This kinetic visual novel from Studio Beast and Fruitbat Factory features a trio of unemployed teenage girls Arue Marisugawa, Koiro Hachisuka and Arara Fujisaki with Arue as the protagonist in this episode. Arue, Koiro and Arara…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →* I've received this game as a gift. Thank you very much, Plutia! Chuusotsu! 1st Graduation: Time After Time is a medium length kinetic visual novel developed by a small Japanese group called [url=https://twitter.com/StudioBeast1]Studio Beast. This title is mostly a comedy with a lot of fun moments, but there are some strong dramatic features as the story goes on. I also think it's important to say that this title originally doesn't have explicit sexual content, but there is a bit of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So, I openly admit that I never really informed myself about Chuusotsu! 1st Graduation: Time After Time before and just assumed it was a story about high school girls getting comfortable with each other, but what this game delivered was beyond my expectations. First of all, I guess we don’t technically have protagonists here who go to school, although they’re still very young regardless. And the reader doesn’t only accompany them through their everyday life but will see the protagonist grow and…

The story is about three Chuusotsu (middle school graduate) that due their personal circumstances, will need live under the same roof and clear an assignment, otherwise,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There's more to this visual novel than meets the eye, and I personally think it's one of the best visual novels steam has to offer. If you're hesitating to purchase it, then start with the demo which covers chapter one, and continue with chapter two by making a temporary purchase. You should be able to finish chapter two within two hours, and by the end of chapter two it should be very clear to you if it is or if it isn't your cup of tea.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Chuusotsu is a cute sci-fi slice of life medium length (by medium I mean between 8-18hs, anything above is already into the longer side) kinetic visual novel with a lot of layers behind the seemingly simplistic front. You follow the misadventures of Marisugawa Arue as she tries to reform her life as a shut-in, reach her dreams and obviously make some friends along the way. However, things quickly take a turn into the weird and strange but thankfully with a satisfactory conclusion and lead up…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Chuusotsu starts off as a Visual Novel that has a very lighthearted Comedy Touch and Focuses a lot on the Friendship and its Development of the 3 Girls. Later on however the game gets a lot more Psychological and a lot more interesting. It also has a few interesting Concepts in it that make you think a bit more. An Example is how the World works as it has some Similarities to Comunism or similar Views. If you expect an only cute little VN then you are wrong here. This certainly has some cute…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I expected a light hearted comedy VN, but what I found was so much more. The story's pace was nice and the progression was very satisfying, the story and characters developments drew me in more and more with every chapter. I applaud the writers for making the story and characters lively, interesting, diverse and refreshing. Very thought provoking and relatable too at times. The voice acting was excellent, it definitely added a lot to my enjoyment of this VN. The background music was nice and…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →STORY: Chuusotsu depicts three girls who struggle to live and be recognized in a quasi-utopian and orvellian world. It is a straightforward story, with a single predictable ending. The mood is largely comical and lighthearted in nature, intermixed with more serious, sadder, and darker moments, particularly towards the end of the story. There are some moments where it conveys either well, however, I find that the story and narrative tends to be on the bland and boring side often. ARTWORK:…

