60 of 88 · most liked firstJust a quick review for those wondering if they should get it while it's on sale. So far I am happy with my purchase and recommend it for fans of Match 3 games. This one kinda reminds me of 4 Elements because you match by clicking, holding down the mouse button, and dragging it through all the gems of the same color that are by each other. There are occasional hidden object puzzles where you have to find little pieces of an object that are scattered throughout a scene. There is also some…

In addition to ripping off many of those casual game staples like hidden objects and match-3, it also offers many interesting ideas to these genres, and has fine level design. The story and setting is very cliché but it can also be endearing. I appreciate the good soundtrack and visuals. Has a few flaws such as levels getting too long for casual gaming, the city builder being just a non-interactive façade, and, I can't believe I'm…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →By The Gods ,This Game Is Addictive!! Yeah im really digging this cute little match 3 game !! Its just your basic match 3 game and you use help from the Gods as you progress and unlock them as power ups to aid you on your way to help finish the board. As you play you help rebuild Athens and help its people along the way. There is also some Hidden Object puzzles thrown in also for good measure :) If you are a fan of fun casual match 3 games get this game ;) Enjoy !!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I both liked and despised this game. The basic gameplay (make trails of 3+ matching tokens to clear them) is entertaining and the minigames like the city building and hidden object screens, while slight, are nice diversions. But when the level I'm working on completely reconfigures itself, undoing all the work I've done, for the FOURTH time, I got tired of it. And that was around Sequence 4, of 8. And then there are the obnoxious design choices like the coins - which you collect to make…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awesome game..about Greeks Mythology..game is on puzzle and destroy gems system but is very easy ..once start play you will enjoy it very much ..your task is to rebuilt Athena as it was destroyed by some plague and some hazards and of course some Gods will help you do this ..first one being the one and only Athena :D ..if you like puzzle games and destroy gems and also building ..and also love Greeks Mythology ..you will love this ..have fun and enjoy !!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A chain-match match-3 game, with a Greek mythology theme, a minimal city management aspect built in, and the occasional hidden object or other stage thrown in for variety. I actually really enjoyed this for a few reasons, one being that the board is a hex-grid, and not the standard square, leading to more abilities to match, as well as the fact that it also has puzzle-like maps where the goal is to figure out how to get some objects off the board with abilities. Quite good! Would highly…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A light-hearted Match 3 builder game with Greek Mythology elements. You play The Builder who saves Athens from volcanoes and others that try to ruin it. Pros: +Very beautiful texture, artwork, and soundtrack. +You get Both timed and nontimed mode. This is nice because I can up or down the difficulty on my choosing. It gives the player a sense of control. +The gameplay is pretty fun and the different gods having a powerup(to help clear the board) is a nice bonus. +Smooth FPS +It changes the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great Match 3 game with a nice variety in level design and fair difficulty curve. The city-building sim elements and hidden object scenes are a fun diversion if you like that sort of thing, but probably substantial enough to be annoying if you don't.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Heroes of Hellas 3 is a match-3 game. The game is part of a series of four games (so far) that the developers have released. I have played and completed all parts. Part 3 was the easiest. All fours games are different but great. In contrast to the other three parts, Heroes of Hellas 3 unfortunately has no Steam achievements. That's a bit of a shame. As for match-3 games, the Hellas series are the best match-3 games I have played. A true work of love. Very relaxing and at the same time…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Heroes of Hellas 3: Athens is a very good match-3 game with engaging gameplay and with enough variation in its many levels to feel like playing 'just one more level' before calling it a night. Story Athens is in ruins and it's up to you to rebuild the city. You'll need coin for that, which you'll earn by completing match-3 levels. While rebuilding the city, some gods will look favourably upon you and offer help, whereas other gods will unleash disastrous events on the city you're trying to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →6/10 late game the board gets filled with sooo many spacial rule pieces that it starts to suck the fun out of the game most levels start with only being able to use a small portion of the board hit the point where one level can take over half an hour..... the map will have like 4 to 8 things that once you proc will almost reset the full map at this i bailed.....
