The upgrade systems actually seem very fun and interesting with lots to choose from but I don't think the combat is where it needs to be to make this worth.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has a lot of good ideas, but it's not quite where it needs to be. It pains me to give this game a thumbs down. I really don't want to, but I must. You should consider this if and only if you are into indie roguelites like Curse of the Dead Gods, which I think is the closest comparison to this game. I beat it on my third run, and there are some things I enjoy and some things that need a LOT of work. Ignore the reviews saying the combat is clunky/slow. It's not - it's intentional in…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →combat feels clunky. like, reeeaaaalllllllly clunky. dash a lot of time doesn't have a satisfying effect because the enemies lunge far enough when attacking to make the dash unable to dodge attacks. i've only played 15 minutes and it feels like they just didn't care when they released the game, they were just trying to get it released. even the intro scenes at the beginning feel weird because the timing on all the text is all the same so you don't have the time to actually read it on longer…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Metal Mutation is a bit clunky and oddly designed, but it's got some solid play if you enjoy a top-down melee roguelite with a strong parry. Let's look at your basic combat options. For defense, you have a mildly janky dodge and a very strong parry. A successful parry allows a special follow-up rush-forward attack (and you don't need to attack the enemy you parry), while dodge can be canceled into a kind of air combo. Your main weapon choice sets your basic combo and your cooldown special,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So far this feels pretty good and worth the long wait/delay. Gameplay is responsive and for an action roguelike, there's quite a bit of build variety. My main issue with this game is the large difficulty spike on the third level, with multiple elites spawning in one room that can lock the player in hitstun, and the spiders that have unfair status effect procs that are often more difficult than the bosses. The first two levels feel fine with no metaprogression grinding but the third one seems to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bad story and translations. Almost no game mechanics are explained to you initially and far too many tips and explanations happen in the middle of combat when you can't read them. The combat doesn't feel good and you find yourself constantly getting knocked down or stunlocked. Maybe that's because I don't fully understand the combat, but that just leads me right back to my 2nd point.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Meh...Its not bad. Get's a bit boring and repetitive quickly but there is a huge variety of different upgrades and equips to explore. The roll dodge is a bit jank and unsatisfying. Enemy variety is ok I suppose. But all I do is button mash till the CLEAR message appears and then move on to next level same as the last level and meet the new boss same as the last boss but now I have more stat boosts and sometimes I fart meteors. I used to write silly and disturbing reviews often involving…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played a lot of the demo and loved the game. It's still awesome. Combat doesn't feel too clunky and I remember the upgrades and time making it even more fluid. Lots of fun! Main Story was cool, bosses are interesting and varied. Some are easier than others. I really enjoy the combat since you have to plan ahead slightly, button mashing is very bad and I always love games that punish the button mashers. First 2 main weapons are badass looking with one being more damage and the other being…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its not hades or dead cells...but then again nothing is. A fun game tho otherwise.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Metal Mutation is a top down arcade brawler with progression elements from the Chinese developer, T0. While it looks promising it's ultimately disappointing due to some technical defects and some very poor design decisions, and this is reflected in a very lacklustre public reception, with very few gamers on Steam bothering to play this. This game has been translated from some other language into English... badly. If this was done through Google Translate, Google Translate should feel…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Combat mechanics feels terrible, progression non-existent and there's no sense to the rooms you fight in. Pass.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one of the worst action roguelikes I've ever played. It's so mindless and feels like it is what an AI would assume is an action roguelike. The difficulty is basically non-existent. I only finally died when I got so bored that I stopped caring about dodging or blocking because I just wanted it to end. I thought I was missing something, but I beat three bosses without so much as a thought about it. Either the devs are the worst players of all time, or they didn't playtest this to see if…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is challenging and fun to play. Story is not captivating. Tip: 2nd weapon is the best when used with ice as weapon skill and Fire for Valkyrie ..
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →https://youtu.be/t4KNpC6AThc Progression mechanics are far weaker than expected almost to the point of not being noticeable throughout normal play.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had tried to find alternative game for Hades for a long when I had been waiting for Hades 2 to be completed edition. Finally, I found this game. It's hack and slash, isometric perspective, has alternative weapon, can modify your weapon heavily, each run makes you more powerful. Everything is checked! The fighting system is quite similar to Hades, but you cannot dash multiple times, so you cannot use it as the safe tactic. This game has parry system instead which is more difficult than it…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →fun game can get a bit repetitive but overall the game is fun and enjoyable for a few hours probably really good with co-op
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Kind of a janky low tier hack and slash. Devil May Cry inspired combat, a lot of customization including equipment and permanent perks. It's not that bad if you get it cheap on a bundle.
