58 of 58 · most liked firstThis visual novel by InterOne Inc. and Dogenzaka Lab features a male protagonist John Smith(name can be changed) on a trip to Kyoto in modern day Japan. John had been switching jobs without settling into one, leading to his mother advising him to travel to Kyoto, see more of the world and decide what he wants for himself as an adult. At Kyoto, John will be received by his grandfather's good friend Kenichiro Sakurai who is the manager of an inn Ukiyoen. Kenichiro will provide him with…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was incredibly short. It's more of a tourism advertisment than anything else. the character you play constantly talks about how he's new to the country, and his lack of understanding of japanese culture seems more important than the actual romance. I was looking for a game to get my feet wet w/ visual novels beacuse I hear a lot about them, and thought they might be enjoyible to play, but this game was so quick and was so lacking in substance that I really felt let down. Only get this…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For a romance visual novel, there isn't much romance in it. The art style is nice enough, but i really wish the game was longer. You can easily complete this game in 4-5 hours. Not really worth the price tag tbh.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →(This review was adapted from my [url=https://jersie.wixsite.com/backlogbrawlers/post/review-kyoto-colorful-days-when-moe-can-only-do-so-much]gaming blog ) I'm sure you must be wondering why a straight 15-year old girl is playing this I haven't played very many VNs (visual novels) but I've watched my fair share of anime. And going by similar standards, this game reeks of generic. Ok, so for background, I bought this game when I recently learned about Steam Sales. Now little Jersie so far…

Both of those are rather short and it wont take you longer then 2 hours to complete them both if you read relatively quick. Only because of this I only recommend this Game if you get it for a low Price. It also has a few technical Problems, as it is very slow and laggy at times and it takes like 5 seconds for me to open the Log. I also dont like the Sound Settings as there is a certain Point where the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's an ok Game, at first the game may seems Fun, but once you progress, you will notice how repetitive and boring it starts to get my real problem with this game is that it has not much going on with it, you simply read the story make your choices & hope for a good ending, and that's it, you only have 2 stories, so very little option, and this can be finished within just 2 hours Pros: 1. Good art style 2. You have different options to choose for the 2 routes, Bad, normal or good ending 3.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a short visual novel. Most of its appeal might be in that it uses the Kyoto-dialect rather than the Tokyo dialect most well-known in Japanese. The two heroines have interesting tales, and if you do the right things, you may even end up living happily ever-after with one. Both are also being threatened by people on the wrong side of the law. One has issues with land-speculators. The other... she's being stalked by an admirer. You can complete this game quickly enough, and if you like…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you want a game where you feel immersed in the traditional Japan, this game will be a good choice. Pros: * The Characters are interesting, even the ones that seem support characters at first. * There are 2 storylines. you get one dependig on what you do in the first 2 days. * The main character "has" a personailty and does something in both storylines. * There are at least 5 endings in this game. * The romance isn't the focus, the Drama is. (I put this here because there are many romance…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Kyoto Colourful days can't really be called a "Good" VN. Its writing and story were its biggest problems for a few reasons. The first reason is that it was pretty cliche, specially with the whole "bumping into a girl and helping her up" part. The story was plain and simple and it was hard to get into it. No real twists or conflicts, not even in the slice-of-life style. The vocabulary was simple too, and boring things were a little too detailed. I had to skip through most of the text. Another…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Let me first start by saying I got a "Bad End" when I played this, but for me the story wasn't engaging enough to want to replay. It's definitely worth a go if you're a VN fan, and a really beautiful game, but not what I was hoping for. Any game that is going to give me a bad ending, I'd like to have more decisions available to influence. And I was really hoping for more of Kyoto!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't usually like visual novels, so I can't recommend it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't know, how I should say my opinion without spoiling too much. I'm going to try. Positives: The story is nice. The two girls are kind and loveable, but stereotypical (at least from the point of visual novels). No plot showing, which is great - comparing to many bait VN-s. The design is consistent (if you have ever read Everlasting Summer, you know, what I mean); the OST is fine. Teaching part (what is mentioned in the official description) - I would bow down to this idea (although I…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I beat my meat everyday to this ♥♥♥♥ The girl ,,Akane" was very nice and offered me a number 15 - burgerkink footlettuce , 2 number 45 and a large soda in her restaurant, yet I ended up in this ann with a creepy old guy and woke up with a butthurt - idk what. I didnt get to further part but I dead memed the ♥♥♥♥ out of it in first 30 minutes. 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's about a trip to Kyoto, you know what to expect. Great views, references to hot tourist spots, intoduction to Japanese culture. The main fault is the awful storyline. It feels like the progatonist has a lot of struggles, finding part-time jobs, deal with hentai guy who want your girls...... too much BS for a trip. A trip is supposed to be relaxing and joyful, the atmosphere is quite negative here. 2hours for nothing enjoyable but one trouble and another. Not colourful days but Dark days.