60 of 104 · most liked firstSweet Lily Dreams is a JRPG that is highly influenced by popular stories, and wears those in its sleeves. Quite literally. The game's focus is clearly its universe and story, but it tries to tie the RPG mechanics into it without really understanding them... and so the "game" part ends up dragging for way too long, and had me lose interest in the story completely, about 15 hours in. I still finished it, but while the very last mission was better than the others, it still wasn't great, and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You know what really grinds my gears? The way RPGMaker game review threads are full of people who give the game a thumbs-down BECAUSE IT'S AN RPGMAKER GAME. You're an idiot for playing a game you knew you wouldn't like, and your review wastes my time and yours. This game is beautiful and original, going well beyond the stock resources available in RPGMaker and common DLCs. The developer has gone inside the guts of the game and tinkered with the Ruby script to great effect. The characters are…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →(2018 revision : This review is several years old. I still think this game is charming and was worthwhile but it's worth mentioning that there has been a deluge of more impressive titles released in recent years. While the customization aspects are fun and the aesthetic stands out in a good way, this one has been outclassed many times over and should probably be pursued at a high discount.) Really nice and eclectic old-school RPG with a few highly unique features that make it stand out. First…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Aside from the first puzzle, Sweet Lily Dreams is a fun little RPG with a nice balance of customization, story and gameplay. Combat has a steady difficulty curve, and inventory and elemental management becomes more important the further you get. Unlike many other games, customizing your home has benefits that boos gameplay, and costumes play a major effect in survival. All in all, a pleasant experience.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not actually a yuri game. 0/10 Seriously, though, this game has a few things going for it, like being a lot prettier than is typical for an RPG Maker game, with very well-designed maps, neat character spites, interesting (if a fairly limited variety of) monsters, and also fairly good background music, even if one of the themes really sounds way too much like a Final Fantasy song. Unfortunately, that's where the good parts of the game ended for me, so this will be a thumbs-down. A lot of the…

Difficult Achievement(s): No. Intro Sweet Lily Dreams is a turn-based RPG Maker game with a focus on dungeon-delving. You'll play in a party of 10 to complete ~12 dungeons with various core mechanics and some minigames. Pros: - Touch-based encounters - Minigames that are unique in some dungeons - Optional quests to be taken -…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is quite mixed. Good things and bad things. But for sure not a ~10€ game, that is insane. I've seem free RPGMaker games way better than this. The character design is great and horrible at the same time. Some of the monsters are quite original and would make a great addition to a bigger lore. Many characters are actually cringy. The level design is good, but at the same time is infuriating how, for example, some rocks are lay out that prevent waking just to make a silly walk around…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I actually really love this game. When it first caught my eye, i added it to my wishlist to remember for later, and when I had the chance to get it, i got a bit nervous at first because i actually took a closer look at the trailer and in-game photos and thought "oh my god what kind of furry adventure am i gon get myself into" but it's actually really fun and a lot of popular characters from popular older novels. movies, fairy tales, etc have appearances in it. When i first played it, i…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A nice little game which i finished. I decided to write this as negative due to issues i am having in the game, and that is why this is negative review. I tried contacting the developer, even friending them. I sent messeges to them in hopes of response to the bugs i posted on this topic: http://steamcommunity.com/app/300540/discussions/0/558756256022295783/?ctp=3 I posted three bugs at the bottom, and will repeat them here so others can read this review to make a decision on getting this…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is going to be a mixed review. I got this game off of a recent Humble Bundle. To tell you the truth, it didn't look that interesting. I finally got tired of it sitting in my library so I decided to pick it up. The main character of the story is named Lily. She is tucked to bed my ber mother and she asks, "When will daddy be home?" The mother replies, "He will be working late tonight, but you can see him tomorrow." Lily says, "Then I don't want to go to sleep." The mother thinks for a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another real cute Old School RPG ! If you like games like Skyborn and a few others made with RPG Maker then you will love this game! Its very nice! It has very whimsical art style of that of a children's book and a very good sound track and a good story and puzzles .The controls are a bit off but just use the app that comes with your controller and config it,real easy fix! I say give this one a go if you like old school RPGs!