Got the game at half-price for the steam winter sale because I've read alot about how bad it was but still thought it looked cute and I wanted to try it. For a finished game with an A list price tag it's incredibly bad (from the staff running into you constantly in your cafe, to a 30 second jump timer, also now my dragon just does his emotion animations 24/7 ) has NO MAP, a repetitive soundtrack, and the crappiest draw distance I've seen in a long time. With no side-questing to keep you busy…

Don't let the graphics and reviews fool you, sigh. I started out by loving this game. It was cute, simple and very relaxing. The controls drove me a bit nuts in the beginning, but you get use to them pretty fast. This game is story-rich, repetitive and flawed. You'll get stuck on every corner, stone and NPC. You'll be doing the same thing over and over, exploring the same land again and again, never having enough time to collect ingredients or help in the café. The story is boring, long and…

too many food/drinks item, didn't know what to choose as menu :) This game is like harvest moon minus the farming (it's mostly like My Time at Portia gathering mechanics) There is variety of food/drinks item you can choose for your cafe. You can run full Korean cafe, all drinks cafe, all cold food cafe, seafood cafe, whatever you want. The game focus on gathering so if you don't like running around the map trying to memorize the specific location of ingredient, this game is not for you.…

This review has been edited to reflect new information. Update: Since My Time at Portia fans/marketing are review bombing this game (and other, similar titles) to try to destroy Portia's competition? I wanted to draw attention to how both Portia and Little Dragon's Cafe have the same Metacritic score (I'm using the Switch version of LDC as the PC version doesn't have enough reviews to be comparable). After playing this game for like 20 hours, I gotta say, the reviews are too harsh. If you're interested but unsure, definitely go for it on sale. The $20 CAD I paid was a good deal imo. (I'd personally value this game at around $40, maybe $50) THINGS TO NOTE: The game is slow. It's close to Harvest Moon in pacing out chores. A lot of the reviewers that are complaining about the 'grind' on here are people that I suspect didn't bother learning the game patterns and chore allocating. You can't…

Too expensive for a shallow-story and terrible control game. Just another annoying game which keep you running around to find ingredients and recipe fragments. Don't get me wrong, I'm the fan of original Harvest moon until they change to the Story of seasons. I have them all, so I thought this might be my new fav but it's obviously not. Disappointed. What I really hate : 1. Too much NPC in a tiny cafe. I can't run around without bumping in to someone and the NPC just drag me around the…

As a lover of relaxing games like Harvest Moon and Animal Crossing, I thoroughly enjoyed this game. The world is adorable, as are the characters. Being able to fly freely is something I’ve really wanted in a game, and Little Dragon’s Café has a great mechanic for flying. Although I didn’t like that the characters make wide turns, I quickly got used to the controls. In fact, this helps during battle because you can buy your dragon time to kill the creature by making it do a wide turn. The…

Hello friends, Today i will review the game Little Dragon's Cafe. This game is a very casual game. It involves raising a baby dragon to a adult, all while taking care of a cafe and cooking dishes. Technically, there is almost no farming in this game, mostly you collect ingredients from bushes and other things. You basically go out and collect everything. You need to get ingredients from bushes in the wild, look for egg laying birds to let them lay eggs in the next day, and try to collect new…

A weird old man appears in your mom's bedroom while she's sleeping and tells you to make him breakfast and call him Pappy. He then proceeds to make you work in an inn as a kitchen slave. When you express doubt that you're too young and can't do it, he tells you your mom will die if you don't do a good job. All joking aside, this game costs more than most AAA titles. It is not a AAA quality game. I expect if they had priced this game somewhat reasonably, it would have done well and they would…

DNFed at 15 hours. Got this in that Fanatical bundle. Despite the mixed reviews I really thought that I'd probably enjoy this enough to get my money's worth. I like shop/restaurant management games, I like cooking games, I like harvesting/farming games, and I like grindy games. But, to be honest, I just found it boring. Long but shallow. Is it meant for young children maybe? After the first hour or two I was just waiting for the gameplay to evolve or the story to get interesting, and neither…

TL:DR - Not worth full price, if you really want it wait for 75% at least + Art style + Flying - Bland & repetitive game play - Graphical bugs - Slow paced story The art style is lovely for the game specially on the dragon however this is all the game has going for it. You do the same 1-3 things everyday which are - Collect ingredients - Help the cafe - Explore new area once unlocked You have no real time to relax the moment your dragon grows to the 2nd stage because you either have to…

I decided to grab this on sale - I'd played the Switch version previously and enjoyed it but it was laggy on there, and since I built a new rig, I figured I would enjoy it better on PC. The UI is wonked sometimes tho. When I was cooking, I got three screens up at once so I can't even choose my ingredients. Had no idea how this glitched out. Had to restart the game a couple times to get the cooking screen to work again. Also somehow the pacing felt weird? I'd get massive story jumps when the…

If you like repetitive tasks and a slow going this game is great to play (if on discount), if you like a bit of activity while playing a game do not get this one. This game gives me mixed feelings, I did like it at the beginning but around chapter 5 (out of 12) it became a drag. There is no management for the cafe (besides you can change recipes everywhere if you run out of ingredients) and there is a point you can not explore more area's. This game has a little bit of everything, including management, cooking, exploration, and raising a dragon. Rather than feeling like a refined or deeply layered simulation game, it feels like a storybook where that very ambiguity becomes a gentle kind of warmth.

