormal elements. The storyline is a little predictable and soap opera-y but still enjoyable to play through.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →pros + this game feels like more adventure game than hog. there is an Agatha Christie style intriguing murder story and you want to learn who is killer and what's gonna happen in the end. + hidden object elements are fun. i found hog scenes easier than the most hog games i ve played. + easy puzzles (if you don't want to challenge) + good looking graphics + good voice acting + hint system very helpful + well made cut scenes + there is auto save Cons - abrupt cliffhanger ending is rushed…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I know that hidden object games are generally hit-or-miss, but as far as I'm concerned, given the plethora of HO games on Steam, this one is a miss. To start off, the voice acting is horrible, even by HO standards. You can tell that the voice actors are at least trying, but in all cases they either fall short of their mark or completely flat altogether. The HO puzzles are bizarre and annoying, even though I know I shouldn't be as critical about them as I am. Instead of what we all are used…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one of those pseudo-HOG games. There's a lot going on and it takes a while to work through, but it mostly isn't looking for hidden objects. For someone who really just wants a series of find-the-objects-in-the-beautiful-scene puzzles, this game is mostly distraction. WARNING: Minor spoilers ahead. Really minor, for anyone familiar with this style of game. If you really like connect-the-tubes/wires/strings puzzles, this is probably a great game for you. There are a lot of them. Plus a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Typical HOG game with nice graphics, intuitive puzzles and an interesting story. 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The hidden object parts are rather simple & just displayed on a wheel to look for. As for the surrounding story it seems rather excessively elaborate for a mystery. Instead of just having murders it seems that the source of the murders have to set up quite elaborate methods (when a simple gun would work fine), & the story after finishing is rather forgettable. Even with the lighter stories of the hidden object games, this one just seems halfway there & there are better ones out there.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun game, although I felt the ending was rushed and disappointing. I got a few hours of play for less than a dollar, though, so I'm not complaining too much! The storyline kept me guessing on a couple of points, although the 'twist' of who the protagonist is became obvious fairly early. I enjoyed the puzzles, and most were not too difficult although I had to use some trial and error for a couple. The hidden object scenes were a little different from most other games of this type that I've…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In Mountain Crime, you play as young Dr. Phillip White, who receives a mysterious phone call and travels deep into the mountains to help an ailing man at a hotel resort. But, upon arriving, you soon find out that something sinister is taking place at this sleepy residence. You can compare the story to that of the 1980s film Clue, but with slightly darker undertones. No, really, you play as a guy who goes into the middle of nowhere and everyone else (except for you) is a complete and utterly…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another decent hidden object game, but as with many in the genre it has its problems, which while not game breaking annoyed me more than normal, but overall it had an interesting enough storyline and the gameplay was fairly decent, so still a fairly decent game overall, especially for the fairly neglible price (especially when on sale). The story has you as Quincy MD crossed with MacGyver trapped at a hotel during a storm where you almost died getting to your rich new patient. People start…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a very old game, voice acting reminds me of the first RE game lol. Gameplay is actually very straightforward, barely any puzzles that take effort and poring over. But I have fond memories of playing this when I was young and the story does leave a lot of hints around so you can piece it together yourself.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mountain Crime: Requital, developed by Alawar Stargaze and published by Alawar Casual, is a mystery-driven hidden object adventure that attempts to blend a classic whodunit narrative with atmospheric exploration and puzzle-solving. Set in the secluded and storm-battered White Wolf Hotel, the game begins with a promising premise: you play as Dr. Philip White, a physician summoned to treat a patient stranded in the mountains. Upon arrival, you quickly discover that the hotel is isolated by the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You could tell the characters hit the gym to get in the daily grind, I applaud their dedication. Anyhow the hotel had a lot of building code violations, but the ending twist was good and the hidden object scenes were simple.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"Mountain Crime Requital" delivers a captivating experience for fans of hidden object games. With its straightforward puzzles, it is suitable for beginners in the genre. The game follows the typical dramatic storyline that players have come to expect, immersing them in a thrilling narrative filled with suspense and mystery. The game offers approximately 2-3 hours of gameplay, providing a satisfying adventure that can be completed in one sitting. Unravel the secrets of the mountain resort by…