You start the game by following Arue, as she moves into a small apartment with two other girls under a special program where you can live together without rent. You are told to complete a task together – to find an answer to the question ‘What makes a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →200 years in the future (the world history tip seems to reference modern day issues), the world is under the control of a government that assigns you a job based on your abilities and genetics, a job which will be yours until death. As such, a lot of concepts have been lost. Including dreams. Into this situation a young woman who does dream must find her way to acceptance... and gainful employment. In this kinetic novel, will she find her way? Or lose it? Would recommend, though it is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short but good VN. Feels pretty slice-of-life near the beginning, but manages to shift away from that near the end in unexpected but meaningful ways. The very end feels kind of common for Japanese stuff, but how it gets there feels more natural and makes it feel more deserved. Looks like it's the first part of a series, but it wraps things up rather nicely while leaving plenty of threads to work with for the future. If you enjoy slice-of-life-ish stories that are willing to get somewhat…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What looks and begins like a light-hearted story will surprise you with its deep and mature themes. Whether it’s about debating about what makes a wonderful life, or how you can make your life worth living, in regard to your relationship with others, philosophy is around the corner in this short Visual Novel, but never boring.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'll say this to start: It's pretty easy for someone to overlook this VN from appearances. The cutesy and slightly amateurish art don't inspire confidence, but having heard glowing reviews from people who've played the Japanese version, I decided to back the project and eventually give the thing a shot. At its base, Chuusotsu is a fairly light-hearted VN about making friends in unlikely places, as well as protagonist Marisugawa Arue's quest to understand philosophy, and maybe even herself…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A Chuusotsu is a loser. Well, more or less; in the world that Chuusotsu! 1st Graduation: Time After Time presents, it means someone without a nanomachine-powered job seal that grants people special abilities in which to complete their given profession. Thanks to a neverending series of clashes between opposing political leanings, the world has been reborn as a weirdly bureaucratic utopia where the government decides the life-long professions of the populace, and they just have to accept it. It…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A bright comedy that remains a serious take on transhumanism simultaneously. To be honest, I expected a bit more after all the high praise. However, the game still managed to present an interesting dystopian setting, a loveable cast of characters, and quirky writing that differs from what you usually see. I also liked how it depicted one of the conflicts between the main characters. They continued talking with each other without visible discomfort, but you still clearly could see how their…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I rather enjoyed my time with Chuusotsu, which really helped because of the wonderful humor. While not for everyone, Its one of the few "comedy" vn's that got quite a few real chuckles out of me. The story itself was done in a rather interesting world, but the message and story themselfs were rather normal and I have seen essentally the same thing quite a few times. First time a rooftop was so interestingly linked to the theme however. I give the vn an 8/10, and if you like the comedy shown in…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A cute and thought-provoking visual novel on friendship and happiness. Thanks for not letting me sleep enough for a few days. 10/10 would play the sequel when it comes out. I wish I was as smug as Arara.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Prelude & Review Information This review will contain spoilers in the "Story" section that are unavoidable for what I have to say. I will make sure that all other categories remain spoiler free. However, please see the beginning of said section for my basic rundown and opinion. Spoilers will be marked as such. The only other notable thing to say is that 1st Graduation will most likely be getting a sequel as said in the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While Chuusotsu gets off to a slow start, it quickly escalates in a way that allows it to deliver an impactful story about coming of age and pursuing one's passions. The story brilliantly explores the psychology of its main character, although I did think a bit too much of it was done through sudden flashbacks that halted the pace of the ongoing narrative. The messages conveyed through this exploration of Arue were heartfelt and moving, but their impact was slightly dulled when unnecessarily…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sorry but the writing style of boring over-explainative narration just isn't fun for me. I end up getting super bored or exhausted within the first 15 minutes.

"Under the P3 law enacted under the Global People's Federation, citizens are ranked according to the Authorization Seals issued by the world government." "The chuusotsu are not in possession of any Seals, and are considered to be failures at life" Follow the story of 3 chuusotsu girls, tasked with answering one question: What is a wonderful life? Witness how they are scorned by society and treated as lowlifes for being the outcasts of a wretched system where dreams…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Chuusotsu! 1st Graduation: Time After Time, developed by Studio Beast and published by Fruitbat Factory, is a kinetic visual novel that hides a surprisingly deep social and philosophical narrative beneath its colorful art and comedic premise. At first glance, it seems like a quirky slice-of-life story about three young women forced to live together in a cramped apartment, but as the story unfolds, it becomes clear that the game is a layered exploration of societal expectations, self-worth, and…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If there's anything I have to say about this game, it's that Arue's shut-in backstory hits so close to reality. It's scary how alike I used to be with Arue the entire time I was playing this. The game itself is basically a story of redemption over your past mistakes, will you keep running from your past mistakes or will you try to come to terms with them?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sometimes fun and games can be hard to justify. The simple pleasures of living are filled with the brimming interpersonal anxieties provided by those looking on, especially notable in a society that values production and titles. Whether its a genuine commentary on a growing issue of stay-at-home-everyone's or a simple suggestion of trying to understand everyone's viewpoint, Chuusotsu! 1st Graduation: Time After Time is a game I may always cherish for bringing me close to blissful sublimity. Its…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the most personal visual novels I've ever read
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game had an incredibly touching overall story line to it about what it means to be happy in life. I loved every bit of it ♥
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the only reason im giving this a thumbs up is because Arara is in the game. buy if you like the character designs, skip if you actually want something good.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →✔️ Played on Steam Deck, it works fine (19/07/2023). Touchscreen for menu, 'A' button for advancing text. Not what I expected at all, it was pretty solid mixing some philosophical topics with the right amount of humour to make them bearable.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Chuusotsu is a slice of life/drama VN that is the perfect mix of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and legitimately great writing. The main 3 characters are very likable and really grew on me over the roughly 10 hour playtime. The main story is well constructed and has many positive themes such as hard work and being who you want to be. The setting/universe of the game is very over-the-top and has many really enjoyable parodies of typical anime tropes like chuunibyou and shounen power levels. It is not for everyone,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this vn is funny to the very core. Very recommended if you want to buy it and reading a nice story
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well! I wont spoil anything. The art has a little room to grow, but the story struck right thru the heart, for me at least, and the characters are so compelling and human; relatable but still original. There is plenty of depth but it's not pretentious. Wonderful psychological tension and movement, but no moralizing. I'm impressed and humbled, to be honest. That one artist with a small team can create such a bright, meaningful, sincere story that easily makes anything from AAA studios feel about…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'll open with that I don't like visual novels as a whole - they're just not my jam I had this thing auto-scrolling while I was playing Chrono Trigger in windowed mode ... It's a VERY LONG Visual Novel... with a very interesting and powerful message. I highly recommend.