The primary reason of me not recommending this is because of the steep price. 50 euro for a repetitive game like this is way too much. I expected something way more polished with way more content. It's a fun, little game but it definitely needs like a 50% or more pricedrop.

A potentially good game brought down by exceptionally poor pacing and an unhealthy focus on micromanagement. The premise seems nice at first even if slow, go out and gather ingredients with your growing dragon to make dishes and play a Diner Dash-esque minigame to keep your cafe running. You even get solid progression in the first couple hours with NPCs joining you to help you out around the kitchen, your dragon growing and gaining new abilities, and areas opening up. However, progression…

Little Dragons Cafe is a game that I would WANT to recommend, but in the end really can't. It's a game that should have everything a fan of laidback management games (such as Harvest Moon) would want, but it falls short on so many places. I picked this up in a bundle at $4 and still feel like I wasted that. The game feels like a chore, the exploration is heavily gated and everything is static. Running the inn is just kinda tedious because there has not been all that many customers then you just have to keep going out and grabbing stuff so you can cook. I know the later game is supposed to change but I have been almost falling asleep playing this.

Alternative name for this game: "when exposure DOES pay the bills..." There's so much wrong with this game - which is vexing, because it could be so good! It hasn't been tested thoroughly, and it shows. A lot. So why recommend? 1. I got it at a discount. If I hadn't, I would have refunded or probably be quite angry. Because at this stage, it's grossly overpriced. And I have played a lot of Harvest Moon/Rune Factory - I do not mind paying 50 $ for a game that I spend so many hours with.…

As much fun as I have playing this game, it really truly is not worth the $60 price tag. GET IT ON SALE. There's visual glitches (clipping of terrain, characters, etc) and minor gameplay issues (jumping around the outdoors is pretty tricky, it's easy to miss your mark and get stuck on the side of what you were jumping over for a few seconds). None of the issues are game breaking, and the story is sweet-- just what you'd expect from the creator of Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons. The music is…

Concept isn't bad, but the game purposely padded out the gameplay, forcing player having to spend time to progress the story. You literally can't progress the story until the reputation is at a milestone, and story cannot be triggered within same day. once past chapter 4, you start to feel the timegate developer put in place. There's literally nothing to do but having to wait the day out, gain reputation, the sleep to trigger next story activity. your helpers are mostly useless, they slack…

Usually, I'd wait longer to write a review, but I don't think my opinion on this one will change. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it, not because the game is bad, but because playing it is painful. It's absolutely not worth full price - I got it 70% off, so $26AUD, and even then, I think that's a bit more than it's worth considering the lack of effort that's been put into some aspects. This game has many game mechanics in common with the indie game Calico 'A Cat Cafe'. The Cafe is able to run itself while the player is out exploring the world, and you only need to make a dish's recipe once and add it to the menu for it to be made by the Cafe workers over and over again. ★✯☆☆☆ The game is extremely boring and slow, the basic loop of the game is: go harvest ingredients (maybe kill a boar or two and go fishing) and then go back to the cafe and maybe help out with orders (which amounts to getting the order, give it in at the cash register, pick up the food when it's completed, take it to the customer and then take the dish to the sink when they are done with it) and well, that’s the whole game. Little Dragons Café is a handheld/console (Switch) ported third person adventure game where you are challenged with endless harvesting quests while trying to raise a dragon. In some ways this is a bit of an attempt at ripping off Stardew Valley, but with better graphics and much worse, shallower gameplay. There isn't much content as Animal crossing or harvest moon. You just collect ingredients and recipes, and cook foods based on what you have obtained. They act more like spawn locations as you will get onions and carrots from the same plant. You can reseed these spawns with dragon manure, so feed that dragon. I've never had this happen with any game on Steam and when I pair that with the reviews, it doesn't look good - especially with this massive price tag. It's not me, if my system can run BG3 on ultra settings, it should be able to open this game. Hopefully I can get a refund considering I could never actually get it to run.

Simple game with charming graphics. Those who don't want linear gameplay would do best to look elsewhere. You spend most of your day fetching ingredients. Bits of storytelling is woven between daily ingredients foraging, but not to the extent I'd like. The characters aren't as interactive as one would expect. Definitely pick this title up on a hefty sale to make it worth your time in case you're on the fence about anything I've written.
