PROS: -Nice art -Variety of weapon types. -Heal/AP/upgrade mechanics nicely implemented CONS: -"Upgrade" system is poorly designed and an unbearable chore to grind out. The game is balanced as if you have all the upgrades already unlocked....which makes playing at first nearly impossible. You will spend your first 50-100+ matches just reloading to hope you start with a bunch of houses that don't have enemies so that…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My Video Review on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9L-zCopQ3-0 Fun little game, and most definitely a challenge. The randomness in the game pretty much guarantees that no two games will be exactly the same. Graphics are good enough and very much resemble the ever popular Plants Vs Zombies style. You basic goal is to assemble a big and well enough equipped group of warriors to defeat Dracula when you find him, as he is one tough hombre. Find him by accident too early in the game,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Do you love Plants VS Zombies? Do you love Rogue Legacy? Have you ever wondered what would happen if they were mashed together? Bam here is a video of it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8cbp7PN9YI This really is a fun game and at $5 bucks more than worth it. I review all games through the eyes of a Dad on a budget. I feel like a game needs to have at least $1 per hour of fun and this game accomplishes that. This game introduces permadeath, gold/upgrade carry over, and procedurally generated…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hunters of the Dead is a lane defense game featuring an overhead map in which you decide which buildings to capture. No idea why its tagged as a tower defense game. It is set in a steampunk universe in which you are tasked with destroying Dracula and various undead creatures. You will need to build a squad of Hunters to accomplish this and you acquire them by rescuing them from their homes. They can not continue fighting indefinitely, they will need to rest after too many battles. It is a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rebuild meets Ironclad Tactics meets Plants vs Zombies. And the result gameplay is actually pretty fun. I REALLY like the mesh of genres behind this game, and what they've set out to do here. The problem is in the execution: - Tips pop up at the wrong times, and sometimes can't be closed. - Actual tooltips are non-existant, as in appearing when something is hovered - and they could really be used here. Which tells me that this was probably a mobile port. - Lack of information about your…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →3 hours is all you need to play this game.. You start at the center of the map.. The 8 house around your starting point is tier 1 building.. Then the house surrounding that 8 house are tier 2 building.. so on and so forth.. each tier the monster get stronger and each different building give you different bonus. Each building have around 1/3 of chance that you will get into a fight with the undead and there are object that you can try to achieve to get extra gold.. Starting from tier 3 you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →How can people dare to compare this game with Plants vs. Zombies? This is the worst game I have ever played and even though it was low price I absolutely regret that I bought it. 98% of free browser games are better designed than this one. How could the developers spend so much effort for graphics and sound (okay for me for this kind of games) but complete forget about the gamplay? Guys, before developing games, maybe play some games first to get an idea about game design. EDIT: OK, I see.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No. The balance imposed by the progression system feels like an immediate "f**k you" to the player. In a rogue-like you fail because you lack the knowledge and skill required, and learning new things and making better progress next time is usually fun. Here your progression has nothing to do with your skill, you're required to fail games quickly and repeatedly in order to earn points to spend on unlocking the permanent power increasing upgrades. Maybe if you grind to get all the upgrades, you…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →well worth the five dollar price tag for this plants vs. zombies rougelike rpg game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is pretty good especially for that prize. Mostly will like this game fans of game like plans vs. zombie. Mainly you need to know that is possible to quit from battle if is tought through menu click on continue and attack that building later.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The first thing to clarify: it is a rather limited, very mediocre indie game. So, there's absolutely no rush to buy it. However, if you do get it via some bundle, a big sale, or another occasion... It might be not too bad, for one evening. Technically, Hunters Of The Dead is a mixture of rogue-like turn-based exploring of the city, infested with the undead plague, and a tower-defense-like real-time action, somewhat similar to Plants vs. Zombies. You have 5 lines with squares to place your…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well crafted rogue-like game. I love the character progression and the mini story. Graphics and music are nice. Would love online leaderboards too!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a bad mix of Minesweeper and Plants vs. Zombies. Please look at some Gameplay footage before buying this! The Minesweeper half is the world map, where you choose which building you will tap for resources. Each building is clearly labeled, so there's absolutely no surprise or excitement from the marginal bonuses that they give you. Every building also has a chance to start a lane defence battle against the undead. Every battle has a small chance to include the final boss, Dracula.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game seems like it could have been so much more. It was fun for a little while, but quickly became to repetitive. Still for 5 dollars you can't go wrong.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is worth its price. As another reviewer said, this game does not deserve the hate it's getting. It's an interesting concept of making Plants vs Zombies a rogue-lite. I think the game needs a bit better style of tutorial, it attempts to teach you really important things with popup boxes and if you skip it, you have to learn the hard way. You really need to read everything the game tells you. It's super duper important you realize that houses closer to your base have easier fights. I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For the $1.30 I paid for the game I had plenty of enjoyment from it. Really it is just grinding to get the upgrades then using the Blade wannabe character to take out Dracula. There is some strategy involved in placing your characters. Some. Once you get all the upgrades, beating the game shouldn't be too much of a problem. All in all, was cheaper than goingout to a movie.