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you like casual Match 3 (M3) games, then "Heroes of Hellas 3: Athens" is for you. The games, themselves, are just fine. The story wrapper they use to try to link the games into some more meaningful whole (restoring Athens and then building a palace) could be done away with entirely. But, that doesn't detract from the actual gameplay. Also, just for completeness, you should know that the M3s have Fractured Object Games (FROGs) and Move Limited Match 3 (MLM3) games interspersed throughout…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Turning off hints does nothing - it's extremely annoying. Yes I know I can make that match, but I'd rather make a different one, stop flashing. The match-3 and hidden object gameplay is boring and not noteworthy.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I picked this game up in a bundle and wasn't expecting much. I was wrong. 80% Puzzle Game / 15% Hidden Object Game / 5% City Builder Heroes of Hellas 3 is a mix of 3 different genres. Initially a "Match 3" puzzle game, it's a game that keeps on giving. Puzzle mechanics lead to city building, which is very basic, and is simply there to provide a goal. Most puzzle games try to keep your interest with score's or stars, but Heroes keeps you playing because you want to rebuild Athens. Then just when…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I haven't played a M3 in ages and I certainly got my money's worth with this game! So much better than M3's I played years ago! One of the best designed casual games I've played! While the mechanic is similar, it's not completely repetitive because each level changes the board layout and the requirements needed to complete it. There are small items to seek in pictures to complete quests. While there are no steam achievements, there are nice in-game achievements. You earn money to add…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm a dork. I love Match 3 games. And this game is one of the best I've played. The graphics are gorgeous and the games are extremely engaging and creative. Things explode, missiles fly in, and hurricanes destroy. The story is weak but good enough to keep the game moving along. The HOG mini-games are great too and nice way to break things up. And when you've completed the main game, you can play the bonus content that is more challenging. All in all, this is an addicting and enjoyable game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →When you're done with Heroes of "[url=https://store.steampowered.com/app/1158260/Heroes_of_Hellas_Origins_Part_One]Hellas Origins: Part One" and have to wait for part 2, you need to find another of those games right ?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has colorful graphics, interesting scenes and lots of different levels. Very interesting and fun to play with bombs and explosions all in a nice bright screen. The puzzles and the story line are fun. I enjoy every aspect of this game and I play it a lot and never get bored. Even the music is nice.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Match-three gameplay, of the drag-a-line kind rather than the swapping kind. As a match-three game, it's excellent. Different colours charge up special moves, such as shuffling the board, or breaking frozen tiles, etc. Often you need to plan ahead and think about your chains will affect the distribution of the board, in order to eventually target a certain tile. The main objective of the game is city-building, but that aspect is shallow and too linear. I wish it was more fleshed out, and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →THIS! IS! SPA---er, I mean, OLYMPUS! Nice job, Alawar, The God/Goddess of Casual Games of Gamer's Childhoods.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A really really nice match 3 game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i really liked Heroes of Hellas 3 ( i have not played the other games of this series) but it slightly overstayed its welcome in my opinion. The levels start of fine at first, they have a good bit variety and more and more extra mechanics are added over time. Eventually, the levels take more and more time tho (in the end it took me almost 10 minutes for one level), the level structure changes over and over so that you have to pretty much start over clearing the "map" multiple times. Especially…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game was my childhood i loved this game as a kid it made me want to learn more about Greek mythology and i still want to learn more about it thank you to the developers for making a great masterpiece of a game still love it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great match game for triple the price. I own HoH 1-3. If not into match games then skip.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is so adictive. ithought it was going to be a bitlike candy crush but infact it ismuch more involved and you can keep levels lasting a while and collect lots of gold. easy to get lost in this game. you collect gems tresure chests and power up in the form of gods. many times i have said oh i am just going to have a quick go of this and i have lost hours. totally keeps me lost in the game making long matches and combernations gets you moregold and you can help the people a little…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've played Heroes of Hellas #1 in the past, so I thought this one was going to be just as fun. And it was! The level and game designs were pretty interesting, although at later levels, it gets a bit tiresome when in essence you clear the board 3 or 4 times (I hope it was only 4, and not 5 or 6, I really don't remember!) The city building aspect along with the story give you a goal while playing so the game doesn't feel boring or a chore. I only wish the in-game achievements could be made into…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Simple, beautiful, addictive...