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →★ — 1/10 - Unplayable due to controls not working. I wanted to give this game a fair chance because, in general, I enjoy RPGs like this but unfortunately, the controls just don't work. I went to the options and tried to change the keys around to see if that would help but it didn't. I tried using a controller because they usually work with RPGMaker games, but it also doesn't recognize the controller buttons (XBOX360 controller), only the stick to move the character. For some reason, the music…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This has got to be one of the worst games I've ever played. The storyline is probably fine, but one would never know, because the combat system is absolute garbage. The game starts off with you having one character, lvl 1, and the rate of evade way to high on monsters. My third fight consisted of the enemy evading me 19 times ina row, before I could hit and kill it. To make matters worse, when you do get a party, it only makes you more frustrated. The main character DOES NOTHING. First real…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is an excellent RPG which incidentally is also the prequel to Whisper of the Rose. I have played both these games to completion and had a very enjoyable time. I enjoy the combat mechanics, especially the point-base system. You have to hunt for points (which appear as gold coins) which motivate you to explore every small little corner of the game map. There is also an achievement for getting all the points. Furthermore, the points can be used to buy furniture which you can display in your…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I only actually played this for about 30 minutes. I couldn't take anymore. The story was so boring, and the pacing so slow, that I felt like I was about to fall asleep. Additionally, the tutorial seemed to think that players could somehow boot up the game without being familiar with idea of using a mouse, at all.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this is the dumbest game ever how the ♥♥♥♥ is it 15 dollars why do i have this thing this game makes Dust look like GOTY I'm not even joking. Why is there good reviews for this what is wrong with this planet
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →do not pay $15 for this game combat itself sucks unless you plan to grind for basic skills that only make it marginally more bearable, spent two hours and two bosses just mashing attack and healing because there's nothing else to do unless you grind like i said but grinding is dumb and the end result isnt even that good. difficulty comes in the form of bosses ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ you when they please with an overpowered all hit move. imagine SMT difficulty only way worse and for the wrong reasons…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Games made in RPGMaker generally suffer from the same handful of problems; They use generic assets, combat is dull and maps are a maze. SLD actually has rather nice graphics and music, but it does suffer from the other two problems. The first hour or so you only have one party member with one attack. You trudge through a maze, spam your one attack and after a few battle trudge back to the entrance you get healed. I've played a bunch of games that started like this, it's awful. But wait, it…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Charming and a lot of fun to play. The variety of the mini-games and puzzles keep things from getting boring, challenging you to stay on your toes. Can't wait to see how it all ends! Would love to see more from this developer!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You know, at first this looked dumb to me. But a friend gifted it to me in a humble bundle, so I felt obligated to play it. Thank God I did. The game's intro reminds me a little too much of Kingdom Hearts, but the graphics are well done, the music is well done, and a lot of thought clearly went into everything. I was very glad to see that they didn't stick with the generic RPG maker battle system. I'm really tired of encountering those, and this was a breath of fresh air. I don't want to spoil…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its an interesting game. Kind of slow at the star but fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I didn’t want to dislike this game so much, the parts other than the ‘game’ are alright, nothing special, but okay. The story, character, music, etc., it’s all on the better side of what I’ve personally experienced in RPG Maker games, everything except for the gameplay. Mechanically it ranges from purely generic to frustratingly janky, with only a few exceptions. It’s just too much of a hassle to play for me to recommend, even if it has sincere charm to it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have not enjoyed this game so far. It lacks in a lot of areas including graphics, strategy, and story. This game would be a good choice for young kids without much rpg experience, but the interface is a bit clumsy.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the best if not the best classic rpgs i ever played i dont understand why so many ppl vote negativ for it but its probably not something for evryone such games are sadly rare nowadays