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun visual novel that teaches you a bit about Japan. The artwork looks nice and the voice acting is suprisingly spot on. The endings kinda feel like a let down , but they aren't the worse. I bought it for .89 cents on the Humble Bundle sale so i'd say 7 dollars is good enough for the price. You won't spend that long on getting all the endings thankfully to the amount of save files. 60 save files in all is really useful.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There is quite a lot I enjoy in this little gem of a VN. I'll attempt to summarise without major spoilers - gaijin lad travels to Japan, meets a cute girl or two and according to your choices you might end up with a new waifu. Never too bad! The stuff which happens along the way makes for an interesting read. The store page does not lie when suggesting that the story can be taken in the vein of a TV drama - it treats some mature themes such as stalking and coercion (oops - spoiler!) in a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great little VN (although quite short, 5 hours). Unlike most of the other ones I played, this one feels actually pretty realistic. There aren't many choices to be done though, yet both stories are very nice :) Also, the graphics are beautiful, the musics are good, and the whole game has quality ♥♥♥ voice acting :) It is also pretty informative about the Japanese way and customs, and more specifically about Kyoto. Besides, If you're curious about the differences between Tokyo and Kyoto dialects,…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it's too short but very interesting
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I finished the game in about 3.7 hours and honestly, I had a great time with it. The story itself is fairly simple and doesn't try to reinvent the wheel but I don't think it needs to. It's a short, relaxing experience that knows exactly what it wants to be and sticks to it. The visuals are beautiful but the voice acting is easily the strongest part of the game. I especially loved how consistently the Kyoto dialect is used throughout the dialogue. It gives the characters a distinct identity and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the game is not very interesting in every trailer i always run but never get all the cards this is so boring
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A gaijin weeb's wet dream interpretation of Japan.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've finished all routes and I really love every stories! Well, all of the stories are short but worth to read. Every heroine have their own problems with their life and that make this visual novel really interesting. Recommended!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wish I could say I enjoyed this, but the game has a problem with crashing for no apparent reason. I've played many, many VNs and this is the first one I've EVER had crash. That's fine though because from what I was able to play, the character art was laughably mediocre, the music was bog standard, and the voice acting sounded like they were reading off a script. I know they were, but they're not supposed to sound like they had been. Speaking of the script, I hope you enjoy a watered down…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice and short VN. The heroines are great, so is the art and music. The drama is a bit cheesy, but it's decent enough. Should probably only buy on sale considering the length. Got it at -90% and it was definitely worth it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think this game so good with whis price . Good artstyle , Good story . BG - 7/10 BGM - 8/10 Story - 7/10 // so short ._. I finished Akane's route in 1.0 Hr. Ps. I don't rush I read the story . *** Sorry if bad grammar *** Now , I have to go for finish Madoka's route xDDDDDD
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pros : - Got Voice over - Well drawn characters - Have some Opening song - Affordable price when discount - Got Trading cards Cons : Edit : - suddenly it no longer delay - Strange "Auto". It works well on other characters, but for some reason when main char turn, the auto kind of fast even I put 1/3 bar speed. Overall Rating 7/10. >.< Still worth it if you like anime related and got extra time n money.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Kyoto Colorful Days, developed by InterOne Inc. and published by Dogenzaka Lab and D3PUBLISHER, is a romantic visual novel that combines personal growth, cultural exploration, and heartfelt relationships into a relaxing narrative experience. Rather than focusing on dramatic conflicts or elaborate fantasy scenarios, the game tells a more grounded story about a young man struggling to find direction in his life. Seeking a fresh start, he travels to Kyoto, where new friendships and potential…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short but sweet VN set in Kyoto. A great start to learning Kyoto dialect and practice for Japanese as well.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short lighthearted drama VN. Something different from the average VN on steam. Its focus is more on real life issues and problems rather than usual world saving/romance themes. Refreshing! Also it contains the collection of everyday expressions in both Tokyo and Kyoto Japanese so it is also possible to learn from this title. Big plus from me.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its one of the million visual novels out there that kinda kept my attention? Yay?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →❌ Tested on Steam Deck, it doesn't even launch (10/12/2022). Game get's completely stucked in launching, I get a permanent Steam loading screen. Pretty average and cliché story, the routes are not interesting at all and some of the choices needed to get good/bad ending make no sense. This vn only works well as some sort of educational content about Kyoto or japanese culture.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The story is simple. Nothing outstanding. But there is a section in this game which has various sentences from the game in English with Japanese audio (standard Japanese and Kansai dialect) which you can use to learn a bit of the language. That's about the most interesting part of this VN If you buy this, it's to learn a tiny bit of Japanese. The VN itself is meh