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's OK. Middle of the pack as far as match-3 games go. It was entertaining enough to make me play all the levels including the full palace building bonus levels, but personally I didn't find myself motivated to play levels again to get better times and like a fair number of these match-3 games, it gives you gold to buy buildings but the buildings don't actually do anything which is lame, thus why I put it middling, Still, For a buck or two, it pays for itself to kill about 20 hours or so.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Best game, History , 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Interesting hexagonal match 3 game with a pleasant presentation. Really not much I can say about the game other than that it is a well made casual game with a number of twists on the match 3 formula that make it interesting to play. The later level can drag on a bit, but overall the game is really fun to play. The price is fair as you get a good amount of content, but in a sale it's a no-brainer to pick up :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is an awesome game. I love it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A Puzzle game (Bejeweled style) that blends with a Building game and all based on Greek mythology? WOW! Not to mention superb graphics AND trading cards! A must have for all gamers that love the style (and specially for this really low price! Just go for it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Heroes of Hellas 3: Athens, developed and published by Alawar Casual, is a colorful and content-rich casual puzzle game that blends familiar match-3 mechanics with light city restoration and mythological flair. Set in a fantastical reimagining of ancient Greece, the game frames its puzzle action around the task of rebuilding Athens after catastrophe has left the city in ruins. Rather than presenting match-3 levels as isolated challenges, the game connects them to an overarching campaign that…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →3/10 Random game key: 15/152 The core gameplay is simple, a connect 3 game. But it never challenges the player beyond that, it's pretty much impossible to fail a level. The story revolves around beating levels, which give coins, and if you have enough coins you can buy a building (which changes nothing), and then you go for another building. There's also a hidden-object game now and again but that's also pretty boring. So I won't be recommending it since it doesn't do anything exciting or new…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Enjoyable casual game. Maybe wastes a bit too much time on extra fluff screens and animations, but really not much to complain about here. Lots if different little mini-games and puzzles. No in-game purchases or nonsense. Quite enjoyable so far.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is an interesting game. It reminds me in some ways of a game I played awhile back. I think it was called Cradle of Rome. Anyway, you build stuff with money you get from completing Match-3 (and other) puzzles. Can be quite enrapturing.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Impressive at first with it's animated backgrounds, it becomes quickly repetitive. But it's still a good match 3
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Heroes of Hellas 3: Athens is a casual game of colour matching puzzles, similar to those found on Facebook. I have to say that I find it a very useful way to wind down after more involved games. It is possible to ignore the storyline but if you should choose to follow it, the story provides a purpose for the individual puzzle games. While this is not the most engaging game in my library it is relaxing.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Excellent match 3 game. Great graphics, sound and story. Your home screen of the city is interactive in the cutest ways. Interesting puzzles, layouts and modifiers with very little repetition. Good length game with fun bonus chapter.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really can't say enough good things about this game! This is a gem match game with puzzle mini games, a light city builder, and a little hidden object thrown in. You match the gems by drawing a line through any like gem that touches it. You can make really big combos doing this. One thing I really like as far as rebuilding the city is they give you 3 building styles to choose from. The music is really great and relaxing. I typically mute the game and listen to my own music, but I really…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Filthiest game ever.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →really ok matching game with olympus and athens as a theme/style. For some reason there are hidden object parts in the game now and then which I don't think really belong here also do the quasi building aspects don't seem to have a purpose besides advancing the game. The matching part is the main thing and they do break it up with different gimmicks and types of stuff. It's enjoyable for a little while, easy to understand rules and interface.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This does have a relaxed mode so you dont have to worry about beatting the clock. The graphics while a little plain get the job done and the sound is good. The game play is to match 3 tiles and they also offer puzzles every 4 or 5 levels to break up the game play a bit. You can also get to build up your town. You can also click on your people to see what they are thinking and also look for rubies inside your town to click on for some more extra money. A fun game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its an easy game to play and follow, many features which vary and make it interesting - well done
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a hidden gem!!! Dind't expect much from this but was surprised by how polished the games is Mythology based match-3 game mixing some elements of hidden object scenes, assembly puzzles and light city building elements with beautful hand draw graphics
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Entertaining game, matching tiles with the same color and has some hero powers added. Meanwhile you are building the city of Athens. What I didn't like was that at the end of the game some of the Awards were at 2/3 stars and there was no way of progressing them further, so I got the feeling that I can't really "finish" the game completely.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I personally don't enjoy it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →great game, have played over and over
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well worth a shot if this is the type of game you're looking for, found it to be one of the better ones.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it peaked at the 2nd game... But this one has some nice additions too i guess
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good, relaxing match-3 game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →why did I finish this game and why is it actually good for what it is
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very beautiful visual animations and enjoying during playing!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Out of nostalgia I bought this game to remember the good old times. The game in first 25% was enjoyable then the blocks with wings came, and pure enjoyment changed into hatred. Every. Single. Level. You finally cleared whole level from meteorites, monoliths, ropes, just to reset it. Not once, not twice, sometimes not even three times, but four times? Some levels take 10 minutes just to complete one level, and there are like 120 levels to 100% complete the game (it took me 17 hours). The story…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's just a match 3, but it's a great match 3. Almost never gets boring.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →SUCKS you in and all you want to do is finish the story very good addictive and enjoyable
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →quite a cute and catchy little game, especially for the pocket money price
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great match three type game that has a unique control system, great combo techniques and story.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It all works. Nothing exciting, and their grasp of ancient Greece is hilariously bad, but it is a fun little time waster. The HOG games are the weakest point so far, not very good, but the match-3 is okay. It is the match three where you find chains, not move gems or candy, guessing that makes a difference for some people. There is a rebuild-the-city thing going on, but it isn't game play, you don't really get to pick anything but the color. Got it on sale, and easy thumbs up at the price I…