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hunters of the Dead, by Traptics, is a monster hunter, tower defense, rogue-like game. In this game you will start with a base of operations, and a randomized grid of city buildings that will enhance your ability to survive monster attacks. The catch is that the layout is always going to be completely random, as is the times when clearing a section of the city causing a fight to occur. Now of course the biggest and baddest of old school monsters will definitely keep you on your toes through the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Мне сложно определиться с жанром игры.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A rather difficult rogue-like game, which can be a big time sink if you want to beat it. In essence, you need to find and defeat Dracula in a randomly generated map with various buildings that provide your stronghold with soldiers, various bonuses, buffs or weapons. Your soldiers can equip a weapon that has various range, power and limitations, and also need to rest, meaning that some strategic thinking must still be used. Battles take place in a rectangle 5-lane grid Plants vs Zombies style,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One trick pony. But worth the .99 cents I paid to take a ride. ....just like your Mom. 6/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Essentially a tower defense which utilises a party-based combat system and takes a rogue-like approach to map generation. The game's scope, while limited, is novel and worthwhile for tower defense fans who want something a little different. Map squares contains a randomly generated buildings which provide upgrades and are discovered as the player explores, however with each building unlocked there is a chance of battle, with increasing difficulty commensurate to distance from the starting…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game just gave me the amount of fun proportional to the price paid. I recomend it if you^re taking it on a promo or something. You'll spend 2 or 3 hours on it, an then never open it again!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's been a long time since an indie game made me want to play it over and over again. Most titles feel like they've given all they had to you in mere minutes into the game. So, to my welcome surprise, this is a first one that has kept me coming back. Its gameplay is simple. Discover, expand and fight off waves after waves of the undead horde. And though it sounds simplistic, there are many a cases where you will feel overwhelmed by the number of choices you are going to make. To this, the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I feel this game is getting unfair review. I quite enjoyed it. Each game should take you between 30 mins to 1 hour to complete, perfect for lunch hour entertainment. You will fail for your first 10 games or so while you learn and earn points to upgrade your team for your next playthrough. Everytime you play, your starting team gets a little better and eventually your are capable of killing Dracula. It is well worth the price.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →a very uninspired game overall. i mean you will get your 5 bucks worth but dont expect it to go the extra mile at any point. the game is quite random as to what you get as far as layout which is fine overall. unless i missed something huge you dont have the tools to beat the game right off the bat requiring grinding. classes are based upon weapons but their are only 5 one of which is the base weapon for all the units. the enemys tend to all be very predicatble with only 2 units just not…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →pretty meh. in comparison to plants vs zombies: 1 battle here fells like beta-test of a 1 minute cutout of 1 PvsZ level. the progression is pretty much random. screwed after the 2-3 level? game over, keep your "coins", upgrade stuff before u start a new game. pretty much grind looses till u get a real chance for a "good" beginning and even then there´s quite a chance u just get screwed heavily. in short: battles consist of ~5 enemys that spawn pretty much within 3s, drop your towers, wait 1…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is hard to get a good idea from looking at it on the store page. It is really good though, I got it on sale and have been very pleased. It's kind of like plants vs zombies as far as gameplay, but has much less variation in units you control. They do however add new and unique elements to it to make it not simply a boring clone of pvz which is what a lot of these games turn out to be. The game does require a whole lot of luck in order to beat it. You are not going to beat this early…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Barely like Plants vs Zombies, despite what so many of the other reviews say, and if you haven't played that get it instead. Hunters of the Dead is sometimes frustratingly difficult and poorly explained, yet still manages to be a good "one more try" time waster.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Turn based resource management, with a bit of the Arcandia series feel to it. Unfortunately the balance feels poor and arbitrary and there's not much satisfaction playing it. I'd say don't bother with it, it just isn't well enough built to be worth your time.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Before I played this i had a big penis, two girlfriends and a lot of will to live. None of these things have changed, so I have no idea if this game is any good.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Meh, seemed like something that was whipped together in a high school classroom.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Okay this one is a true disappointment. The game looks really fun... but what the heck is wrong with the balance? I start with 1 hunter... now FIGHT DRACULA! Start again, and again.... I can never make it anywhere in this game! Things don't really make any sense, nothing is explained... Also every 4-5 battles, out of the blue I won't have *any* hunters and so I can't fight and that's game over. Is that a bug or am I missing something?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I liked this game. A simple little row based tower defense (like plants vs Zombies), you explore to get new guys, guns, and buildings to help your guys recover and train. Light RPG elements. one important note: someone in a review wrote that the first ring was the 8 zones around your start base, and that's wrong. it's the 12 zones. each difficulty of area is exactly a square. Game became so much easier once I learned this