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm not a pro visual novel gamer or anything but I quite enjoyed this one. I also like the extra voices that allow me to listen to various phrases in both standard Japanese and Kyoto dialect.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would only recommend this VN if you get it on special. It was short and I did not find that it got me invested into the characters the way Tokyo School Life did for example (also published Dogenzaka Lab but made by a different studio). It's worth the couple of bucks they ask for when it's on special because of the nice Kyoto setting and it's light entertainment value but the full price. If you want to get something that's really worth it, I would recommend Tokyo School Life: it's twice or…

Both of them offer to show you around but they also have their own worries and problems that you can help solve! 2+ hours to complete, 2 routes with good, normal, and bad endings. While short and insubstantial, the backgrounds are beautiful and the sprites are animated and drawn very well. Both of the love interests weren’t very interesting and you…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game presentation was good, I wish I could give mixed review, but If i had to give one then sadly a thumb down. The saddest part is game is very shallow, I was shocked that it ended, like huh wtf? is this the ending? no more? where it could extend it like 3 times more. It was like you paid to watch 30 min film in theatre where it should be 1h 30m.. When character development is getting in place, then the game throw cheap convenient crap at you like "months later" or "years later" then poooof!…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For the story is normal nothing special and kinda boring i guest and it just took 5 hours to complete the game. CG art is normal just some CG is good but if you want to learn about japan specially kyoto is good to play also they have an extra voice with two type of japanese dialect so is really helpful for learn about japan
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This ♥♥♥♥ is p, that means perfect
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's good in how you learn a good bit about Japan. It's bad though it that it makes people from Japan apparently temperamental. The way it tries to tell the story is off, with choices potentially sending you down a bad turn without any way of knowing it's coming. Better flow and structure would make learning about Japan worth it, because here it just detracts.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Story - 3/5 Characters - 4/5 Atmosphere - 3/5 - Not everyone speaks in Kyoto Dialect, only 3 characters out of 8. - It's nothing grand, really. Not much of a story and characters are shallow for the most part. For a game this short you spend too much time with secondary characters or reading the main hero's thoughts (which is normal in these games but annoying non the less). Also the protagonist has an unaviodable urge to describe everything someone says just before or just after they say it,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i finished 2 of the endengs so far and i loved the game it was very emerseve that when the game ended i was sad so it felt a bit short and the story was laking a bit aside from that prety enjoyable i give it a 4/5.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really cute story. A bit short but with it having multiple endings you can get at least 5 or 6 hours, 10 max, if you read slowly.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Enjoyable and touching story. Amazing art, music, the ambience all around <3 Totally loved this game P.S This game cost 249 RUB and i got it on a sale for 24 RUB and hell, I am proud of my action :D
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a fun little VN which branches quite early on into effectively two different stories. The stories do not strain the bounds of credibility (other than literally bumping into two nice girls on your first day in a strange town), and are nicely done. As an English speaker, the differences between the Kyoto and Tokyo dialects of Japanese rather went over my head, but I can see that they would be interesting to someone who could discern the difference. There is a nice little bonus utility…

Meet two girls each of which has a secret and try at a good ending. Go sightseeing and deal with mindless drama soap opera style. Short. While this game is nothing special, it has animated lips, paperdolls that blink, some voice acting for the dialogue bits and decent characterization although a bit mundane and out of the ordinary. It spans over the course of a few days and…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was a delightful little VN. I really enjoyed it. However it is only about 2-3 hours of content. For that reason I wouldn't really recommend paying the full 10$. I got in on sale for only a couple bucks and I really enjoyed it. The characters are endearing and the two routes are both interesting and well-told. The romance aspect wasn't near as prevalent as I was hoping, but it was still there. The only other downside was the fact that most of it felt like an advertisment for sightseeing in…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This VN is a little on the light side but manages to include a couple of different story routes, has the slightest bit of friendship and romance development and also avoids creepy or fanservice territory. You learn a little bit about Japan but nothing that substantial or useful compared to the slightest bit of online research. Some of the character interaction seems a little overly optimistic or in other words everyone gets along so well that it feels a little outside the realm of possibility.…