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Blehhh. It's an RPGmaker that really doesn't have anything going for it - music, story, writing, graphics and gameplay are all very sub-par. Skip it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Some art sprites stolen from Pokemon games. Wow. Also, playing the game for an hour is considered an "achievement", sooooo... that speaks for itself. I couldn't make it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →RPG Maker strikes again! This is one of hundreds of low effort retro-pixel JRPG ripoffs spamming the Steam catalog, made with the RPG Maker video game construction kit... in their own words, "Our easy to use tools are simple enough for a child." Like all RPG Maker "games", this is essentially a bunch of low quality/canned assets from RPG Maker coupled with a cringeworthy high school anime club weeaboo fan fiction. Sweet Lily Dreams is especially creepy, featuring furries and other…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has great soundtracks, i liked the fun puzzles, and game play settings, but the biggiest con about the game is the story. Its just bad. Great ideas in the game but it was mainly just plain

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Won this game and gave it a try. Mehhhh just not really interesting-1/10 one of the many indie games that is a rough in the rough.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has great soundtracks, i liked the fun puzzles, game play settings and the interesting plot, but most of all, I loved the adorable look to the characters. Only thing I dislike is how extremely difficulty some puzzles and mini-games will become and by that point will apparently prevent game progression. Overall i found this game very addicting and only wished I could've found more tips on solving maps and puzzles which are difficult sometimes...
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is a beautiful little game with its story around fairy tales, novels or folklore, which are handled in their own dreamworld. Lily and her friends explore this worlds to fight the bad mobs called "Phobios". They invade dreams and make them nightmares. It is a nice RPG with some nice puzzles and minigames. I can recommend it. Please consider following my curator page for more reviews. Thank you! https://store.steampowered.com/curator/40593904/

It is a good RPG game with interesting ideas. To learn new spells you have to craft spell scrolls from items dropped by monsters. Instead of buying armor to wear you buy furniture that you put in your house and that gives you stat bonuses for the whole party. Only the main…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A not quite fun RPG made on RPG Maker. It's story is forgettable and based on a couple of popular books.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not quite sure how to describe this game: it's a bit unusual. There are more than a few moments that leave you wondering if you're playing a game designed specifically for preteen girls XD (case in point: the team is made up of 3 females and an agendered plushie LOL) Fair amount for completionists - best to focus on not touching those green healing orbs OR going for max points - but you do get more points up for grabs in a playthrough than the achievement requires. It's a reasonably well…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't know where I got this from, probably some bundle that had at least one game that interests me, and some with cards. Found out this has cards now, so I have a look while waiting for the drops. It just keeps annoying me. "Wake up" apparently means quit. Clicking play, I get delayed by something drawing the title on the screen without the option to skip, and a scene I can't click to speed up text. Plus it's dinging music at me even though I turned it off. No way to get back to the menu…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really enjoyed this game. It was challenging and fun all at the same time. Great turn based RPG!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Apparently the technical issues are a fault of RPG Maker, I didn't realize this was made with it until after I wrote my review. Looks like I'll stay away from all games made with it from now on. This game has it all. Terrible "retro" graphics, a high price, poor controls, sound doesn't work, and no controller support. I had to use ctrl, alt, delete to quit the game so I wouldn't waste any more time with it.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Kinda hard to decide This is not one of the worst or best games and probably not for an average person. If you like yourself some JRPGs then it will suit you but if you're used to the more conventional american RPGs then this might not be for you. There is a lot of story but not that much action, at least at first. After that you just grind from one plot point to another. Pros Nice story Better graphics than other RPG maker games What you'd expect from a standard JRPG Cons…

Haven't touched Hard mode as it sounds like pain and suffering. - Every enemy in battle has a weakness. Wrong magic used = absorbs your magic or does 0 damage. It's up to you to find out what. - Why craleef? Because poison doesn't go away and enemies like…