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is an enjoyable and unique lane defense game. You will die at first and many times thereafter, but the clicking on buildings to power yourself up (or face a potentially deadly attack) is a creative idea. Could one say that the game makes itself seem longer than it is by forcing you to replay it too many times to build up enough money to buy the upgrades for each run? Yes, but for me it never became frustratingly obnoxious because I enjoyed the gameplay enough to continue. Eventually you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had and have a lot of fun with this game. I also love plants vs. zombies and tower defense games in general. The randomly created skill opportunities and sub quests lead to new fun each round again. It's definitely worth its price.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Even though this is a pretty cheap game, I cant recommend it. The concept of this game is quite easy. Find hunters. Find Weapons. Survive attacks. Die. Do upgrades for next try. Rinse and repeat. This game is basically designed in a way that you have to restart it about 10 times before it is possible to kill Dracula. Tsk. Why?!?! Why do I have to replay the same stuff over and over to complete the game?!? The developers were just too lazy to create actual content.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Get this game when it's cheap and on sale. It is really fun and easy to play, yet still challenging. It's sort of a mashup between FTL and plants vs zombies. You click locations on a city map every turn to unlock power ups with the chance of finding monsters. Eventually you'll run across Dracula and the goal is to kill him. Your party starts off weak but so do the monsters. As you upgrade your guys the fights get tougher and tougher so you have to make some tactical decisions about deployment…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hunters of the Dead is a game specifically build around organisation of your team. Actions like resting, healing and training are all necessary, but keeps your Hunters from fighting. To win you carefully need to balance between which to keep present for combat, and which you can savely miss a few turns. While the first few games you're bound to loose to find that sweet spot, you gain gold which you can use to gain permanent upgrades to your game-start, making things easier aswell. Turns (or…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I imagine this is exactly how that Van Helsing chap defended humanity from the vampires back in the 1940s (it's true, anyone being attacked by vampires right now? Didn't think so.) Much like in life, you start with a single building. Around you, fading into the distance, more buildings. I'll be honest, in 1.7 hours I still don't know what they all do. Some of them give you people, some give you guns. The rest? What am I, an FAQ? You click where you want and things change color.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →When I first watched a gameplay video for this game it reminded me of the excellent "Rebuild" flash browser game and looked similar in many ways with the added bonus of tactical combat ....... oh how wrong I was. This game is nothing but a pointless and mindnumbing grind. You start the game with one guy with a pistol and a base. you have to explore buildings to find additional people ( hunters ), weapons, base defence upgrades and resources. Each hunter only has a linited number of action…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is a fun and cheap game so why not try it?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I find this game really interestin and worth of money! It seems simple and easy game but it isnt it is so addictive and enjoyable together,i suggest you to buy it it worths! :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this game for over and i think that it is a really good game with addicting gameplay, awesome hunters and a great desing. Also I think that it's the only that you are mad by losing and most of the time i wont to lose to make some upgrades. Finally you don't have to pay in game money you just pay the 5$ and then just have fun. Μπραβο παιδια καλλη δουλεια :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun and addictive game! GameORE approves!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nightmare fuel.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →At first this is a fairly fun game, However to beat this game Dracula is much too elusive and the RNG is mitigated somewhat only after a bunch of failed tries in which you purchase upgrades that carry over into the game. Quickly you realize however that it's simply all about unlocking "Razor" and all of the other stuff is basically useless until you can confront Dracula with him. http://youtu.be/mCQ5-CeGf3U
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really liked this one, 9/10. A real Indie gem.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game for a small price ! Offers a lot of replayability and its great if you dont have a lot of time for "serious" gaming ! Keep up the good work Traptics !
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In the state of unbalanced as this game is, I cant recommend it. Dracula shows up sometimes on your very first battle. The hunters are glass and the ghouls all are OP compared to your party. Its all a grind game to get better - no skill needed - all luck based. There are hardly any options to configure game, the lack of in depth explanation of a couple of the mechanics, the amount of rest to gain back a couple of action points and then rest at a hospital gives so little in health back even…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hunters of the dead is a turn based game where your main objective is to kill a very overpowered dracula, and i really do mean overpowered. Each turn you have to decide which building to capture each giving you different bonus, like an extra hunter, a new weapon, more health regeneration or faster AP regen (you need to send them to rest or heal accordingly for a few days), graveyards so you can make your lv 1 hunters level up safely over there, and more. Randomly when capturing a building you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is very fun and addictive and the gold carrys over to next playthrough so its like a great prosstion system i highly recomend this game and their game dev is the only game dev i have ever had contact me to help me fix what i thought was a problem but turned out to be just me being a moro-n ><
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was quite pleasantly surprised by this game. It's addictive and satisfying. Recommended if you like tower defense and strategy games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great fun! Once you learn how to play, you realize the depth of the game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Simple yet complex. Tower defense with unit growth. You shoose how to deploy and outfit your units, whether they can: stand by ready to defend your base, heal in a hospital, or train in a graveyard. 5 types of weapons each with its strengths and weaknesses
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →very good and cheap game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very unique and smooth gameplay. In my opinion the most important part of the game is the roguelike feel. But please guys add some extra permanent upgrades. Also a difficulty option would be nice for some more casual players.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not a bad game, but it may have some balance issues since I got rekt on my second battle.
